[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
(11-02-2017, 05:24 PM)PhantomUnderYourDesk Wrote: If such a suprise attack-hug for Ventus - which he certainly deserved, Reshiram damnit, as he lured the Director into agreeing to working off the adoption fine plus impressed him with his good care towards Apsis! - already distressed Nathan, it was probably a good call that Shiva didn't suprisingly added kissing the researcher on cheek in that hug.

After a while, this hug became embarrasing though plus Ven might desire to catch up on breath, so she rather soon distangled her arms from his neck. That delighted smile remained though. "Hehe... I'm sorry? I'm just happy that we made it... Now, uhm, I'll be visiting that Gothitelle again now, then pick up that pink Mystery Egg (that one oozing those cute pink threads!) I reserved for myself. I need to go to the Extension of Telperion University later, as well as desire to pay the Department Store a visit before we start working tomorrow... I feel like Nathan might need a little support from my side as well. So, Ven, if we won't happen to see each other for a few hours, you know where I possibly am!~ See you then..." Off she was with a wave, outside the Play Room in direction Inamate Room she goes.

Ventus and Lucifer were so shocked with Shiva's frostly furious reaction over Rotom that they were frozen stiff, with the devil bat quickly thawing and taking refuge in the researcher tweed sweater in fear! Nope, he wasn't going to be around fairy lady when she THAT angry, particularly if he's at risk of being a target of the icy temper, so time to huddle in tweed until the danger passes! Fortunately, things don't escalate from there and tension rapidly simmer down once its apparent that neither side of the conflict wanted to quarrel about this in the first place, though the empath was keen to notice that the boy left feeling rather burnt out/depressed from the argument. Between the battle and Shiva subsequently glopping him, however, he ended up being FAR too distracted to make any comment on it/notice he ended up leaving the premise, and simply decided to silently just ride out his dear friend's cuddles with as much restraint on his part as possible. When the mystical lass reluctantly ended the hug and told him her plans for the day, he just gave her another one of his trademark radiant smile and rubbed her hair, before wishing her well for the day.

Once departed, the sociologist let out a sigh he didn't that he was holding and shook his head, ruefully thinking to himself 'Never a dull moment to be had between either of my companions various reactions. I pray that nothing further amiss will comes from all this...' , before heading over to Director North and receiving his assignment for the day! Time to get to the grindstone and while away that debt!

(11-03-2017, 08:06 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: Nathan needs to let out a little stress now.  But first...he sends a text (or maybe several texts?) to Ventus once he's composed himself a little better.  He needed to say it now, before he forgets all about it and it's to late...

Text sent (he really hoped Ventus didn't take out his frustration with Nathan on the poor dog...), it was time to move on to something else and vent some of his frustrations.

After dislodging a Forrestress from their hole for what seemed to be the 7th time in the row that afternoon, it was finally time for Ventus' half an hour lunch break for the day, something which he took with great euthusiasm given how back breaking his labor was! He choose a spot overlooking the armor clad bugs for to eat his meal (In case he spotted one getting stuck in their own burrows AGAIN, oh dear...), unpacked his meal (Sandwich, chips, and a bottle of Irish Breakfast tea), and just as he was about to dig in his phone began to buzz, signaling that someone was trying to call/message him! The researcher immediantly whipped it out and flipped it open to see what was going on, as the only people in the region that could get in touch with him were Shiva and Nathan, and they wouldn't do so unless it was urgent business or they needed to inform him of something important.

Well, he was absolutely right on both accounts, as it was a text from Nathan, and the contents of it.....well. "........What in Kyurem's frigid domain is that stubborn, reckless boy thinking?! Does he still not realize the myriad problems in doing such a awful, selfish thing as forcing that monsterous mutt on Shiva, the least of all is severely damaging his already monomolecular edge thin relationships with her and myself? No, Nathan is many uncharible things, but he isn't an ignorant or idiotic, so he absolutely know beyond a reasonable doubt the fallout he'll cause by doing this. Yet he would still go through for the sake of abomination that shouldn't exist in our world, much less be show compassion and mercy to the species  horrid nature and past transgressions?! And he has the sheer gall to forbid my involvement in this mater on top of everything else?! RRrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggh!!!"  Ventus all but growled out under his breath, with an a fury that bordered on blinding hot RAGE that he had to stamp out quickly, least he cause a scene on the job and be called in to see what the heck is the matter with him to cause such a fuss.

