[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Shiva was winning.  And by quite a lot too.  She hasn't lost a single pokemon yet, and downed two of Zamboni's at the same time...Braixen and Azu could probably clean up fairly handily now since there's no chance of them getting frozen.  Though Azu's power would be somewhat weakened by the sunlight, unfortunately...well, at least the ice block she's in will thaw because of that very same weather.  Ya win some, you lose some.

Nathan's still not visibly cheering, but he's certainly glad to be watching this battle.  It's quite the show to be watching!

Zamboni vs Shiva Round 4

Swinub and Glaceon fresh.
Comite remains at 3/6 hp = -2 Pain, Cherubi 2/6 hp with the same Pain Penalzation. She also has an Oran Berry, probably eat that when I'll call her into battle again.
Sunny Weather indoors and Spikes still in effect.

Successfully defeating at least one of his Pokemon felt absolutely splendid. Like a partial victory... Now say again that she can't do anything about being overshadowed by the natural battlers.

"Do forgive me for fainting both of your precious Pokemon, Zamboni! It had to be this way. But that icy window or whatever it was was quite a trick, so to say!~ Oh, and what an adorable Glaceon you have. Did it evolve here within the Gym?"

"...Oh, sorry, I'm loosing track... Ehm *cough*, back to me, Nightshade! You did your part for now VERY well, thank you. Saving your for later." In a smooth movement, Cherubi is withdrawn. Being replaced by none else that Azurill! Mouse was still trapped in an ice block, but the sun will probably have the same effect on her as on Comite. "Azu, you hear me in there? Don't worry too much for being frozen, it'll be better in no time - you did absolutely great in arranging it to shine for us! Once you're free, tail whip your foes, please, and shoot bubbles at Swinub regardless of the sun who will impair your Strenght - I know you're strong, so go for it. You, Comite - watch out for Swinub, and hit the icy fox with rocks."

Orders for this Round: The sunlight will likely thaw Azurill as well, once that is done, Tail Whip followed by Bubble Beam is the choice. Spike Damage will bring her onto - 2 Pain. Comite will aim for Glaceon with one Rock Throw, evading Ground Type moves Swinub might have as originally planned is pointless at this point.

Accuracy Roll Tail Whip: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 1 Perform - 2 Pain - 2 Actions = 2 D6
Effect: Reduces both foe's Vitality by 1.

Accuracy Roll Bubble Beam Swinub: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Channel - 3 Actions - 2 Pain = 3 D6
Damage Roll: Total damage is reduced by 1 due to the sun, but if the move hits, it deals at least 1 SE-damage on Swinub.
Additional notes: This is kinda risky for Azurill, but I'll trust in her and the dice for now... Also 1 CD to lower Swinub's Dext by 1.

Accuracy Roll Rock Throw on Glaceon: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Channel - 2 Pain - 1 reduced Accuracy of the move = 5 D6
Damage Roll: 2 Strenght + 2 Power of the move + 1 STAB + 1 Hard Stone = 6 D6
Additional notes: 1 autodamage due to SE. Forgive me, icy Eeveelution, I still like you.

"Oh, my Pokemon go into each battle knowing that they could faint! Many Pokemon love to fight, and mine are no exception! As long as I don't send them in wantonly, as long as I have all my attention focused on every moment of the battle, they trust me to lead them well. And Glaceon evolved at the tip of Mount Sentry!"

Zamboni vs Shiva Round 4

Azurill thaws out, beaming a big smile up at the sunlight! She's taking credit for the magic of this moment.

Azurill takes 1 dmg from Spikes. 3/6 -2 pain.

Tail Whip
(6)(3)
-1 Vit to Zamboni

Comite sends a stone careening off Glaceon's hide, sending splinters of ice over the battlefield.

Rock Throw
(4)(1)(2)(5)(1)
(4)(6)(1) Glaceon takes 3 dmg 4/7hp -1 pain.

"Glaceon! Animate the ice splintered off your own body!"

Icy Wind
8 dice, -1 acc, -1 pain, -2 actions = 4 dice
(5)(2)(4)(4)
(5)(6)(2) Comite takes 2 dmg 1/6 hp -3 pain
Azurill takes 1 dmg 2/6hp -2 pain
-1 Dex to Comite and Azurill

Swinub roots under the melted ice to bring up some mud! He's also chewing on something. Gross.

Mud Slap on Comite
8 dice -2 actions = 6 dice
(3)(2)(1)(6)(3)(4)
Comite finally faints

Bubblebeam
(1)(1) because -1 dex. Uh oh, the move misses! It, too, evaporates in the harsh sun.
Just to point out, the damage would be a straight damage roll, because harsh sun reduces total damage by 1 in the same way that "not very effective does." it would cancel out the SE.

Icy Wind
(2)(5)(3)(4)
3 Str +2 power -3 vit = 2 dice
(3)(3)(3) No damage.

Oops, I just remembered Azurill isn't actually Water type and can't resist ice. Oh well, too late now.
Mud Slap
(1)(2)(5)(6)(4)
3 Str +1 power +1 stab -3 vit = 2 dice
(6)(4) Azurill faints!

