Kirlia had actually been doing his best to try to dance along to the music that had been playing all morning. The results were...mixed, and he was so focused on trying to get it right for Nathan that he's startled when Ventus comes knockin'!
"Yeah, come in..."
Nathan has his journal out again, once more reviewing his notes (as well as munching on that donut and looking at that crude Mutios effigy) in between Kirlia's dances. There's a very solemn, almost defeated feeling in the air...Kirlia's feeling a little sad too...

Ventus couldn't help the sigh that escaped his lips seeing Nathan look/feel so lifeless and despondent , as demonstrated how vulnerable the boy was to the ardors of expectation, stress, and pressure, but then again receiving THAT sort of noise from anyone (least of all their mother!) does not make them a ray of happiness. Still, the researcher mustered his good cheer and put a small smile on his face, greeted them by saying "Good morning, Nathan. I trust you've made a full recovery, if not in the mind but at least the body? Sorry for not visiting sooner, but....." and then launching into his explaination as to why he was gone most of the morning. He recounted his and Shiva's morning together, telling them about the Revarend, and his own experiments and success in Potion making.
Once he was finish, he patiently waited for them to respond, as he hardly wanted to rush them at a delicate time like this!

That atmosphere and feeling lingering here in the air of the room... It was almost suffocating for a highly emotional person like Shiva was. In fact, she couldn't help that faintly agonized *cough* once having entered and joining Ven to greet Nathan. Chikorita got recalled into the safety of her Pokeball meanwhile, before she and Ven arrived at the room.
One part of her was reminded on her own horrible struggles and how she was about to surrender when she couldn't take things anymore back in Corsage Port - another part of her reminded her on how different she actually was. Different in the means of her when freshly having received her dear sweet wad of cotton and how she was unlike her travel companins anyway. How she was about to - or already has - grown a tad bit stronger if she's very honest to her and her mind - it was a very fragile and pure feeling, like a thin layer of ice one wanted to transport.
For the second time in a short amount of time she mentally shook her head to end this trail of thought. Once being back on earth again, she DID pick up how Nathan was in it again, probably resuming where he stopped yesterday according to what Ventus told her: Looking through his notes trying to figure things out. She sighed impercible on this before carefully speaking up. She took an effort to sound well and alright towards him.
"It's good to see you having restore some of your strength by getting some rest, Nathan. ...What's not so good to see, yet understandable I must admit, that you're jumping into it immediately afterwards again. You told me you where fine yesterday, and a little later... Do excuse me, but you're pondering about what we should and can do now to save Stair City, do you? If you're so concentrated on your journal... You see, you're burdening yourself with everything once again, trying to carry all the responsibility on your very own, which brought you here, when you'd actually don't have to. But, let's not elaborate on this anymore, not here and not now." ... "So, you made any progress concerning a journey to the ends of the earth and beginning of the land? I have meanwhile as I've looked into things as well."

She observed the room with shy interest while Ventus was already conducted the trade, she made haste to return to his side once the registration has been done to receive her grassy Pokemon while admirering that intense smile of his. Very coyly, she returned it to him. ^-^
Thing was, she already had six Pokemon on hand... But, now she actually had no more use to carry that Pineco with her, so she'll send it to her PC as soon as the Chicorita's Pokeball began to blink. For now, it can lay around there, probably way later in the city she'll be able to find someone who trades her something for that exploding pine cone.
This actually very faintly felt like starting the journey through the region a second time, was this a rare second chance? A new start, to make a difference now...? It didn't fel 'real', but nevertheless it strongly reminded her when she was there to receive her bred Cottonee from Professor Mallorn. It was storming outside, this is something she'll likely won't forget that easily, same with the fact that back then, she was fine...or rather different. Things have changed, in a good and bad way, concerning herself and the group as well... Oh, HOW they changed! But even if given the chance, would she change anything? She wasn't sure about that, at all, but if she wouldn't have succumbed to the friendly convincement eventually that journeying would benefit herself in person and her carreer in the field of Breeding Pokemon, she would have never been right here.
Mentally shaking her head both to end this trail and thought and to softly bring her away from any melancholic thoughts, Chikorita got called out in a swift movement right away! Shiva very carefully picked it up to hold it in her arms and almost immediately her senses where flooded with that sweet scent her new Pokemon was emiting. She wasn't sure whether it really was that strong or whether it was just her anticipation. "So... It's as your former caretaker says, you'll come with me now. No, this isn't my start of the journey and you're not my first Pokemon, sadly... I'm coming from faaar away. But, this also means that I already have a few other Pokemon you can meet later! There are Grass Types as well among them. From now on, I'll be responsible for your well-being and safety, and I'd liek to let you know that I'm not much of a battler, so please don't be disappointed when we spend more time, well, spending tme with one another than engaging in a battle. Alright, dear one?" (Insert reaction for Cikorita here, @ Iron)
++++++++++++++
Oh, right... He foreshadowed that already. The trade is conducted, they bid goodbye to the Professor/Reverand and Shiva thanked Ven properly along the way... Relatively soon, her smile soon faded away into the abyss to make room for a sad and serious expression while bringing Chikorita (who was still in her arms) a bit closer to chest. Her reply was relatively straightforward, which was uncommon for someone who knew Shiva for a bit longer. "Yes, I do believe we should do that, Ven."
Chikorita is fine with that! She's not much of a battler yet herself. She makes her emotions known with the release of particular spicy scents: She lets Shiva know this is OK by releasing the scent of calming lavender.

