"How neat to hear... ... ... wait, what ?" Either the swamp environment was bad for her by giving her audial halluzinations, the still shortly recovered pain and nausea from his cooking has derailed her senses, or he really named something after her. Why... Lol... After a few moments of her just staring at Heart in a confused smile and tilted head, Azurill brought her back down to Earth by nudging her with her big tail.

"Eh... Befriended him... No need for battle... Hehe... Sorry, then it's Netune! Welcome, lil' one... You won't bite me, will you? Well, cooking... Oh! I found some arrowroot just shortly!!! It can be used to make food! But I'd rather keep it for something else..." (for possible magic?)

"Fair enough.  Traveling definitely isn't for everyone.  Stay safe, alright?"

And now it's time to find everyone else...

Kirlia's still rather grumpy about earlier, but some stern looks from Nathan keep him quiet for the time being.  The meditation did at least help a little, though.

After talk with Shiva and everything, Heart decides to take a look in a different part of the swamp. Mudkip was with him looking to his surrounds and ready to anything. Heart still feel a uneasy feeling like he was observe. When Heart was close to the camp, he was attack by a giant Muk! Since it is a second evolution Pokemon, heart decides to not take chances and brings along with Mudkip another Pokemon. His always disobedient Pokemon, Aron. "Okay, since its Steel against Poison, we might able to defeat that thing. Lets do this together guys! Aron! Iron head three times against Muk! Mudkip Mudslap two times against Muk then use Water Gun!"

On the way back to the meeting spot, Nathan sends the Combee out to look for everyone and gather some more honey.  He and Kirlia are both mounted on Swiftfire, and Masq has been recalled for the time being.

And that's when trouble strikes.

The bees come back from their honey gathering in a hurry once again.  This time, they look worried.  Nathan follows as quickly as he can...

...and encounters Heart facing a Muk.

Kirlia's glaring at it.  It's not the same Muk, but Kirlia's had a rough past 2 days.

And this Muk is very obviously being aggressive.

"Alright then.  So that's how it is, eh?"  Nathan dismounts Swiftfire so she's not encumbered by him.

"Swfitfire, you know the drill.  Flame Charge, Fire Spin, 2 Embers.  Kirlia, 3 Confusions, try and dodge damaging poison attacks.  I want that Muk KOed before it does any lasting damage."

Flame Charge, Fire Spin, 2 Embers
Accuracy: 9 Base (10 After Flame Charge).  Fire Spin has -2 Accruacy, so the accuracy pools are...5/3/4/3 D6
Damage: 6 D6 base for all 3 moves.
Effect: +1 Dex, Trapping and damage, or Burn 1 (1)

Confusion x3 (Conditional evade if Kirlia would be hit by a damaging Poison type move)
Accuracy: 9 Base - 3/4/5 Actions = 6/5/4 D6
Damage: 7 D6 base +1 Damage
Effect: Confusion (1)

After a LONG cuddle to her fluffiest wad of cotton and having ensured her that she's doing better meanwhile, Cottonee finally agreed to enjoy some rest in her Pokeball. Actually, she didn't enjoy this swamp environment as the air around her was way too humid here, but she couldn't let master suffer alone, could she? In return, Azurill got herself comfy in her Master's arms. She wasn't very fond of the current surroundings either, but was delighted that she was able to help clearing the path and she trusted that Master would keep her safe from any harms that may await behind every single tree that the group passed. Shiva still kept Sarah nearby her, the fierly horse didn't seem to mind the surrounding.

At some point, she noticed that the flooded area nearby was not overgrown and filled with algea everywhere. Occasionally, there where spots that almost looked inviting... It was probably her curiosity what other plants and fruit grew there that caused Shiva to investigate closer. Not before informing her other party members about this, though!

Having arrived at the fluent 'shore', she placed Azurill down to the ground beside her, and first looked around. Neat, how should manage reaching something of her interest with minimum contact of the water... Before Shiva could mull over this though, Azu caught her attention. It seemed like the blue mouse was upset about something neither she, nor Master could see. Where they...not alone here? Did...some of the Pokemon that interupted the rest in the tent follow the whole time?? Very carefully, Shiva kneed down to her blue mouse to carefully stroke over her right ear in a way to comfort both. "What's wrong, Azu? Is there...something that distresses you? I'm beside you..."