His iron hard grip on his emotions easily allow him to do so, but it by no means completely dispel his anger about the future crisis, only tempering it to the point that he wasn't about to cause a scene or go hunting down Nathan and string him up by the shoelaces for being so....himself about this. Still, it was enough for the irate sociologist to give the message one more read through with a more discreening eyes, trying to find any weak point in the young trainers argument or think of anything that he could level against them to prevent them from doing their foolish things...and more or less came up short. Well, not quite: their were many, many arguments  that he could come up with that would dissuade the average person from doing something as foolish as accepting a demon as an ally and forcing their friends to accept it too, but Nathan has proven time and again he's anything but average. 'Once the boy has his mind set on something, no matter how naïve or narrow sighted it would be, he won't be dissuaded in his judgement bar considerable amount of effort and evidence. If they have considered all the massive harm their decision to keep and force the vile vermin on us, and would still go throught with it, then nothing I say or can present will change his mind at this juncture,' the researcher thought to himself, giving the boy's text message another seething glare for another minute before letting out a pained, deeply displeased and miserable resigned sigh and casting his sight skyward, watching the clouds dance across the sky in the perfect harmony of nature. By the Tao Trio, why must this boy endevour to make himself a figure of adversity in this group by doing such foolish things?!

There were other niggling feelings and grievances that also contributed to the sociologist's thorough contempt for the matter: namely, the matter of his earlier promises with they young trainer, and the fact the he saw fit to warn him about this in the first place rather than brazenly (Well, more brazenly) going ahead without his input/knowledge. His first instinct was to completely discard the promises he made in the past with the irksome young trainer, as they had recently lost a lot of faith within them due to them being abrasive/anti social one to many times, but with another heavy sigh and shake of his head he rejected such an idea. 'No. I am and was a man of many disciplines, but being an oathbreaker is and will never be one of them. *Sigh* What more, the foolish, reckless boy has a point, even if its only valid because he ardently refuses to rid himself of that infernal, vile abomination or give it to researchers better equipped to restrain and gather information about it. Shiva, despite my best efforts on my part to prevent such an outcome, will eventually learn of the dream fiend, and it would be preferable, if only barely so, to introduce her to it in an controled environment with all safety precaution enabled. Which, frustratingly, I why I can see why he dictated to me not to be a part of her reveal, for their is no way of knowing how that demon dog will react to my presence. Grrrrrraggggh.....' Ventus though, staring numbly at the sky and radiating frustration at the situation that Nathan was forcing him and his dearest friend in due to his misguided and selfish desire to keep that beast, before he averted his gaze with yet another sigh and opened his bottle of tea and took a long draught of it. Just thinking of the issue + the boy was exaushting both his patience and Vitality, arggh...

Still, despite his HIGHLY grudging aquisal to Nathan's chosen plan of action, the empath didn't for a second believe in the dubious claim that they had gotten that infernal beast under his absolute control and subjecation, which in turn meant that he was under no obligation to treat the vile thing with anything but contempt and thin, THIN tolerance. He was also displeased that he couldn't attend the Reveal himself, regardless if he understood the reasons why. With those two thoughts in minds, Ven bit back yet ANOTHER sigh and began to record a voice message for Nathan, his voice carrying a slight growl and plain dissastification in it that perfectly conveyed what he thought of their message: "You know my reservations on the matter, Nathan. You know the consequences of what will happen due to reveal Orthors. You know what damage you could possibly inflict on Shiva, and how it will adversely affect your friendship with her (And myself, though that was only implied). Yet, you will persist in this goal of your, despite all the ill it will do to the group as a whole. You still have a chance to reconsider. To release that dog into the care of Mallorn or another researcher. Gggrrrr...what is the Reshirim damn point of trying to dissuade you at this point. You already made up your mind on this, haven't you. Nothing I say will matters, beyond re-affirming my promise to you concerning that beast, and agreeing to your request for me not to be in attendance with Shiva for what will be most definitely a unpleasant reveal. Fine. Fine. You have my permission, however forced it is. On one condition. Introduce Orthros to me, Raphael, and Apsis first, before you do so with Shiva. I frankly don't trust that creature, as you are well aware, so if its well under control as you say it is, then it shouldn't lash out at the ones who slayed its kin in that nightmarish plane of existence. If that dog does attack me, well it only prove my point, doesn't it? I expect an answer soon, Nathan."