Nathan finds it difficult to look at Shiva and Ventus as he responds...he opts to continue looking at his journal instead. It's easy to see the tears regardless...
"...two days. At best. Then people and pokemon start dying...a week, and Stair City will have been lost...it took us 4 days to get here, and we still don't know where the tip of the tusk is besides the vague assumption that it's at the opposite end of the Great Divide...it'd take us another 4, maybe 5 days to get there at best, and we wouldn't know where to start looking..."

The scent of lavender is very fine and promptly earned that Chicorita a hug from her new Master that was just as calming.
One things Shiva was somewhat sure as Nathan elaborated on the math of how many days or they seemingly had left, and that was that she will not completely stress herself to pure exhaustion when preparing for the ritual. One must spend time doing so, Prof./Rev. Cottonwood said (yet he didn't mention how much time, but it very likely differs greatly), and she'd rather do that than to fail things eventually. It had priority though.
Guess Shiva has to lift her voice a little to get Nathan's attention, or phrase her words better. Or both. "Maybe you didn't got what I mentioned, or you're deciding to ignore it and further stressing yourself. What I wanted to say is that I have found out things that have a high chance to progress us on preventing Stair City from falling. It has to do with what Ventus just hinted on, the elusive Southern Wind Incarnate. Do you allow me to share and you give your thoughts 'bout it or not?"

Mannawhehi Round 3
Mamoswine's trainer stomps the ground and points where he thinks Clauncher will end up. His prediction is exactly correct!
Mud Slap
(1)(4)(2)
(6)(4)(6)(3)(2)(1) Gustav takes 3 dmg. 2/6hp -2 pain.
-1 Accuracy, too.
Crabhammer 1
(6)(2)
Your damage pool is off slightly (last round too). Super effective doesn't add to the dice pool, it adds a +1 auto damage. So it's not 8d6, it's 7d6+1 - which is better. Then I subtract 4 Vitality, leaving 3d6+1.
(3)(2)(2) Mamoswine takes 1 dmg 4/11hp -2 pain.
Crabhammer 2
(4)
(6)(4)(2) Mamoswine takes 3 dmg 1/11hp -3 pain.
The mammoth is staggering greatly, leaving giant footprints. Clauncher has to watch against accidental crushing.

Heart changes again to bring his little tree back to finish off that big Mamoth. "Okay then Viktor! Time to finish off that big Mamoth okay?!" The little ghost tree nods. "Alright then! Avoid his next attack then use Feint Attack!" Heart is ready to use a potion if the dodge dont work and Phantump got any extra damage
Dodge: Dex (3) + Fight (2) + Evasion (1) - Action (2) = 4d6
Feint Attack Acuracy: Dex (3) + Fight (2) + Brawl (3) - 1 Pain - Actions (3) = 4d6
Damage: STR (3) + Power (2) = 5d6
Notes: Feint Attacks never miss.

Mannawhehi Round 4
Powder Snow
(4)
Evasion: (5)(2)(4)(5) The stump avoids the haphazard slush quite nimbly.
Feint Attack
(3)(2)(4)(2)
(2)
Mannawhehi Round 5
Powder Snow
(4)
Evasion: (4)(5)(3)(2)
Feint Attack
(5)(5)(6)(3)
(5) Mamoswine faints with a solid THUMP. The Mamo tribesman raises his eyebrows and touches an Apricorn to his Pokemon, recalling it.
Will Heart change Pokemon? Mannawhehi has a new Apricorn in hand.
