Baby Absol tries to follow Nathan/Kirlia on his way out, but Calam gently turns him aside, and Shiva picks him up.

Shiva could hear the young Absol whining silently in her arms as he watches Nathan and his Pokemon go, but tried to calm him by bringing him closer to herself for comfort and carefully stroking over one side of the white fur on his head. It still felt very soft and pleasant. "It'll be fine, little one... You will certainly see both of them again one day." At least, she hoped so... What if the Absol fails the mission? It was still so young and precious... But... Let's not get gloomy here, things will be fine and having faith in the training of this feline purposely to fulfill his tasks were a way better choice.

As Nathan left and Ventus too is clearly out of earshot, Shiva came just a little closer to Gola and lowered her voice nevertheless. "You... Or rather, bot of you, you'll inform me when the mission begins or even how things go, will you? Me and the others will travel to Stair City next anyway, but being informed would be a valuable benefit if we'd happen to head down to the Almanac's HQ as well. Which, actually, will prety surely happen if I look at how I know my travel companions by now."

"We'll keep you as up to date as we can. A lot of it is out of our hands now."

Heh.  Well then, Starmie's paralyzed and frozen, Grid's frozen and about to fall asleep...this was certainly quite the conundrum.  

If he didn't have more pokemon to use, that is.  

"Calam, take Grid's place so he doesn't fall asleep (does that make sense if he's frozen solid, though?) and cover Starmie!  Starmie, evade if you're attacked and attempt to use Recover to heal yourself!"  Nathan uses that Lum Berry he's had since Route 01 to cure all of Starmie's statuses as well.

Calam (These orders actually depend on what Calam's initiative is.  Total of 3 actions)

- If Calam is moving first (initiative roll of 5 or 6), he'll use Pursuits on Jynx, then non-lethal Night Slashes on Quagsire after Jynx is removed from the battle.

- If Calam moves after Jynx but before Quagsire (initiative roll of 4), then he'll Quick Attack Jynx until she's removed from the battle, then non-lethal Night Slash Quagsire.

- If Calam is moving after both of them (initiative roll of 3 or lower), Quick Attacks all around.  Except if Jynx is removed from the battle by the first action, Calam will use Night Slash on Quagsire for the second action instead of Quick Attack.

And if both targets go down before Calam's used all of his actions, the third action will be to start charging Razor Wind.

All moves he's using have a base accuracy pool of 9 D6.  Quick Attack does 3 D6 damage, Pursuit 5 D6 +1 Damage, Night Slash 6 D6.

Starmie (2 actions here)

Evade: 8 D6 - 2 Pain - 2 Actions = 4 D6

Recover
Accuracy: 8 D6 - 2 Pain - 2/3 Actions = 4/3 D6
Effect: Recovers up to half of Starmie's max HP. (is it going to be rounded up or down?)

And if Starmie didn't evade before using Recover, it'll use Swift as the second action.

I think a frozen Pokemon can fall asleep, since they're described as being in a physical block of ice. They're still aware.



Calam's initiative: (5) Since he has the higher dex, he wins first action. I suppose the same is true if he kept Grid's roll.

Sorry for that, it's just that it came a little unexpected, being a specied I recommended as well as seeing how pleasantly this young one played and enjoyed some free time alongside this Kirlia must have gotten me... It's fine though. I hope whoever is responsible will take good care of him. Now..." At that point, Shiva gave a last warm hug to the young Absol before carefully and slowly seetting him down to the ground and forcing herself not to look down to the feline in a sad expression, but instead face Golda. "Well, I'll just trust in both of you, whoever is responsible him now and the Absol herself that things will be fine. Whenever - and if at all - I'll see him again, I'll surely remember both of you and this meeting."

"Great job Calam.  Attempt a Swords Dance and charge that Razor Wind since you have the opportunity (he only used one action there, so let's make the most of the remaining two)!  I've got an Awakening with your name on it, so don't worry about falling asleep!"

Nathan preps the Awakening for Calam, and also gets ready to use an Ice Heal on Grid.  Being Frozen isn't a fun experience for any pokemon, and healing it at the soonest opportunity is usually recommended.

You didn't issue a command for Swords Dance, so that won't happen this round. But Razor Wind was a conditional, so that is charging!

Rivergrinder sends out Timburr and Forretress! Timburr immediately tosses some logs into the stream and begins running on them, keeping them in place against the current!