*Click*

Recording the message and sending off to the boy, Ventus let loose an impressive growl that he had be holding back throughout the recording, before sighing and began to quickly dig into his lunch. That message and his own cost him most of his lunch time, so he better dine fast or be forced to dig out Forrestress will only smoldering anger to sustain him!

Too much expensive to Heart taste. He was thinking to buy that Hard Stone to Aron, but perhaps It would a better Idea to buy in other opportunity. Heart decides to the evolution aids floor. He was hoping to find a moon Stone when he decides evolve Caesar in Nidoking. And take a look in the others floors: Pokémon Toys, Training Aids, eletronics, crafting items and Almanac items (he is curious to see what they have).

Almanac has their electronic Almanac and Poketch-style upgrades, they have lab-developed herbs like Almanac Aniseseed, they have an item like the Itemfinder, they have a helmet that functions like an Experience Share.

No Moon Stones available for sale. They have Leaf Stone, Fire Stone, Water Stone, Thunder Stone, and shards of the same.

Pokemon Toys bleeds right into the Training Aids section. They are adjacent floors connected by many stairs and escalators. Training Aids sells items such as the Macho Brace, which reduces the amount of XP needed for a +Strength/-Speed surprise. They have items for Training Sessions: For example, if you wanted a training session improvement for Nidoking, they have a Training Horn for $600 that can be used on any Pokemon with a horn. Other Pokemon can buy Training Fins, Training Claws, and even Training Tracks for Tracton or Porygon.

Electronics is like an appliance store: TVs, microwaves, etc. But they also have a small Mallorn's Canteen selling Pokedexes at $1300. The other awesome thing they have is a TM rack! TMs start at $3000, so come back when you have more money!

The crafting supplies room is big big big! And it includes tables and tools you can use in-store, sort of like a mini Scrapyard. They have some Pokemon sheds (antlers, feathers, wings) and plants imported from the Safari Zone, like Safari Mahogany, one of the prettiest woods in Creshire. They have bitter herbs available that a clever person can mix into Potions for 75% the cost (requires Craft 2).

'Well, he's certainly a busy bee.  Didn't even give me a chance to say anything in response...'

And a moment later, that same cartoon theme starts playing again...

'Huh?'

Upon checking his pokedex to see what's going on, he finds it's an incoming call that he just missed...seems Porygon-Z accidentally changed the ringtone on Nathan's pokedex...

Well, he'd deal with that in a moment.  Who's it...from...

Oh.

Yup, Ventus was less than pleased...

A quick text back is all Nathan sends in response.

Fine.  Meet me at the Center's back room ASAP, then.  Same one as before.

Nathan heads to the Center's back room immediately, grabbing Calam and Starmie in place of Swiftfire and Yule while they're healed.

Nathan summons Calam and Starmie, and instructs them to be wary.  If either Orthros, Shiva, Ventus, or one of their pokemon start acting aggressive, they might have to get involved.  Nathan also has Calam, Starmie, and Kirlia buff themselves with Swords Dance, Harden, and Calm Mind respectively, just in case.

Orthros is sitting there quietly.  Nathan's trying to explain to him what's going on to try and ease things a little.

He really hoped this was going to go okay.

When Ventus gets there, he's going to find Nathan caring for Orthros (feeding, playing, petting, etc.)...who'll likely promptly yelp and hide behind Nathan when Ventus enters the room...

(Okay, I'll just post now how things go on for Shiva, if that's okay.)

Now, that small trip went rather favourably, so Shiva left the floor with a coy smile on her face. Which, due to the big hood of the Ranger Cloak, had something creepy or mischievous on it.

Back to the same fitting or lady's room she went then, to change her apperance back to her old self by putting off the Ranger's Cloak she wore over her normal clothes (that cloak's so comfy to wear, though!) and packing it away after folding it together, opening her hair again, as well as removing all black meake-up and reapplying glasses and scarf. Nice to a have a clear vision again (Shiva is shortsighted, so she had no issues reading nearby things).

