[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
@Lord Windos
---------------------------

During high school years he said... Was he already on his own at that time? Possible, but Shiva didn't wanted to ask. It was fascinating and interesting to hear that he worked in that particular Café for a while, although she can't remember that Sonata had graveyard shifts. Well, Shiva's been there to a late hour a few times, but never that late. „We could always pay Sonata a visit when coming back to Castelia for one reason or the other, if you'd like. And no, haha, I'm not prone to wander the city at night like a Lampent. Spent the nights cuddled up in bed. Stargazing with my telescope from a hill nearby our house. Playing with Spectral. I bet if your smiles were the samle like they are today, you made a decent waiter...“

He spoke about home, how it has a higher place in our hearts... Of course it has. Simply thinking of home made Shiva both a little homesick (not that she wasn't enjoying the journey, but it was simply that she never been physically away from home for so long) and delightful over the place itself. Giving him a silent nod as a reply, before he continued asking about Azurill's former owner. „Have you heared what people tell about that Fountain of Brotherhood we visited today? The water is supposed to be generated by Water Type Pokemon. There are recording of which Water Types have contributed water already and every new Pokemon will be photographed and added to the data alongside its owner, and if you let your Pokemon contribute water and throw a coin to the base of the Fountain, you're allowed to make a wish. Of course I...did so, even if Azurill is no official Water Type yet... But it was when I looked through the database which Pokemon already contributed water when I stumbled over what must be Azurill's fomer owner... I made a picture of the picture. Excuse me for a moment...“ *drawing cell, typing and sliding on its display for a little, before showing the picture of 'the Magician-Trainer' described here to Ventus* „That's him. Azurill didn't really cared about him too much though... She showed that the desires to stay with me as I'm her Master now, and was way more interested in that Azurill. Maybe one day...she'll be one, too... It's so sweet to see how happy she has grown meanwhile.“

As for that bashfulness coming from Shiva... She let it happen that in the end he held her hand. She loosely entangled her fingers with his (but will immediately let go if the waiter arrives with their orders) and enjoyed both the cozy silence and the same anxious-delightful feeling that she had at the camp on Route 4 (after everyone left for bed) that came to her in this moment. He's still seven years older than you are, my dear. That doesn't matter to me. (He can pick this up if he likes)

They probably got the orders served as she spoke up again in a careful yet positive tone of voice. "Ven... Listen... You, ehm, remember how I had the idea to introduce you to my father? Today, you only showed me that it's a good thought.  He (and Mum) deserve to know your person... I, ehm, wanted to videocall Dad anyway today as soon as we're back in the GPC, one of the Nurse Joys told me about the good chance of connecting to Unova due to their technonlogy. What do you think? Introducing yourself would be your call, but I'm actually sure he'll like you."

After the little thing Heart made, he decided to finish go shopping and buy the food to cook for everyone.

Almost any culinary ingredient in the world can be found in Stair City, at any hour! There's shops from all the other regions.

You can get basic meals for "free" (it's not worth quibbling over), and if you spend more money you'll get a more impressive meal.

You can follow a recipe and it will turn out as expected, or if you want to attempt something fancier and impressive you can ask me for a Crafting or Cooking roll, at your option.

"Hmm what should I cook for everyone..."Heart thinks for a second then have a idea. "I know! Perhaps a lasagna of chicken would be a cool choice. Its easy to make and its not too much dificult to make. Lets see if I recall the recipe..." Then Heart begin to search for the ingredients he will do the Lasagna.

(I will send you Iroh the recipe and the image Iroh)

Upon further consideration, you think that Hidden Power was actually Rock type, not Normal. The effect as the Unown faded was like the shattering of a stone wall, and obviously the Fighting type would have been SE.

Sheldon Round 3

Disobedience: (6) vs (3)(1)

"Daikatuna, Quick Attack! Hm, go easy you say? Ok, Feint Attack! But make it a double if necessary."

