[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
One Last Obstacle...: One Who Gets in Our Way 8-bit Remix by coatlesscarl - Xenoblade Chronicles

Nathan is glaring at that Beartic.  He recalled Ditto when they started the climb, since a Rapidash isn't exactly very useful on the vertical side of a mountain.  He could always bring it back out and have it turn into a Metagross if he has to, but...

Drat...he wasn't prepped for a fight like this.  He knew they were doing the ritual, that it might bring them out here...why hadn't he thought to...

...oh, right.  Castform.  His backpack is weighing heavy on him still...

...he was going to protect this egg, protect Stair, protect Creshire...he didn't know if he could...

...but even if he couldn't, he was going to go down swinging.  Regardless of whether he's at his best.

But with the wind's help, maybe he could still do something...he could move fast...faster than EVER before...as fast as Sid...

...maybe even FASTER.

Nathan's feeling a strange excitement from that thought.

"Orthros, get ready.  Time to fulfill your role as my guard dog for real now.  Show 'em something to be scared of, then blast that Beartic with Embers.  Kirlia will back you up with Confusions after he's centered himself.  Kirlia, do NOT drop that pearl here.  Put it in the bag for now."

Orthros (He'll be menacingly staring down the enemies from where he is, then firing ranged attacks from his position. Nathan's physically holding him, though, so this could get dangerous depending on what attacks come his way...)

Leer (On Kabutops, both Gliscor, and Gible)
Accuracy: 6* Dex + 3 Fight + 0 Intimidate - 5 Actions = 4 D6 (Okay, maybe a semi-scary dog in a 16 year old's arms isn't THAT intimidating...but maybe it will work anyways?)
Effect: -1 Defense for all targeted.

Ember x4 on Beartic (switching to using Extrasensory on the remaining targets if Beartic goes down)
Accuracy: 6* Dex + 3 Fight + 3 Canalize - 6/7/8/9 Actions = 6/5/4/3 D6
Damage: 3 Strength + 2 Power + 1 STAB + SE = 6 D6 base + 1 Damage (7 D6 base if Extrasensory is being used)
Effect: Burn 1 (1) (Flinch (1) if Extrasensory is being used)

Kirlia (Let's hope this combo goes better than it did last time...also, lots of psychic powers.  Nothing fancy needed here, right? He'll just sit where he is and happily do what he needs to without needing to budge an inch.)

Lucky Chant (well, maybe one fancy detail in that Kirlia's going to be focusing on the South Wind for this Lucky Chant.  Hopefully she grants a little more aid when Kirlia asks for it...)
Accuracy: 6* Dex + 3 Fight + 2 Perform - 5 Actions = 6 D6
Effect: The party is immune to critical hits and can ignore the effects of (1)(1) pairings.

Calm Mind
Accuracy: 12 base - 6 Actions = 6 D6
Effect: +1 Strength and Defense

Confusion x3
Accuracy: 12 base - 7/8/9 Actions = 5/4/3 D6
Damage: 4* Strength + 2 Power + 1 STAB = 7 D6 base (because the clamperl pearl is going in Nathan's bag just so the Gliscor can't knock it off and drop it hundreds of feet.  That would NOT be fun.)
Effect: Confusion (1)

Order of Targets for both pokemon: Beartic first, then the Gliscor (whichever one is more wounded comes first), then Kabutops, then Gible.

Nathan's also got 2 Sweetroots ready for use, one for Kirlia, one for Orthros.  Once per pokemon, he'll use a Sweetroot on them if they hit a -2 or -3 Pain Penalization.

