[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

To that end, I seek to increase my understanding of Pokémon through study and interaction, and to use my already existing information and talents to benefit and help  them whenever it is possible. It is part of the reason why I have come here to this Shelter today, besides contributing what little I can as support. I'm more than willing to listen to your story (4 Insight lets him understand Pokémon, to an extent), if you wish to share it with me, and I will offer the best possible advice I can give you. I am at your disposal, Kingdra, so whatever I can provide you with my meager means, I will endevour to do so...."

Order: More formalities/introductions, and an offer to listen to the Sea Dragon's Story/Help them out. Hopefully nothing bad comes of this!

I like the way you think, in terms of capturing the leader. But what I'm most impressed with is not Pokemon commanding Pokemon in imitation of a trainer - that's been known to happen, even in Tandor. But four at once? Impossible, you'd think, for such a mediocre Psychic type."

"History is kinda my thing, if you hadn't figured that out already.  As far as I'm aware, my group was the first to encounter anything commanding those Tangrowth shepherding the vines.  And when the enemy has far too many foot soldiers to fight them reasonably, what choice do you have but to capture the leaders if you hope to stand a chance in the long term?  Particularly when they seem to be incredibly influential leaders.  That Claydol knew what it was doing.  It stayed away from the battle and attacked from afar, fled when we turned our attention to it, organized the ambush in the first place...it only supports my theory that there's something else at work here.  No Claydol in living memory has ever displayed such capabilities before to my knowledge.  Oh, and no, the crown isn't a common thing around here unless the pokemon is known to typically wear something like one, like a Slowking.  A Claydol wearing one is something new."

"Ok. Do all you Creshire natives agree?" *Much nodding of heads.*
"I hope you shared this with Dagny. People, we don't want to start a panic, so use caution when sharing the information you've just learned. You're all skilled trainers, and since most of you are Steel trainers you are the cream of the crop, as we say in Vinoville. $1000 Pokedollars to whoever can bring me a Skull Ruins Claydol or its crown."

Heart heard all that conversation about that Claydol and the reward. He not come there because of that thing of Nathan about "This is not your business, get out". Besides, Sheldon might have other things to do, and Heart will just observe.

"Yes, Dagny knows.  I'm sure she'll tell you all about our discussion later if you ask her about it.  I told the Rangers that came to pick up the Tangrowth my group KOed yesterday as well.

"I don't know if it's just Claydol, or if there are other species wearing those crowns as well.  The crowns should be a giveaway regardless, though.  They're easy to spot, and rather...ominous looking.  I'd recommend traveling in groups, and packing long range attacks that have a lot of power.  If you're going to take down one of those 'mannikin kings' you have to be able to hit it in the first place, take it down before it can flee, and not have to worry about the Tangrowth that will likely be attacking you in larger numbers in a coordinated effort."
"Not a problem for me or Dagny. Now, let's lighten up a bit!" His assistant brings out a little obstacle course and he starts showing off on Gararewl.

The best you get is flashes of emotion relating the progression of its story: Carefree life. Change. Contentment, then happiness. Then an increase in power, pride. Then a burst of anxiety, anxiety, anxiety, then more power, more pride. Then anxiety and pain. Now boredom. Even Ventus is somewhat targeted in that boredom.

Well, it's certainly interesting to see this Steel armored horse-like pokemon moving around with such agility, but it's not completely entertaining for Nathan.  He still wonders how this Gararewl fares in battle, and is just a little bit bored with the display.  He figures it's probably decently strong, but an educated guess isn't the same as actual experience.

Ah well.  Might as well stay and watch until the end regardless.  Not like he had anything better to do right now.

The empath, while he could not truly understand Kingdra like his own Pokémon (Less Bond = Less clear understanding), never the less got the gist of the story of their life: Happy and peaceful in the beginning, then being captured and eventually evolved into a Seadra that must had quite some nervousness issues at that point in their life, before evolving into a Kingdra, running afowl of something (most likely their former owner), and ended with their confinement here. Ventus couldn't help but sympathize with how bored they were in their current existence, most likely due to the nature of its captivity and the lack of action that so many Dragon types craved in their lives, though he does chuckle a bit when he realizes that he's a part of it too now.