Slowking sends his strongest Water Gun angling toward the fish. He takes the extra second to absorb as much fuel as possible, letting it out with force just before Daikatuna fades.

Water Gun
(6)(3)(1)(4)
(6)(5)(1)(1) Daikatuna takes 1 dmg 3/9hp -2 pain.

Feint Attack cannot miss and has +1 dmg, so this is game over for Solomon. He goes off to dreamland with a smug look on his face. While fainted, his crown shows basically no sign of the etching on it.

As Orthros comes out to face Daikatuna, the crowd including Sheldon gasp as one. "Wow. Brainoar genes? Skull removal surgery? What is up with that...it's a Houndour, right? Well, my Pokemon are probably all new to you, so I guess it's only fair that Creshire would find a Pokemon that can surprise me!"

The rest of the crowd is really superstitious of this monstrosity, and backs up.

Orthros remains calmly at Nathan's side, already acting the part of loyal dog in a manner learned psychically from Nathan's past and the training of Nathan's other Pokemon.

Initiative: (5) So once again, Nathan is going first.

The cafe's specialty is a light crepe. They can fill it with desertlike things or with hearty filling. Either way, I'd expect these two would still have a little room for more food tonight at the GPC, should the opportunity arise.

Sheldon Round 4

"Wrong on both counts, Sheldon.  I'll tell you a bit more about him after our battle.  Assuming you're interested in hearing about him, of course.  I'm actually very loosely familiar with most of your pokemon, but this is my first time seeing them in person.  I've got a few questions of my own about some of the pokemon you have registered in that 'dex, so I'd say we have a fair exchange of information in the works."

"Oh, and like I said, Orthros has been cooped up for 2 weeks.  Mostly due to safety concerns, both for him and those around him.  He's really loyal once you've earned his trust, though, and there shouldn't be any cause for concern about him misbehaving (this part is mostly stated for the crowd's peace of mind).  I'd appreciate it if Daikatuna didn't just outright maul him, by the way, since this is his first battle with me, much like with Solomon.  Plus, I'd still like to see what your other pokemon is capable of, so I'd hate to see this battle cut short because I'm clearly completely outmatched."

Nathan scratches Orthros behind the ears.  "Good boy.  Alright, let's go get 'em, shall we?  This is going to be tough, but I'm sure you'll give Sheldon here a good showing, right?  How about you show me a few good Embers?  Do be careful if you see some really powerful attacks coming, though."

Ember x3
Accuracy: 3 Dex + 3 Fight + 2 Canalize - 3/4/5 Actions = 5/4/3 D6
Damage: 2 Power + 3 Strength + 1 STAB - 4 Defense = 2 D6
Effect: Burn 1 (1 D6 chance)

One Conditional Evasion (If a powerful attack, like a Water move or Iron Head, is incoming)
3 Dex + 3 Fight + 2 Evade - 3/4/5 Actions = 5/4/3 D6

Sheldon Round 4

Ember
(6)(4)(5)(4)(4) Critical hit.
(1)(3)(4)(6)
Chance: (5) Daikatuna takes 2 dmg 1/9hp -3 pain

"Give the Houndour a chance to breathe! Oo, I looove how its brain pulses when it heats up!"

Swords Dance
4 Dex + 4 Fight + 0 Perform -3 actions -3 pain
(4)(6)
+2 Str for Daikatuna

For the swordfish, a Swords Dance involves a swooping, dolphinlike motion, diving up through thin air and splashing back down with a forceful wind.

"Actually, hold up. I'm not going to let my Pokemon faint because it's going easy on you. Daikatuna, come back, you're forfeiting! Just FYI, I was planning to use False Swipe, a TM move for Daikatuna. Good job, Houndour!"

Sheldon sends out Tracton! The Pokemon you saw on the poster for Shuckleball looks much more ferocious in real life.

Sheldon's Tracton snaps its jaws at Orthros. "Be very careful, Tracton. This dog is missing the crown of its skull - or is that an illusion? - so we must be careful. And it's new, apparently. But you will still try to win."

