[Game] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure: Celadon City Vandel

"Never disagree a smart Duplicat." Arial smile then look to the Archeologist. "Okay then mate. We accept the deal. If my partner agree, then I wont have any excuse anymore. Besides, be field assistant its not so bad. I dont have much plans after the end of the festival, so explore a new region it would be a good idea. I very confident in my team and strengh so lets begin."

"Well said, good sir! Let us make our way to the vacate lot to conduct our battle! Wouldn't want to make a right mess of my place of business, now would we?"

He leads you towards the now deemed battlefield, and you each take opposite ends of the lots. With a great big chortle, Ecru limbered up his arms, before placing one hand on his cap and withdrawing one of his own Pokeballs. "Since you didn't specify the terms of engagement earlier, I say that we shall have a 4V4 Single battle, with no fainting of either our Pokémon, with substitution only happening at the end of a Round! We are just having a spot of sporting competition, not beat each other's Pokémon to death, by jove! Now, hold on to you cap, for things about get windy!"

The ancient historian then tossed out the Pokeball onto the battlefield, summoning a great big Hippowdon! The moment she fully colelesants, she lets out a massive *ROOOOAAAAR!* , and the surrounding air was whipped up into a raging Sandstorm as vast quantities of the grainy substance poured forth her and caught in the wind! Heavy Sandstorm weather is in effect for the rest of the Encounter.

"Ha ha, now that was rather bracing, wasn't it," Ecru yelled to you over the raging sandstorm, "Now, what choice of Pokémon will you summon to brave the scouring sands?!"

Arial thinks for a second about what Pokemon he would bring. If he remember clearly Hippowdon is Ground-type and is weak against Grass, Water and Ice, so in this case Melchior would be a good choice since he have Leaf Blade. But Hippodown can learn Fire Fang and would a terrible thing since Metalynx is 4x weak against fire because of the typing of Grass/Steel. But if he Mega Evolve it can use Heatproof to reduce the damage of Fire Type moves. And that Hippondow might have that type of move to fight against Grass and Ice. And the bad news I dont have any pokemon with Water Moves. Baltazar its not a good choice either since Astronite is weak against Ground like a Earthquacke, and Baltazar only knows the moves Confusion, Ancient Power, Charge Beam, Rock Polish and Moonblast. Ancient Power woudnt cause much damage, Charge Beam is complete useless.. Confusion and Moonblast would be useful but not much super effective. Besides that guy might have a Tyrantrum as last Pokemon so it I might Baltazar just in case.

Who leave with three possible choices: Gaspar, Sekmet or Empirilla. Gaspar can copy the form and moves, but I can only use one move because of choice scarfs. And Empirilla I only receive today so he might dont listen to me. Sekmet woul be interest and tempt mon to use and he can almost defeat any pokemon, but I might spare her for last in case everyone fall. Dammit, Ground-types is very dificult type of Pokemon! The good point about Hippodown is he dont have much Sp. Defence. Here everything or nothing!

"Okay then! To bring him! Go! My King! Melchior!" Arial then bring his old friend Melchior, and to make sure he dont receive much damage he decides to use the Mega Evolution. "Melchior! Use Leech Seed and begin the attack using Leaf 2x! No lethal damage!"

Battle of the 'Ages' Round 1!

Initiatives:

Melchoir: DEX (*4) + Survival (0) + Roll (1) = 5
Hippowdon: DEX (3) + Survival (3) + Roll (4) = 10

Hippowdon goes first in the Round, followed by Melchoir!

The sand hippo began to trample towards Melchoir with flaming tusks the moment he set foot on the battlefield, but the jungle cat's sudden Mega Evolution completely caught her by surprise! Enough that she was not able to change her attack at the last second to adapt to the situation!

Fire Fang
Accuracy: DEX (3) + Fight (1) + Brawl (2) - 3 Actions - 1 Accuracy = 2D6 Dice

Damage: STR (2) + 2 - RE (Heat Proof) - Vitality (*4) = Absolutely no damage what so ever!
Burn: Can't be burnt either, nyah!
Flitch: (6)(2) ...but the Metalynx can still be Flitched!

