BTW, I only figured Nathan could go apathetic because of how much Will he had (4+ for him to do it seems about right to me for now). And doing it willingly, well...that's going to take a massive, massive toll on him since it both shuts down his outer emotions and splits his personality.

This is something Nathan's not done before as well, so he's pushed himself a little too far...

Alright... This battle was not even worth for collecting some XP in my and Windos' case. Nevertheless, I'll use some of the gained XP to level up in Crafts now. Maybe the Crafts of keeping oneself together and endure to make it not completely random.

Congrats, Phantom.  You guessed half of my intended outcome for the aftermath.  I was going to have Nathan pass out regardless of the outcome of the battle. 

So, how will Kirlia, Calam, Heart, Ventus, and Shiva react?

I waiting to see whether or not Shiva will respond to Ven's offer, and whether or not by that point in time they'll still be around to witness Nathan passing out. I sure as heck know that Ven would rush over and help carry them back to the Pokémon center, but if Shiva wants to leave right away without checking on Nate, then its up to his Pokémon and Heart to come to his rescue.

@Iron, I agree with Phantom on this sentiment: the Pokemon XP distribution seems disproportionally scewed towards Nathan's side of the question, with Shiva's and Ven's Pokémon receiving less than 1/3 of his total Poke XP. While we did forfeit and lose two Pokémon, things were fairly even between all of us overall: its just that when Raphael fainted in one bloody round, my own enjoyment and will to fight was GREATLY diminished, so I said to myself 'Not worth it,' and just asked for an out. The low XP for my Pokémon is just another blow to it at this point, but it still smarts to see that being dallied out.

It wasn't even a 'typical battle' for me and Ventus, Iron. We had to go through lots to somehow make it a friendly battle, endure the atmosphere and withstand a chance against Nathan's Pokemon; and quite honestly, I'm feeling a little bad that this doesn't seem to get rewarded.


Huh, @Lord Windos, what do you mean by 'waiting for Shiva to respon on your offer'? If you mean your request to get to the Pokemon Center, I adressed this in my latest pots in Game Thread. Shiva DOES want to leave right away and gave you her blue mouse to heal her up, especially since Kirlia already handles Nathan enough.

Agreed, for the most part. I enjoyed the battle until the dice decided to gang up and steal my will to continue the battle with their cruel actions, but Ventus had to go through a hell of a lot of effort to keep Shiva calm/not icy witch/stable, monitor Nate's chaotic state AND try his damnest to at least maintain the pretense that this was a happy, friendly battle, and not a test of wills or some calculated experiment on Nathan's part. 2 or 3 more XP for our Pokémon would at least put as around half of Dragon's total gains, and not feel TOO inadequate to him; we did lose, after all, so we should get to much more than that.

Alright, then I'll edit my post to say that Ventus left straight away to the center, instead of leaving it hanging for your character to react. Sorry for the confusion! Of course, this means that Nathan only has Callam and Heart to help ferry him back to the Pokémon Center, and that our characters will remain oblivious about this.

Ok, I just read over the game thread again, and have discovered that apparently Kirlia decided to get everyone's attention, much to my surprise. Ven wouldn't ignore a sharp noise like that, even if he was actively trying to ignore Nathan for his own 'contentness' while walking away, so I guess my character IS going to react to Nathan's collapse after all. Oh well.

Yes, he does. Stilling editing the post, but that much is already written and planned for, so your character is free to go!

You have to think of it this way: trainer XP/Pokemon XP
Your team gained 6XP/10Xp.
Nathan's team gained 8XP/16XP.
It's always going to feel low when one team is two people. That's the nature of the beast.

I'll give you each an extra Pokemon XP though. That brings it up to as if you had defeated 3 of Nathan's Pokemon. Since the battle was under harsher strictures than normal.
