Valder puts on a more shameful smile, "And about that... you two wouldn't have any amazing tips for me to make more of an impression? I think this mission will be enough for a gauntlet, but... you know, you never know. You two seem more proffesional than the one's I've been working with- apart from Hasmed of course!" Valder makes a respectful gesture to Ventus.

 Valder looks at Shiva on the monitor to have something to focus on. He hopes they didn't see through his lie.

Shiva has just placed cell back to its respective place, now she had to draw it again. The new message... caused her to turn as pale as the waxlike body of her Litwick.

Don't panic, he said! They're after me, for whatever reason!

That'll be exactly what Shiva does, she picks Kyuu up from Nurse Joy's care to hold him close to herself, now providing safety to herself. Ah, she could faintly feel these psychic waves he's emitting... She uses their intervall to concentrate on her breath... She won't panic. But where's Ven when she'd appreciate his protection?  ...Nathan has already cleared 'the trouble', as he said... Haaah, he deserves thanks for this. (She gains a very shy +1 Loyalty towards him.)

We'll see how it goes. I'd say consider him a rival for the Library. He might blow the lid off the whole thing! And yeah I think he's really weird. Claims to be a psychologist or something. You know what they say about that kind of person."

"Ah......I see now. An outlier that could cause us......problems if he influences events too much. I'll eliminate him once we......extract the location from the girl, as the less contenders for the Library.......the better. Yes.....I've heard a funny about shrinks, once. 'Only the mad dare.....try to comprehend the human mind......' A waste of time.....I say."

Ventus then gestured to the video screen with his gauntlet covered hand, motioning it to general.

"So......when do we proceed with the blackout? Is their a......certain time that has to pass......or are we waiting on a signal to trigger it? "

Their attitude changes a bit. "Yeah, stick close to the mages. Our kind won't steer you wrong. Do what Hasmed says. Do what your benefactor says. Maybe keep Pawniard away when you don't need him. Practice your gestures, but ONLY when no one is around. It's OK to start looking like a mage now, but don't overdo it. Start growing a beard, maybe. "Waiting on the signal from Gren and Greave, like I said. A big Sandstorm spell. That means they are inside and unobserved. Any minute now..."

Ventus and Valder still have about 3 minutes to kill.

Ventus decides to just nod his head to the'gentleman', and wait for Dagney's signal that reinforcement have arrived/delayed. Having run out of things to say at this point without drawing attention to himself, the disguised researcher now just had to wait the time out, until the Steel Wonder finally signaled him....


Order: Wait until signal. If he receives the 'Reinforcements Are Here' one, he'll take out his phone and 'look' at the messages, before swearing and telling them that something came up that 'requires' his talents to 'clean up', and then he'll leave with Valder. If its the 'Reinforcements Delayed' one, he'll just wait until the two Scimitars start to voice their impatience, and then try to distract them for a little longer. Let's hope Ven and Vald don't have to wait TOO long...

It's obvious things are happening at the Little Cup. You can see a few too many cops, a few too many forced grins. The Scimitars are getting very suspicious when Ventus' phone buzzes, then buzzes again a couple times. Time to go! As you leave, you see the Scimitars also making some calls.

Outside in the hallway, a half dozen troops go storming past with Pawniards in front of them. A Shieldmaiden leads them and another brings up the rear. Initiatives will determine whether the Scimitars have a chance to press the button.

Ventus and Valder get 8Xp each, +2 for Heroism! You can each have 6Xp to divide among your Pokemon, since they learn a little something from watching the authorities fight.
Nathan gets 12Xp, +2 for Heroism, and each of his Pokemon that were in the fight get 7XP.


Grid comes up to Nathan with a wire in his mouth. He's very happy. +1 Happiness.
Then the wire sparks! Grid is surrounded with yellow energy, almost blinding Nathan. When it subsides, there's a GIANT TARANTULA POKEMON where tiny Grid used to be!

Congratulations! Grid has evolved into Galvantula!

Now then, time to deal with the cleanup...

The Scimitars come flying out of the lab, gauntlets fizzing. In moments, Pawniards and heavies are sitting on their chests.

Dagny calls Ventus. "Did I send enough? Good!"

Timelines are now in sync.

"That you did, my friend, that you did, " Ventus responds in his normal voice, an noticeable pleasant purr at seeing those vile, wretch mages get the tar beat out of them. True, he would have like to practice his advance interrogation techinques for what they dared tried to do to the Little Cup and his love, but seeing them KOed and their plans to ruins is a prefectly nice and acceptable substitute for true retribution.

"Should I stay here and brief the Shieldmadiens about everything I know, or should I report to you immediately and let you handle the particulars of this incident? This is your city, after all, so its your prerogative to manage things as you best see fit."

Successfully infiltrating and fooling his enemies, pumping them of all the useful intel they had before sabtoging their operation.....all of this reminded him of the 'good' times he had working with the Shadow Triad. While the memories are more bitter than sweet and full of rueful regret, some part of him still cherishes those simpler, focused times. Regardless, this whole situation resolution pet some pep into his step, and a great big smile on his face!

Leveling up Dexterity and Empathy to 3 and 1, respectively, for 26 XP, leaving me with just 3 left! Now I have above average speed AND 9 Dice to work in almost all moves! Horray! All that is left now is to max out Insight, then focus soley on my Specialities/Maybe gain 1 More Level in Knowledge!
