[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Shiva has a pretty satisfied expression on her face now, still figuratively purring. "Thank you!~ See you then, take good care of you until then. Oh, and sorry that I've kept you from doing your business on the PC here." It's free for him to use now.

With that words, she waved him goodbye for now, before leaping off in direction Ventus (wherever he currently is). As soon as she is within his reach, she gently nudges the oddball of researcher on the shoulder. "Sorry that it took a little longer for me, Ven... But if you are free and ready then, we can go the Department Store then!~ Oh, and... uhm... I've already got keys for a room for us in GPC. I've been enjoying sharing one with you, I hope you don't miiiiind. >_<; Will you work at the Shelter today?"

I actually have a setup whereby I can turn the entire Gym into a magnetic field, but I have to warn my neighbors, and it uses a lot of power, so that is not trivially done. Mt. Molten has the strongest one, due to a spinning conglomeration of liquid metal at its base. To the East and West of Trillium Town are long veins of metal ore, which luckily route much of the magnetic field away from sensitive electronics in the town."

(...)

"My defenses worked fine, luckily. I SUGGEST, you work more with those volatile Pokemon until they are as obedient as machines."

"Oh, I didn't know your Gym had such capabilities, but that is another feature that proves your ingeniuity and resourcefulness Dagney! Hmm.....I believe I'll pay Mt Molten a visit in the future in that case, as eventually my companions and I will have to pass through Trillum again, and I'm interested so see what effects this location will have on a Magnemite's Evolution! (...) Until we meet again, be well my friend!" Ventus replied, giving a friendly wave farewell before going to collect his various rewards for a job well done! When he picked out his Egg, he gave it to Shiva with a short but kind/eager plea : "Could you please Look after my Egg for awhile, like you have with my other one? Oh, and I would like to have my other one back to finish up the incubation process myself, in order to facilitate the bond between us! (Michael will be sent back to the PC to make place for the Egg!) " The researcher also listened to Nathan apologizing/getting reemed for his maverick Pokémon's behavior, but choose not to react to that exchange besides taking a sliiiight amount of schadenfreudtastic joy from it (Ven's still EXTREMELY sore about all the antics and choices they've made up until now, despite still sympathizing with them somewhat, so....).

As long as he doesn't put any weird plants that he doesn't know into this dinner, she'll join, but she'll be kinda hesitant as all the pain and neausea was something she rather not desires to go through again. Nevertheless she replies to him in a friendly tone. "See you tonight then, Heart. Be careful with the ingredients, please. I have some business to follow in the city, but I'll be at the Center anyway around dinner time."

With that said, she carefully turns to Ventus. "Uhm... Ven, you said you wanted to go to the Department Store, right? Can I, well, join? Maybe just along the way as finding a good person trade Pokemon with might take a little alongside with restocking on goods."

Before they'll head there though (if Ven is fine with that, that is), she'll swap her party at the PC in the Lobby Dagny mentioned. This is where Nathan can catch her up.

When Heart brings up exploring his culinary talents again, Ventus is quick to erriely mirror his dearest friend expression with arms crossed in front of his chest, before letting out a sigh, nodding his head and saying: "That will be fine, but please stick to a recipe and NOT experiment with ingredients unless you know for something what you are adding will not make us all heave. I do not want a repeat of your 'Nausating Stew' , understand? I wish to explore the Department Store for potential purchases, and then check up on the Shelter and resume my arrangement with them, so I will meet you later tonight as well. May your endevors to evolve Tynamo prove fruitful Heart!"

In response to Shiva's deliberate and somewhat shy request, the empath reaches over to ruffle their hair with a bemused smile on their face. "You know you are always welcome by my side unless I say otherwise, dear, so you need not have asked! I'll mostly searching for useful Held Items and Pokeballs, along with what TMs they have available and perhap's what is on Almanac's floor of the store, so we may have to part ways at some point. Hopefully that is alright with you.....?"

After Shiva conducted her exchange and subsequently got caught up in a conversation with Nathan (Which he again choose to listen to but not comment on....for now) , Ventus placed Michael in his PC and accept his Egg back from Shiva, which was still covered in the down Primal Alteria gifted him! Not only would it serve as excellent incubation material, but getting its DNA analyzed would provide a most fascinating Insight on the nature of Ancient Non-Fossil Pokémon! How exciting!

