[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

And I think that it's not difficult to see the post adventure stuff is when that would happen, if it happens at all.  Nathan doesn't have time to try and do any sort of breeding project right now, be it with one of his three rare genderless pokemon or the entirely new to the world Delta Houndour.

I think it's not really necessary to say that I have the same objections and worries about the breeding of more Delta Houndour, and definitely want to keep Ven in the game. Post-game is fine, Shiva will still hate it though as her attitude about these Deltas won't chance. This includes any hints of this plan.

Alright, let me be VERY clear with this since everyone is assuming the worst.

Nathan is NOT planning to breed Delta Houndour en masse and give them out to random people.

What he IS planning to do is breed them for a very select number of people, including those he trusts fully (if any) and two particular scientists who he knows are heavily invested in researching the dream world/alternate dimensions.

This is NOT happening during the campaign, though.

This is a good call, Dragon, as nothing really speaks against this.

However, I'm still highly undisclosed whether it'd be (be, not is) a good idea to hint or even share this plan of Nathan with the others of us, for good reasons. At the same time, I cannot estimate whether Nathan would be fine to simply keep this a thing only he knows and plans for after journeying, just like Shiva does with her aim to get a Nucleon. I mean, he DOES very well know that both Ven and pretty much she would disagree with that, but you mentioned he dislikes keeping secrets.

Issue is what to say if the question of what was with that tree arises? However, just to avoid chaos, I'd opt that this question does simply NOT arise or IF it does, have Nathan say something like he'd like to look into things on his own first, and be done with it.

Aww, really? Sweet, because this does mean Shiva and him will very very likely stay in contact to see one another on a regular basis, when she's less buy with work at Ginger Town's Daycare or studies for Telperion Uni.

I'll also say that Nathan would like to see Delta Houndour see more usage/recognition besides his and in research fields, but he does know that's not a realistic possibility in a short span of time, given how worrisome the species's abilities can be.  He wasn't lying to Tandal, but he was bending the truth ever so slightly.  Something he very, very rarely does, and only if he has good reason to.

Please please PLEASE save the arguments for in character.  I'm tired of all this OOC speculation and grief that seeks to influence my decisions IC when it comes to Orthros.  Nathan knows what he's doing with this dog, and he's not looking to cause any trouble.  In fact, he's still trying to minimize the trouble caused, as he's always been doing.

Then I'll simply have Shiva not ask what was so weird about that tree, and hope that none does either. Doesn't feel toO bad as she can simply decide to screw it and not care in return when none cared to ask her about what she's been doing meanwhile, and move on.

Specifically, Nathan dislikes keeping secrets he views as unnecessary.  He's certainly not going to outright say he has a Ditto, one of the two most valuable pokemon for anyone interested in breeding.  And he's even less likely to outright say what he plans to do with said Ditto.

He'll say something if pressed, but he will only say the bare minimum he needs to be honest about when it comes to the questions asked.

So does Ventus, but that's a topic for another time. Ventus, however, WILL notice shifty behavior if your character decides to speak in half statement about Ditto and its purposes, and will likely ask pointed/specific questions to illicit enough info out of them. Even if vague and minimal, their is a high chance that Ven will put the pieces together and become unhappy with such plans.

Best Idea would to have him say he fought Ligno with Tandel and have the both of you speak nothing of the Ditto captured, and then keep Ditto in box forevermore. That way Ventus gets to learn of Rare and Pokémon's location without learning you cought the mimic and start more drama between everyone else, and force me to get rid of him.

Or you could just not press him? That's obviously the simplest solution.
