Whoahw, I congratulate you for keeping Heart being so adamant, Spirit. Honestly, not sarcastically, this needs strength. I have not much of a problem if Heart remains like that, but if he starts with insulting or offensive behaviour, Shiva will inevitably step in simple because she cannot tolererate such a thing, to none unless she really despises the target.

Thanks. Its kinda experience in real life. Only be friendly with someone who is friendly with you. If that person dont want your help, or not threat with you with the same friendship, then that person dont deserve to be called friend. I try to reflect that in my character in the campaigh, like part of my essence. And no need to worry about insulting or offenssive. Heart already see Nathan dont react or take actions even when insulting. Heart will not do anything.

Thing is, Nathan's been burned before. Badly. So he takes a similar approach, but it's more...extreme. Heart's approaches haven't gone unnoticed, but it's the 'tough love' that Nathan's reacted negatively to, which is why he's giving Heart a particularly hard time.

He's reacted, but not positively. Heart hasn't been helping because of the ways he's trying to 'help'.

Hence why Nathan's gone back to being angry with Heart in some fashion.

Ah sorry if Heart and much of the others still tired of being be threat the way Nathan threat them bad lately. There is much reasons to the others ignore Nathan and try to avoid. Reasons I already mention here in the thread before (more them one time) and it is complete unecessary to repeat myself. Heart is simple tired and frustratred to be friendly with Nathan, and Ventus tired of trying help the boy. And Shiva even she still someway loyal to him, she beguin to dubious if is wortly hold such friend with Nathan. Like I always say: Karma is a bitch. And everything you do, someday will come back to you. And now Nathan anti-social (yes I still think Nathan is anti-social) is back to take his bills: His friends is trying to avoid him, and have people who dont trust with him (Heart and Valder).

So yeah, the group have several reasons to avoid/ignore Nathan presence a lot. Like Heart say to Shiva: Nathan is like a wall of spikes. The more you try punching the wall to understand Nathan, more spikes stuck in your hands and hurting you. And from where I can remember, Arial is the only character who like feel pain (my character in Celadon City campaigh). The others not.

Spirit, there's no need to take such an antagonistic view of Nathan, so please stop.

Nobody's even really asked in character why Nathan's so...prickly.  It'd be a good deal easier to understand him if someone did.  Everything I've had him do has a reason attached to it, and it's not just a grating personality thing.

And where Nathan fails, Kirlia tries to fill in the gaps instinctively.  Which is a VERY important point that Heart seems to have missed entirely.

Cant helped if Nathan did act like that back there. Nathan actions until now help to make this antagonistic view. Sorry, but it is the truth.

You DO know we did not have a telepathic in our group to read every action and think of Nathan right? What you expect to happen? To anyone awake some kind of super natural powers and read Nathan mind to discover his sad path then have some scene like: "Ah sorry Nathan, now I understand the paintfull path you have forced to take! About how you have forced to killed your own samurai clan and escaped to join with the others! Lets be friends now and forget all the pain!". Sorry, but the way things is going, I preetty sure the chance of the others try to understand Nathan with his stuborn personality is: 0000000000000,0000000000001% or work.

Like I say many times, Nathan actions dont help much Heart see Nathan with good eyes. Along with the reason Nathan threat very bad Heart in the beggining of the journey. Or did I have to remind you the whole event?

He does comment on Ventus's lecture, though.  

"*AHEM!*  I'm right here, you know.  And no, Skorupi is NOT up for trade right now.  And nor do I approve of your 'hunts' in the slightest, and I don't recommend you encourage those habits.  At all.  End of story."

The sociologist shakes his head and outright sighs at Nathan's stubborn, traditionalistic side rearing its head yet again, not in the least appreicating their attempt to override/shutdown his own advice/initiative on this topic, nor is he pleased with their continued hostility/apathy towards Heart.

"Nathan, my advice is just that: advice. A series of informed suggestions based on my years of research and personal experience when handling and interacting with Poison type Pokemon that you are under no obligation to agree or endorse in, if you so choice. As a Pokémon Researcher, its my duty to both learn and educate about these creature various habits, behaviors, percularities etc.. and how to better understand one another, not hide or secret away inconvenient and/or distasteful facts. If that means I informing Heart of the possiblity that hunting can help him better bond with his Venipede, then I will glady do so, even if it racks against your sensibilities. I respect your beliefs, listen when you speak about them, and try to avoid violating, I truly do, but they are not my own and you can't just force them upon me when you find yourself wanting of mine own.  Please Nathan, can we not just agree to disagree on this? I would also appreciate you not being so cold and hostile towards Heart, as he has thus far not done anything to deserve such treatment and is making an honest integrating into our group. The researcher expression is one of marked frustration, a little bit of upsetness, and liberal application of unhappiness, and his tone was sullen + serious. If Nathan was allowed to be tired of Ventus' various antics and bugbears, then by Reshirim the reserves can be said to be true as well!