Soon enough, though, Shiva finished hashing out the details of her upcoming match with the boy, and turned to him and announced her readiness to start their respective shopping sprees, as well as them sharing a room again! "Ready when you are, so lets make haste to the store, shall we! Oh, I was going to ask if you desired to resume sharing a room together, but I see you have beaten me to the Mega Punch! Excellent foresight, my dear! (...) Yes, I plan on resuming work at the Shelter today after I check up on them. No doubt they need the assistance calming down the Pokémon and returning the place to some form of normalacy after the problems they had with the Vines!"

When Shiva leaves is when Kirlia forces his way out of his pokeball.  Yeesh...no need to intimidate Nathan like that when he was already nervous enough as it was!

"...I'll be fine, Kirlia.  Just...just give me a moment."

Kirlia shakes his head, looks at him in such a way that he almost says, 'are you really purposely setting yourself up for failure?'

Nathan shrugs.  "...things have changed, Kirlia.  Whether we like it or not..."

Well, time to check on that Beldum...yup, seems to be doing just fine.  Doesn't seem to mind being in the PC at all.  Phew.  Nathan takes the time to properly introduce Forthright to the PC system as well.  She's still comfortable in Nathan's arms though, so she definitely doesn't want to be separated from him right now!

Well, what's he going to do next...?  Oh yeah, right.  He has to talk to his mom...and probably also find Valder so they can return Sarah and George...well, Valder was still probably hanging around here somewhere, so he shouldn't be too difficult to find in theory...

...and once he does and gets the horses off of the mercenary, he's going to give his mom a call, let her know everything's okay.

It seems like just as Shiva likely won't get bored by his winning smiles, Ven is not getting bored about messing up her strands of hair more than they already are. How neat to see. She shakes her head a little once he's done with teasing which turns out as contraproductive, so it's followed by her bringing a bit of order back manually.

"I know, but  still wanted to ask... Splitting up at some point is fine to me, especially if you I desire to hang around at the Trading Post and you desire to head to the Shelter then! Held Items and Pokeballs interest me to bits, possibly Almanac's goods as well, so these are the floors we can visit together then."

"Oh, and you've been...I mean, you too wanted to aproach me with the question whether we shall continue sharing room and bed? How sweet from you." She gently hugs one of his arms and likely will keep a hold of it along the way to Dept.Store. "Oh... Well, then please tell them that I'll start work there tomorrow as I'm occupied today and desire to reenergize to start work in a good state. Greet Gothitelle from me if you see her, maybe. It's noble from you to immediately help them. Thinking about it, with that money we get from selling that gifted Nugget it'll be likely possible to pay the adoption fine right away... Oh, but since we already agreed a deal to work with the Director, it'd be rude to break it now, wouldn't it, dear? I've been thinking about using a little less than half of the received money to pay the fine and continue work at the Shelter on a volunteer basis once I've paid off the whole fine for the whole agreed week. ...Collecting some more experience with Pokemon Care, you know... And getting Gothitelle used to me to eventually overstep her self-drawn line on a free will. I know she has agreed to come with me and give me a chance to be that 'special Trainer', but...well."

No real doubts from her side, simply a bit of insecurity whether this will work out. Shiva will wait and see, eventually.

Ready to be introduced to the Dept.Store then, seeing how it survived the attack of the Vines. Oh, and Ventus working at the Shelter will likely prevent him from watching the upcoming Training Session from Shiva to pick up Tutoring as it'll happen at the park of GPC after she left the Store, unless you magically meet with her during lunch break or so... I'm sorry for this, Windos!

Yes, the Newborns have a standard Ability of your choice, 0XP, and 2/2 for their Happiness/Loyalty. It does seem like it will be fine in the PC.

I like the art of Marill! +1 XP.

He sends Aron the PC and put the Beldum egg. Then he heads towards the reception and asks: "Excuse me, but Dagny tell me to talk with you. My name Heart and Dagny tell I could go to the generator in this gym to take my Tynamo there and help him evolve and recomendate me to ask you a guide to there."

She brings you down into the depths of the gym and flings open a door. Then she hands you pink fluffy earmuffs to mask the loud whirring noises that emanate from within the room.

"Our generators are enormous spinning magnets!" she shouts, showing you.  A door with a fancy lock guards the generators. There's a big coil of wire running all around the room, behind glass. In the center is a big lumpy magnet on a mount, which allows it to spin at massive speed.

"What your Tynamo needs to understand is the relationship between electricity and magnetism! They are related forces, or possibly even the same force! That's why so many relationships exist between the Steel type and the Electric type! Steel is not very effective on Electric. The Magnemite line and Togekekaru or whatever are Electric/Steel, with Magnemite being the first Steel type ever researched. An electric current running through a steel object creates a magnet! And, little Tynamo, the reverse is also true! A magnet moving inside a wire induces an electric current! So if you have one, you can create the other."

