*a few moments of embarrasing silence later* "*cough* Uhm.... Yeah, but good evening, Professor... Forgive me if i'm disturbing you in some important-looking work, but.........you requested a Skrelp from us? May I...ask why you'd like to have one and what purpose it will have?"

"Oh, err...I just meant in general. You're traveling together, I thought, and he just called me yesterday. Wow, that's a lovely Vaporeon! Where did you get it?"

"Oh! Skrelp! Yes, I need an aquatic Pokemon to help deliver mail all across the region, especially to the surrounding islands, which can be difficult to reach! As a Skrelp, it has excellent skills at hiding from predators, and can carry small, delicate loads, but I'll eventually raise it to a Dragalge to carry larger loads! I could give you $4000 for a Skrelp! If it's relatively obedient, that is."

4000$!!! That made Shiva freeze midmovement, but not in shock. Rather in...pleasant wonder... A professional Breeder does definitely have the potential to make a lot of money if knowing the business. No wonder her family was affluent despite never showing it off. In Shiva's case she felt incredibly lucky that this dark purple Mystery Egg has caught her eye.

"Delicate load, you say... Distant islands? You mean to Garlicburg? Hmmm.... I...well.........." *More hesitation, accompanied with another period of silence* "....I do happen to have a Skrelp, obediant and young, I've actually hatched it from an Egg I cared for two days ago... Means, it's seeing me as her mother. It likes me. But...poison, you know, toxins... It's complicated, okay? I simply do not feel capable to raise it to one be a noble Dragalge. I'd be...happy to do so... But I can't, I'm lacking the strenght, confidence and determination, I guess....Pretty silly, isn't it? But if YOU'd raise it to a Dragalge, you'd care for it in my name... That'd be better for young Ny- Skrelp. Just, well, take good care or her and everything, and hopefully - if not while still journeying - I can see her again and see how much she has grown under your care... She shouldn't forget her origin and how ironic it was that all the time me, with that affinity for Fairy and Grass Types, been caring for an Egg of THE most poisonous Pokemon known... Despite that, Cottonee showed no discomfort or fear when meeting her. Oh, that fluffball also says hi. She's by far no Whimsicott yet, but we've grown very close since you've brought us together. And we've slayed one or two dragons already!"

"Orre? It's across the sea, not in Creshire at all. It's one of the farthest regions from here, not a very hospitable climate. Mostly rocks, as I understand it. I think Nathan has done some research on farther regions."

This roll doesn't try to get Charmeleon to obey, but rather tries to get through to him so he understands the logic of the situation.



An Iron Ball? How can that be a match for a proud and mighty firebreather like Charmeleon? He roars and breathes flame - Shiva can feel the heat through her protective gear - but the Water Sport weakens it, and the ball simply steams. Normally it would have glowed and warped, but not been destroyed by any means. Now it just steams and steams, increasing Charmeleon's ire.

He pauses to think, not because Shiva told him to, but because his plans have gone awry. But the effect is the same. A trainer's command has entered his brain and started him down a different thought process.

Unfortunately none of this does anything for Charmeleon's temper. Soon, a Dragon Rage is brewing in the room. That Iron Ball is slammed against every concrete surface of the bare room and wreathed in the blue 'fire' of draconic power. That attack is not weakened at all, and the Iron Ball is soon covered in deep dents and scratches.

At the end of it, Charmeleon is panting and smiling. You're not quite sure if that is an evil smile or a satisfied one, or indeed if Charmeleon has learned any kind of respect.

For a brief moment Ventus had a concerned/unhappy looking frown as Charmeleon decided 'creatively' overcome the numerous fireproofing safeguards that had been put in place, but that was soon replaced by a patient smile as he detected that they were just being plain orney and tempermental, instead of maliciously so. He also saw/felt that at the very least the fire breathing lizard had learned to not being mindless with its aggression, though at this point the researcher wasn't sure whether or not that was a positive thing right now. After all, a brutish Disobedient Pokémon, while still a HIGHLY dangerous being to deal with, is much more preferable to a wickedly cunning one......

The fact that Shiva did spectacularly well with the fiery subject managed to brighten his already chipper mood to no him, with him thinking fondly of his mystical friend as he discretely watched her. 'My dear managed to get through a Disobedient Pokémon the first time, with no diabolical mishaps nor much help and experience with this! Astouding! She's certainly on her way to becoming a world class Breeder if she keeps making strides like this!' Still, despite how well she did, Shiva had absolutely no interest in dealing with Charmeleon after such a bracing  first impressions with it, and so deferred to him after feeding them and scruying off elsewhere to find another assignment. Ven couldn't help the slight worried frown at this, but in the end he shrugged it off ('Not everyone is inclined towards handling Disobedient Pokémon, so I can hardly blame her...')and approached the fire breathing lizard to assume responsibility of teaching it respect.....

.....and what better way than by a show of force?

