Reiner doesn't say a word at first, just holds her close.  He figured she wasn't going to like what she saw.  After a few minutes, he speaks.

"...well, seems I'm getting mixed up in your personal issues now as well, based on what I experienced...yeah, I'm in over my head, through no choice of my own...and let me tell you..."

"...I bloody well HATE that."

A moment passes again...

Reiner holds Mew closer again., trying his best to calm down..

"...what did he do, Mew?  I know he did something as soon as the topic came up.  He always seems to..."

Mew stiffens slightly at just what you were hinting at, as well as the rueful tone that followed the voiced sentiment, causing the Mythic to pull her head from your chest and stare at you with a harrowed, tear stained expression.

'......I'm sorry about that, Reiner. I truly, deeply am. Nobody, least of all you deserves to shoulder my burden......We were supposed to enjoy each other's company for as long we remained together, Partner. That....that was the plan.......I'm so sorry that things changed...................................................................................What exactly did you see of my life?'

Bringing up Those That Should Not Be Mentioned caused the psychic feline to practically freeze , as the Pain/fear she experienced at his hand was still fresh and potent in her mind, and quickly buried herself back into your chest to continue sobbing. Words couldn't adequately describe her......meeting with her brother in law, and show decided to share the entire memory of said conversation to you, no matter how much it pained her to do so. You....you deserved to know what is going on between her and them , at least a little bit.......

Your partner had grown silent when you brought up her dearly departed lover, stilling ever so slightly in your embrace.....until she let out a breathless giggle, and mumbled something that would have been lost if your focus was not squarely on her.

'Hmmm................one of the many good times I shared with him, I see. So exacting and meticulous with his every word and action, and whole heartidly dedicated to his roles and responsibility......and yet he was capable of hamming it with stunning eloquence and wit, and found reason to be joyful and free spirited in all things. Such a contradicting man.......but its one of the many reasons I loved him.........

'His brother and I.......we did not always hold each other in contempt. Zuryk was reserved in his judgement of me, and somewhat puzzled that I managed to capture my.......old love's heart, but he did not despise me like he does now. Why things changed between us.........it was partially my fault, but I only acted as I did because of what Arkus did. I....I regret not making up with him, for hurting him so......badly, but I stand my decisions that lead to....tragedy. Unmitigated tragedy. For him....me.....Zuryk........everybody.......'

'..........I don't want talk about it, though. Too.....too much is going on right now with....with the both of us for such revelations..........and I don't want to relieve those events again. Not....after Zuryk reminded me of them, in the most painful of ways possible. I.....I also don't want you to think less of me because of.....of.... '

The distraught Mew lets out a shuddering sigh of relief as you agree to delay that.....conversation to another time, and continues to snuggle the Charles dickens out of you and weap. She....she had to vent all this......nasty bad stuff they made her suffer through, and she extremely greatful your their to help comfort her in their time of need. It was over the course of 15 minutes that Mew managed to empty herself of tears and felt.....well, not fine , but......calmer, or at least ready to ask some questions without threatening to burst into water works again....

I know its extremely unfair that you have to deal with the bullshit from my life that NO ONE should be tangled up in, but.....I guess that is how things turned out, for better or worse. I promise I'll try to make this up to some day, partner, I swear. All work and no play even tuckers us powerhouses out, right?'

Sorta andom question, I know....but the last time I checked we never really talked about what we were going to do after you fully committed to going traitor, or really how we are going to handle your group in the first place. There's also Petrel and Proton to consider, as while your relationship with the later is colorfully vitriolic, I know both are your friends that think highly of you. Heck, Petrel practically put you on a pedistool for how awesome you are and for what you managed to accomplish in your short career as a career criminal! ......How's that going to affect your plans, if any?'

'Next, Kyubi. I don't think I need to elaborate what is the pressing issue is with her currently, so I'll only ask this: what are you going to do if she is.....well, you know.'

'......Mina's also a somewhat worrisome problem we have to handle delicately, given how wrapped up they have become in our and Emily's life, and how she'll react to the news that her former friend and benefactor got his bucket kicked in by you. If she's not too please despite Archie's letter and threatens to call the feds on you.......well, that going to be a ungainly problem to manage, uggggh.....'