It was apparent that Fire type attacks were not going to be up to snuff against this fortified feline, and let's out some vile sounding (Somehow!) growls and bellows at the discovery!

Hippowdon's STR and DEX increase by 1, but her Dex decreases by 1 as well!

Unfortunately for both her and their trainer, she was so caught up in her irate Pokeswearing that she was unable to act for the rest of the round, giving Melchoir ample opportunity to pounced upon them and slice her up with his green glowing tail!

(1)(2)(1)(6) The metallic predator missed his mark entirely, though, soaring over the enraged sand hippo with nary a glancing blow! He quickly pivots on his paws to slash at Ground type again, aiming for the legs this time!

"Oh dear, that was not what I was expecting from initial contact with the enemy! Oh well, we must struggle onwards, and I will not give up so easily! Brace yourself, sir!"

"I was thinking to do diferent sir! And like I say, I have confident in my team!" Arial shouts during that Sandstorm. He knows that is dificult fight, but is different from his daily fight until death. Nothing better as no-lethal battle to have fun. "And you still not see all the power of my team! Melchior! Use Metal Clawn one time to fortified your power! Then use Leaf Blade two times!" Melchior unleash a huge roar in the arena and his Clawns grown summing his metalic blades.

"Well...that was...not what I expected to happen..."

Reiner backs off just a little, and removes the ring.  It's not his to wear, after all...

Then he sighs again.  "That man was Archie Sterling.  Your former master...and husband.  That is what I meant when I said he cared deeply enough for you to sacrifice himself for the sole purpose of bringing you back to life.  When you lost your life, he was crushed.  Broken.  A shell of the person he was.  He couldn't bear the thought of living without you.  Those genuine feelings for you are why I agreed to letting Mew ressurect you.  And they're also why I'll do my best to ensure you can get the most out of your second chance at life."

He looks down, looking just a little shameful.  "I'm sorry about intruding on your memories, by the way.  I'm still not entirely certain I'm in control of my recently acquired psychic abilities, and I still don't know the full extent of what I can do.  I only hoped to illustrate a point by showing you the ring, not, well...cause you to relive the point I was only trying to illustrate..."

Kyubi tilts her head confusedly at your initial responses, not quite understanding what was intended by revealing Archie's Wedding Band to her. The fire fox knew that the...her memories (As bizarre and detached as those fragments of her past life seemed to be for her) together with her Master was an unplanned shock to both their systems, but what else were they trying to do with the ring, besides jog their...memory on her past relationship? Regardless, she assimilated a couple of hallmark experiences of her past life, learning a little more about her old self and about the man gave their life for her own: Archie Sterling, her former master and...husband. Her trip down memory lain had answered some pertitnant questions about her resurrection itself, namely to why he committed such a sacrifice in the first place, and just how much both her old self and him meant to one another. Despite these gains in Insight, the kitsune were still left with a great many deal of uncertainties about her old existence itself, and raised several intriguing question about just what type of life did her past self live, and the friend they had....

More and more, though, she couldn't but feel....disconnected from who she once was after re-living those memories. Enough that she was actively and consciously distancing herself from 'them' by labeling the Ninetales she was before her first death in impersonal and third person terms, rather than fully accepting 'them' as a part of herself. Like it or not, the vast majority of her memory/experience had either vanished or near obliterated in the time she was In Between, and with it went her past self's personality, along with their desires, wishes, preferences....and connection with others. She didn't know that if who she WAS were just the scattered bits and pieces of her past life that managed to endure death, or if Archie's sacrifice affected her more than she though, and those thoughts honestly made her worried for a moment. Would she be who she is now if they had more access to their past at the start of this almost Shakespearian day (Hard to believe that it has only half a day since you two met, isn't it?), or some different being? Would she be so close to her Master Reiner, and love him as much as she does now? Kyubi ponders on these thoughts....before shaking her head in dismissal. In the end, she was Kyubi, faithful and loving Pokémon of her Master Reiner, and she was not going to be caught up in ‘what ifs’ and doubt herself at this point. The fox lady had her Master to help guide her along the path of this odd life of hers, and he in turn will have her along the way.

