[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
(Well...okay then.)

Congratulations.  You won.  How does it feel?

'...'

They're purposely walking away from you now.  Together.  You're the instrument of your own downfall.

'...'

That's why they aren't as close to you.  And that's the way it will always be.  Why they persist in calling you a friend, I do not know.  So...

What will you do?

'...'

Nathan's holding his head in both his hands in pain now.  The headache is unbearable now.

He doesn't know what to do, what he could say.

He understands a little better now what he'd been missing.

...but it's too much for him to ponder after pushing himself so far to find it out.

He falls to his knees, head still in his hands, his split personality becoming one again as the apathy fades...

...and then everything goes black.  He doesn't even know he's hit the ground...

He lands squarely in Kirlia's lap, much as Abra once sheltered Shiva. Kirlia is even more in tune with his master, naturally. Kirlia whistles loudly and piercingly, making sure those walking away know what's going on, but that's all the attention he spares for those who are not Nathan.
Kirlia makes Nathan as comfortable as possible, and places one cool hand on his brow.

Calam looks on mostly disinterestedly, but there's a bit of "I told you so" in his mien.

That one word Ventus spoke... 'Enough'...sounded like a call from the heavens personally to her. It ends. Enough. No more.

(How about a theme for all this? Hardly more than a crack in this Castle of Glass. Memento.)

...Why? How did things developed into this direction? Why was this all happening, and what was Nathan thinking at all, why did Kirlia kept such a close watch on them? Where was the friendlyness promised, where was the helping factor, why DID A FRIEND put her through this at all? Was she doing anthing wrong? Questions over questions, an no single answer that's bring a little light to the darkness. No pleasant cozy darkness, but instead a figurative dark night during New Moon. However, neither of that mattered much now. The match has been quitted by the person who aided her through this all and hasn't even lost his cheer the whole time - until now. Seeing Ven in that...displeasure against the whole thing and probably even to the person on the other side of the battlefield - Shiva kept her gaze averted from them for now - was almost scary, and only added more fuel to the cold flames of initial disappointment.

"Ven, no... NO. LET ME GO. I don't want to... I don't desire to get to know now why this all happened, and what we did wrong... Just let me go for tonight. Leave me alone for a little, please... I won't do any harm to me, just let me be for a little. I'll be better in the fresh air outside, I'll only wander a little through town for the sake of wandering and calm down a little hopefully..."

Plusle, on his part, was still giving out some harmless sparks from his place on his Master's shoulder, but now that Shiva was free to concentrate on others things that the battle, she picked that that the sparks were slightly tickling to her, going down every nerve track like a natural electrotherapeutics. He calmed down a little and playfully nuzzled his Master without actually using the attack. Azurill, still comfy in her top hat, looked to her Master, worried what was wrong about the happy and playful Master that promised to help her evolve into a cute Marill... Shiva was returning the gaze of her blue mouse; and now that the battle has finally ended, she had a hard time to not give in to tears. Give her a break, anyone. In a slow movement, she handed the top hat with the blue mouse to Ventus, same with the Pokeball coded to the mouse. "Here. Take her with you to the Center, get her healed up when I can't. Can you do that for me, please?" Then, after returning Ven's gaze for just a few moments in nothing but true appreciation as well as in a quiet voice "I gladly come over to you later and sleep over in your room. I'll return to the Center when I'm feeling a little better, I promise."

From the corner of the eyes, Shiva also did pick up that Nathan got down, but did she care much about that right now? This time, no.

(Alright @Iron, now that Shiva is wandering a little through familiar and beloved Ginger Town only with her mind and an Electric rodent on her shoulder, it's time to bring out that battle for her, please. As said, 2vs2 Double Battle without items or fainting, the NPCs can gladly have a Dark Type bar Umbreon, since the Umbreon in Shiva wouldn't enjoy facing a rival now when it needs to get some tension canalized into more pleasant directions. Braixen and Nightshade will fight for me, does a wager of 500$ sound alright?)

(I won't reply to it today anymore though, since heading to bed then.)

Heart desperate go out from his hight ground. He did see Nathan go fall down and all the sadness scene its happens. He could feel the sadness, disapointed, and anger all the three feel. He dont call Heart for nothing. Heart along with his Pokemon finally reach and finally reach Shiva, Ventus and Nathan.

"What happen to him? What his state?" Heart pick up along with Rose Nathan to help drag Nathan to the Pokemon Center. Monferno is famous by his physical strengh, so he thanks Arceus to bring out his Pokemon. "We must bring him to the Pokemon Center. Where is the mostly close one?"