'The final question I have for now........*Sighs* First, let me ask this: do you have any idea who Giritina is, besides what little I've said about them thus far? Their Legend, background, personality, appearance.........interests? Anything like that? Mew lets out a tired sigh at the lack of solid planning on your part, but none of the less nods their head in agreement to what little is said. 'Good ideas so far, but I suggest you get started brainstorming reeeaaal soon, Reiner, because that deadline for you assignments and meeting with Valarie are creeping up on you. If your plans are as threadbare then as they are now, I imagine both our life will quickly becoming overcomplicated as either Valarie or Giovanni begin to dogpile us with responsibility of death threats.....'

'....Kinda hard not too, as you practically broadcasted that fact to anymore with a high degree of Psychic awareness or talent. *Shrugs* Never really taught you how on THAT particular technique to control the spread of surprised thoughts and emotions, and I think only Mr. Mime and myself heard since Kyubi didn't cause a scene upon your 'announcement' , so all is good on that front. '*Sighs* You and me both, Reiner. If Mina decides to freakout and/or Archie doesn't have equal skill in writing up apologies as signing checks with his mouth that he can't cash, then.....*Sigh*.....we'll be forced to 'impress' upon her the need for silence, or keep her under house arrest here in the A.V. until she see reason or enough time has passed for Stockholm Syndrome to kick in. Or I have to start mucking about with her memory and emotions she holds concerning this event, and if its all the same to you I rather not risk accidently her mind in the weakened state I'm in right now, or override her freewill in such a way unless its ABSOLUTELY necessary. We already have one thrall in the form of Angelica, and while she's rather sweet and well adjusted all things considered, I don't think you want another 'friend' along those line......'

The divine feline facepalmed at the distinct lack of awareness/inability to connect her question to the comment of.....them and their......encounter with her own line of question, but she was also slightly relieved as well since that meant Reiner didn't have the time to worry himself silly about this revelation. Of course, with him proclaiming his ignorance of the Queen of the Underworld, Mew had no doubt that would spur the not so little snoop to greater action at some point down the line.....

'......So only barebone basic facts on her, got it. *Sighs* Time for a crash course in all thing Renegade, I suppose. Giritina was once a part of the Creation Trio , and still is techinically, governing over Anti Matter and the natural distortions that occur in the Space-Time Continuim created by her brothers Palkia and Dialga, She was and is considered one of the strongest Legendaries that currently exist, and that earning her attention in almost anyway was synonomous to asking for trouble of  SOME unfortunate kind, even if she didn't mean too, per say. One of the prime examples of this happening would be her head priestess.....I'll just send you the cliff notes version ('That means its time to start digging through the meta thread for that lore blurb Windos wrote a loooong time ago , Dragonstrike!) .


'.....Yeah, that was when she was TRYING to be benevolent prior to going koko bonkers due to some utter BASTARD using the T.P.K. to warp her mind and personality to even stranger and terrifying new levels. I only got the chance to meet Giritina once before she.....changed, and she was .....hard to really comprehend, but she did make the effort to TRY and be friendly in their own way, *shudders* . Didn't seem to care being coerced to having the meeting by Arceas, and expressed their......annoyance? at not being given more leeway and responsibility, but still accepted it because she was her mother? Sorry if I sound so uncertain, but the Creation Trio and Arceas in the past had the tendacy towards  - well, to us - abstract thinking , bizzare feelings, and .....'unique' perspectives, to say the least. They've gotten much better over the eons, but they are still......hard to understand at times.'

'Anyway, point is, even at her most 'sane' , Giritina didn't have that firm of an attachment to OUR reality and held some form of frustration towards her mother . The T.P.K. .......it just made things exponentially worse . Her mind was torn apart and blended together with some.....additions being contributed by that wretch Cursed Arm, her negative feelings were greatly amplified to outright loathing and hatred towards them, and picked up a violent streak a cosmos wide ('For a simplier way to look at it Dragonstrike, think of Giritina's transformation as going from Luna to Nightmare Moon, only......worse') . The end result was a raging, rebellious god that sought to usurp the Origin of the Universe and impose her own newfound will and 'ideas' how to run reality RIGHT, which would have had.....predicatable results. It took the combined efforts of Arceas, Palkia, Dialga and Rayquaza to successfully subdue her, which would have had disasterous consequence on earth had Giritina didn't SOMEHOW had the good mind to wage her world in between the dimensions.'