Now the path was clear for a looong shopping trip through the Department Store!~ She's been looking forward to this since knowing of this Store. Once she brought Nightshade back into her party (that is, IF there is a PC to do so nearby at all, since you haven't come back to me on this yet, Iron), Braixen has been called out in a familiar flash of white light! After yawning and blinking at the artificial light of the store, he picked up that Master was in somewhat good mood and eyed her curiously. Some young man with green sweater wasn't nearby at the moment, even better for the fox. Shiva in return, by now capable of understanding what's going on inside her Pokemon/their moods, was slightly amused by her magical fox's reaction, earning him strokes over the cheek. The fur was still warm and soft to touch. "Now, it's nice to see you again... We can find you a battle later maybe if you like, as for now we'll explore this Department Store together! It's more fun together with a dear Pokemon."

As already hinted, Shiva will visit almost every floor of the Department Store, starting with the one on top for easier tracking. I'll just post what she'll look out for/do on the floors she visits in one post all together, any possible buyings will be determined later.

Unless 'Non-Pokemon-related items' contains something that may catch her interest or something she must see, there is no real point to visit that floor. Same with the Almanac's sales floor.

Breeding Items
Naturally, must-see! C: Any special offers, services or such for people owning a Breeder's lisence?

Held Items
Heart already visited this floor; unless the offered good changed meanwhile, nothing of her interest here.

Crafting Ingredients
Neeeeeat! Shiva loves this floor and spends quite a while here, looking through the goods. She'll end up buying everything needed to create plushies out of Cottonee Fluff as well as 'ingredients' a new dream catcher requires (feathers preferably from a Noctowl). Good chances she'll come back here, once she researched the crafting of Cleanse Tags in the local Extension of Telperion University's library.

Pokemon farmer's market
Curiosity and a faible for nature draggs Shiva to this floor. Do they sell Gourmet Food here?

Same with Electronics (for humans), as she also enjoys useful technology due to her origin from Unova.
EDIT: Already settled, nothing of her interest here.

Vitamins and medicine
Maybe the offer something to increase the wellbeing of her Pokemon, otherwise she's wondering if Vitamins for Pokemon work on humans too.

Evolution aids
No real point to see this floor, as the only Pokemon that evolves via an item is Cottonee.  It's too early yet to think about a Dusk Stone for Litwick.

Pokemon and human costumes
That awakes dormant Coordinator-Feels in Shiva! She'll end up trying on a few things as well examinate a few costumes for her own Pokemon, but will only buy a new Tshirt and a hair clip featuring an artificial Ranc Berry flower as well as a collar with a crescent charm for Braixen (looking like this, only in pitchblack). "That's for you... Looks fairly good!"

Pokemon toys/Training aids
On either of these two floors, she's looking out for some sort of chewing toy for Yena, something that he won't be able to tear that easily - in order for him to train his biting a little. Or some ropelike toy for dogs where the dog pulls and bites on one end and the owner keeps hold of the other.

Is there also a floor that sells books? Can be second-hand books as well.

Yes, they have a PC on every floor.

The Breeding Items floor has study guides for the Breeder's License, as well as an official booth to take it in. There's a small discount on some braggadocio items for breeders: They're pushing a large frame backpack that has room to display six Incubators, only $300 for Breeders. Also a badge that Breeders can have for free, basically showing off that they have a breeder's license; you can even slip your license inside and then pin it safely to your clothing. It has baby Pokemon dancing around its borders. Baby Pokedolls are available here for $900, which is 10% off to those who have a License.

They have three kinds of Destiny Knots right now: the red Monkey's Fist you already have, and a green variety of Celtic Knot designed to pass down luck-based traits at an increased rate (mostly used for Shiny breeding), and the gray Oval Knot which makes Eggs appear faster in the Daycare.

They have Everstones, Incenses, and various forms of improved Incubators.

The Farmer's Market sells Baashaun wool, lots of good snacks and special Gourmet Food, and handcrafted items like soaps. Also Petilil leaves are on sale.

Vitamins designed for Pokemon don't work on humans, but for wayyy more money you can buy some that do.

Braixen enjoys his new jewelry. It reminds him of his den.