When you start to apologize/blame yourself for easedropping on her almost forgotten memories, your Kitsune frowned to herself, and decided she would have none of it. She immediately stepped forward and snuggled you in an instant, doing her absolute best to make you feel comforted and that what they saw together was not his fault. Or, at the very least, she doesn't consider it a negative thing at all! "Master, their is no need to feel bad about that, as we both had no that Archie's Ring's would reveal a couple of Old Kyubi's memories. I still don't remember much about my past, much less when I was a little Vulpix, but I know that it takes a long time for a Pokémon to master their powers and gain control over their Element. If I'm still able to have a chance to learn about the world and life I live in, then why do you deny yourself the same chance as well? What I saw....what we saw showed be enough to know my old master Archie and I shared a strong bond of love, and I can see why you are hesitant on getting in the way of that or going against his wishes in some way."

"But...even then, I still love you, Reiner. Old Kyubi had that powerful relationship with him, but she's...she's gone now. She stopped existing when my...her memories were lost or broken up in Limbo, and I'm...I'm my own woman now. I will always be grateful for what Archie Sterling did for me, and I'll never forgot how much we meant to each other as well, but he's dead and gone, and I have found someone else to love. You, Reiner. Even if we only known each other for such a short time, you've done so much for me and gave me unconditional kindness, care, and happiness. I want to love you, and I don't want anything in my old life making you feel bad about receiving it. ...You...you don't have to be my boyfriend if you don't want to be, I won't force or pressure you into such a uncomfortable relationship. I just want you to know that if you ever wish to return it some time in the future, or need my support in anyway....I'll be there for you. As I always have, Master, and always will be."

Hippowdon did NOT want to be sliced up by the Mega Metalynx anytime soon, as he nearly sliced their hind leg clean off at the joint from their last Leaf Blade (Only stopped by them blunting the blow), so she quickly took punitive measures to put a clamp down on such brutality! They first took a quick rest, though, so that they could endure whatever move the cat uses to lash out against them!

Slack Off
Accuracy: Missing HP/Vitality (3) + Surprise (1) [Forgot about this last time!] - 1 Pain - 2 Actions = 1D6 Dice

Extremely unhappy as the sand hippo literally procrastinated the damage it inflict away, the metal mauler vigorously ranked its re-enforced iron hard natural weapon in frustration across her torso!

The Ground type, not just content with getting a bit of rest themselves, decided to pass on the lethargecy by opening her mouth and blasting the jungle cat with a great big:

"Ohohohoho, it looks as if your Metalynx is having troubling staying up this night, despite the howling winds around us! Perhaps you should recall it and let it get some rest, yes?" the old man joyfully taunting you, giving you a little ribbing on how things have more or less been reset between them as of now. You can tell he doesn't mean ill by it, but its up to you to respond in whatever manner you wish!

Current Status: Unchanged for all, but Hippowdon is at Full HP, and Melchoir will fall asleep at the start of the next round, unless switched out. What is your call?

Reiner pauses to process that for a moment.

She wouldn't forget what Archie used to mean to her...alright, good.  Goal one of three accomplished.

She was considering herself an entirely different person now...understandable.  He gets where she's coming from.  Reiner has also distanced himself from his life before being banished from Blackthorn, so he's familiar enough with the idea, even if his experiences with it were a little less...extreme.  He doesn't consider himself a true Blackthorn native, even if he did grow up there.  How could he when it defined so little of who he is today?

She loved him, even if he wasn't comfortable with returning those affections...that's...well...hmmm...he still wasn't entirely certain how to feel about that...and he certainly didn't want Kingdra and Mew feeling left out...or worse, jealous...

There were a lot of important ladies in his life now...Kingdra, Felicia, Mew, Emily, Kyubi...each meaning something different to him...

Kingdra, his friend since childhood and unconditional, lifelong partner.

Felicia, who he'd caught as an intended gift for his boss, but he'd been growing rather attached to having her around...plus, she got along rather well with Weavile, all things considered...

Mew, who he'd bonded with over an extremely deep, almost fateful connection, and who would be there for him for the rest of his life, just like Kingdra...