Heart was suposed to be startled but his eyes was shining and big like Rapidash anime eyes. "My Arceus! A rare alive Kabutops! My Rare Collector side is awake guys! And a gible! Man I want to capture any of those. You can have the Gible if anyone want but I NEED to capture that rare fossil Pokemon!" Then Heart bring his Pokemon Gustav and Koa out of his Pokeballs. He then quick Viktor and Rose to they Pokeball to avoid them be faint. "Shiva! Ventus, can you take care of these nasty Beartic and that beautiful Kabutops? I want try to capture the Kabutops! I a pokemon rare collector you know? Nathan you can help them? Me and Valder will take care of these Gliscors and Gible." Heart smash his hands in antecipation for the battle. "Alright! Gustav use Bubbles in all the enemies here two times since that move can hit more them one enemy them finish the mostly hurt Gliscor with Water Pulse! Koa! Use Slash against Gible three times but hold your Lethal Damage! Let him alive to Ventus or me to capture it then I will try capture the Kabutops!"

Bubbles 1 Acuracy: Dex (3) + Fight (2) + Canalize (3) - Actions (3) = 5d6
Bubbles 2 Acuracy: Dex (3) + Fight (2) + Canalize (3) - Actions (4) = 4d6
Water Pulse Acuracy: Dex (3) + Fight (2) + Canalize (3) - Actions (5) = 3d6

Bubbles Damage: STR (3) + Power (2) + STAB (1) + SE against Gliscors (1) = 5d6 +1 against Gliscors and 5d6 against Gibble
Notes: 1 chance dice to reduce the Dex of them enemies and hit all the foes.

Water Pulse Damage: STR (3) + Power (2) + STAB (1) + Mega Launcher Ability (2) + SE against Gliscor = 8d6+1
Notes: 3 Chance Dice to Confuse the foe.
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.

Seeing that twig Valder happily and casually chewed on faaaaall and faaaaaaall and faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall gave Shiva an incredibly cold shiver that had nothing to with the steely coldness of the Metagross, nor with the group being up in the mountains at night, nor with the Ranger's cloak having reached its limit to keep one warm.(Never!) She snuggled up closer into the familiar black fabric covering her being, double-checked on the knot of the rop that tighted her both to Metagross and another party member (probably Ven, as he's on the same Metagross + the one Shiva trusts most), before blatantly and directly forcing herself to look up to the cliff in direction Heart, and into the stars.

You're scared, my dear?
...No. Well, a bit. Actually, a lot.
You're not alone here. Concentrate, stay alerted and you should be fine. The stars protect you as well.
Hmm.

...That not-fear only increased at the sight of an ancient Pokemon coming up the cliff they where currently mastering as well! These razorsharp claws, that rocky helmet, that aggressive sparke in its eye... Somewhere she already saw that, but only as a fossil during a visit of Nacrene City's museum: Kabutops. Ugh.

Even ancient things and beings bend under the pressure and glory of nature.
Oh...

If...that's the case, let the glory of nature shine, so out of their Pokeballs came Cottonee and Nightshade! Both sticked close to their Master for warmth and easing nerves, and quickly noticed the threat the group has run into up here. Eh... "Nightshade, dear cherry blossom, don't be afraid. I won't let you fall. Fluffball, dearest, I trust in your loyalty and energy sapping. Right now, we have THIS Kabutos as our enemy, watch closely how your Grass Type moves wear it down. Feel that wind empowering us, go for GigaDrain and Magical Leaves, please. Ah, Cottonee, wait a moment! Please hand me that Incense you're carrying hidden in your fluff. I crafted it on my own, as well I don't think I have any more Spindleweed. Only those herbs Tandal showed me on the way to the village, so it'd be double-saddening especially since there's no chance to retrive it." Oh, she also noticed that Gible... Dragon Slaying ahead~ Beartic... Do want. Such a worthy Pokemon! Gliscors... Ugh. Just...ugh. Shiva was still scared, much, but it seems she makes a fine job hiding it.

------------------------------
NOTE: These calcs are done with +2 Dext by Lucifer's Tailwind. If that's wrong, feel free to substract 2 dice of Accuracy Rolls.

