[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
What do you mean by "use Knockdown and Strike two times" - is that all three actions in one turn? You don't have enough dice for that.

Is it Knockdown one round, then double Strike the next?

Ventus also gives an understanding nod to the solidgram in question; he knew that, of course, but the quickest way to the core programming is lovely pictures to share, so shared them he did! He'll think of some other data that might interest the digital Pokémon, such as quatum mechanical calculations and enigmatic coding sequences...

Nathan facepalms when Ventus comes from out of nowhere and bribes Porygon-Z with cat pictures...well, at least it worked...Nathan didn't know just how much to trust that stereotype, but it seems there was at least a little truth to it..."Alright, Porygon-Z, let's get ya out of here while you get used to your new capabilities.  You can hang with me, Kirlia, and Swiftfire in the gym's stands while we watch Shiva's gym battle.  We can do some practice later."

Heh.  From that trio participating in the gym battle to them watching one instead (well, Porygon would have participated if Ralts hadn't obliterated Sealeo on his own...).  Funny how things work sometimes, right?

Note: When Nathan picks a spot in the stands to sit at, he's going to be keeping some distance between himself and Ventus, obviously.

"Ah, that's absolutely fine to me to watch you in silent. Remember how me and Cottonee accompanied you on studying that Poliwag that you...uhm, fed to Apsis after you defeated it? I enjoyed that, it was somewhat peaceful... Been attending some of Burgh's exhibitions of art alongside Mum already."

Then the mentioning of finally heading to the Gym came... Nervosity and an innocent amount of anticipation struck, and a short glimpse outside the window from the point she was standing revealed that nothing of the brightness of the day has been lost meanwhile. "Oh...sure... Let me just switch Fletchling with Comite on the PC..." *does ina  smooth manner, before wrapping the familiar red tartan scarf around her neck* "What? It's a Gym resembling an ice skating rink, it'll likely be cold in there... It WAS when I watched your battle, Ven... Uhm, anyway, we can get going then from my side."

(@Iron, feel free to start the showdown then, my first Pokemon will be almost certainly Comite and Azurill.)

Off you go to the gym!

Zamboni has everything all set up for you. When you enter, he's skating around the rink, defining where the rough patches and watery patches will be. Showboating a little for sure. There's hot drinks for our brave cheerleaders in the stands - Shiva spots Xiani up there! Xiani waves.

Zamboni skates over and leads Shiva out onto the ice. Trainers have the option of standing on a sandy patch (not slippery) or skating around themselves if they wish.

"Glad to see you on the battlefield and not on the stands, Shiva! You know the rules: it'll be double battles, four Pokemon each, just one Potion as items. Each Pokemon battling until it can stand up no more!! Switches are allowed. LET'S BEGIN!"

The big scoreboard drops down from the ceiling, lighting up a "4" as both trainer's scores when Zamboni points to it dramatically.

He sends out Delibird and Sealeo to start things off!

Initiatives:
Comite (5)
Azurill (5)
Delibird (3) + 3 Dex + 0 Survival = 6
Sealeo (3) = 6

Wait, what?  Battling until fainting!?

Who was this girl, and what did she do with Shiva?

Ventus found his way into the stands upon arriving at the gym, taking double care to maintain a healthy distance from Nathan for the time being (Reshirim knows the boy needed some time away from him!), and summoned Abaddon, Hanael, and Michael right by his side, giving them all a cheerful grin. "My brothers and sister, today is a monumentous occasion for our mutual friend Shiva, for today is her very first Gym battle against the king of the ice rink, Zamboni. We all need to get ready to cheer and support our friend with all the effort we can muster, and sustain such praise until the end of the battle! I know the cold is bothersome, especially to you Michael, but that just means we have to be even more feverous in our efforts to warm both her and us up, and brave the chill! Let's get ready to cheer, my family!"

Order: Like the last time Ventus was in the stand, he's going to be hosting a cheerleading session with Hanael, Michael, and Abaddon , and do his hardest to get her pumped and confidante in the battle! XP would be nice for the exercise, but its unnecessary!

Axew Round 3

Loyalty: (5)

Strike
(6)(5)(5)(4)(4) Oo, a critical hit
3* Str +1 power +2 crit -3 vit = 3 dice
(5)(4)(5) Heart takes 3 dmg 4/8hp -2 pain
Unlocking his draconic power, Koa hurls Heart across the room! He slams into some furniture pretty hard. Ouch ouch ouch.

Knockdown
5 dice, -2 pain, -1 knockdown = 2 dice
(6)(1)
(4) Koa takes 1 dmg 3/5hp -1 pain

Heart slides himself across the room, sweeping Koa's feet out from under him. In one stroke, he reduces Koa's dice pool by 2!

Axew Round 4

Loyalty: (1)

Koa is getting grumpy about this. He's being forced to learn a grudging respect for Heart, and he doesn't enjoy that process!

He decides to break the rules a little.

Scratch
5 dice, -1 pain, -1 knockdown
(1)(3)(2) The scratch attack misses, for Heart knew this moment would come!

Strike Heart only has enough dice for a single strike.
5 dice, -2 pain, -1 knockdown
(3)(2) Miss.

Axew Round 5

It was indeed cold inside the Gym. Anyway, this will change relatively soon... Also, despite horrible nervousness and anticipation at the same time she made it to coyly wave back to the familair herbalist-healer. Seems like the aftermaths of The Running weren't that demanding!~

Conditions of the battle are known. Throwing back the scarf, Shiva, as planned called out both Azurill and Comite in an way too graceful movement. Especially the former seemed to have looked forward to the battle.

"Okay... Azurill, you know the plan, and you know as well that your task is a key-task. Once you're done, aim a Bubble Beam at Delibird. You, Comite - jump in right away and open the door to the outside with a well-places Rock Throw, before aiming the same move on Delibird as well. Pay close attention the impact of the move."

Orders for this Round: Comite is the first in Initiative, so opening the door to the outside to let the beams of the morning sun in is the first thing. Second action of the Round is another Rock Throw on Delibird, making good use of the birds 4x weakness to Rock. Azurill will do as discussed, no roll of dice is needed for this action. Second action of this Round is Bubble Beam as well onto Delibird. Not letting it set Entry Hazards!

Accuracy Roll Rock Throw 1: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Channel - 1 Accuracy of the move - 2 Actions = 5 D6
Damage Roll:None, since we're not attacking someone directly.
Additional notes: If this action fails, spending a Will Point to have it succeed nevertheless.

Accuracy Roll Rock Throw 1: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Channel - 1 Accuracy of the move - 3 Actions = 4 D6
Damage Roll:2 Strenght + 2 Power of the move + 1 STAB + 1 Hard Stone = 6 D6
Additional notes: Deals 2 points of autodamage on Delibird due to double SE.

No rolls needed for Azurills first action to GM's call.

Second action, Accuracy Bubble Beam: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Channel - 3 Actions = 5 D6
Damage Roll: 2 Strenght + 3 Power of the move, no STAB until evolution = 5 D6
Additional notes: 1 CD to lower Delibird's Dext by 1.
