Flame Charge wears off after a time. Absol stays teasingly in sight - visible behind that boulder, over that hill, through that tree.

When you reach sight of Vapor Falls, Absol pauses. You see Heart engaged in battle atop the highest point of the falls; he's fighting a man dressed in monk robes who moves around just as much as his Pokemon do.

Absol adopts a perch atop a different boulder, since the highest is occupied. He does not spare a glance for the combatants. He does send an anxious glance southwest, where his gaze lingers a moment longer than necessary. He waits in that pose for you to catch up.

Kirlia pats Swiftfire. She deserves a break. Whether you withdraw her or not, Absol leaps from boulder to boulder until he is down at the base of the falls. Then it's time for a swim - he leaps as close as he can, and then begins swimming on behind the crashing water!

Thinking about this scene, I have a rather pertinent question that most likely needs to be answered at some point: Did Heart notice Nathan and Absol jump down and swim behind the waterful, from his battle with the Sensei? If he did, could he reasonably deduce that they were heading to a location behind it, and see when the boy emerges?

If Absol has clear LOS with the battle, that must mean Heart does as well, and I doubt he would miss seeing such a rare Pokémon such as the Dark type if it came moseying by. This could be...problematic, if Heart either decides to start bugging Nathan about what happened, or goes looking for answers himself...

Heart saw them go down there, because I mentioned Nathan seeing Heart. He can't see them right now - but Axew saw 'em, I should probably mention that Nathan sees an Axew fall from heaven! Or perhaps that happened before Nathan came back out.