Accuracy Roll GigaDrain1: 5*Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Channel - 3 Actions = 7 d6
Accuracy Roll GigaDrain2: 5*Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Channel - 4 Actions = 6 d6
Accuracy Roll GigaDrain3: 5*Dext + 2 Fight + 3 Channel - 5 Actions = 5 d6
Damage Roll: 3 Strenght + 3 power of the move + 1 STAB = 7 d6 + 2 autodamage due to double-SE
Additional notes: Restores Health half the damage done. Only two actions if Tailwind does not empower us. Switch to Fairy Wind on Gible if Kabutops is down and there are still actions possible. Dark, Water and Grass Type moves from Kabutops are NE on Cottonee.

Accuracy Roll Magical Leaf1: 5* Dext + 2 Survival + 2 Nature - 4 Actions = 5d6
Accuracy Roll Magical Leaf2: 5* Dext + 2 Survival + 2 Nature - 5 Actions = 4d6
Accuracy Roll Magical Leaf3: 5* Dext + 2 Survival + 2 Nature - 6 Actions = 3d6
Accuracy Roll Magical Leaf4: 5* Dext + 2 Survival + 2 Nature - 7 Actions = 2d6
Damage Roll: 3 Strenght + 2 power of the move + 1 STAB = 6d6 + 2 autodamage due to double-SE
Additional notes: This move hits even if the Accuracy Roll fails. Only 3 Actions are taken if Tailwind does not empower us. Switch to Gliscor if Kabutops is down and there are still actions possible, Magical Leaf does normal damage on it. Grass, Ground, Water and Electric Type (Thunder Fang!) moves are NE on Nightshade.

Initiatives:

Orthros (6) + 9 = 15
Gliscor Male (6) + 8 = 14
Gliscor Female (5) + 8 = 13
Kabutops (3) + 9 = 12
Mamo (4) + 8 = 12 (Provisional, to be sent out later possibly)
Kirlia (2) + 9 = 11
Theo (3) + 8 = 11
Gible (3) + 7 = 10
Raphael (3) + 7 = 10
Nightshade (3) + 7 = 10
Cottonee (2) + 7 = 9
Beartic (1) + 7 = 8
Lucifer (1) + 7 = 8
Gustav (1) + 6 = 7
Koa (1) + 6 = 7

Should include Tailwind and tiebreakers. I'm off to bed so feel free to make changes to your battle orders based on this initiative and the information revealed so far.

You all find yourself still moving quite rapidly, especially as your adrenaline pumps like it's never pumped before! Anyone or any Pokemon who participated in the ritual can feel Altaria's humming echoing in their hearts.

The battle looks very dangerous, even with tailwind, since you cannot stand on your feet. It's a sheer cliff. You can, however, stand on the Metagross and use them as a launching point. Feel free to describe how you plan to pull off your moves: for example, Theo can dig his spikes in like cleats. Koa will have more difficulty and may need to get creative.

Earth Guardians Round 1

Kabutops leaps from mud to mud as if he's a fish cresting the waves. He comes jetting out of a spot the Metagross could surely never use and crashes into Orthros, spraying mud and water everywhere.

Aqua Jet 1
5 Dex + 4 Fight + 4 = 13 dice, -5 actions = 8d6
(4)(3)(4)(3)(1)(1)(1)(2)
5 Str + 2 power + 1 STAB -3 vit = 5d6+1
(1)(3)(4)(3)(1) Dammit! Orthros takes 1 dmg 5/6hp

Kabutops' attack only clips Orthros. The big Pokemon sinks his blades into the spire again to slow his onrushing momentum, and turns for another attack on the roped party.

Orthros glares right back. It's actually to his advantage that Kabutops has now come so close.
Leer 1
(1)(3)(2)(4)
-1 Defense for Kabutops, Gliscor, Gliscoress, and Gible

Two bats clash in the air above the mountain, scratching and biting at each other.
Night Slash 1 on Lucifer
4 Dex + 4 Fight +2 = 10 dice, -4 actions = 6 dice
(5)(2)(1)(4)(4)(6) Ventus, with his keen eye for revenge, notices that Gliscor is very careful not to strike at any vital body parts: it's a nonlethal attack. But it is a critical hit.
5 Str + 3 power -5 vit +2 crit = 5d6
(5)(6)(5)(2)(4) Lucifer takes 4 dmg 4/8hp -2 pain

The third bat flies down to sting precious Cottonee!
Poison Jab 1
(5)(2)(4)(1)(4)(1)
5 Str + 3 power -3 vit = 5d6+2
(4)(6)(2)(4)(4) Cottonee faints.
Poison: (1)(3)(5)
As Cottonee falls out of the air, the female Gliscor grabs Cottonee and deposits her safely on the Metagross.

