In that case, I'll be using Hel- my Kadabra against the Chansey. Since we are only going for one Round each, I'll abstain from using Toxic... I do have enough medicine with me to cure nasty Poison, but I don't want to inflict poisoning unless it's really necessary..."

"Ehm, before we head to the Play Room, I do have another short question, please... That Tropius of mine I mentioned, yesterday I picked up that he has been looking after the flightless Pokemon on the green roof. Bringing them fresh leaves from a nearby tree that's normally be out of their reach. Would it, well, be okay if I'd leave him up there during the week I'm working up there? I will take care of him concerning food and care, plus harvest the fruit from him for the Shelter. I'd simply appreciate that he won't be given away for adoption by accident, since I'd like to...keep him..."

Indeed, Heart finds a Nidorino roaming the broad plains south of the mountains! You spot it before it spots you, but you're still a quarter mile away. It's eating milkweed flowers right now, just going to town on row upon row of them.

Heart could go there and throw his Pokemon to fight, but Heart thinks a little better and decided to use a different aproach. "Time to use some of Shiva style." Heart then careful go in the direction of the little, taking care to not scare Nidorino, since Nidorino are know to be fierce pokemon and independent, and easily angered. But Heart decided to take chances. "Its kinda beautiful here isn't little one?" Say Heart every time alert to not get poisoned with the toxic spines of Nidorino. "Dont be scare about my presence little one. I didnt come here to hurt you." To show that, Heart put in the ground some peace gifts: One slice of yesternight lasangna, and one Magikarp tayaki. Both of them was in his bag just in case he might get hungry or something. After doing that he sit in a careful distant and sit down, waiting to see the Nidorino reaction.

"Sure. Don't worry, all Pokemon are adopted into a Pokeball, which wouldn't work on a Pokemon owned by a trainer."

"Ventus, I would not release a dangerous Pokemon to anyone who did NOT show evidence of their qualifications. Your skill with the Dragons definitely qualifies you, though of course you must still be careful, please! I was told how you handled your Arbok, and I'd like to see your skill with Noibat before you go. Maybe just a quick one-round battle between Noibat and my Chansey."

"Assuming that goes well, your offer is more than generous! I'd like to counter with this: 6 eight hour days serving at the Shelter. You'd have one day off in that week. Whenever you please. I'd have you doing anything from menial chores like cleaning all the way to counseling attempts with some of our patients. And please do contact Mallorn for us, though I hear he is very self-serving when it comes to Pokemon and business."

Director's North's firm conviction and earnest warning caused the empath's smile to widen just a bit, pleased with the caution and care that laiddened both responses, and he nodded in affirmation to their idea of a mock battle demonstration. "Well said, my friend, well said! As with every Pokémon that I have had the privilege to study and my own, I'll pay the utmost respect and attention to Kingdra, and strive not only to satisfy its needs as a proud Dragon type, but will teach them how to afford the same to others that he might consider lesser than himself! You have my word on this, North. I would also delighted to engage in a quick round of combat with between my Niobat and your Chansey, as he just loves to make new friend of all kind, no matter who or what they are. Well, except wild Pokémon that try to harash or harm us, of course!"

Upon hearing the Shelter head's counter proposal, an even wider grin broke across Ventus' face, and the reached over to extend his hand for a handshake. "Deal. I can begin effective immediantly, or whenever you think would be the ideal time. Will I be introduced to the other volunteers and staff of the shelter and work closely with them, or will I work independent of the others for the most part in my assigned tasks? Dr. Mallorn's....frugalness is well known to me, but I should be able to convince him to give you a fair price with some persuasion and needling on my part. If I was able to have him obtain several research visas for me, clear me past Cheshire's stringent immigration/travel laws and cover the cost of my flight here, I should be able to arrange a good deal on the Shelter's behalf, especially for such a oddity!"

Order: Agree to North's deal, and ready to begin my Round of Combat against Chansey with Lucifer! He'll be using Screech as his first action, and then two Gusts no matter if he goes first or second, with a conditional evade if Chansey tries to land Status attacks on them! Let's prove that Ven really 'treasures' his Dragons!

Oh, there they are!  What good fortune that they seem to be wandering around the building now!  They were going into the...play room?  Why are they headed in there?

Nathan ends up following (Kirlia close behind, as usual, and Porygon-Z and Solomon recalled for the time being), since he wants to discuss what they're all doing next...and finds them prepping for battle?  That man over there...he must be the Director, right?

"Oh, uh, sorry.  I'm not interrupting something, am I?  If I may ask, though, what's going on?"

"So its is how it will be. *Sigh*, give no choice." Heart expect this type of situation. Nidorino is very fierce like Poison-type pokemon, like Ventus say. He may need to prove he dont want to fight it. "Okay Nidorino, I have promised I will not hurt you, and thats what I going to do." Then Heart is prepared to avoid Nidorino attacks with no pokemon.

Action: Avoid Nidorino attacks and try to calm him. Perhaps a test of evation and knowledge about that since he is a Pokemon rare collector. Perhaps a test of Dexterity + Evasion + Alert + Insight + Survival?

