I'm wondering how Ventus want to kill a big Pokemon as Tangrowth though, as the knife is still in Shiva's possession. I fear she might not enjoy that Ven goes that far, so unless he finds a way to bypass that or do it unnoticed from everyone around OR you start a XP bidding war to get to your will...
Fainting them all and then let the citizans and/or the Almanac Scientists deal with them would be more enjoyable for me.

Then, I will say this: He'll still kill them, because at THAT point, Nathan is just letting his sentimentality hold him back doing what needs to be done. At least, that is what Ven believes at this point. Unless Nathan decides to capture them all before Ven gets the chance, which my character is fine with too, since they are taken care of that way as well.

We have Pokémon that can still attack the mass of vines until they stop moving, so stabing them with a knife isn't necessary really. He'll stand by his argument at this point, because based on what he see leaving them alive will just result in the Vines restoring them to life/hiding them away until they recover enough to start shepherding them again. Unless, of course, everyone decides to capture them.
He also doesn't want Almanac to get a hold of such strong/abnormal Pokémon for their own dubious ends, so he'd be incentivized to kill them all the more if presented that counter argument.

Then you'll end up having to bid XP.

Windos, remember how you should please not use your chara as explanation? :C So, uhm, I'd prefer that you'll listen to Shiva and abstain from this when killing the foe comes into play.
EDIT: Or indeed start bidding XP!

Understood. I don't want to, but I'm willing to do so in this case.
@ PhantomUnderYourDesk: I'm legitimately NOT in this case, guys. Ventus has grounded, logical, non-character reasons to want these things dead, beginning with that they are all currently trying to gank the party for unknown reason, and ending with the fact that he saw them guide the vines onward towards Stair City/past the anti Vine stones. Its not THAT unreasonable, is it, to take care of a threat before it has a chance to grow worse?

I certainly see the reasons why Ven decides to go that far, and outta-chara I have no issues at all with that. But please warn Shiva before you do so and explain why you did that, okay? This will lessen the blow to a good degree and prevent any uncomfortable aftermaths.
However, if if that Claydol can be caught, please let me do so before murdering it. You're fine with this, @ Dragonstrike?

Right, this doesn't fall under the purview of a random jerk move, just a standard party ideals disagreement. XP bidding is the exact solution.

Oh, Ventus just wants to murder/capture those Tangrowth, while Kingdol is something he wants to capture/someone to capture due to being a figure of importance. Sorry for not clarifying!

How about an alternative suggestion: we let the authorities handle the Tangrowth that we don't capture? We're close enough to the city that it won't take them too long to get there and remove them from the scene.
Nathan won't object to catching any of these pokemon, btw.