Obedience: (1) vs (2)(4)(2)
Mamo clomps out onto the spire. He actually has no problem at all sticking to the frost and mud, so he's as sideways as the Metagross right now.
But he's having too much fun reliving his primal instincts to fire off any attacks. A mammoth on a frosty mountain: what could be better?

Lucky Chant 1
(5)(1)(4)(1)(6)(2) That's the last time bad luck will affect this battle. It's all skill here on out, and the blessing of the Wind.

Metal Claw 1 on Beartic
(6)(4)(6)(5)(5) Critical hit.
4 Str + 2 power + 1 Stab + 2 crit - 3vit = 6d6+1
(6)(2)(4)(3)(4)(4) Beartic takes 5 dmg 6/11hp -1 pain.
Chance: (3)

The land shark appears again, bursting out of the dry part of the mountain. A steady rain of sand begins pouring down on the battlefield, encouraging Gible and the Gliscor even more. Visibility becomes low, and though the Metagross do not flinch, many of your Pokemon struggle within the sandstorm.

Sandstorm 1
9 dice -4 actions = 5d6
(1)(3)(2)(4)(4)
A Sandstorm brewed

After You 1 on Lucifer
(4)(2)(4)(3)(4)(4) Lucifer goes first now

Encouraged by his angelic airborne brother, Lucifer lets out a painful Screech.

Screech 1
(6)(5)(4)(2)
-2 Defense for Beartic

A flurry of leaves joins the chaos of the sandstorm, swerving unerringly toward Kabutops, who attempts to carve the leaves to shreds with one blade while the other holds him in place.

Magical Leaf 1
(5)(2)(5)(6)(4) - 4 successes
Evasion: 5 Dex + 4 Fight + 2 evasion +1* -6 actions = 6d6
(5)(4)(5)(3)(1)(3) One of the leaves does make contact!
(1)(2)(1) It's just one leaf that hits...but whoa! It does even more damage than expected! Kabutops takes 3* dmg. 6/9hp -1 pain.

A storm of frost roars out from Beartic to join the Sandstorm.
Powder Snow 1 on Lucifer, Orthros, Mamo, and Kirlia
3 Dex + 4 Fight + 2 -1 pain -4 actions = 4d6
(4)(4)(4)(3)
5 Str + 2 power +1 stab = 8 base dice. -3 vit minimum.
(4)(3)(3)(4)(2) Kirlia takes 2 dmg. 5/7hp -1 pain.
Mamo takes 2 dmg.  9/11hp -1 pain.
Orthros takes 1 dmg 4/6hp -1 pain.
Lucifer takes 3 dmg 1/8hp -3 pain.
Chance: (6) Lucifer, Orthros, Mamo, and Kirlia are frozen.
Orthros thaws right away as he was building up an Ember (but it will be expended to melt the ice). Mamo stays glued to the mountain; he's immune to freezing. Kirlia is with Nathan. Lucifer begins to fall and unlike the Gliscor, Beartic pays no mind to this danger. But Raphael is able to haul Lucifer to the cliffside, where the ice cements him in relative safety.

