Valder is also in the running, watching all the four-feated Pokemon running in a stampede of dust. Valder joins in and... starts running? Ready, Theo?, ready, Froakie?
(I will stick with whatever enncounter I get. Though, if I get in reach of Piloswine, I will spend my dex points on that.)

(Want to make a roll on whether or not she cottons on the fact that this must be Ventus, Iron? You could, I have nothing against that, but due to the circumstances I feel she does have at least a strong assumption who this elusive person in disguise must be.)

Shiva doesn't know for sure it's Ventus, but she can believe that if she wishes. Especially since he is hanging onto a Togekiss!
Oo, look, Valder is on TV too!
He encounters....(4)(3) Miltank!
Froakie: (3) +6 = 9
Theo: (3) + 6 - 9
Miltank's init: (4) + 3 Dex + 1 Survival = 8

Ok, actually attacking Absol after Nathan negotiated a peace is over the line. This is going directly in the face of what another party member has been working for the entire campaign. No can do, Windos.

Then I'll re-word my orders mate so that they just harash the thing, not outright attack it. By golly, is using Yawn/Charm/Supersonic to hobble the beast so that Nathan can more easily subdue it is such a bad thing? Baah....

Nathan isn't trying to subdue it. He's trying to interact with it. You're impeding that interaction, knowing full well out of game what you're doing. And in-game, for that matter, given your legendary empathy. Let Nathan have his fun and stop sabotaging the efforts of other party members.

I am not trying to sabtouge or impede him, Iron, despite what it looks like. If I wanted to do that, I would have had Raphael/Ventus/Michale constantly gunning for that Absol, instead of taking care the other Pokemon. It has been pointed out rather clearly that even if Ventus KNOWS that his aid is thoroughly unappreciated, he will still offer it because he refuses to allow Nathan to be at risk what so ever, no matter how low that chance is now. Plus, I'd argue that my character is so caught up and focused on his goal and coordinating with his Pokémon that he's not paying attention to what his empathy is telling him about the situation.
Look, if you are just going to hard deny Ventus from being overprotective for legitimate character and in game reasons, then just prevent him from exiting the Running entirely. If you do that, then my character has no choice but to endure the rest of the event and let Nathan have his own moment of glory, to his charing. Otherwise, what else I am supposed to do, have a infamously stubborn and paranoid guy decide to stop mid-way for literally no good reason (To him) and just turn around? If you didn't want Ven to follow after Nathan because of this eventually, just prevent him from doing so. I'm not actively trying to be a troll or ruin other's people's enjoyment, I just playing the game and doing what you said I could do earlier.

Edit Reason: No chasing after Nathan and Absol, then.

Valder was there too, hooray! Was he away from the group the whole time to train or develope some strategy for participating as well? Uhm, nevermind, he was a grown and tough person and should know what he is doing... This didn't prevented some worry for him to emerge in Shiva, though. He was a party member, an important one, better not think about the chance that he might get injured here! Wait... actually, it was a wonder that seemingly none got injured so far by all the chaos and unexpected batch of Absol appearing. Or they just don't show that on TV, most likely.
However, there was another thing that brought her headaches. With everyone else in the party participating in the event and she felt somewhat...bad. Particularly like one of these Snubbulls running: Not brave at all, prefering safety and somewhat weak. It was painful somewhere deep inside her... And she was still wondering why she was relying on over-the-counter meds to boost her mood and emotional state?! Nice.
Anyway... someone in the party has to be there to be the haven of peace and calm for her brave travel companions, right...?
...Right??

Medicham stands on the pinnacle of the waterfall. You clamber up there and send forth Phantump.
"Medicham. This shall be interesting. Phantump! Use Leech Seed! Then use Feint Attack 3 times!"
Leech Seed: Dexterity (2) + Fight (2) + Canalize (1) - 1 - Actions (4) = 2d6

Waterfall Sensei Round 1
Fire Punch
3 Dex + 4 Fight + 0 Brawl -2 actions = 5 dice
(3)(5)(3)(2)(1) Hit
3 Str + 3 power -3 Vitality = 3 dice, +1 Super Effecitve
(2)(3)(2) Phantump takes 1 damage.
Burn Chance: (3)
Phantump allows the physical force of the punch to pass through him. The fire still burns, however!
Leech Seed
(2)(1) Miss
The seeds are carried away down the waterfall. Hopefully they will contribute to the nature around us.
Fire Punch 2
(5)(2)(3)(3)
(2)(6)(5) Phantump takes 3 dmg! 2/6hp He now has a -2 pain penalization, because he dipped below half health.
Feint Attack
(3)(5) Hits.
3 Str + 2 power -2 vitality = 3 dice
(6)(3)(3) Medicham takes 1 dmg 5/6hp.
You get the sense this Sensei is holding back a further power. He has hidden reserves that he rarely needs to call on.