Emily, a girl following a similar, brighter path to the one he had traveled down at that age...

Kyubi...what does she mean to him?  He'd only really met her this morning, but he would protect her from harm as best as he could...he wouldn't see this life cut short after giving it a second chance...but aside from that...what does she actually mean to him?  She's certainly not just another pokemon, at the very least...it was something more akin to his bond with Mew, but...different...

The snuggle was nice, at least.  It was a good comfort...but she could have plenty of reason to feel resentful should specific memories return to her, so it can only comfort him so much as long as that's a risk...

This is incredibly sensitive territory he's treading into.  Tell her in just the wrong way, and it could cause a breakdown.  Don't tell her only for her to remember later?  Probably a guaranteed breakdown.

The sand hippo barrels forward, intent on squashy Melchoir after its savage slash nearly turn her into chucks of sandy meat, when the green feline pounced onto them, scaring the living daylights out of her and interrupting her attack, while giving the cat a free on in turn!

Accuracy: 8D6 + 2 Single Action (This is a bonus round, basically, and you can attack only once, so I'd applied the Accu Bonus in this case!) = 10D6

The Ground mammal is sent realing from the unexpect blow, letting out a bellowing cry of anger and pain, and you could hear Ecru yelling : "You sneaky devil, you! It stands I have to take this fight much more seriously than I thought! Have at you, sir!"

Battle of the 'Ages' Round 3!

To say that Hippowdon was upset by the your Metalynx's cunning move would be an understatement, as they lifted their full weight into the air to slam into him with every ounce of contempt she could muster!

Revenge

The apex predator is almost flattened by the sand hippo, but the managed to right themselves and slash right back at her with a green glowing tail! He was not one to take anything lying down, and will not be put in that position by a Ground type of all Pokémon!

The ground mammal lets out a defiant roar at being damaged by the metallic liger, before raising herself off the ground again to crush him beneath her mass!

(5)(6)(6) Melchoir takes 4 Damage, leaving him with 1 HP , and out of the fight as determined by the rules set earlier!

Hippowdon recovers 1 HP from Leftovers; 3/9 HP

When it looked like the sandy hippo would finish off the jungle cat with one last spiteful blow, Ecru held out his hand and yelled to her : "STOP! His Metalynx is out of the fight, so you don't need to flatten them out like putty, my girl! Return to my side, and let you temper die down a bit, before you do something rash that cause all of us all sorts of foul trouble!" Letting out a disgruntled grumble, the earthen she-beast never the least plodded back over to the archeologist's side, and laid down for a quick respite. Fighting that cat riled her up something fierce, so its a good thing that her trainer go her out of the battle at the time!

In here place, Ecru tosses out a Dusk Ball, releasing a Cacturne onto the sand chocked battlefield. But this was no ordinary cactus Pokémon, as the faint glimmers seen of his form and the tan, sandy coloration marked this one a Shiny! "Surprised, good sir? I had the good fortune to come across my partner here in the deserts of Hoen, where I caught them as a Cacnea! He's a sly and devious bugger, so best prepare yourself for some mischief on his part!"

Who will be sent out next, Spiritmon?

She didn't want to hate or dispise her master at ALL, and was legitimately terrified of anything that could possibly shatter the bond of love and trust they held with their much beloved Master. However, their was one little nagging sentiment that arose from his offer, one that had formed after the countless conversation held about her past self's trainer Archie, and now was the chance to have it finally answered...

Reiner is more than happy to return the comforting hug.  Kyubi needs it just as much as he does.  "To be frank...I can't really tell you if he was a good person or not.  I only first met him two days ago.  From what little I (and everyone else I know) know of him, though, he wasn't a terrible person.  That's evident in just how much he cared for you and from the brief conversation I held with him.  However, much like myself, he made some terrible, terrible choices at times.  He wasn't perfect by any means, and it cost him dearly when it all finally caught up to him, resulting in your death and breaking his will to live.  I'm in a similar position myself, actually, but I hope I haven't screwed up for the wrong reasons...if you ever do remember what happened, promise me you'll remember all of that as well, okay?  I'll also listen to whatever thoughts you have on the matter should that day ever come."