Well, that ended about how Nathan expected it to.  She could do this, though.  Braixen and Cherubi only needed to land a few good hits on Swinub...

"You've got a few more seconds of sun left, Shiva!  Make it count!  You've got this!"

Only a few words of encouragement from him, the most he's ever likely to say during the battle.  But those few words should speak volumes.

Swiftfire's a little unhappy to hear the sun's going to be going away, though :/

Zamboni vs Shiva Round 5

Azurill and Comite out of the fight, Glaceon at 4/7 hp, Swinub fresh with an insane 8 dice for Mud Slap's Accuracy. However, Zamboni's at -1 Vitality.
Sunny Weather indoors still in effect, same with nasty Spikes.
I'll also assume that the Spikes-damage on Cherubi is healed by the Oran Berry she's holding when she retenters battle, bringing her to 5/6 hp.
Whoops, I also missed out to add my theme for the battle... Well, we'll fly high into new territory then with slight delay.

"On Mount Sentry? Up there? Neat... Guess it's way colder up there than it usually is in this Gym, right?"

Also, while the battle was now back to 2vs2, it didn't felt like everything was lost already. The battle was turning to one's benefit and then quickly switching sides, it'll likely stay like this until the end. So far, everything could still change. In the end, hope and determination were it what kept Shiva fighting until a winner was crowned. Azurill's displaying a bright winning smile that reminded her somewhat ona familiar researcher was surely warming her heart a similar way the sun beams did... For now, withdrawing both Comite as well as the blue mouse were the choice. "You did wonderful, Azu, you're right that the sunlight was only possible thanks to you. Well, I'll pay tribute to you by making good use of the last beams... with fireee!!!"

In a flash of white light completely overshadowed by the bright sunlight, Braixen was summoned onto the battlefield! Of course he didn't enjoyed the Spikes on the field he ran in, but he gave an appreciating look at the surroundings and immediately showed that he understood by plucking and enlighting his basswood stick from his fluffy tail - Master needs us, and we won't disappoint her!

"That's the spirit, dear one! Start up right away with Embers on Swinub, neither chanting nor howling this time, just pure fire power. Feel the sunshine and let it burn." ... "You, Nighshade - don't be afraid of the flames, they're on our side. Tackle Swinub, use the sun to heal yourself up, then tackle Glaceon as well, go for it like there's no tomorrow!"

Orders for this round: Going hardcore now, there is too much on stake for Shiva to loose here! Three Embers, another Will Point is spend on the third one to make sure it hits UNLESS there are too little dice to pull it off OR Braixen is out of the fight until then (hopefully not) OR the battle has been decided by now (which I don't believe). Aiming for Swinub first, but if it faints, switching target to Glaceon. As for Nightshade, tackle Swinub, Morning Sun, tackle Glaceon. Thanks to Tail Whip of the former Round, Zamboni is at -1 Vitality, making him more vulnerable.

Accuracy Roll Ember1: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Channel - 3 Actions = 5 D6
Accuracy Roll Ember2: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Channel - 4 Actions = 4 D6
Accuracy Roll Ember3: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Channel - 5 Actions = 3 D6, autohits thanks to Will Point
Damage Roll: 2 Strenght + 2 Power of move + 1 STAB + 1 Charcoal + 1 Sunny Weather = 7 D6 + 1 autodamage due to SE on both foes
Effect: Pure fire power.
Secondary Effect: Probably thawing half the ice in the Gym, I hope Zamboni won't hate me for that. But it'll be a battle worth to remember!
Additional notes: 1 CD to inflict Burn1 on the foe.

Accuracy Roll Tackle1: 5* Dext + 2 Fight + 0 Brawl - 3 Actions = 4 D6
Accuracy Roll Morning Sun: 5* Dext + 2 Fight + so far 0 Nature - 4 Actions = 3
Effect: Usually a Basic Heal, but thanks to Sunny Weather a Complete Heal.
Accuracy Roll Tackle2: 5* Dext + 2 Fight + 0 Brawl - 5 Actions = 2 D6

Damage Roll Tackle: 2 Stenght + 2 Power of the move, no STAB = 4 D6
Additional notes: Seeking cover from Icy Wind is likely not possible, that's why.

Aye, you generally cannot shelter behind an ally from moves that hit all enemies. There may be exceptions, but normally, no. Moves that affect the entire battlefield are almost impossible to avoid.
Will points can be spent to avoid a pain penalization, which can often resurrect a dice pool for multiple actions.
All your orders are still valid.

Zamboni vs Shiva Round 5

Braixen is also Spiked, 6/7hp.

Tackle
(4)(1)(5)(5)
2 Str +2 power -2* vit = 2 dice
(6)(2) Swinub takes 1 dmg 5/6hp

Ember on Swinub.
(6)(6)(4)(5)(6) Crit!
That's a crazy 7d6+1.
(3)(4)(2)(6)(4)(1)(6) Swinub takes 5 dmg and faints.
The little pig wasn't even expecting it!