Mechanics:
Azurill already encountered a Vaporeon at the Aquarium in Corsage Port, @Iron!~ Wonder how she'll react to see another one in the wild even...?

Hunting  out to be rather fruitful for the researcher and Apsis, as the regal snake was all to at home in the dank, stingeon expanses of the swamp, silently slithering through the foliage, snatching up and cawing down all the unfortunate Pokémon that were not Alert enough to pick up her approach. Such goulish eating habits would have been a point of contention for most Trainers, but Ventus Zakarieh was anything but the norm, seeing such behavior as both natural, justified, and healthy too. Years of research and seeing the myriad reaction of Disobedient Pokémon tends to leave one desensitized to such things too, so overall letting his Arbok eat wild Pokemon wasn't too bothersome in his opinion. Better than making her suffer through Pokechow or risk them devouring a Trainer beloved companion, at any rate!

During the course of them depleting the local wildlife's population, however, Ventus spots something that looks....strange lurking by a patch of plants, and motioned for his sister to be still. "Hmm...I don't think I recognize or recall that particular specimen, and the swamp is lurking with all sort of Pokémon waiting to inflict the worst maladies upon us, so let's take it slow for now and gather more information on it before we approach it, alright my sister?"

Order: Encountering the Rare Pokémon, and Ventus will wait until he knows more (IE, you reveal what Pokémon we are facing up against) before deciding his next course of action in regards to it. Rushing in blind tends to cause more problems than not, so my chara is staying put until he know enough to act in good consciousness!

Ventus brushes aside the patch of plants, but all he finds there is a pile of cotton.

The real threat comes swooping down from a black spruce, where its green body blended in well - all aside from a bright red crest. The strange Pokemon is not one that Ventus recognizes, for it is quite rare even where it is endemic. It seems to glide rather than fly.

Ambush: 2 Dex + 4 Survival + 1 Stealth
(2)(3)(6)(1)(1)(3)(5)

Alert: 4 Insight + 3 Survival + 0 Alert
(1)(1)(6)(1)(5)(5)(3)

Apsis turns and pins the colorful, birdlike/snakelike creature with its gaze. The creature suddenly stops, and dives suddenly into a puddle. There it lifts its head to peek suspiciously at Ventus and the hissing snake.

3 Dex + 4 Survival + 2 stealth
(4)(1)(2)(4)(1)(1)(6)(5)(1) - 2 successes

4 Insight + 2 survival
(3)(3)(1)(3)(3)(1) Shiva is staring right where Azurill pointed. She can't see anything though. Then Azurill looks confused - did the threat move?

Then Azurill goes flying as a mermaid's tail emerges from a different puddle and smacks the little mouse across the swamp!

Water Pulse
3 Dex +3 Fight + 2 Canalize
(2)(2)(1)(5)(6)(3)(3)(5)
3 Str + 3 power + 1 stab -3 vit = 4d6
(3)(5)(4)(3) Azurill takes 2 dmg 4/6hp -1 pain
Confuse: (4)(1)(1)

Muk rises from the ooze, blocking the way forward! It appears unphased by four Pokemon attacking it!

It controls the water around it, riding along on waves of its own making, corrupting the already disgusting water of the swamp!

Nathan runs up and sinks a bolt of purple energy into it just before Heart is subsumed.

Kirlia: (4) + 7 = 11
Swiftfire: (1) + 7 +1 = 8 +1
Aron: (5) + 4 = 9
Muk: (2) + 2 dex + 4 Survival = 8
Mudkip: (3) + 4 = 7

Muk Round 1

Confusion 1
(6)(2)(1)(5)(1)(2)
7d6-5 vit =2d6+1
(4)(4) Muk takes 3 dmg right off the bat. While in water he has 5 base HP. 7/10hp -1 pain.
Confusion: (2)

Iron Head 1
(3)(1)(1)(5)(1) The Eyes of Apsis are out today in force! Aron plunges headfirst...into water, not Muk. It's hard to tell which is which sometimes.

