K, @ Iron, since I'll get off now, first sight to visit in Stair for Shiva and Ven is the Fountain, so you can send in the Area Description please/have them auto-arrive there after Heart and Ven greeted Shiva back/replied anything if they like. I hope Azu enjoys the place as well, first thing Shiva will do is check the table which Water-Type Pokemon are not listed to have contributed water to the fountain yet (if the records are displayed at all, that is).

Gonna need to know where Helios ends up Teleporting to with Nathan (Ginger Town, Vapor Falls, somewhere else nearby?) before I can determine where to go from there, @ Iron.

Well, we're dealing with big, scary, totally not natural vines that are threatening to cover the entire region, and only summoning the Lake Trio (and maybe some other Legendaries?) is going to be able to stop it. And Nathan's the only one who really understands what's going on so far, so a group meeting was kinda going to happen eventually.
I can think of another way to stop the vines that doesn't involves Legendary Pokémon Intervention, though it can be argued to be just as extreme: shelling the Skull Ruins with all the highest grade military ordinance the region has to offer, and then some. Willy Pete, Naplam, Highest Grade Explosives, Bunker Busters (To hit the underground portions of the Ruins), Biochemical Weapons, srapnal bombs, carpet bombing, concentrated doses of the most Lethal Poison type toxins known to man, etc ....all of these and more could reeeeaaaally do a number on pesky weeds of any kind, and most likely obliterate any and all dubious/malicious secrets still buried in such a place. Worst comes to worst and that doesn't work....well, perhaps the Cheshire Govement would need to get into talks with Tandor about their supplies of Uranium, and the potential applications thereof.
Of course, this is assuming the Leagues have developed such horrifyingly effective means of slaying their fellow man, but even if most of the above stuff I listed doesn't exist conventionally, I doubt they don't have SOME form of Extreme Military Hardware designed for containment/defense purposes.

Yeah...that's probably not going to happen...the Skull Ruins are BIG. And right next to both of the capitals. The amount of risk involved in such tactics would be through the roof.

Well, I practically said that inflicting the worst that mankind can offer upon was extreme, as that is typically the case when that option is either the first or last resort of actions. Given that the first course is the group finding, freeing, and convincing Legendary Pokémon to come weigh in on the matter, the results of which can range for Deus Ex Machina to Diablos Ex Machina depending on how they get rid of the vines, bombing the Ruins might not be THAT unpalatable course of action. Especially if the Vines escape the Divide and start infesting Ginger Town and the Capital Cities, at which point I imagine the situation has gotten dire enough that Extreme Military Response begins to sound more and more appealing...
Then again, I AM a pessimistic cynic, so I always the worst can happen in the worse terms imaginable, and tend to think that the solution to a problem can be just as problematic sometimes, but in the end necessary, so take what I say here with a grain of salt. Or a whole salt shaker and a few glasses of margaritas, if you need to drink away these horrible ideas!

Well, it's Nathan's first course of action since Mesprit's message suggests that only a lengthy journey and a 'sharer of unselfish love' will be able to stop the vines. And why would he doubt a message from a Legendary?

Maybe because Legendaries' actions and intentions are beyond good or evil.
Also, Windos, since Helios is with Nathan currently, I'll use that Poochyena in my battle instead. C: You mentioning that Ven will not react startled in a fear/dislike towards that creature but rather 'completely baffeled by its mere existence' encouraged this. Whether he cottons on that this must be that weird elusive Pokemon she wanted to keep secret for now (as she told this to Ven at the camp on Route 4) or not, is your call... After our battles a quick stop-by at the Center to give any pained Pokemon into one of the Nurse Joy's care would be very appreciated, before moving on to the Shelter for Disobediant Pokemon.

Nathan's aready well aware of this due to his historical research, and he sorta understands why they put the world's balance before most anything else. He can put his trust in their impartial decisions without having too many issues with them.
And he knows what the Lake Trio can do, as Cynthia would have noted it in her research of Sinnoh's legends (and she witnessed it firsthand): When united, Mesprit, Azelf, and Uxie have enough power to seal the powers of either Dialga or Palkia if their presence would disrupt the world's balance. Probably going to play into how they stop the vines as well.

In the world of Pokemon, conventional weapons fall by the wayside. Even Ventus/Unovans wouldn't have any experience with WMDs. Many of our conventional weapons never even got developed. They'd have dynamite, artillery, and airborne artillery technology but would never have used it.
In the anime a Rock Pokemon can easily shrug off a rocket launcher attack.
Kalos had the Ultimate Weapon, but even that was powered by Pokemon.
So an overkill response from the League, Ventus thinks, would involve massive amounts of Pokemon-related or Pokemon-powered weapons.
