[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Nomnomnom.

The final stretch of road to the village is well-maintained, though misty. There is evidence of trimming, cutting and harvesting of plants.

Tandal shows Shiva some incense plants: different varieties smell like wood smoke, sandalwood/eastern, peppermint, and...Muk.

The Pokemon are all quiescent along this final stretch. None attack you, but you spot them relaxing near the road.

Eastern Route 10 Encounters

1. Name: Tynamo
Cap: 1 (2)
Bid start: 1
Challenge: Very easy

2. Name: Ducklett
Cap: 1 (2)
Bid start: 1
Challenge: Easy
Notes: This Pokemon is skittish but nonaggressive. Seems they've been hunted.

3. Name: Pumpkaboo
Cap: 1 (2)
Bid start: 1
Challenge: Fairly easy

4. Name: Pokemon Egg
Cap: 1 (2)
Bid start: 1
Notes: a blue egg, floating down a creek at high speed.

Tandal would like either the Tynamo or the Pumpkaboo.

Eels/Lamprey are known to travel along waterways and infect new ones! Tandal says this Tynamo is not native and should be captured by SOMEONE.

All that mist along the way caused to appreciate both the faint glow Swiftfire's mane was emitting as well as being relatively safe on Metagross and even more safe due to sharing one with Ven. To carefully express that she values the protectiveness he seemed to emit she kept herself casually close to him while simply observing how the suroundings went by without really speaking to him.

That break at some point was still appreciated, as was Tandal's nuding of her towards some elusive plants that grew nearby the road! She thankfully harvests enough of every plant (including the...Muk-one) to later craft one or two incense sticks out of them, it's fine if they won't have an mechanical effect and just smell nice if burnt. Well, apart from the Muk-one which earned an expression as if being forced to take the most bitter-tasting medicine imaginable as Shiva picked up one stem of them to grind it between two fingers before testing their smell. However, maybe it'll be helpful at some point.

It was when was packing them away when Heart loudly expresses eager and joy and caused Shiva to see WHAT has caused such a reaction in the middle of a misty swamp - turns out it was a small tiny Tynamo floating nearby! Weird... What is one of those kind doing here by all means? They're even relatively rare in their natural habit in Unova... 'Not native' from Tandal already said a lot. His words about chasing down this Pumpkaboo Shiva has already seen from the corner of the eyes as she was harvesting plant - it left her alone for now, so she returned this - caused her call out Yena in quick movement, a flash of while light and a clearly visible cloud of shield dust in the mist in his direct direction. Shiva didn't gave any audible order to her Pokemon but motioned them with uncommonly high stoutness - her Poochyena understood and got a hold of Tandal's pant leg near the ankle with his teeth to stop him from chasing off. Doubtful that he'd let go of his 'prey' unless Master orders it, as well as doubtful that Tandal is able to shake the strong bite of a Poochyena off.

A few moments later, Shiva approached, not looking mad at all, but rather courios and pleased that her Pokemon nailed his 'prey'. "What do you mean by 'chasing it down'?, I wonder?"

Nathan's looking at the creek too.  But not because of that Tynamo Tandal spotted.

He's actually looking at something else...

Was that...an egg floating downstream?

It looked like it was moving fast...a little TOO fast...

Swiftfire's faster though, and there was NO way he was going to leave that egg to the mercy of the currents and whatever obstacles it might get cracked by.

Before anyone can even ask what Nathan's doing, he's off to chase down this egg!  Or rather, try to get ahead of it so Yule can catch it with Vine Whip and reel it in.  And Masq could also assist potentially by grabbing and slowing the egg for Yule...

Well, this certainly feels familiar, doesn't it?

"Excuse me, Miss Shiva. Please order your Pokemon to release me at once. I must say this is extremely rude."

Well, 'extremely rude' certainly hit a nerve somewhere deep, given that she actually lives the attitude of treating others, may it be people or Pokemon, respectful unless they blatantly hurt her.

"Yena, back to me. You did as ordered and you did pleasantly, but it's enough now." Just in case Yena does not agree, he'll be simply recalled, period. She enjoys that special Poochyena, but she's still Master and she won't allow him to do what he wants, even if he obeys orders usually.
In case he DOES agree and retreats to the side of her, he received an glnace that expressed just the same stoutness as when she ordered him to chase, but it was clear that she wasn't blaming him.

Tandal, however... Well, he received a rather deep bow from her to underline the follwoing ask for forgiveness. If it was clearly her who made a mistake here, there's no way she'd leave that unattended to poison the atmosphere between them. "Do forgive me on this, please. Thing is, the phrasing of chasing-down has a bad ring for me, and seeing that this Pumpkaboo completely left me alone as I saw it resting nearby where I collected the plants you showed me, I must have acted too fast here. Please don't take it as something personal."

When she was back up again, she had to lay back all her hair that fell forward due to bow, before facing him in a relatively clear expression. "Allow me in assisting you dealing with this Pumpkaboo. I'll leave it to you if you want to capture it too, even if I'd enjoy adding it to my collection. But, seriously, we shouldn't approach it like nothing, alright? This species is able to lay curses on other Pokemon via a unique move called Trick-or-Treat. I'm training my Poochyena to handle Ghost Types especially, so I'm willing to help you on this."

"Perhaps I acted rashly. Let us now make a plan! What precisely does Trick or Treat do? I believe it makes the victim spectral, does it not? I know one of the elders in the Preserve has the ability to remove that curse, but that is a long journey, so you are right to advise caution. If your good Poochyena would focus on tiring out Pumpkaboo with bite attacks, just until it is weary (-2 pain), I will focus on trying to capture it. Does that suit?"

The Tynamo does not look aggressive to Heart, but it is eating voraciously! There is so much plant life in this swamp that it can eat without ceasing.