Flame Charge 1
9 base -4 actions = 5d6
(4)(5)(5)(6)(6) A critical hit.
+1 dex
(5)(4)(2) Muk takes 2 dmg 5/10hp -2 pain

Boss Sludge Wave 1
2 Dex + 5 Fight + 2 canalize -2 pain -3 actions = 4d6
(5)(4)(5)(4)
Evasion2: 9 dice, -4 actions = 5d6 (1)(1)(6)(4)(2)
3 Str + 4* power +1 stab. -3 vit =5d6. Aron is immune. Kirlia is +1.
(6)(6)(5)(5)(2) Mudkip and Swiftfire take 4 dmg 2/6hp -2 pain. Kirlia takes 5 dmg 2/7hp -2 pain.
Aron simply lets the poison wash right over him! In fact, it helps him get out of the mud.
Poison: (2)(4) - Looks like this wave is a little more volatile than a normal sludge wave!

Mud Slap 1
7 dice, -3 actions, -2 pain, -1 acc = 1d6
(5)
3 Str + 1 power +0 stab yet =1d6+1
(3) Muk takes 1 dmg 4/10hp -2 pain

Fire Spin 2
10 dice -2 pain -5 actions -2 acc =1d6
(3) No damage to Muk. About all it accomplishes is baking a small area of mud before water douses the fire.

Iron Head 2
(6)(5)(3)(1)
3 Str + 3 power +1 stab -5 =2d6
(5)(3) Muk takes 1 dmg 3/10hp -2 pain
Flinch: (3)(3)(5)

Muk stares down Aron. How has this thing not been hurt yet? It gets its bulk right up close. Aron can smell its foul Stench and he feels brown goo dribbling from Muk's mouth!

Mud Slap 2 on Aron
(6) after acc, pain, and the move's inherent inaccuracy
3 Str +1 power -3 vit = 1d6+2
(4) Aron takes 3 dmg 3/6hp -2 pain
-1 acc for Aron

Mud Slap 2 on Muk
Not enough dice with pain!

Confusion 3
(4)(2)
(1)(2) Muk takes 1 dmg 2/10hp -2 pain
Confusion: (6) Muk is confused!

Ember 3
10 dice -6 -2 pain = 2d6
(4)(5)
(6) Muk takes 1 dmg 1/10hp -3 pain
Burn: (6) Muk is burned!

Iron Head 3
(3) Miss. Aron plunges into Muk's expansive body and sticks there.

Insight: auto fail

Muk raises another muddy fist above Aron, bringing it up for the death stroke! Then it brings its muddy fist plunging down into its own body. It hurks up more mud; suddenly its body is absorbing the wet, filtering soil from the marsh's bottom.

Mud Slap on self
No accuracy dice remain
Dmg: (6)

Kirlia nods as another Muk slays itself in confusion.

Each of you get 5Xp to split among your Pokemon, and gain 5Xp yourself.

(...)

Apsis turns and pins the colorful, birdlike/snakelike creature with its gaze. The creature suddenly stops, and dives suddenly into a puddle. There it lifts its head to peek suspiciously at Ventus and the hissing snake.

The regal snake did not appreciate being the target of an Ambush by the weird green creature, letting out an irritated *Hiiiiissss!* and readying herself to lash out against the creature with an well place Ice Fang.....when Ventus put a hand on her side and told them: "Stop sister. This bird like snake likely only assaulted us to defend its territory. Let's not make an enemy of the local wildlife if we have to, alright ?" Apsis let out a grumbling noise at being forbayed from lashing out at the strange bird/snake chirmara , but for now she headed his orders, giving them Pokémon a warning/threatening look that just DARED them to abuse their master's generousity. She wouldn't trust it until it was either Fainted, Capture, or in her belly, and not a moment sooner, *Hiiss!*

Glad/Content that things were contained for the time being, the researcher pulled out  2 Oran Berries, and laid them on the ground in front of them, before calmly speaking to the mysterious creature. "Hello there! Sorry for intruding or trespassing, but my Arbok and I were just hunting in the area, and didn't mean to cause you any trouble. Would some Oran Berries help make up for this faux pass of ours?"

Order: Since befriending Pokémon worked so well for Nathan and Heart, how about Ventus has a go at it by bribing it with two Oran berries as a opener? If it refuses and tries to escape for whatever reason and/or attack them, Apsis will immediantely lunge out and use Wrap on it, before proceeding to Ice Fang it 2 times per round. If it just refuses and waits, then Ven's going to have to start bribing it even harder, now won't he?