"Thinking outside the boundries to overcome the limitations of all the heat resistance, I see.,..... Hmm, I have to say that's rather exceptional of you, Charmeleon! Keeping in mind Type Resistences and Strength, Battle Field Conditions, and creative application of your Moves is key to continuely grow into a strong, powerful and draconic Charizard, so by all means hone that intellect of yours!"

The researcher then crossed his arms across his chest, and gave them a charming looking smile, tilting their head as they did so.

"That being said, possessing great Strength and Knowledge is meaningless if you do not learn how to discipline yourself, or testing yourself against opponents that can truly challenge themselves to the fullest. If you can't control your temper, nor be considerate of others more than your own base desires, then all you ever will accomplish in your life will be endless frustration, despair, and perhaps worse still as all rejects and condems you as a raging beast, unfit for anything but staying locked up and in captivity."

He then shakes his head ruefully, as if distress by a sudden realization.

"Of course, I doubt you'll agree with my assessment, much less understand it, so how about I teach this via another method you'll be sure to love: a Pokémon Battle. I have a particularly tough Arbok that would surely love to have a challenging opponent such as yourself, and can take quite a bit of abuse due to her immense bulk. So much so that even Lethal Attacks or horrid Burns should not prove too worrisome, so you don't have to be even the least bit concerned in holding back."

He gestured towards them invitingly, with a inquisitive, curious stare this time.

"You have nothing to lose by fighting me, and can only grow stronger if you manage to win......perhaps even enough to Evolve! What do you say, Charmeleon?"

Order: Challenge Charmeleon to a 1V1 Battle with Apsis, with no limitation on the battle whatsoever (Including Lethal Damage) if he agrees! Hopefully he does, 'cuz then he gets to see what a mighty Dragon Group Pokémon looks like.....

Next up... Feeling like her heart has figuratively doubled its weight, Shiva called out that young Skrelp of her before even approaching mentioned Nurse Joy to conduct the trade, and picked her toxic seahorse up into her gloved hand. With them on, it was also safe to touch and carefully stroke her over the brown forehead. Haah, farewells are still not a really pleasant thing, but similar like with Tandal it wasn't forever. Hopefully not. "Welcome, nice to see you again, Nymue... Though, please listen up, I have important news for you. Concerning you. Concerning us two... The thing is, I'd enjoy to raise you, care for you, maybe even hold battles with you, eventually maybe even evolve you to unlock your draconic traits... But........I'm not feeling confident to do so."

"Poison and toxins are troublesome for me, and do not get me wrong, that does not mean I'm liking you less or such - but I want to see you grow up happily, have tasks to fulfill and be useful while I'm; maybe, maybe not, developing that confidence to be a worthy owner and mother for you, to be capable commanding you and be someone who can handle you with the best care." Pancham was/is a similar issue, but she insists to keep him as her Pokemon - small and noble straight from the egg, knowing it's place while she's still looking for hers. "That's why I've decided to bring you into the care of someone who is capable of exactly that - I spoke with him, he'll take good care of you, I trust him not only because he's a Professor, he said he has plans to evolve you and stuff... But we'll see one another again. Promised. Just...don't forget your origin and me, alright? Me and my fairies, who hatched you, the most poisonous Pokemon known... From all her stuff, Shiva draws a pure white thread of Cottonee's fluff that she deliberately put aside when creating that noble Reshiram Plush, and carefully wrapped it around Nymue's neck. "Behave yourself, okay? Don't mourn for me for too long, alright? Now... Back into your...Safari Ball..." *sniff*

Oh, spotted the Nurse Joy Professor Mallorn mentioned. "Ehm, Nurse Joy...! I'm sorry for the late disturbance, but I need to conduct a trade to Professor Mallorn's lab..."


(I'll add the precious 4000$ then. Hehe... Paying for that Upgrade for Shiva's Almanac'Dex' on Pokemon from Tandor feels like a piece of cake now.)

With a nod and a serene smile, Ventus quickly backs off to make room for his sister as he summons her into the room, who almost instantly sized up her fire breathing opponent with a serious and haughty stare. So her master was sending her out to face off against a fire breathing dragon now, who looked primed and ready to tear her purple scaled body right up, huh? Well, it can certainly try , in between avoiding her trying to taking her pound of flesh from this impunent youngster's hide, *Hissss!*

"Apsis, this is Charmeleon, who's agreed to have a friendly spar with you to work out some problems with their temper, so please do your utmost to ingrain some discipline in them, alright my sister? With that in mind, use Acid Spray, then Wrap them up and start chomping on them with Bite. If they look like they are about to Faint, hold back or stop assaulting them. We want to teach them to respect authority and power, not trying to punish them for it, so restrain your urges to finish them off!"

Order: Apsis will use Acid Spray to lower their power, then Wrap them up and then use Bite twice. If Charmeleon is dropped to half HP after the first Bite, though, she'll hold back her next Bite. Poisonous Snake vs Fire Breathing Lizard go!!!