Bubble 1 - this move is almost strong enough to affect every Pokemon, but it fails to hit *roll* Kabutops. It can only affect 4 Pokemon at our current power level.
(1)(4)(5)(2)(3)(4)(2) This move has a surprisingly strong impact on Beartic. It's more effective than you expected against an Ice type.
6 base damage dice, Beartic has 1 vit so he takes 5*d6+1*
(2)(1)(5)(3)(1) That's lucky. Beartic takes 2 dmg 4/11hp -2 pain.
Gliscors have 2 vit, which doesn't change anything in this case. The Gliscor also take 2 dmg. 7/9hp -1 pain.
Gible's typing lets him take just 1 dmg. 5/6hp.
Chance: (5)

Slash 1
(4)(3)(4)(5)(4)(3)(2) Critical hit, rivalry.
3 Str + 3 power +2 crit +1 rivalry -2 vit = 7d6
(6)(4)(4)(1)(4)(6)(1) Gible faints. He sinks halfway into the earth, just his fin poking out.

That's just the first action from everybody. It took an hour to type up and roll, so you guys can check it for errors while I work on the next round and have lunch. You can't give orders or send out new Pokemon since it's still Round 1.

No need for Ventus to glare at Beartic for freezing Lucifer.  Nathan's got that covered for Lucifer, Orthros, AND ESPECIALLY Kirlia.  Nathan's almost hyper-aware of everything going on around him.

He's not even particularly bothered that Kabutops's sickle went right past his face as it clipped Orthros.

But underneath all that bravado amidst this chaos is that fear and lack of confidence...he might actually fail here...

...that Beartic needs to go down...now.  The combee can fight, but there needs to be fewer foes that have type advantages against them...and he only has so many resources to expend on healing...

(4)(6)(2)(4)(4) Cottonee faints.
Poison: (1)(3)(5)
As Cottonee falls out of the air, the female Gliscor grabs Cottonee and deposits her safely on the Metagross.

She was already fearing for the worst when she saw that Gliscor striking down in direction of her fluffball. She didn't wanted to watch it, but she failed to avert her gaze... She just hoped it won't...

... ... ... ...wrong, very wrong, oh so VERY wrong it was poison in the end who defeated her grassy fairy. Toxins. Her dearest fluffball... Shiva could barely even move, it was like she has frozen right there on the spot, and it had nothing to do with the temperature or the polar bear involved in battle. In her emotions, emptiness began to reign. Does this feel like you loose a fluffy friend for life?

Only when the other Gliscor placed her Pokemon there in front of her on the Metagross, Shiva somewhat found her way back to reality - and in a swift sweeping gesture, she held Cottonee VERY close to her, she couldn't help but to practically press her Pokemon against herself like it's the most precious thing in the world, very soon silent tears began to moisten her Pokemon's fluff. Every single one of them was boldly marked with the word 'grief'. It was a moment of intense heartache for her, time must have slowed down.

It didn't take long until that grief developed into an ICY FURY. The fact that Sinkhole happened hours ago only incinerated that even more. Shiva didn't even cared about that sandstorm, all she wanted was 1. revenge and 2. get out here alive. This wasn't yet vile-witch-mode, but it certainly came close to that - wthin the last moments of her temper boiling up, she made it to cool it down - a wrong move here in the situation and she'll loose WAY MORE than the consciousness of her Cottonee. Shiva spoke no single word either, she simply kept glaring at EVERY foe. They'll pay - in one way or the other.

I want to give her a well-deserved +1 point in Intimidate-Speciality here, spending 6xp.

Earth Guardians Round 1 cont

Ember 2
(5)(2)(1)(6)
All this does is defrost Orthros. He shakes himself off, getting water all over Nathan.

A Gliscor comes swooping at Shiva, arms and wings spread as wide as possible, looping and dive bombing her and her Pokemon!

Acrobatics 2
(4)(2)(3)(3)
Shiva is granting a small amount of cover.
5 Str + 4 power + 1 stab - 3 vit = 7d6. Shiva will take 2 of those.
(2)(1) Phew! The attack only removes Shiva's sleeve.
(1)(1)(3)(3)(5) Nightshade is revealed, trembling, but only taking the minimum of damage to one of her leaves. 1 dmg 5/6hp.

Nightshade hops down to fight on her own.

The other Gliscor flies upward, and the earth follows as if Gliscor is a powerful magnet. It rises to engulf Orthros and Nathan's position.