Heart take the chance to check his state.

Mechanical: See any wealty status from Nathan to see what happen to him.
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.

Kirlia looks in Shiva's direction as she wanders off to sort herself out.  He feels rather sad that she's not sticking around to help Nathan...but he gets that she's pretty messed up right now herself...reading her hadn't been easy.  He just hopes Nathan won't take her displeasure with him too hard...

When Ventus rushes over, Kirlia breathes a sigh of relief...well, at least one of those two cared enough right now to help...though Kirlia could technically Teleport with Nathan to the Center, he was rather tired from the battle and Starmie was still out of its pokeball, providing some light to counter the encroaching darkness.  It illuminates Calam eerily as he approaches the edges of the circle of light with Heart.

Kirlia nearly gives Heart another nasty glare, but merely sighs instead.  Four hands would be far better than two...even if one of those pairs was poking their nose in places where it didn't belong...

Calam's standing guard around the edges of the light.  There could be many things in the darkness, waiting to prey on vulnerable targets...they'd have to get through him first, though.

The sociologist gives Heart a grateful look for his assistance, as more aid is almost always an excellent thing to have, and lets out his own sigh of relief when Kirlia decide to act pragmatically in this situation, rather than pursuing any sort of retribution. "From what I gathered, the battle against us and the...way he handled it put far too much strain on his mind, painfully exhausting him and eventually causing him to pass out. He's in stable condition right and physically unharmed, so I would say that he'll make a partial to full recovery by this morn. Of course, I'm not a medical doctor, so let's make haste to the Pokémon Center and get him properly examined by the Nurse on hand, just in case. Ginger Town only has one PC, if I recall correctly, and its not a lengthy distance from here, so let us all proceed to it."

(Iron, I believe that with Heart's and Rose's help, they should be able to get him to the Pokémon Center quickly, so what happens next afterwards [Besides Shiva's double battle, I mean])

The men and the Pokemon carry Nathan back to the Pokemon Center, strictly supervised by Kirlia. Nurse Joy and Chansey come out with a stretcher to take him inside. There are a lot of people and Pokemon inside already, but she spares a moment to check up on him.

"Everything physically seems fine. He didn't get hit by any strange attacks, did he? Well, my diagnosis is just severe stress...some kind of pyschosomatic trauma. That means the origin is inside his head, but it has very real physical symptoms. I'll put him in a room with a bell, and I can check on him when he awakens. Rest is probably the most important thing for him right now. He may need to see a specialist; we'll find out tomorrow."

Shiva is stopped on the outskirts of town by the appearance of a light. She creeps closer, and sees a tent on the old festival grounds. A blue campfire burns beneath a cauldron! Two figures in pointy hats and tattered clothing walk around the cauldron, throwing items into the pot. To Shiva's eye, these items are probably not really potent, they're just designed to look that way - Meowth hair, red clay, colored water. They seem to be having fun though.

A Vullaby perches on the lip of the cauldron, laughing and crowing at the sky! This whole ordeal seems to be for his benefit. The baby bird Pokemon is delighted by these antics, which are probably a nightly tradition for the two "witches."

Having convinced herself they are harmless, Shiva introduces herself and requests a battle - no items, no fainting, 2v2 double battle, $500. They agree!

"My name's Toil," says the first woman. "This Vullaby belongs to me. She's just a baby! Raised her from an Egg. Gotta keep those babies happy, you know!"

"And I'm Trouble," says the second woman. "This cauldron is mine. It delights little Vullaby. Come on out, Lampent!" The ghostly blue fire resolves itself into the gaslamp Pokemon. "Let's go!"

Nightshade (6) +5 = 11
Braixen (5) +5 = 10
Vullaby (5) + 2 dex + 2 survival = 9
Lampent (4) +4 = 8

I'll be on the road this weekend. Expect infrequent updates.

"No, he did not. I'm aware of this condition, and the cause of his blackout was due to pushing himself far past his mental limits in a battle against myself and another friend of ours, though he was stressed prior to the engagement as well, so I suppose our battle only magnified an underlying issue. I'll be in my dorm, and if when he wakes up, can you inform me his overall condition, and whether or not he wants or can have company? As for specialist care, I recommend his Kirlia assist them if possible, as they share a powerful mental and empathetic bond with them, and so would know what problems need to be resolved in an expedient manner."
