[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

The stonemason smiles confidently. He opens a Pokeball, summoning Larvitar! The crowd is impressed, thinking of how rare such a beast is! A Pancham is still rarer, though, and much cuter.

Larvitar: (4) +2 dex + 4 survival = 10, Pancham is still first

Will points ignore the full round of pain, so that's a good choice.

Ohhh, a Larvitar was her nex foe, huh? Well, that was interesting as Shiva felt uneasy about that evolution line - Tyranitars are scary! - but at the same time felt like type advantage was on her side. This was no wild encounter either, but a controlled and friendly competition. She hoped that Addams has his Larvitar under control.

As for Pancham - it only needed a small hand gesture from him Master to understand what she wanted him to do. Punch that rocky underground dweller before it can react!

----------------------
Accuracy Roll single Drain Punch!: 2 Dext (usually 3 without Bulldoze) + 2 Fight + 1 Brawl - 2 Pain = 3d6
Damage Roll: Still 3 Strenght + 3 power of the move +1 STAB + 1 thanks to Iron Fist = 8d6, still +1 autodamage due to SE on a Larvitar.
Additional notes: Restores HP half the damage dealt, minimum 1hp. Hmm, I could have switched out to cancel that -1 Dexterity but seems like that's not happening right now.

Shiva felt pleased that he called her idea of taking '!' Unown with them shall they vent down deeper into the Ruins one day or the other, and gave him a faint yet thankful smile before she went silent again for a little. Ventus named the golem down there a threat... But was it really a 'threat'? Somewhat she still struggled hard to believe that this mysterious golem was malicious. It must be a Pokemon, it most likely was, and barely a Pokemon grows malovent without a reason. It must have been disturbed, pretty surely by the Almanac and their research, intentionally or not they removed the seal causing the energy to run wild...  Ringed like a consipracy theory to her, she lightly frowned at these thoughts before bringing her attention to Ventus and his soon Kingdra. His stuttered reply to her request to see and introduce herself to that lordly seahorse as soon as he adopted it caused her to silently chuckle once again, amused over how she playfully unbalanced him. „Thanks, dear! I'll keep my respectful distance and won't dare to touch graceful Kingdra, promised. I just never saw one in real until we met it at the Shelter, so curiosity strikes...“ It was rather clear that Shiva was not 'afraid' of that Kingdra.

Speaking of seahorses, back to that small bittersweet Skrelp sitting on her gloved hand still. Carefully, Shiva handed another small piece of vanilla cookie to her to much on. Hmm, how to nickname her... 'Nymue' had a nice ring, the Lady of the Lake who granted Excalibur to King Arthur.

Oh, she wasn't yet registered to a Pokeball either – better do that right now!~ However, while Shiva was just about to draw a free Safari Ball ('That camouflage pattern fits nicely to the evolution line...'), she froze midmovement as she remembered something.

Professor Mallorn once has asked for a Skrelp, has he?
Yes, he has. Among with a Keldeo. A Keldeon!!!
What now, my dear?
I...have no idea.

Immediately, she felt her heart becoming heavy, and her former joyful mood received a nice crack before a feeling of undisclosion and helplessness arouse within her and on her expression as she continued mustering small Skrelp. A few moments later, she turned towards Ventus once again.

„Eh... Ven, listen... Hasn't Professor Mallorn brought a desire for a Skrelp towards us a while ago? He has, did he? Now I have one... I hatched it, I've been carrying the egg for the whole time. Also, look at that, this tiny Skrelp seems to like me, it must seeing me as her mother...“ At these words, Shiva carefully stroke her poisonous seahorse a little on the forehead (with gloves of course), earning another adorable look. „See? I know it's practically the most poisonous Pokemon known, but it doesn't seem to pose any threat towards me... I know there's potential for it to become a dragon one day... This toxic, young, tiny, draconic Skrelp likes me... I don't know whether I can bring it over myself to simply hand it to Mallorn. What did he wanted one for again, do you remember...?“

----------------
Mechanics:

Shiva's officially in a quandary now. Ventus, you wanted to contact Professor Mallorn concerning that special Wurmple from the Shelter anyway, did you?

Stonemason Addams Round 6

Drain Punch
(2)(1)(4)
(1)(3)(3)(6) Larvitar takes 2 dmg 4/6hp -1 pain
Pancham gains 1 hp 4/6hp -1 pain

Pancham has already caught up with his fresh opponent. His vitality is amazing. This pleases the crowd.

Sandstorm 1
(2)(4)(3)(3)
A sandstorm brewed!

"Larvitar, look to your right. The cliff. Larvitar, look to your left. The crowd. Now...Thrash!"

Thrash 2 - gonna make up some house rules for Rampage
Rampage: (2). Failure = 2 actions.
(5)(3)(3) The attack hits, sending Pancham across the field - directly orthogonal to the two directions Larvitar scouted out.
3* Str + 5 power -3 vit = 5d6
(3)(5)(6)(5)(3) Pancham takes 3 dmg 1/6hp -3 pain

Thrash 3
(6)(2)
(6)(6)(3)(5)(6) Pancham faints. Tanuki winces.
Larvitar is confused! He continues staggering around for a bit, waiting for Shiva's next Pokemon. It's clear the Thrashing has amplified his pain.

"Focus, Larvitar. Look behind you. No, the other way. Yes, you see me. Win or lose, we're going to Mount Sentry and you can eat your weight in soil. Concentrate and care, now!"

Nathan and Kirlia wince too. And neither really blame Forthright for not wanting to watch that.

Thrash is a VERY powerful move.  It's not very cute, either.

Kirlia's ready to grab some more ribbons, though!  He's expecting to be grabbing some green and white ones again!

Heart congrats his big lobster. "Awesome job Gustav!" Then Heart take the prize and soon join Nathan in the crowd (still wearing his red clothes as the image) and talk with him. "Heya Nathan. Heya Kirlia. How are you two?" Viktor go out from his Pokeball and wave his tiny hand to Kirlia.

Eep!

Kirlia gives a small wave back, but both he and Nathan are clearly a little more uncomfortable now...

"...d...doin' okay...I...g...guess..."

Okay, maybe a LOT more uncomfortable in Nathan's case.  Kirlia's making sure to insert himself between Heart and Nathan whenever possible.

Oh... At least Pancham made a dramatic Final Act and hasn't left stage before inflicting some pain onto that green Larvitar. Shiva made sure to catch him up as soon he was sent flying again after that second trashing around. Not in sadness, nor in frustration, nor in anger, but in a graceful dancelike movemnt, respect for her foe and a very subtle confidence that the odds were on her side. That sandstorm though - that one was hurting her eyes, leaving grains of sand in her hair and on her dress and will very likely do the same to her next Pokemon.

"Nevermind, my sweetish panda... You did AWESOME. You amazed the crowd. WE amazed the crowd, together. I'll end this battle...to our favour." Pancham is withdrawn after an appreciating pat that he likely won't feel due to fainted.

Green and white...? Nope, Shiva was going for green and pink, as the Pokeball Nighshade is contained in got thrown hiiigh up into the sky, releasing her at the peak before safely landing on her Master's extended hand!
