[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
Unlike everyone else in the group, Ventus, upon entering Arrowroot Village and scoping out the given, almost immediately beat feet to the general store to barter and trade with his newfound wealth, as in his opinion both him and the group needed the additional resource the income from the fine hatchet would provide. After entering the store and happily greeting his owners, the researcher browsed the wares availiable/ask question about them, and was simultaneously surprised yet oddly expectant of how expensive and/or inferior the goods here was to more modern items. 'Well, that will make restocking and dividing wealth among my party a more costly affair than I imagine, hmm......unless? From what I've seen, full price bartering is one of the primary methods of trade here, and Potion and the like have such high mark ups....yes, that would work!'

Having a Eurika moment, Ventus sold the Hatchel he had AND the Super Potion he was keeping on hand just in case his Pokémon (Or more likely Apsis) needed it, and then traded for 2 Pokeballs, 1 Antidote Lum Berry Extract, 1 Paralysis Lum Berry Extract, and a Yellow Apricorn (+ The equipment to grind it into dust, if it doesn't cost too much) for (4500+1225)-(300X2+350X2+150) = a net gain of 4275 Poke! The researcher considered restocking on health supplies as well, but decided to hold off against it since they didn't most of it didn't heal lethal damage or couldn't be used in battle, and the Sitrus Berry had to high of a price for his tastes. He wanted the most bang for his buck, and if that meant holding of purchasing these things, so be it!

Once he was done conducting lucrative trade at the General Store, he exited the place to explore the town to find a place where his shamalen could be repaired. If he did find a place, he first took a picture of himself with the instrument to make a record that it was his, before paying the craftsman the agreed upon price to repair it ($500 Poke, right Iron?), bid them good night, and finally left the Pokémon Center to get some rest. While he could have went to Shiva and gotten the instrument repair, he didn't want to (no offense to his dear, of course!) take any chance of the valuable object breaking under unexperienced hands, and the object was now a vital part to getting to the 'ends of the earth' for the group!

The first thing he did entering the Pokémon center was getting all his Pokémon checked up/healed by the local nurse, then he, regretfully, swapped out Abaddon for the weird/trecerous Carnivine he found in the swamp and, when he realized it would take ages for the swap to take place, set a timer that would alert him to come and pick them up. Ventus then went to the table that most of the group sans Shiva ('Where did that girl wander off to at this time of night? Oh well, I suppose I'll give her portion of the fund later....') was sitting at, and took a seat their, rummaged through his bags, and passed out the Poke he divided up for each member, $1000 for Nathan (Since Swiftfire costed him medical supplies), and $700 for Heart and Valder. Since Shiva wasn't here, he would keep her portion along with the rest of his Poke for now. (4275-1000-700-700-500[If he does find a repairer, Iron] = 1370, which will be 670 Poke of Profit once Shiva gets her 700 Poke, leaving him with a total of 670 + 370 = 1040 Poke to his name! Wheh, a lot of math going into this, amright?)

"Surprise, everyone! My trades at the general store were far more lucrative than I first thought they would be, so I decided to share the wealth among you, so that you make critical purchases with far more peace of mind than before. Its just my way of showing my thanks for all the help you've provided me and the joyfull experience we shared on our journey, so please accept it!" He then waits for anyone to respond to his generousity, before he decides to head to bed for the night. Its been many a long day trecking through the swamp, so by Reshirim he was going to savor sleeping in an airconditioned room and on a soft mattress, come heck or highwater!

Nathan takes the money, but doesn't really react in any noticeable way.  He doesn't really want to initiate any interactions with Ventus right now, and he's also anxiously waiting for both a response from his mom and the other half of his team to arrive, reviewing his surprisingly detailed notes relating to Mesprit's message and the Hog Potato Swamp...he wasn't sure how much stock to put in a local legend about an incarnation of the South Wind...there's a certain magic in the world of pokemon, yes, but...

He's stressed.  Really stressed.  On multiple fronts.  That earlier vision had shaken him quite badly...Kirlia's staying close to him and acting as a solid foundation as usual. He might be hurt a little, but Nathan was hurting more, and Kirlia's minor wounds would at least heal on their own with little trouble...

(Probably been somewhere between 2-3 hours since the party's arrived in the village since Ventus went shopping and stuff.)

Windos, your grinder costs 0$. And yes, $500 to repair it in a tiny canvas tent just FILLED with instruments and parts.

With the inordinate amount of stress and anxiety that Nathan visibly emitting with his body language and general demeanor, it didn't take an empath like Ventus to figure that the boy was not in the most optimal mental state right now. "Nathan...." the researcher slowly said, reaching out to touch his shoulder and get his attention as politely and delicately as he could, "What has gotten you into such a tizzy? I thought you would be relieved to enter civilization and have the chance to get into contact with your mother-I never got her name, did I?- , but it appears the opposite has happened. Is something else eating away at you? Its not good to keep it bottled up, so please tell me."

"...we're running out of time.  And her name's Marta, just so you know."

That's all Nathan says.  He doesn't even look up from his journal.  Something, anything...they can't be at the completely wrong end of Creshire, can they?  Gah...Solomon would be able to help with this, probably, find something Nathan might have missed...he'd probably love to hear some of the local lore and legends, too...

The researcher lets out a sigh at how high strung  the boy was being, before he placed a hand in front of his journel, hoping that rude interruption would get his full attention even though it would most likely piss him off. "Nathan, right now all of us are exhausted from a long journey through the swamp, and we just have arrived in Arrowroot and not even begun to conduct our investigations into the local lore/legend. Worrying yourself to the bone over this at the moment is a futile waste of energy, especially since you most likely have thoroughly review the information you have on hand now and found no definitive leads onto solving the crisis. Get some rest, and come back to the problem at hand with a fresh mind, alright? Doctor's orders," Ventus said, adding the last part with a half smile on his face in jest. At the very least if his attempt at lightening the mood fail, he'll rile up the boy out of his depressive funk!

Nathan would have said something...

...if his pokedex didn't beep with an alert that he'd received a message via email.

Nathan immediately puts the journal down (leaving it open on the page with the information concerning what Tandal had told everyone) and checks his email...

At first, he's extremely relieved.

But then he goes pale.  REALLY pale.  He's feeling a little woozy now...he actually drops his pokedex on the floor as he starts to fall over, Kirlia catching him...

Uuurrrgghh...he doesn't feel so good right now...

In a matter of seconds, Ventus is right by Kirlia's side supporting Nathan wieght as well, scooping up the boy's Pokedex and placing it where they took it from, before giving the young psychic a look that said 'Should I ask about this now, or leave it for when he's more stable?' The researcher's expression was remarkably serene for someone that saw a 'close' companion of his almost pass out in front of him, but one look at his eyes would tell you that he was anything but calm about this on the inside....

Kirlia gives Ventus a grateful look.  He's surprisingly strong for a Kirlia, but literally supporting someone is still a stretch for him.

...and then Kirlia looks at the pokedex...what did Nathan read on there that was so stressful?  He kinda wished he could read like Solomon could right now...

...he looks back at Nathan...still pale...this wasn't going to get any better, was it?

...he looks back at Ventus...nods.

Kirlia doesn't like it much, but he can't fix this problem himself...