Shiva was just about to draw the Pokeball Helios is contained in, as she stopped mid-movement when hearing Nathan ask what was going on. She gave him a short look, before minding her own business again.

"Hmm? Oh, hey there Nathan... We're just asked to prove ourselves in a short battle against Director North's Chansey."

(Ehm, regardless of whether these wuick Rounds of battle for Ventus and Shiva are held consecutively or simultaneously, I'll give the battle orders now since I'll be going offline now. The orders don't change once the Init Order has been revealed.)


In a probably way too meaningful and promising movement, Helios has been called out of his Pokeball right to the side of his Master. Of course he picked up that somewhat...different atmosphere around thanks to his psychic traits, plus this same sense also hinted to him that Master seems to rely on him. It's been a little since his last battle - the last one was against these Tangrowth outside of city, and he's been resting since Master asked him to teleport that young Trainer to a distant town. Since he's been a Kadabra, Helios wasn't in need for these 18 hours of sleep anymore; some good rest was nevertheless apreciated to hone one's psychic skills a little. Right now though, he seemed eager to show what he's capable of since evolution.

That, in return, was something Shiva certainly noticed. The fact that this Psychic evolved thanks to the care she brought up to him will be treasured in her mind and memory. He received a few strokes over the ears, displaying exactly that appreciation. "Well there, Helios, I see that I don't need many words to explain the situation here to you. Our 'opponent' desires to see how much control I have over you in battle to get an inkling of how I generally handle you... Please show that the care I brought to you so far hasn't been wasted on you."

"This Chansey over there is your foe... Yes, it looks very sweet, but don't be fooled by that. First up, show us the move I've tutored you, followed by a display of your psychic powers in a non-damaging way first, then with the potential to deal damage. Take care if the Chansey comes charging at you - in that case, evade that. However, DO NOT let your foe crash into a wall, please! Use your psychic powers to prevent that from happening if it's necessary. Our main goal is not winning a battle here, but rather display how we work together."

Effect: Raises Evasion by 2.
Secondary Effect: Creates neat copies of Helios probably filling half the room!

Accuracy Roll Kinesis: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Channel - 4 Actions = 4 d6
Effect: Lowers Chansey's Accuracy by 1.
Secondary Effect: Let's see how empathic Chansey enjoys psychic power...

Accuracy Roll Confusion: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Channel - 5 Actions = 3 d6
Damage Roll: 2 Strength + 2 Power of the move + 1 STAB = 5 d6
Additional notes: 1 CD to confuse the foe.

Use an action to evade if Chansey uses Double-Edge on Helios. If the evasion is successful, use some of Helios' psychic powers to prevent Chansey from crashing into wall of the Play Room by accident!

With everything agreed upon to the sastifaction of both himself and Shiva (Though he would offer his own advice on how to handle Gothitelle's controlling nature to her later), he left the Director's office with a smile upon his face and made his way with them + his dear friend to the Play Room, a please, glowing smile on his face and some pep in his step the whole way. Upon arrival they flicked thier wrist to thier side, sending out Lucifer Pokeball and summoning him in a flash, where he instantly let out a delight screech and glided over to perch on Ventus' shoulder, recieving a smile from their master and an affectionate scratch behind the eyes. The devil bat briefly closed their eyes and let out a croon of pleasure from his master's handy minstrations, before they re-opened them and noticed Director North squaring off against them, causing them to tilt their head at them in naked curiosity and letting out a questioning warble. Is he a new friend, someone important to his master, or just another Trainer to fight against? He looked laid back and easy going , but he had long since learned that looks can be decieving from his encounters with the scary fairy lady! 

Thinking of her, the tiny drake just now noticed them by their master's side, and almost bolted to the safe confines of his master's soft, snugly Tweed sweater before they put a stop to that by clicking their tongue to get their attention. "Lucifer, not now. I want to introduce you to Director North and have a mock fight with his Chancey to prove the strength of our bond and care for one another, and we can't do that if you are hiding in my sweater, now can we? This isn't too serious of a battle, so you don't have to stress yourself too much with it, but at the same time I want you to be on your best behavior during it. Understand, my brother?" Ventus said to them, causing his Niobat to briefly ponder their message before giving them a small screech of approval, earning them yet another smile and ear scratch, much to their delight. Hanging around fairy lady might be a bit scary, but he'll do anything for his master as long as its within his powers, and an easy going fight with Chancey is more than within his abilities, *Screech!*

When Nathan walked into the room, both Ventus and Lucifer the boy a small wave, before refocusing their attention of the Director and let Shiva explain their purpose in the Play Room. From what he could tell, the boy as a bit more cheerful than he initially was in the morning, so apparently whatever business he had in the Shelter must have been conducive to his goals! That's a relief, as a grumpy Nathan was not a person anyone wanted to deal with, let alone a researcher that suffered the brunt of such negativity far too many times to count!

Order: Lucifer is now out, about, and ready to battle! Same battle orders as before, with Screech having 5D6 Accuracy Dice to land, and 4/3D6 Accuracy dice for the two Gust attacks. He'll dodge any status moves that Chansey might have for him, and hold back on his attacks to prevent him from knocking them out with them! Tank vs  Tank combat, begin!