Earthpower 2
(4)(4)(6)(5)
5 Str + 3 power + 1 STAB -3 vit = 6 dice, Nathan will take 1.
(1) He merely feels the natural magic wash over him, muddying his clothes but doing no damage. It leaves him with a major sense of awe, much like Princess was displaying earlier.
(4)(5)(3)(5)(5) Orthros takes 5 dmg and faints in Nathan's arms.

Kabuto evaded last turn.

Kirlia, seeing his comrade fall in battle, tries to calm his worried mind. He feels Nathan's edge of despair. This will help not only in battle but in coping. But he's too cold.

Theo skates over and strikes the massive bear again.
Metal Claw 2 on Beartic.
(2)(1)(1)(2)(3)(2) He skates right on past. Whee!

After You 2
(3)(2)(3)(4)(6)
Gustav moves to the top of the initiative order

He fires off another Bubble. Since Gible fainted, he manages to hit all the enemies!

Bubble 2
(4)(5)(2)(1)(3)(1) Success
6 dice. Beartic will take 5d6+1. Gliscor 4d6+1. Surprisingly, much like Beartic, Kabutops takes an extra damage (4d6+1)
(1)(1)(1)(4)(4) Beartic takes 3 dmg. 1/11hp -3 pain.
The Gliscor take 2 dmg. 5/9hp -1 pain.
Kabutops takes 2 dmg. 4/9hp -2 pain.
Chance: (4)

More leaves come from Shiva's hand, their cheerful source exposed.
Magical Leaf 2
(5)(6)(2)(4)
Kabutops gains 2 def from Sandstorm. Since most of his damage comes from the supereffectiveness, I won't bother to edit last post for this.
(1)(2) Kabutops takes 3* dmg 1/9hp -3 pain. This time, the monster is already rushing toward Theo, both raising their blades at each other defiantly. The attack from the revealed Cherubi isn't a very strong one, but it tears right through Kabutops' weakened defenses and strange vulnerability.

Beartic, wounded quite badly, raises his claws and roars to summon a blizzard. But the sandstorm overwhelms it. (not enough dice).

Koa moves on to the male Gliscor, which he seems to have a great hatred for. While it recovers from attacking Shiva, he dives over there and attacks it. Shiva finds herself holding 40 pounds of angry dragon.

Slash 2
(2)(1)(3)(2)(3)(2) As you can imagine, this is not a good vantage to attack from. The attack fails.

Gustav is now at the top!

Water Pulse 3
(4)(3)(6)(5)(1)
(4)(4)(1)(6)(5)(6) Gliscor Male faints.

The female Gliscor dives on Gustav and begins to suck his juices with charged fangs. Vengeance for her mate.

Thunder Fang 3
(3)(5)
7 dice, -3 vit = 4d6+1
(5)(3)(3)(1) Gustav takes 2 dmg 4/6hp -1 pain
Chance: (2)(5)(4)
Flinch: (4)(2)(5)

Kabutops waves his sickles like he's conducting an orchestra. He stares at Theo, and earthpower leaps up to engulf him.

Earthpower 3
13 dice, -7 actions, -3 pain = 3d6
(2)(2)(3) Theo rides the wave, still staring down Kabutops.

Raphael can't use After You on Cottonee, so he elevates Theo instead, knowing that Valder is an employee of his master.

After You 3
(1)(6)(5)(6)

Magical Leaf 3
(2)(1)(2) The magic missile swerves and hits Kabutops.
(6)(5) That's an overwhelming amount of damage. He faints, one sickle sinking into the soft earth and holding him in place. The surviving Gliscor looks very worried.

Heart throws a Pokeball excitedly! When it reaches Kabutops, though, it flashes red without sucking him in, and lands in the snow without having attempted a capture. That can mean only one thing: Kabutops is already registered. (This does not normally expend the Pokeball).

Beartic overstressed himself earlier. He's breathing heavily, breath frosty on the vertical battlefield, but he's too tired to do more than swipe wearily at passing foes.

