Evolving a Scyther is interesting. He actually loses a point in disobedience. But to evolve him, you have to trade him, which often costs a Loyalty/Happiness point (I allow an Insight roll to avoid this on a Pokemon you've been working with for a while).

So it may be best to evolve him while his loyalty and happiness are still 0?

Also, remember that Dpt. Store sells Metal Coats for $3000 Poke, so you better start saving up to get it now, and get in a whole lot of battles in the future that you can afford to bet on!!!
