Nathan and Tandal cautiously approach the strange tree. It shudders as their footsteps approach. Tandal holds out a hand to stop their advance.
From here, you can see eight rubbery, whiplike roots, writhing slightly, gripping the gravel and soil of the swamp. The eponymous hog peanut vines cover the earth over the roots. Tiny drops of pink goo are scattered on the floor beneath the broad leaves, and visible at each crack or crevice in the tree's wood. On one branch grows a particularly large spherical concentration of the sap, already a foot in diameter and slowly swelling. The branch bends toward the ground beneath the weight of this burden.
At a mild gasp from Tandal, each and every one of the heavy leaves swivel to point at your hiding place.

Valder is fishing with an Old Rod and Survival 3.
(3)(2)(2)
All he fishes up is Magikarp after Magikarp!
Heart has the Good Rod, but Survival 1.
(5)
Heart pulls up a Corphish!
Shiva, going last and using the Good Rod, has Survival 2 and Nature 2.
(1)(5)
(4)(6)
She fishes up a magnificent Seaking. She knows that means this Fishing Hole is connected, possibly by temporal or underground streams, to some larger body of water.

Oh dear...as if the weird vines coming from the Skull Ruins weren't enough to deal with already...
If Swiftfire knew Inferno already, Nathan might have just had her use it on the tree and been done with the matter. This hardly looked natural...but she doesn't yet, so it looks like he's not going to be taking THAT approach...
That large concentration of sap on that singular branch looks weird...hmmm...for the most part, Nathan's trying to ignore the fact that this plant is a bit more mobile than most...
"What do you make of that bulge, Tandal? I think it's weird that only that one branch seems to have that accumulation."

"Mister Nathan, I have a suspicion. I'm not sure I should say yet. Do you have any gentle grass Pokemon with you? There is an experiment we can conduct. Gloom can use Absorb. I would like to see how a weak Grass type attack affects this strange tree. Or, as I think about it, a Water Gun from Totodile should make the same distinction. But I worry about damaging this strange tree, as well, so I will happily listen to other plans."

"All I have in that regard at the moment is a Skiddo that knows Vine Whip, since Kirlia doesn't know Magical Leaf yet. I was also thinking about potentially trying to dislodge some of that sap accumulating on that one branch with a Gust potentially. Either that spot is important, or there shouldn't be that much sap in that one spot on the tree."

"Gust would also help distinguish between the Grass and Rock types, though in the opposite direction. I think the weaker Gust is a better decision than my stronger Air Slash. And Combee is a good choice to investigate a strange plant overall. Go ahead."

Nathan nods.
"Zippy, see if you can't dislodge some of the sap accumulating on that branch with a Gust. Be ready to dodge out of the way and get out of range if things start going wrong."
One Gust on that big concentration of sap with two evasions should Zippy get attacked. Time to see if he can't put that nimbleness to good use!
Gust on the bulge
Accuracy: 5* Dex + 3 Fight + 3 Canalize - 3 Actions = 8 D6
Damage: Not sure if it's needed, but it's a base pool of 6 D6
Effect: Dislodge some of that sap maybe.
Evasion: 5* Dex + 3 Fight + 2 Evasion - 4/5 Actions = 6/5 D6

"Welp, no Legendary Escartress I guess....*sigh* At least it will be a good training. Koa! Your turn!" Then Heart bring his green dragon who shout to begin the battle! "Well, I think its time to test our little new move my friend! Time unleash your Clawns! Use Slash! Three times! But hold your Lethal power Koa! Faint him, not kill!"
Acuracy Slash 1: Dex (3) + Fight (2) + Brawl (3) - Actions (3) = 5d6
Acuracy Slash 2: Dex (3) + Fight (2) + Brawl (3) - Actions (4) = 4d6
Acuracy Slash 3: Dex (3) + Fight (2) + Brawl (3) - Actions (5) = 3d6
Damage Roll: STR (3) + Power (3) = 6d6
Notes: Hight Critical Chance and Lethal (but the Lethal damage is been hold)
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.

Going last surely had its benefit, as she could in all serenity sit there a little aside brushing through the cotton of her Cottonee, watch how the others rile in Pokemon from that fishing spot, and simply recover a little more until she feels relatively fine again. Ven happily handed her his Fishing Rod telling it's even a GOOD rod, wishing her good luck and giving her a winning smile, but somehow it was off - was she wrong, or was he really giving her an image of being absentminded? Why... His presence has been so warm until now.
It was when Heart approached her and handed her the rod that she looked up and a bit relucantly made her way to the fishing spot, Cottonee placing herself in her lap just like before. It took her a little longer until something alerted her - must be a Pokemon that go hooked. Given by the unexpectadly strong recoil, it must be quite a big Pokemon! ...Turned out it was a Seaking, which earned an a mused glance as Shiva has pulled it to the surface - the others barely had luck, then she, not really familiar with fishing, comes up and pulls out THIS.
Too bad Shiva was not really interested in obtaining a fish-Pokemon (they're still 'boring' to her), what got her more curious about what this Seaking meant - how neat it'd be to send her new Vaporeon down there to investigate whether this large body of water held more wonders. At the same time, she might not agree as it'd be too little of a cool trick for her to care.
Well though, now that she already had this Seaking on the hook... "Now, king of the sea, do listen. If I'd let you free to swim back where you came from, would you agree to show me some of your might by battling one my own Pokemon? To be fair, I won't use moves that'd hurt you greatly and aim to not faint you."
Yena only had a batch of Dry Food this morning. Maybe she'd enjoy sinking her teeth into a big magnificient fish?

Gust
(3)(3)(3)(5)(5)(5)(6)(3)
Combee expertly aims a gust of wind at the blob, or at the branch holding it. Whoosh! It comes loose and falls to the ground. The tree curls that branch in just slightly, still oozing a little pink sap. Tandal's eyes light up.
"Ligno!"
The big pink blob lands, splashes flat, and pulls itself upright. A face appears, two tiny black eyes and a nondescript smile. Then it shrinks, hardens, and takes to the air with a steely glint - it has become a Magnemite!
Thunder Shock 1
3 Dex + 1 Fight + 1 -2 actions
(2)(6)(3)
Evasion: (6)(4)(5)(5)(6)(2) Critical evade. Combee nimbly zips out of the way. He's even showing off a bit for Princess, how little he cares about an electric attack.
Thunder Shock 2
(4)(6)
Evasion: (3)(2)(1)(5)(4) Again the bee Pokemon evades. This time he's expecting it, so it's more methodical, but Princess is still pleased with her servant (never mind that he's following Nathan's commands, not hers).
Then the strangest thing yet happens. The trunk of the enigmatic tree splits open horizontally, revealing a line of pink. Two shingles shunt aside, revealing pink dots. A face. It's grinning, for now...