"No shelter from the winds of wrath, Cherubi!"
Icy Wind
(5)(2)(4)(2)
(6)(1)(2) Cherubi takes 2 dmg. Braixen takes none.
Freeze: (3)

Morning Sun
(6)(3)(2)
Cherubi soaks in that beautiful sun, chlorophyll raring!
Cherubi has 6hp, so rolls 6 dice to heal.
(5)(5)(3)(5)(5)(2) Full health for the little one!

Ember
(5)(5)(4)(6) 4 successes.
The wary ice fox sniffs the air and tries to jump out of the way of the lava fox.
Evasion: 1 rank in Evasion -3 actions = 4 dice
(3)(1)(2)(1) Not even close. Perhaps Ventus is glaring at Shiva's opponent with such force that he falters.
(4)(5)(1)(6)(1) Glaceon takes 3 dmg. 1 HP remaining.

"Yep, I know when I'm outclassed."
Shiva can keep her Will point. Zamboni presses his controls that end the battle, and he recalls Glaceon before it can be fainted.

"Um, normally I give the winner an immediate victory lap! But I'm afraid you'll have to wait on that! Why don't you go have a nice cup of cocoa with your friends, and get some care for your Pokemon from Xiani? Then they can join you on the ice when it's ready. But here is the Glass Badge!!"
Shiva receives the Glass Badge and $400! It raises your Strength by 0.5.

Shiva gains 9XP for the battle, +1 for creativity. She has 18Xp to split among her four Pokemon!

Zamboni calls out his Rotom, who immediately starts coating the rink in a new, even layer of crisp ice. When he's done, Shiva is given the Golden Skates for a victory lap!

Nathan grins.  He gets up and starts heading down to the arena to congratulate Shiva, Swiftfire following.  Porygon-Z zips off to check out those doors.

Kirlia, however, is mirroring the excitement that Nathan's not showing.  He Teleports next to Shiva as soon as she gets her badge and gives her a VERY enthusiastic hug...

Nathan facepalms.  "Kirlia, you're embarrassing us both..."

Kirlia chuckles.  He knows how happy Nathan actually is.  And if Nathan's happy, Kirlia's happy.

Nathan lets out a sigh.  "Congrats, Shiva.  That was an excellent battle, and quite an entertaining one to watch at that.  You've certainly earned that badge."

Heart was in the entrance smiling about the last part of the battle. After the spar with Axew and take care the bruises he was wander and heard about the battle who was happen in the gym and see the last part of the fight. He dont see the WHOLE pokemon battle but he could glimpse a good part. He then sees that group have a nice and warm congrats with Shiva and company.

"Or should I say, a nICE party I guess, hehe." He smiled and decide to go in other place. He is not part of the group and it could be strange to simple show up and interrupt the group. Besides, he dont want to ruin the victory mood from Shiva with Heart lame puns.

Throughout Shiva's not so gelid battle against the king of the ice rink, Ventus and his Pokémon were cheering and showering the lass with ample praise and confidence boosting statements, all doing their part to help them reign triumphant! Of course, the researcher and his whole family were mindful of the fact that too MUCH feverant noise would prove to be a hindrance/distraction rather than aid his dear friend, so they themselves accordingly. The empath also took the time to send pointed looks at Zamboni's Pokémon whenever they were about to gain the upper hand again, with Glaceon being on the receiving end of an especially potent Snake like Glare, which must have brought back some dire memories for sure! Enough to trip it up against Braixen's Embers, at any rate (Though it didn't seem to appreciate his help in that regard...)!

As the mystical fox's flames scorched the artic fox's body and secured his dear, blessed, and spectacular friend victory, and she received her Gym Badge from Zamboni, Ventus already magnificent grin become positively INCADESENT. The lingering intense rays from Sunny Day and the pure joy he felt greatly intensified its effectiveness, to such an extent that Michael was beginning to nervously wonder if his master was about to use Dazzling Gleam, despite that being an absurd impossibility! Seeing Nathan and Kirlia give their own congratulations to the newly minted lady of war, the empath couldn't contain his ecstasy any longer. Recalling his Pokémon, Ven raced down the stands towards Shiva, and in a stunningly bold move on his part, picked her up right off the ground and twirled her around, giving them a great big hug and laughing joyfully during the process!

"Shiva, you are a truly marvelous woman! Not only have you claimed supremacy over Zamboni handily in spite of initial hardship, you did all on your first try as well! Even I couldn't manage that feat the first time I face them on the frigid battlefield, so take pride and splendor in your accomplishment today, my friend! Oh, I believe this is a sign for great things to come, for both you and your future engagement against formidable opponents. Ahahahahaha!!!"

Eventually, the sociologist stopped his spinning and let his friend down, allow her to regain her stability/breath for the victory lap she was about to do on the ice rink. He can't wait to she her own skills on the ice, if her performance in battle was any indication of her natural talents!

...and that little show of glee causes Nathan and Kirlia to back away fairly quickly, feeling just a little more uncomfortable for various reasons...

Meanwhile, the gym's doors are completely freaking out due to Porygon-Z's presence...