Slash 3
(6)(5)(1)(5)(4) Critical hit, thanks to tailwind. The dragon is still unscathed. Shiva feels the wind of this powerful attack almost cost her her balance. Ventus steadies her.
(2)(6)(6)(3)(3)(4)(6) Gliscor takes 4 dmg 1/9hp -3 pain.

So that leaves Beartic with 1HP and Gliscor with 1HP. Gible, Kabutops, and another Gliscor have already fainted.

The only usable Pokemon who declared 4 actions is Nightshade! She sails easily on the breeze, and calmly fires a Magical Leaf point blank into Beartic's face.

Magical Leaf 4
(2)(3) Her aim is terrible in this magical wind that closely envelopes you, but her power re-routes the leaf and it circles around and clips Beartic in the back of the head. Just need to roll one damage against a Pokemon with only 1 vit.
(6)(2)(4)(2)(1) Beartic faints.

The sandstorm rages. Gustav takes 1 dmg 3/6hp -2 pain
Lucifer takes 1 dmg and faints.
Kirlia takes 1 dmg4/7hp frozen
Raphael takes 1 dmg, his first in this battle.
Nightshade takes 1 dmg 4/6hp -1 pain.
Koa takes 1 dmg, his first.

Earth Guardians Round 2

All that needs to happen is dealing 1 damage to a Gliscor!

Heart was surprised for the Pokeball not even hit the Kabutops. That means one thing...."There is a trainer around here. That Kabutops belongs to someone. Watch out people! Gustav! Finish off that Gliscor! Water Pulse in his face! Koa if the attack fails use Slash! But hold your lethal damage!"

NO WAY ANOTHER POKEMON OF HER HAS TO SUFFER!  Shiva holds Cottonee still very close to herself, almost feeling that humming of dear Primal Altaria within her dearest Pokemon's luckily still beating heart, shielding herself and Nightshade from anything while simpy GLARING ICY-COLD at that Gliscor. Seems like it worked and intimidated that Gliscor, as neither Shiva nor her Pokemon took much damage. Seeing how Nightshade, despite the trembling her Master clearly felt, was eager to continue the battle on her own instead of staying with Shiva - did the...cherrylike Pokemon decided to avenge her fluffy companion? How sweet...

Shiva mostly just watched the battle going on, making sure that none dares to come too close to her again. None. When Koa jumped directly into her arms, Shiva almost slumped over from its weight and felt very tempted to hit him with a Fairy Wind, but that's not gonna happen for several reasons.

Something she realized though was that her Pokemon's Magical Leaves deat GREAT damage to Kabutops. Slight more than it'd do even with a double-weakness... Was it the magic in the leaves? Power of nature? She didn't knew, but she noted that mentally. Same that the ancient Pokemon could not be caught. Orthros fainting was noted as well, but Shiva did not feel for the dog.

What she DID feel for was Nightshade's bravery and not-afraid over the huge Unovian polar bear, while his roaring caused Shiva to impercibly wince, Nightshade didn't care and eventually fired off more leaves on it. Seeing how the bear eventually went down with an earth-shaking *FLOOOF!* was...an amazing sight. Holding her Pokemon close, Shiva drew a Great Ball from pocket of the cloak to hurl it at it once being paralyzed, curious whether the bear could be caught or not.

As for Nightshade... She only needed an encouraging look from her Master to understand her orders. One mighty and last Magical Leaf!

Accuracy Roll Magical Leaf: 5* Dext + 2 Survival + 2 Nature - 1 Pain = 8d6
Damage Roll: 3 Strenght + 2 power of the move + 1 STAB = 6d6, neutral damage on a Gliscor
Additional notes: This move hits even if the Accuracy Roll fails.

As for Cottonee... In an almost ceremonial movement, Shiva drew that one Revive she found way back then, stared at it for a moment... then used it on her dearest fluffball with utter determination, right there in her arms.
(Revives are crystals. [Image: Dream_Revive_Sprite.png] I'm not quite sure how such a thing brings a Pokemon back to consciousness, but it does.)