Initiative: (5) Orthros goes first.

"Hmmm...Tracton, eh...believe it or not, I came VERY close to getting one of those myself a few weeks ago.  Nearly won one in a game of Shuckleball.  Got a Porygon instead, but it's still a pretty good grab.  Dragon and Steel, very powerful, very unruly...that's one of the few Tandorian pokemon I know a bit about since it can be very rarely found here.  Looks very little like the pictures of it I've seen around here, though...hmmm...how odd...pay no mind to Orthros's forehead, though. "

"Well, I take it that's one of your more powerful pokemon?  Alright then.  Orthros, lower its accuracy a little, then get to work hitting it with Embers whenever you have an opportunity!

Smokescreen and Knockdown followed by an Ember for Round 5. Knockdown once per round if Tracton isn't knocked over, and Smokescreen once per round as well until it hits. Ember fills all remaining actions. Let's see if Orthros can pull through!

Smokescreen
Accuracy: 3 Dex + 3 Fight + 2 Canalize - 3 Actions = 5 D6
Effect: -1 Accuracy for the target

Knockdown
Accuracy: 8 base - 3/4 Actions = 5/4 D6
Damage: Minimum of 1
Effect: Another -1 Accuracy for the target until they spend an action to get back up.

Ember
Same as before.

Heart ransacks the cupboards of the GPC, then goes shopping.

He passes a massive dessert store, with Pokemon themed desserts.

They have a massive (lifesize, 1m) Sandslash dessert in the front window. Its spikes are almond meringue with yellow brulee from a torch. It stands in a plain of orange whipped cream with fresh fruit scattered about. The firm, cakelike body can be pulled apart and eaten as slices or even just as finger food, dipped in the whipped cream.

This draws the customer in, and they can see that many Pokemon are represented. You can buy a Venusaur dessert tray and a spun sugar flower to go atop it. Or a Rapidash sheet cake. Or little breadlike Magikarps. Or Exeggcute containing custard, with a sweet ricepaper shell. Or a make your own 3D Flareon kit, flavored with orange dreamsicle.

They have desserts in imitation of Swirlix and Vanilluxe, of course. The Vanilluxe are crafted out of Casteliacone. They act as a Full Heal, but they can only last a single encounter slot once removed from the freezer. $200 per serving.

Heart's instincts lead him to the pun aisle, where he discovers CaterPIE, Drowneez (Drowzee Brownies), Quilava Cake, and Lemon Metang Pie.

Sheldon Round 5

"I THINK he can take a D.R., T! Get to it!"

Dragon Rush (priority)
4 Dex + 4 Fight +2 Brawl -3 acc -3 actions = 4 dice
(3)(1)(4)(2)
4 Str + 4 power +1 STAB -3 vit = 6d6
(6)(1)(4)(2)(6)(6) Orthros takes 4 dmg. 2/6hp.

"That was a good hit, but if he's not still upright he hasn't been trained very well...Oh, excellent, still up! I won't use that move again, but Nathan, is this battle over? I'm afraid Tracton doesn't know many weak moves. It will be Vice Grip from here out."

Nathan has to blink a couple times.

That was...ridiculously fast.

"Wha...good grief...you seriously trained that thing enough to make that move faster than it should be?!"

...

"...*sigh*...and here I thought I'd have a chance to try something interesting...ah well.  Alright Orthros, come on back.  You did well, so you can rest for now."

Orthros retreats to Nathan's side, a little beat up, but still ready to jump back in if asked.  This human has shown he cares for his pack, so he was happy to be a part of it as well.  Nathan scratches him behind the ears again as thanks for trying his best.

"Alright, Sheldon, here ya go.  $300 as payment for showing me a little of what Tandor's Steel types can do.  First battle I've lost in awhile, and technically the first one I've lost, period.  Of course, I wasn't exactly trying very hard to win.  I would have used my Absol if this was a more serious battle, so...anyways, I believe you probably have some questions?"
