[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
(01-24-2018, 04:55 PM)PhantomUnderYourDesk Wrote: "...Probably, yes. Well, I certainly enjoy ancient and elusive knowledge, as long as it's not too much historical content." Hidden knowledge... What could it be? What made the Library so worthy, precious and possibly dangerous(?) to keep it all a secret? What other 'secrets' does it hold? Hmmmm. Shiva goes silent again, mulling over that thought and letting her imagination run free about the concent of that place.

"Oh, one more thing... Dr. Hypericac told me about a rumor that this artifact - that dark black Relic Stone - can be found within the capital region of Chreshire. I read and know that in Cress City, west from here, mythologists and mediums reside... It's the original capital. Do you people think we, well...might find answers there?"

...

"...in a way, it's ALL historical to some degree, Shiva, and knowing the history typically makes it easier to understand, no matter how strange or scary it seems. And understanding it means you know how to properly handle it if you ever encounter it or something similar.  That's why I spend so much time researching all this stuff, both recent and ancient.  That Relic Stone in Agate...it wasn't until 10 years ago that its true value was made known, but it's been there as long as anyone can remember...maybe Celebi knew its powers would be needed eventually, though nobody except Celebi itself would know for sure..."

...

"...if there's a Relic Stone anywhere in Creshire, Cress City would be my first guess, yes.  We'll have to go through Mt. Sentry to get there.  Stair City has its fair share of shrines too, though, despite being more modern.  There's one for Registeel in this very building, for example."

"Thank you, but no thank you, I'm living for the future instead of the past - And I'm getting along rather well, this does NOT mean I'm understanding things in a lesser degree. I'm just approaching things from a different angle, leading to different ways to handle something." Hmm, this answer probably has been voiced a little harsher that Shiva meant it. But she's definitely not in the mood to discuss about this, least of all with Nathan. Live and let live, accept each others viewpoint, that's it, thank you very much! Not too hard to do for her. Next!

The mentioning of shrines does remind Shiva on something, though this time she's lacking a can of soda to catch his attention. She probably doesn't need one anyway, as she may already have his attention now. "Now that you say it... Have you been looking into the task I've given you, Nathan? How was the search for names of shrines in this very region, fruitful?~" How it doesn't really wonder her that there's a shrine for RegiSTEEL within the Gym of a STEEL Wonder, was probably pointless to say.

Assuming that Nathan shows her the list of shrine names, Shiva does photograph them all with cell, being espiecially careful that the drawn symbol is visible in all its facets as she needs to paint-write one of them later. She'll copy the content of the photographs into her own journal later, not now as it's not very nice to leave Dagny/Ventus/Heart waiting for them much longer, as well as Shiva right now has slightly different worries.

Nathan rather...abruptly and roughly opens his journal to the page with the shrine names.

"...next time you need me to look for something like this, tell me both exactly what you need AND why.  It's fortunate I was able to figure out what you were doing with these.  Cresselia's by itself wouldn't be enough for Cleanse Tags for the Ruins.  They've tried that already.  Numerous times.  For decades.  So I took the liberty of finding 'a few more' since you never specified anything more.  Solomon recommends trying Giratina, Darkrai, and Protection, though he was also eying Landorus's, and I think we both know why.  Yes, there are shrines to concepts too, not just Legendaries and Mythicals.  Assuming you make one for me, I'd like Mesprit's shrine on there, as well as Protection if you can fit two on there (Nathan fiddles with that necklace again as he says this).  Don't give me one with Darkrai or Cresselias', please."

After Shiva photographs the shrine names (you have them all written down already, I assume?), Nathan closes the journal rather...loudly.

"...look to the future, but don't forget or ignore the past, lest you repeat the mistakes that have been made by those who came before you. That's why I research all this, and they're words I hope to live by.  I don't spend ALL my time with my nose in a book and one foot firmly in the past, thank you very much."

Ouch.  Seems like Nathan took that somewhat personally due to the wording and tone.

He heads back to the rest of the group.  That's the end of that discussion, it seems...

"Okay, Valder.  How did you...*achoo*...end up involved in that sticky situation with the Scimitars?  About time we finally heard that, I think."  (Still need to address this, @Nylon)
