[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
Unless you have a Ice Heal to go along with the Lum Berry, you are only thawing out one of your Pokémon Dragonstrike. That is a rather nasty move when the Freeze Effect procs, since it nabs both Pokémon instead of just one...

Doesn't matter, still fun! (Even if Shiva looses, nevermind) Then it'll be just 2vs2.

If only that Swift had dealt even 1 damage...then Nathan would be in a much better position right now since that Powder Snow wouldn't have gone off...ah well...

Nathan is loaded with lots of useful items, fortunately.

I've actually been having Pokemon keep the initiatives of their replacement...maybe I should change that to be more fair? Then one Pokemon couldn't get the drop on someone for the entirety of the battle from just one roll.
If I make this change, sending out the same Pokemon (eg when Staryu comes back) they'll keep their previous roll.

Yup, stocked up on every single kind of status healing item and a couple potions for a reason.  Shame Full Heals and Lum berries are a little expensive, but when you're both Frozen and Paralyzed, I'd say that's good reason to use your only full status recovery item.

I will say that according to the writers on the forums, pokemon have to make a new initiative roll EVERY time they reenter the battle.

You suggestion is how Windos does it in Celadon, though.  There's pros and cons to all three methods for initiative.

Here's the forum post in question that mentions the writers' intention: https://muut.com/pokerole#!/questions:ho...-initiativ

When you calculated the damage of Night Slash and Pursuit, did you factor in Callam's STAB and Dark Glasses into their base damage, or just left that out on purpose? Nathan has 3 STR if I remember correctly, so each move would deal 7D6 + 1 Damage for Pursuit (9D6 + 1 if Grinder decides to switch Jynx out), 8D6 Damage for Night Slash (10D6 if the moves Crits) with both STAB and DGs. Unless you have just 2 STR, then its those totals above - 1.

I did, and then I also factored in the opponent's defense of 2 reducing the potential damage.  That's the part you missed.

Yup, I do the Ini rolls that way, since I don't want either player nor NPC set back or put ahead the entire encounter, but I don't want to bother with re-rolling Inis for Switches. Keeps the fights dynamic (To a point), and hopefully prevents either side from getting too comfortable with their turn advantage!