"Forgive me for being overly formal with you, Kingdra, but I simply felt that I had to pay proper omage and respect to your power and lineage. As a native of a Dragon type centric city, I know more than most that you and your kin are to be admired for your inherent strength, and be honored for all you have done for us humans. However, I sense I'm not the only thing you find with disinterest around here. Hmm....tell me, if I were to boldly suggest the possibility of you leaving this place to explore the region with someone like myself, taking part in vigorous and challenging battle along the way, would that spark your interests in any fashion?" Ventus replied, gesturing to himself and the exit to the Inmate Room, and by extension, the rest of Cheshire. Time to gauge where he stood with the sea dragon, and perhaps see if he could be of any further help to it...

Order: Suggest the possibility of leaving the place under his care, and see where that leads him. If positive, he'll ask the receptionist the price for the Kingdra, and will most likely have to start plotting how to much that much scratch in a short time, or imploy the knowledge he learned from Firestone. If negative....well, let's hope its not to bad, shall we?

Kingdra shrugs! That's pretty good from such a lordly Pokemon. The Pokemon probably doesn't believe you entirely, but feels it has nothing to lose.

"I can let you have Kingdra for $5500 too. It eats a lot more than Gothitelle, but other than that it's easy to take care of. Its physical needs, I mean."

"Kingdra knows some great moves like Yawn, Twister, Brine, and Dragon Dance."

With his vast knowledge  Dragon types and how colourfully stubborn they tend to be, Ventus knew that his offer went over spectacularly, and inclined their head once more to Kingdra. "Very well, I'll see what I can do from my end to release you from this captivity, and into my own. I'll let leave you be until I have a definite answer on the matter, so until then Kingdra, I wish you the best, and pray for Reshirim and Zekrom to guide you to even greater power," the sociologist said, before walking back towards the receptionist and inquiring about the price of releasing the sea dragon into their ownership. As expect, it was rather costly, but compared to the cost of those Rare Eggs and some of the other purchases he'd seen on his travels, he believes that he could aquire that much money within a week's time, if he worked hard at it.

However, if Firestone's advice proved true.... "That sounds to be more than a fair price, but as may have mentioned earlier, funding most of your research while traveling the region is almost prohibitally costly, so I don't have a lot of Poke to spare, regrettably. If I may, can you arrange for me a meeting with Director North, in order to see if I am eligeble for receive Kingdra for a minimized cost, or if we can't possibily come up with an alternative arrangement that would sastify us both? Not right this moment, since we are in the middle of the tour, but afterward....?"

Order: Continue the tour, and set up a meeting with Director North and try to finagle Kingdra into my party somehow, without autoing my character for a week doing odd jobs around Stair. I'm willing to work for that Kingdra, but if their is an more expedient way...

"You know? Its been while since I have see a Garawel so much close. I pass in Tandor sometimes in the past, but I was busy with other things to do. In comparison with other regions, Tandor is so much rich with culture and use in Nuclear Energy. Tandorians say the land is blessed by the Brothers of Metal, Lanthan and Actan." Say Heart when he aproachs to Nathan. "Howdy. I wasn't sure when to get close. How it was your day Nathan?" Ask Heart, trying to break the ice.

"Day's gone okay, I guess.  Didn't end up accomplishing what I thought I would, but eh.

"I'm familiar with that legend already, you know.  How the three Brothers of Metal were all hatched from an egg laid by Groudon.  How Lanthan hid the precious metals away while Actan taught Tandor how to use the most dangerous ones.  Heh.  Funny how that turned out, really...not sure if that was a good idea on Actan's part, but who am I to judge a Legend for its actions?  It had its reasons, as all of them do, even if we don't know what they are..."

Pretty good way to break the ice, getting Nathan to talk about history.  Not that Heart knows what Nathan's talking about specifically...