They sell a Training Kong for $600, which is guaranteed Feraligatr resistant and adds +1 to Training Rolls. Or you can get a less effective version for $0. Either version you can put UltraSnax inside and it will stack.

A second-hand bookstore is a great idea. It's called "Slaking's Bargain Books," and it smells like old pages in there!

The bitter herbs, based on the prices in the book and my changes to healing item rules:
-Heal Powder $500
-Enough Energy Powder for one potion: $125
-Enough Energy Root for a super potion: $500
Then you need one unit of sweetener for $25 and 2 points in Craft to convert it into Potion or Super Potion.
They have different varieties of these herbs too, different colors and shapes and things.

He really hoped this was going to go okay.

When Ventus gets there, he's going to find Nathan caring for Orthros (feeding, playing, petting, etc.)...who'll likely promptly yelp and hide behind Nathan when Ventus enters the room...

The moment his phone buzzed what seemed hours latter, Ventus instantly snatched it from his pocket and read the text Nathan sent him, frustrated yet oddly calm at having to be held in suspense for that long while they were out and about doing whatever. It took the researcher only a few seconds to read it, causing his face to become that much more serious as they let off a scoff at the brievity/tone of the message itself. 'They're confidant that all will go according to design, and that their faith in that unnatural monster will prove true. I'll hold my breath until I see so myself,' he thought darkly to himself, before snapping his phone shut, putting it away, and finishing up whatever work he had for the rest of the day. He still had some time before his shift was over, and that gave him the opportunity to get himself mentally prepared and a string of contingency plans in mind for his meeting with Orthros....

*Time Skip to the Pokémon Center, in the hallway that leads to the Private Room!*

As soon as his shift at the Shelter was finished, Ventus practically sprinted towards the subway towards the Center, and ended up making record time as he passed through the front doors and marched unerringly towards the now familiar Private Room. Just before he approached the door, however, the scientist flicked both wrists out to his side, sending forth two Pokeballs to the grounds and summoning Raphael and Apsis! Between the three of them, the hallway was definitely crowded as his two family member instantly noticed how severe and grave their father/master looked as he evenly regarded the two, before closing his eyes and letting out a small sigh as he converyed his orders for....this.

"Raphael, Apsis, I feel the need to warn and forarm you with knownledge, for we are all about to encounter one of those abominable fiend we fought and killed in the nightmare realm, only this time its under the command of Nathan, our mutual.......ally. Yes, I know that is skin crawling thought, and your guess is good as mine as to what possessed him to capture and try to tame one of those fiends, but the fact stands he own one as his Pokémon. Its been weeks since then, and today he has texted me and said that he had finally managed to make it completely Loyal to him and plans to reveal it to Shiva today. I hold heavy doubts this is the case, however, which is why I requested we meet with the vile hound first to gauge how true the boy's claims are. Now, I need both of you to act on your best behavior and not attack the beast, as I do not doubt that Nathan nor his Pokémon would appreciate that, unfortunately. However, I am not a fool as to trust him to react swiftly enough to restrain his dog if need be, so Raphael use Nasty Plot, and if and ONLY if that beast tries to attack us, use Extreme Speed on it to quickly pacify it. Apsis, your job is to shield me from its attacks, should it become aggressive towards us. I am clear on this?"

When the sociologist received a vigerous nod from both his beloved Pokémon (and an irritated *Hiss* from Apsis, who was equally displeased at Nathan's choose in Pokémon) and his archangel has buffed themselves,. He gave them a firm nod of his own, and then motioned for the both of them to follow his lead as he walked over to the door, knock on it twice, before abruptly opening it and marching in the room with his family members in toe! The researcher's eyes were on that horrible monster the moment he recognized it from his memories/dreams, and his face went neutral as he cooly regarded both it, and waited. Nathan was ignored for the time being, as was his guards, but Ven was ready to react if they too tried anything funny with him/his family....

Order: Well, Ventus is here and gets to meet Orthros. Let's hope it does not end in tears...

Yep, Orthros fears Ventus. His first instinct is to leap behind Nathan. He doesn't even make aggressive motions such as snarling or growling or snapping. Tail between legs, brain throbbing in fear. All the Pokemon here have been well briefed on their role, and none of them move to attack.
