[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
(11-06-2017, 10:40 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: Nathan does catch the pokeball.  With surprising speed.  And when Ventus leaves, he looks at Raphael, a sad expression on his face.

"Well?  Are you going to try and get along with Orthros, actually give him a chance?  I assure you that he won't be trying anything, that he's different from the ones we encountered a couple weeks ago, however slight that difference is.  And quite frankly, I trust you to believe me more than Ventus right now.  Just between you and me, I didn't tell Orthros to do anything in particular.  I trust he's not going to intentionally get into any trouble.  If he does, that's what Calam and Starmie are for.  Well, part of what they're here for.  I think you can guess what the other reason they're here for is."

Orthros is still behind Nathan, still very much scared.

What does Raphael really think of this, I wonder...

Delta Houndour doesn't have the Dark typing, so Raphael doesn't have an innate problem with the species. The pack did bring down a lot of misery on Corsage Port, which affected Raphael strongly, so he has reason to agree with his master.
He'll be following orders on this one, but that doesn't preclude giving Houndour a chance. Raphael can indeed hope that Orthros  turns out like Apsis: an unexpected brother/sister.

Heart, this challenger may ask to split the battle across two game days, just for the timeline's sake. But $300 across six Pokemon, maybe he won't be so hard as all that.

Smokestack sends out Smoochum and Mudkip. He makes a funny image as he chews on a big cigar and orders his tiny Pokemon around.

Caesar: (6) + 4 = 10 Withdrawn
Gastly: (6) + 3 = 9
Aron: (4) +4 = 8
Gustav: (4) +4 = 8 Withdrawn
Viktor: (4) + 4 = 8 Withdrawn
Smoochum: (5) + 2 Dex + 1 survival = 8
Koa: (3)
Numel: (3) Withdrawn
Monferno: (1) +4 = 5
Luxio: (2) +3 = 5
Mareep: (1) +4 = 5
Mudkip: (2) + 3 = 5

Shiva meets an old student named Torch, who heads with her up to one of the outdoor classrooms for a battle. Is this a double battle or single? 2v2, what's the bet? Presumably no fainting?

Nathan continues to give Raphael a sad stare for a moment longer...sighs...

"Fine.  I don't expect there will be any problems, but for what it's worth, Raphael, if Orthros does step out of line, you have my permission to KO him with Extreme Speed.  Calam and Starmie will even help you with that.  But if you step out of line, they're going to be KOing you.  Understood?"

...

And then Nathan sits in front of Orthros and lets the scared dog sit in his lap, trying to offer the best comfort he can.

"There, there, it's gonna be okay, buddy.  It's gonna be fine.  We'll show them there's no reason to be afraid of you.  That you're not exactly like the others."

Nathan reaches into his bag and pulls out that Ranc berry that Swiftfire got from somewhere, as well as a jar of honey, and lets Orthros nom on them.  "Here, a little something to calm the nerves.  I know this is hard to go through...we'll get through it, though.  Together.  Okay?  I'm here for you."

"Good work Gustav! Time to return a bit now." Then Heart bring back his Clauncher back to the pokeball. With less accuracy it's dangerous to let him in the field. "Come out and show your Clawns! Koa!" Koa came from the Pokeball and let out a little roar, showing the sheer strength of the little green dragon. "Bring your next Pokemon smoke guy and let us continue the battle!"

(Another quick question concerning the Spell Tags, Iron... That research the true name of a Pokemon spirit as well of the name of a shrine, can it be done in a normal library or does it require specific tasks/actions/similar that I should be aware of?)

Ah... It seems like there were indeed way less 'real' Psychics, Mediums etc. than Shiva may have expected there to be. On this first glance that is, on the shecond one she could have known that a Pokemon will likely always better in this than a human. This was only dishearting for a very short moment though, as dealing with the Type was inspirering enough (or will be), and there was nothing bad about making helpful or even enjoyable use of a close Pokemon's psychic abilities. Like Teleport for a example... Shiva was still amused and curious about teleporting to work/college in cases she's late with the help of Helios once he's an Alakazam with full grown powers.

That primal-forces-thing only confused her, to be honest. Was it something like similar like Groudon and Kyogre turning to their primal forms? ...Nope, that sounds weird... Whatever it may mean though, she kept it in mind and pondered about it a little more while packing away her belongings and bringing back the books she looked through to the shelves they belonged to.

While doing so, she almost rain into that person named Torch by accident... Turned out he seemed like a nice person and even an old student (of course Shiva will eventually ask what course he visited) according to the introduction. They ended up heading upstairs to one of the classroom - turned out it was an outdoor classroom! If every classroom is like this, Shiva would indeed feel well here during classes. Along the way she collected Braixen again, who showed her that he devoured his meal with gusto.

It's a Double Battle with Braixen and Nighshade on my side. Originally wanted 4vs4, but for the sake of pace we'll shorten this this one time. No fainting and again no poisoning nor healing items as I'd rather save them for wild battles on Routes, 350$.
