[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

"Don't...just 'assault' that Golem, please. Leave it alone unless there's a real reason to see it as an enemy." She faces Dagny when saying this, almost pleading that her words are reaching her.

No issues with watching over the Ruins though. Plus, anymosity - a little spotlight would do Shiva well, but she's done with Vines - and a Magnemite Egg sound very generous, she silently delightful accepts both!~ Oh, and that Nugget. Free cash.

"As a Gym Leader, it is my personal duty to protect the humans in my charge. I do that by spreading useful technologies, defending them from forces that try to take their rights, and using my power to increase value for all. Naturally, my power comes from my Pokemon allies, so there is much I owe them. I made no promises to this mysterious eremite, so I feel my hands are not tied in this matter, but I will allow you five to do as you please."

"That said, my constituency would not have prospered without your intervention. So, what would you like to do from here? Shall I clarify that it was not I who saved the city, or would you prefer your anonymity be preserved, leaving you free to act without bother? Either way, I should like to give you something in light of your service. I possess some Beldum or Magnemite eggs and new hatches which you may have. I will give you first priority for gym battles, and I will give you one golden Nugget apiece. These are from my personal stores and do not represent the official position of the Stair City Gym or League."

"What are our next steps in assaulting the Skull Ruins? Should we leave it alone, watched, until a new threat arises? Shall we delve inside, identify this Golem character (which I must research), and assault it directly?"

Nathan snaps out of his thought process when Dagny speaks up, and is quick to respond.

"...I'd prefer some anonymity.  The battle is won, but the war is far from over.  To win the war, we need Mesprit's aid.  That's going to be hard to obtain if Kirlia and I are pestered at every turn...besides...all I really did was figure out where we needed to go.  Not much else, really..."

"...keep defending the city, Dagny.  We can't fully commit to delving into the depths of the ruins until we have the firepower and/or knowledge needed to fight whatever The Last King had planned..."

"...I'm not usually much for Steel types, but...a Beldum does sound nice.  And you can expect to see a gym challenge from me soon.  Gotta do a little prep work before I challenge ya, but it shouldn't take me too long to prepare.  The nugget will help a ton, too."

"OH I woould like the same like Nathan here. A Beldum is quite a rare Pokemon so I accept the offer. And that Nugget would help a lot thank you. Also I like to take a look in that Deltamon you tell. Just a little bit to take some notes about that. I quite a fan of Delta Pokemon. Perhaps I gonna try challenge the gym."

"Delta Porygon is usually my ace in the hole, but since you asked nicely..."

She touches a Pokeball under her cloak, and the steely gray Porygon comes out.

"Mine is still a Porygon. For the Delta type, there are certain advantages that flee when evolved to Porygon2. You'll have to wait for a gym battle to see those."

Porygon cruises slowly around the room, bumping into things as if he can't quite see them or be bothered to care about them.


If you grab a Beldum or a Magnemite, make sure to specify whether it's an Egg or a newborn (newborns have just their 0XP moves).

Nathan chuckles as the Delta Porygon explores the room.

Though there is ONE potential issue...

...Nathan has Porygon-Z on hand, and it might find this cousin of its just fascinating enough to warrant its attention...

Ventus gave the Steel Wonder a bright smile and a grateful nod of his head as she declared her stance on the matter, clearly in agreement with her philosophy. 'Defend and serve thy own needs and providence first, least you be found wanting and without later on,' was a thought that rang out with in accordance with their words, as well as the simple joy of that Dagney shared/had a similar mind on this matter as he did. Her next statement caused him to appear thoughtful for a moment, before he a decided to voice his own concerns.

"My preference is animinoty for several reasons, chief among them is the ability to conduct my research without much intrusion and attracting attention I'd rather not deal with presently. If my companions wish for recognition of them saving the city, may I request I be left out or omitted from any form of public reveal? I personally don't mind being out of the spotlight, as both your and my friends thanks is more than enough to sastify any desire for acknowledge for my own part in that quest. However, I am not one to refuse any form of compensation you deem necessary, so from the bottom of my heart I thank you for your generousity *Dazzling Smile as he says this*! I'll be more than happy to see what Magnemite Eggs you possess after we conclude this meeting."

"As for the how to proceed at this stage, I believe the Ruins should be left well alone by everyone until either Nathan successfully gains the aid of Merspirit, or we come upon another Legendary, power, or resource that would make facing off against the Golem. Rushing at this stage might trigger another disaster, or result in heavy loses if we do not have sufficient firepower to overcome the myriad threats lurking in that dead tomb...."

Porygon Z does come out. Several spikes spring out of Delta Porygon's hide and he swivels instantly to face the newcomer. Shimmering electromagnetic fields suddenly appear around all the computers in the room, of which there are many.

Rotom follows, but as it is ensconced in its fridge, it just clunks to the ground. Dagny's eyes shoot daggers at it, and it freezes (get it?).

Porygon Z slowly retreats until it is up against Rotom. The door of the freezer springs open and Porygon Z keeps backing up until its body is completely within Rotoms. The door closes.

"Oh! Right, me too actually! Ven, work at the Shelter awaits us!" She was feeling better by now, well enough to entangle both of her arms around one of Ven's while she said that. In fact, now she was very shyly looking forward to that, especially to get to see her soon-new gothlike Psychic Type.

(I already stated that it'd be a Magnemite Egg please, preferably with Sturdy Ability if Dagny knows how to breed for particular ability.)

Ventus' eyebrows and the hairs on the back of his neck shot up at the sudden manifestation of said electromagnetic fields, and gave a curious hum of appreciation as he took in the spectacle. "Using EM Fields to shield your electronics from Porygon Z corrupting influence? A rather interesting and clever defensive measure, Dagney. Are these fields generated by your Delta Porygon, or is some form of hardware is installed in each system that create them as needed?" the researcher said, not paying to much to the glitch duo was receiving, since the Gym Leader was doing a good enough job reprimanding them as is!

"Yes, I have Eggs which are supposed to have particular Abilities."

"My defenses are my own, sorry. Suffice it to say it's a combination of several things. Enough weird electric and steel type Pokemon come in here, and the data is sufficiently important, that I am forced to have defenses."