'The rest is history or as legend describes, whichever describes. She was trapped in the Distorted World and went wild and stewed in her own insanity and resentment for who knows how long.......before Zuryk came along to 'fix' things on a whim. He gave them the power to see into our world and travel to and from it, access and dominion over what was the void where souls went after death and awaited re-incarnation ,and acted as someone she could vent and communicate with after how many ages being left alone and abandon in her new 'home'.  Every Legend and Mythic thought he was planning on re-igniting an age old conflict and get 'revenge' for.....their death that way, but that....that was not the case at all.... When Arceas and the others confronted him about this, he just outright laughed and called them a fool. He told us that he actually WANTED to help her, as he they were sympathetic to their plight and found the way Arceas handle it utterly wasteful, petty, and needlessly cruel. They desired to 'correct' such a grevious failure, offering good council and support, a connection to our world to keep tabs on in and for her entertainment, and conferring the power and responsibility she had desparately needed by basically giving up his dominion over the dead, all to 'repair' the trauma she suffered and help solidfy the new 'them' out of the chaos that was their mind prior to his intervention. '

'  ....To quote them: 'I wished to be her friend, and to treat her as my equal and peer, Arceas. Things you have always refused to be, before and after her fall from your grace. That is my main desire in helping them. If in the process I gain an earnest ally to count on and completely destroy any designs of 'redemption' or similar ways to reconnect with them, well all the better I say! The best part about this? Its working, and their is nothing you can do about it at this point, Petty One. The opportunity for such things have looooong since past, heheheheHAHAHAHA!'  '

' Arceas and everyone else was.....not pleased by him rubbing this in and gloating about it, but it was as he said: nothing could be done about it. He already has become Giritina's friend and fully given her powers they couldn't take away, and most bar Arceas saw he had a point in his actions. If the Origin had decided to forshake her daughter entirely and leave her to madness and despair, then Zuryk intervention to reverse this and make her a 'more sane and better' individual was not some sacrireligous act. Even if he did undermine every other Legend and Mythic and permenantly estranged Giritina from her mother in the process, of course....'

'......*Sighs* Fastforward a few eons, and Giritina had regained a 'saner' outlook, personality, and perspective that puts her rational and morality more along the lines of mortals than her closet kin, and had not only regained her complete command over Anti Matter and Distortions, but also gained and master other titles, such as the Ruler of the Distorted World, Queen of the Afterlife or 'Underworld' as she termed it, The Maiden of Reflections and Mirrors, The Unrepentant Fallen One , The Morningstar , The Goddess of the Rebellious and Renegades , etc...   She's....she's come a long way from what she once was, but she's still unpredicatible, has rightfully questionable sanity, and the worst temper EVER, so nothing in their right mind besides.....them and his ilk regularly interact with her. Her followers are few and scattered, but they are just like their goddess in many aspects, if you get what I'm saying.... '

' *Long Sighs* Now that I've given you plenty of information and context surrounding her I can finally answer your question without you ending up needlessly confused or clueless. ......Reiner, the being you saw in the mirror was none other than Giritina , and if THEY can be trusted, have taken a SIGNIFICANT AND LARGE ROMANTIC INTEREST IN YOU. I don't have any solid reason why this happened, but if I had to guess, she ended up slowly becoming interested and then infatuated with you due to: your high affinity with Dragons, personally overcoming both a me AND an Ultra Beast , the rough charm you seem to possess, and the fact that you, like her, are extremely strong, resolute, and rebellious in nature and seek/sought recompense and respect from that wronged or are using you. Oh, and that you have questionable sanity like her as well. That too.'

' She's surprisingly shy and reserved about interacting with relative unknowns, however, and that is probably amplified when it to her first crush in.....well, who knows when, so you don't have to worry about being directly confronted by her or spirited away in the night for awhile.....I think. ....I hope so, anyway. Eventually, though, she'll either muster up the courage or impatience necessary to 'act' on her crush in who know WHAT way, so.....yeah. Best start preparing for that, Reiner........

Reiner shakes his head in an attempt to clear it.

"...I'll be fine.  Just...don't really know how to react to that news...usually I try and ignore stuff like that because of..."

He sits in one of those plush, comfy chairs, not wanting to finish that thought.
