Uh I guess Ponyta fails to pursue you. Rolling another encounter!
(7)(2) Ventus runs straight into a Tauros, which is no surprise since they make up the bulk of the field.

Ventus was rather aggrevated that he happened to run straight into a Tauros of all Pokémon, and judging by the way it was angry staring while trying to keep pace and gore them, it looks like he isn't running away from this fight so easily! "Grah, I have no time for this, but I can't take the risk of this beast Trashing us to death! Michael, shower it with Spores until its sleeping soundly, then use Absorb to wear the bull down and keep yourself healthy! I'll try to catch it so that the beast isn't trampled into a furry smear on the road, so focus on knocking it out, my champion!"

Order: Fighting this encounter, if only because Mallorn wants a Tauros for some specific reason I can't remember. Michael will use Spore 4 times a Round on the wild buffalo until its asleep, then replace the remaining Spores with Absorb when it procs. Once the target is KO and Asleep, Ventus will throw 1 of his Pokeball to attempt to capture it, but if it breaks out, both him and his kick boxing shroom will just leave it there for the time being. Time for some good old fashion rodio!

I would also like the chance to catch the non-Nathan focused Absol that Raphael is going to focus down with his only Great Ball once its knocked out and Asleep, so keep that in mind as well!

Absol glares at Kirlia, who dances forward with a Draining Kiss at the ready. Absol paws at him, lazily. Then growls at Nathan, and leaps atop the barrier. From there, he gazes out toward Vapor Falls and the Daycare, amber eye blazing. Absol shakes his head; the situation is complicated. Nathan thinks there must be a lot of things the Absol wants to tell him. Absol resumes his eastward gaze.

Insight: (4)(5) Kirlia detects the joy of finally completing a mission, fear of disaster, much doubt, strong restlessness, and a strong will to fight.

Kory and his Pokemon are ready to move if the situation turns ugly. There is tension in the air. In the wide eye of Absol, Nathan can see the same craziness that afflicts the crowd of humans.

Raphael's Extremespeed lets it catch up with the three Absol stalking Nathan. They herd the Pokemon in the Running like shepherds, and Ventus realizes they are sometimes purposely sending threats his way!! Apparently they have business with Nathan, as he said.

Raphael catches one alone and sends some Aura Spheres that way after Yawning.

Nathan thinks there must be a lot of things the Absol wants to tell him. Absol resumes his eastward gaze.

Nathan's still rather wary, but getting a slightly better read on the situation has helped him focus a little more.  Kirlia backs off as well, not seeing any need to be ready to fight Absol at a moment's notice now.  

"Something's coming, isn't it?  What is it?  Almanac? The Scimitars?  A 'king?'  And what does it have to do with me and Kirlia?  If you want our help, you need to show us what you want us to do and why we have to do it."

Nathan's got an Ultra Ball in his hand now, but he's making no moves to use it yet.  What he means should be clear enough, though.

Nathan follows.  He doesn't care that this is causing a commotion right now.  This Scarred Absol is his only concern right now as long as Ventus doesn't interfere.

Absol's wrathful eyes meet the researcher's own baleful glare as the he gets a glimpse of the doom bringer, before it leaps over the fence and begins to run away! Ventus was at first perplexed by this jarring shift in behavior, as it appeared pretty dead set on Nathan as he saw earlier, before they catch it glancing backwards at the boy and sense its attentions: its trying to draw them away and isolate them from outside support! The empath expression under his cowl become a full on scowl at the Disaster's Pokémon's attempt to shake his trail, and after barking out an order for Raphael/Michael to put that fallen Absol into an even more dubious state of health and throws at Great Ball at it, sprints and leaps over the barrier to continue pursuing the Dark type! 'Oh I'll be damned to Kyurem Icy Domain if I pull off a stunt like this, harbinger! One way or another, I will protect Nathan from your tenaborous grasp!'

Order: Raphael and Ventus will stick around in the main Running Path juuuust long enough to put the Absol to sleep/Breloom use Stun Spore on it (Stack those Status!) and try to capture it (First with Great Ball, then a Pokeball), before they all leap over the barrier to continue hunting that Absol down! My character is not one to give up AT ALL, even when all signs point towards the fact that he really should consider it....

At that point where that special Scarred Absol appears on screen, Shiva coughed on the tea she was having while following in comfortable safety among the Daycare owners. However, she does not loose her calm over this. By far not yet.

Pretty clear however that this must be what Nathan was worried about and this one Absol was somewhat connected to him...

"That's quite a chaos in town, huh? I'm glad that...both of you allowed me to stay here instead of at the Center. I just hope that this chaos...does not reach US in the end?" Her voice was clear and thankful on this, but if one listened closely, there was fear in her. Not only for her, but mostly for both Nathan and Ven, wherever he was currently. He must be somewhere, though she haven't spottend him yet... (since he's still in disguise.)

[Iron]

That's when the TV shows Nathan chasing the Absol eastward, and a freak in a costume chasing them both, quite a bit behind. The announcer tries to make a joke out of it, but there's worry in his voice. Soon they are out of camera range.




I think I'm going to allow Paralysis to work on a fainted Pokemon, but not Sleep, pending an answer on the forums.

The stampede carries on. Some of the Absol stay in the main horde, while the trio (now a duo) vanishes from the sight of the camera.
