[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
(11-03-2017, 12:47 AM)Dragonstrike Wrote: - Why?  We've only encountered the one Pinsir so far.  I don't see any reasonable justification for that.

- Nathan will never ask Ventus to change his opinion on Skuntank.  I don't expect the species to ever come up IC in these discussions unless Ventus brings it up.

- Don't expect Orthros to ever like Ventus in return while he believes that, then.

- If Nathan could avoid revealing Orthros to them, he would.  But with how much the species stands out, a reveal would be inevitable. He has no choice in the matter as long as he wants to use Orthros.  Though I do wonder how Ventus would react to what Nathan's planning to do later on with Orthros (assuming it works)...

- Considering Ventus already knows about Orthros and has quite clearly expressed his distaste a few times without even meeting the dog first (close-minded thinking at its finest...), I don't even know if Nathan will want Ventus present for the reveal to Shiva.

-Ventus holds grudges better than almost anyone else in the world, and he's ecountered a couple during the Runnings in Ginger Town and the Mountains.

-Alrighty then! Its not like Ven cares about what a demon dog thinks of him, beyond whether or not its sizing him up for an ambush, anyway!

-There is always the option of not using Orthros, but I imagine you consider that not a choice with all the hard work Nathan has put in with them and their personality in general. Also, what is it that Nathan plans to do with Orthros again?

-If you don't allow Ventus to be present by Shiva's side during the Reveal, or at the very, VERY least inform him about it, expect relations between our two character to plumment even lower than their latest moral conflict. Which, considering the fallout of that series of events, is impressive in of itself! It might be so bad that Nathan would no longer be a friend to my chara, and would never have the chance to regain that friendship ever again! After all, intentionally leaving him out of a Reveal that will most likely severely unbalance or traumatize his best friend/crush....that's not exactly polite, now is it?

- No, it's not an option.  Plus, I, as a player, want to use the dang dog that is one of my favorite species, favorite type, and that Iron put extra effort into creating specifically for this campaign.

- That plan's still a secret.

- I've not made any decisions on that yet.  I'm discussing it with Phantom via PM.  If Ventus ends up not being included, then maybe we can work something out to inform him.  Would have done so already, but I didn't want to spoil Ventus's mood right before that video call.  If Ventus is included, expect him to be asked to leave the room very, very quickly after Orthros comes out, as his presence does nothing good for the doggie, guaranteed.

Hmm, @Lord Windos... First of all, I hope you're feeling a little better today! It seems like it'll be better for both Shiva and Nathan, as well as the Deltadog itself that the revealation occurs WITHOUT Ven present. Sorry...But please do me this favour. I can explain to you in PM if you like. If the prize is the friendship - which friendship to begin with at all? - between Nathan and Ventus, then I am willing to pay this prize. Just leave it that way that those two can still work together during the further campaign, just not as friends. Saves us struggle and unnecessary effort.

Whoops, @Dragonstrike... I didn't expect Nathan to leave the Shelter when he said he'll wait outside. I thought he meant 'outside the Play Room'. I hope he'll get the message onto phone/Dex Shiva will write him now, as she cannot say the words to into his face anymore now~

Again, this is a Pokemon game and you have the right to use whatever team you want if you put in the work to counter Disobedience and Unhappiness. This rule cannot be counteracted with things like "It hurts my character's feelings." <- That is YOUR decision, not a rule. You are required to tolerate others' Pokemon choices if they are not a MECHANICAL threat to you.

Orthros IS obedient now and needs to be given equal tolerance to Apsis.

It's fine to disagree but it's NOT FINE to bully. So this Orthros stuff needs to be resolved soon after Nathan makes a reasonable attempt to do so.

Sounds like Phantom is ready to work it out, so I'm quite hopeful this won't become a problem. Ventus needs to follow suit.

I wonder what a 'mechanical threat' would be for example, Iron? Just curious...

At its most fundamental, a mechanical threat would be a Pokemon whose Disobedience is higher than Loyalty, and is aggressive toward humans and/or their Pokemon.

Basically, the rules themselves say such a Pokemon would be a threat, so it'd be justified for other party members to ask for concessions in that situation. Like back when Larry and Ventus were training disobedient Ekans.

I'm just saying that Gen will never be friendly to orOrthtros , not that he Going to outright attack them on sight or similarly bad stuff . I already aware of you ruling on the matter , it's one of the main reasons ctolerance is on the table , besides wanting the group to stay together . We all have to work together , even if we have strong  reservations on the desicions of others . That is all I have to say on the matter . r

Thanks... Hmm, that mechanicaly means that Gothitelle could be considered 'a threat'? However, I don't feel like she's outright agressive towards humans and Pokemon - unless they overstep her boundaries. Shiva already is a respectful person and highly values her personal space, so she does understand her Pokemon in this case and will take care to not distress this Pokemon.