Your guide brings out some props to explain things in terms a Pokemon can understand. She releases a Nosepass holding a length of coiled wire, which it tosses to the floor. Then it starts lumbering around the wire, clanging with every step.

"Tell your Tynamo it can investigate Nosepass or the wire at any point!" she hollers above the din. "When Nosepass is on the move, the wire will have a charge! When he stops, the charge dissipates!"

She releases a Pikachu and a Forretress. Pikachu is holding an Iron Ball, which it plops on the floor.

Pikachu and Forretress run the wire between them. "Forretress, Rapid Spin!" Forretress wraps the wire around itself. "Pikachu, Thunder Shock!" Pikachu complies. Suddenly, the Iron Ball rolls right up to Forretress and sticks tight!

"Electricity! Magnets! Two sides of the same coin! Any questions?"

"Hi Nathan! I heard everything calmed down in Stair City. Thank Goodness! I've been in contact with Dagny. I heard about Forthright. That's too bad, but I wanted you to know that all our Rapidash who join Stable Z are volunteers. They train for this, knowing what could happen. How are you????"

The Department Store took a lot of superficial damage, but zero structural damage. The video screens are not yet working again, so they've plastered it in temporary posters to advertise all the construction equipment and emergency supply kits ("Don't Get Caught Unprepared Again! $500 Buys Peace Of Mind").

The Pokeball Floor is selling Net Balls, Dive Balls, Dusk Balls, Quick Balls, Luxury Balls, and Timer Balls in addition to normal Balls. Each is $1000. They also have Safari/Sport Balls, which work just like Pokeballs but are an unusual camoflauge decoration. Flash Balls have also been stocked! $225 for both of these. "Buy any combination of 10 Pokeballs at the Stair City Dept Store, get a Premier Ball free! Punchcards available here!"

Almanac is selling a new kind of Ball with a cool futuristic design called a Beast Ball. Ultra Beasts aren't a known thing here, so don't worry about that. What the Beast Balls do, for $600, is work especially well on Delta Pokemon and Pokemon that have been artificially modified by man in some way. This includes any Pokemon who has been improved with an Almanac item, such as their patented evolution stones or their synthetic herbs.
A Pokemon contained in a Beast Ball is eligible for free checkups and healing at any Almanac station. A map shows where some are in Stair City, Botanville, Cress City, and League HQ. Looks like new ones just popped up since you've been away.

Almanac is selling some Synthetic Herbs, which are like Vitamins, for $5000. They also have certain variants on Evolution Stones.

The TM floor is built like a library, with shelves of TMs in numerical or alphabetical order. The shelves can reshuffle themselves by sort order, and they have a few copies of each TM. TMs are $3000 unless otherwise indicated. Looks like a lot of the TMs have been priced based on their effectiveness on the Steel Type. The attendant also explains that even Stair City cannot reproduce TMs very reliably.

Check with me for compatibility before buying. If a Pokemon has the TM in its movelist, even as a ?, it will work 99% of the time.
Just because the TM is learnable in the handheld games does not mean it's learnable in Pokerole.
Moves that can be learned by every Pokemon in the handheld games (ignoring Magikarp etc), can be learned by every Pokemon in Pokerole.
Moves that can be learned by great swathes of Pokemon, including Normal types and common Pokemon, I will usually approve for any suitable Pokemon. (Check out Rain Dance's list for an example of a TM that can be learned by any Water Type or storm-themed Pokemon).

1. Hone Claws
2. Calm Mind
3. Roar $2000
4. Toxic $3500
5. Hail
6. Bulk Up
7. Venoshock $2500
8. Sunny Day
9. Protect $2000
10. Smack Down
11. Return $1000
12. Double Team $2000
13. Sandstorm $2800
14. Low Sweep $3500
15. False Swipe $1000
16. Will-O-Wisp $3200
17. Thunder Wave

Tynamo was out of the Pokeball watching everything and seeing the demonstrations. "So you are saying the move means energy? I can understand a bit about the relation, and can understand how some pokemon can use that kind of power to create the ability we call Levitate using the conection between eletricity and magnetist. Tynamo can use a little part of this power of magnetist since he have the ability Levitate the day he born. So we can consider he know how to "control energy". But to he learn how to "produce energy" is learning to create energy from the movement or something like that?" Heart is not exactly a genius in that departament.
