[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

I have two minerals that can be forged with Ancient Power to make a King's Rock, I can probably find someone in Stair City willing to preform the service, and Slowpoke evolves into the rare and powerful Slowking when traded with it. The Slowpoke in question is also Overgrowned. Put both together, and you get quite the commodity to trade away for money/profit!

Oh yeah, right...the one thing Nathan never, ever wants to do to a wild pokemon.  Combined with a forced trade evolution on top of it...great...

At the very least, Slowpoke is not going to die a slow and horrible death by being devoured by giant snake, in addition to finding a trainer that will appreciate/care for the Slowpoke to the fullest AND gaining access to an Evolution that just benefits it overall. Which is better, death or being traded away for something nice? Plus, what doesn't Nate know will not hurt him, now will it?

Must be his Chreshire-nature? I see actually nothing wrong with the choice, even if it's something Shiva wouldn't do either, but she certainly has other reasons than Nathan might have.

Yes, it is in part due to his Creshirean habits.  It's also in part due to his study of history.  Nathan has a deep, deep respect for ALL pokemon as individuals.  Most of the time, anyways (he still has to figure out what to do with that Zubat he caught, after all...).

There's nothing necessarily wrong with the choice since selling and trading pokemon can be a respectable occupation with some nice profit attached, but Nathan very, very heavily dislikes it for the most part.

That sounds comprehensible. And true, I began to wonder why you caught that Zubat at all with that belief kept in mind, since we haven't seen it once yet. :/

Wait a moment. I just read its entry, and remember that this Pokémon loves history/lore/legends, and Nathan is very much into that as well. Considering that we are going to be investigating the Skull Ruins and Ancient Cheshire at some point, keeping the Slowking seems to be a more appealing idea now. Plus, 6 HP and great starting moves make it mighty fine addition as a switch in to Ven's team. Would Nathan/SHiva like having such a Pokémon on their team, though....? Or should I just keep it and let it do whatever/guide it? Hmm...

Also, since Piloswine starts out with Ancient Power, what stopping it from evolving into a Mamoswine right now, @Iron (Besides it being a terrible Idea for disobedience shake.)?

A Slowking would certainly suit Nathan better then Shiva in my view.

Nathan was apathetic and thinking logically at the time, so his beliefs came second to the logical conclusion that Mallorn might want to analyze the zubat since it could be the result of some kind of experiment.

Nathan would probably very much enjoy having such a knowledgeable pokemon companion, actually.  As long as you can convince him to take Slowpoke, that is, instead of arguing for its release back into the wild.  If Slowpoke shows a rather clear preference of wanting to get away from Ventus (considering what Ventus is planning, that seems pretty likely...), but doesn't show a desire to leave the group, then Nathan will probably take it.  (there could be other ways to convince Nathan, though...)

Though he does already have Starmie on his team that he's rather attached to, but Slowking seems like the perfect kind of pokemon for a history enthusiast like Nathan. Particularly considering the amount of dirt Nathan's got on the major regions in his journal. A Slowking would probably be VERY happy with reading all of that information.
