[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
(09-28-2017, 08:45 AM)Lord Windos Wrote: Being a researcher of all varieties of Pokémon, Valder's news about an Albino Donphan was a rather fascinating specimen for Ven, since Albinoism in Pokémon species was almost equal in rarity to Shinys and were versitle/strong combatants to boot. He wanted to further inquire into the matter with his mercenary (And offer his assistance in catching it, perhaps), but his dear friend Shiva beat him to the metaphorical punch as she swiftly took over the conversation, and in the end decided to save his question for a latter date. If Valder's statement about the off color elephant following him around were true, he would get gain the opportunity to conduct his own investigation on it sometime in the future, or so he hoped.

"Hmm....how intriguing! I would love to get the chance to study it for myself/record its behavior , but if its skittish around humans as you say it is, then that task might be infeasible unless we both work together to correl/capture it. Oh well. We'll be leaving for Stair City shortly, as I believe that everyone in the group wishes to get started before daylight wanes completely away, so how about it my compatriot? Unless you have some unfinished business in Ginger, I foresee no reason to stay here any longer than we already have, so let us depart for new horizons!"

 Valder smiled vaguely. "Yes, please"

Route 04 takes you southwest of Ginger Town. First it goes through a farmer's field, where you glimpse a few Hoppip snoozing in the early stems of wheat.

Then you cross a beautiful stone bridge across the Great River Greenbrier, and your journey on one of the most famous routes in Creshire begins. This portion is called the High Road, built of mounded rubble and nicely paved with packed sand and gravel. It's a civilized route, perhaps overly civilized. Elemental Pokemon are usually pretty rare here, though sometimes Pokemon are available for purchase from the vendors who set up tents in the wide spaces along the routes.

The steep sides of the High Road slide down to a thin berm or shoulder carved through the Great Divide, a long mountain range dividing Creshire neatly in twain.

Berry check at Survival -1.
Shiva: (6) Shiva finds a Chesto Berry.
Ventus: (5)(1) Ventus finds an Oran Berry
Nathan: (2)(4) Nathan finds a Pecha Berry

When leaving Ginger Town and the Daycare, Shiva's mood certainly got a litte better, at least the feeling of gloomy surrender was not overtaking anymore. Seeing some of her beloved Hoppip sleeping in the peaceful field helped on this, and for one moment she felt like she would like nothing better than just join and get a few more hours of sleep while soaking up some natural Vitamin D. Or actually not, because the sky was overcast... She missed the forecast for the day, but hoped it won't rain.

Welp, the Guidebook did not lie. Route 4 was indeed everything else than she expected - not bewildered hiking trail with hordes of wild Pokemon while being overshadowed by the mountains, but instead a civilized path. Nothing reminds of the crime that is embedded in the stones of the path, and it's certainly better this way.

Cottonee, still floating close beside her Master, was just a little bit disappointed by the little nature this Route provided.

Route 04: The King's Road

Sign Text: A road to both tragic endings and new beginnings.

Nathan's moving ahead of the rest of the group, Kirlia close to his side.  He's not really paying too much attention to the shops around the beginning of this route.  How he spots a pecha berry bush is beyond even his understanding.  He's in very quiet thought as he progresses down this incredibly historic route.  Thinking about the history behind it is a welcome distraction from...everything else, really.

While Nathan's mostly oblivious to his surroundings, he is still paying a small amount of attention.  In fact, he sees something glinting in his peripheral vision at one point...hmmm...wonder what it could be?

One valuable item, coming right up!  More cash never hurts, right?

Upon setting out from Ginger Town and entering into the Route 4 buffer zone, Ventus had a warm, radiant smile on his face as he took in the opens trails and semi-domesticated wilderness. The warm morning sun, the cool, refreshing breeze that swept through his hair, the earthen scent of the trail....all of it invigorated him, dispelling some of the underlying tension that he'd been carrying ever since yesterday afternoon.

'I know I will eventually have to find a way resolve the aftermath of that....interesting battle, aiding Shiva in fully recovering from the ordel and get Nate to open up a bit more once he has regained some stability. For now, though, I just want to enjoy this glorious morning, and have a little time for respite myself; I believe Reshirim can forgive me for that bit of selfishness,' the empath thought, walking along the trail and interposing himself between the boy and lass, as to forstall them for potentially conflicting from one another. Truly, he was not exactly cut out for the role of mediator (He was more of a protector/guarden, really), but one must be willing to fulfill the duties that are thrust upon them, if they wish to preserve what they value above all else...

Once everyone made some headway along the route and took short break, splintering off to explore the area for Pokémon/treasure or enjoy their free time however they like, Ventus decided to properly limber up and hunt/savage the area with Lucifer to see if they couldn't turn up anything particularly Rare, before recalling them and making his way to small tributary to the Greenbrair River to do a bit of angling. Apsis took the liberty of releasing themselves from their Pokeball and coiling around him while he fished, both to protect him from whatever he managed to bring out of the drink, and to have first chance to snap up anything that her master didn't want to catch. Its been awhile since her last warm, filling meal, and fish was always a favored treat she indulged in, *Hiss!*

Additionally, he also took the time to go over to the Steel Move Tutorer and have Lucifer  learn Iron Tail for $1500 Poke! If their performance against that trainer's Snorunt taught him anything, its that his little devil needs all the help he can get against the types that which prove to be his bain!

Order: First go after the Rare Item with Lucifer as a way to both acquire it for myself and hone up on their own treasure hunting skill, before heading to the river with Apsis to catch some Pokémon/meals. He'll be using the Gyarados Gut to bait his line, as he is quite curious to see how that will modify the result of his fishing. Also, he'll spend $1500 Poke to have Lucifer to learn Iron Tail, as the bat needs the coverage and its right their for the taking. This is rather nice place altogether, I must say!
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

Ventus (or Lucifer, more probably) finds a necklace hidden among the stones of the street. His lore cannot identify it, but after a bit of experimenting, he realizes this necklace can temporarily replace any Pokemon's ability with Serene Grace! If used on a purely negative ability , it adds Serene Grace without removing the drawback - this is for things like Klutz and Truant, not things like Hustle or No Guard.

Fishing: 3 Survival + Gyarados Gut

(2)(1)(3) + Gut

You don't get a very rare Pokemon - but it's a big one! You've reeled in an Oversized Slowpoke!
