The researcher started to frown and get a bit huffy when Shiva started to try and play devil's adovocate for those Rangers ('They judged us guilty before a trail was conducted, or even collecting more than circumstancail evidence from shady people, and gouged a exorbate quanitity of cash for those offenses!') ,but that smoothed over when she tactily decided not to go further on the topic. He was grateful that she understood him as much as he could with other people's feelings on a daily basis, and just made him admire her even more for her kindness and sensitivity towards themselves!

Ventus was fairly surprised about her offering to lend her pair of electric mice for his own research and observation, but he soon started to sport a wide, radiant, and downright friendly smile that dripped with happy affection as his hands clasped together in delight at his opportunity. Even if there are no enemies to fight, Shiva could not help but to feel extremely startled over the declaration that the League here seems to be 'rather military-organized'. Just the thought of it....ugh. Instinctively, she brought Cottonee even closer to herself as if seeking comfort and security in her fluff, while carefully stepping back a little without loosing eye contact to Valarie.

There was an unmistakable trace of fear in her voice. "Really? Nothing so far hints on military being active or not so far as I saw since arriving in Chreshire. Luckily, to say... Did the King caused this? Or is it for safety reasons IF an enemy should arrive?"

Nice, now Shiva officially fears Valarie a little. However, she's also rather glad that she's on their side.

Okay, when Shiva formerly successfully prevented any blush from emerging, she failed on that as Ven decided to level his smile up to Dazzling Gleam. It was just too much for her. If he continues like that... Ehhhh, well... Then it's actually not that hard to guess where their friendship might lead to. Nooooo! Why is he doing this like it's nothing to him?! Hearing that it's just a tradition surely eased the situation. The fear was gratuitous and it'd be disrespectful to avoid the companion Nathan made if she'll be joining them on their way to Ginger Town, it was just for safety reasons, it makes NATHAN feel better, he needs that more than ever...

... all this made Shiva decide to stay calm, stay respectful towards Valarie, and overly give her a chance. Logically thought, it's absolutely no bad idea to have her near currently, just in case.

Ventus, being the simultaneously insightful and uninsightft empath AND observing her turn a marvelous shade of Cherrub Red, picked up that his overly affectionate demeanor was unbalancing her emotional state/making her a nervous wreck. With that knowledge, he tactidly decided to tone his smile down from 'So Sweet its Sinful levels to 'Simply Joyful' , and steer the topic towards his darling cute and 'magical' friend's future activities. "Then its settled then, my friend. I most likely will not be done with researching, recording, and finalizing my finding into text for quite some time, but I can give a rough draft of the ideas/observation that will go into the report, so don't fret about it. As for your future Gym Battle, we can discuss a general strategy along with Nathan before you are emark on that challenge, along side other topics as well, such as the Scimitar texts he copied down and what our plans will be before, during, and shortly after The Running occurs. Whoops, Nathan must have noticed. Well, it wasn't like she took care to hide that initiate startle at the beginning.

She took a deep breath before continuing to say a word. She needed that to calm her nerves both from this and the run-in with Ventus earlier - how could she know that he reacted that joyfully over her offer to leave her rodents to him for study? - the closure to her beloved fluffball was surely helpful on this.

"Alright... Thanks Nathan... I'm sorry for the somewhat mean reaction, Valarie. Was just startled over the mentioning of military... Really, I'm fine, better now, having a League Official - or Shield Maiden - accompany us is absolutely nothing bad, really, it rather increases our safety along the way. So... Do we get going then?"