"I never asked for him to just suddenly appear and start making a habit of showing up unannounced, and he's certainly no friend of mine."


Out comes Calam!

"Watch Kirlia please, Calam.  Make sure he's getting the rest he needs.  I'm going to go get some air."

And with that, Nathan's left the tent without another word to Ventus and not a single word to Heart, his new fedora low over his eyes once more.

So much for a potential extended conversation with Nathan...Shiva will probably find him tending to Swiftfire when she gets to the camp.

"Okay. That's it. Enough to be mister nice guy. What your problem with me anyway mr. Anti-social? If you don't like me, it's okay, I respect your decision, but don't need to be hostile, Nathan Drake."


Heart was very stressed after the words of Nathan and approach him and put two fingers in his face.

"I go where I want, and I don't need your permission Nathan. If you have any problem with me, two words to you: Screw you. I don't need to be nice with someone who treat me like that. And if you need any help, don't expect any mine. Good night Nathan Drake."

Heart don't like very much to be rude or something but he have a hard day and Nathan act was the last thing.

"What his problem anyway Ventus? Why he act so much as a jerk. Sorry for the things I say to him, but I don't like someone to treat with such hostile. I try to be very honest with my emotions, even when people don't like. I am calling Heart for a reason."

Nathan REALLY doesn't appreciate that.  "It's WARREN.  Maybe you'd know that if you bothered to do more than just intrude on my personal business."


Nathan continues on his way out.  That definitely didn't help improve his mood any...and he still needs to talk with Shiva as well...might as well just get it over with when she gets to the camp, to be honest...Swiftfire would be decent company in the meantime...

Kirlia is staring daggers at Heart.  Oh he did NOT just antagonize Nathan.  Nope, Kirlia doesn't want Heart to be anywhere near him now.  No way.  He'd have left with Nathan if he could have.

Calam just shakes his head in exasperation.  Well, this was certainly going sour...he tries to encourage Ventus and Heart to continue this conversation in a different part of the tent.

Heart did not forget. He hardly forgetting something. There is one of the reaons he spell wrong the name of Nathan in purpose. And Nathan actions AFTER that event only make things worse. Yep, Heart have many reasons to despise Nathan a lot. Even when Heart try to be friendly with him.

On a different note...

I'm actually considering picking up another Fire type from the Shelter.  Emphasizing Nathan's tendency to be a 'passionate flame' (hence his preference for Psychic and Fire types) a bit more.  (Psychic also meshes well with his knowledgeable side)

Charmeleon might make a nice pick, if maybe an expensive one...another Fire type might work as well, though.

Plus, Nathan could always use more pokefriends.

Ven would actually be very much approving of THAT decision, and it would give both him and me more reason to interact with Nathan beyond the bare minimum to avoid conflict, helping him out when needed, or when important things need to be discussed. Having either Pyroar OR Charmeleon on your team would certainly be a nice addition regardless, as both are powerful Pokémon in their own right even if you have to work your but off to get them to not go 'Shan't!' constantly!

Also, on the topic of Nathan personality: Quit it guys. We've all said our piece on this, so let us be at peace with it.

Yup, and either him or Charmeleon would be spectacular. Hmmm...question is, which might be a better fit? I could see Nathan using either of them, really.

Pyroar because he particularly likes human company, mirriring Nathan's attachment to pokemon. Kirlia's constant presence might help him get used to being around pokemon again, as well...and he's a pack animal, so Orthros should get along well with him eventually as well...

...meanwhile, Charizard are very historically significant in Creshire, and Charmeleon might jump at a chance to attempt to get as strong as Aspis...(and with only 2 Disobedience, he's far less risky to use as well...)

Hmmm...well, think Ventus might be able to suggest the idea of picking one of them up to Nathan, @Lord Windos? (would have to also tell him Charmeleon is there if that's going to be an option)

Then what you expect me to do? Talk with Nathan and apologize? Nope, knowing Nathan he will likely diminute Heart or ignore him. Heart its normally a understable guy, but he have some self-pride thank you. And the tough help is the only language Nathan is capable to understand, since he have a hard skull to listen to others. But Nathan will not need to be worry about Heart "help". Because he give up in trying to help or understand Nathan. He already accept the fact Nathan is a lost cause. It was about time in opinion. 

Unless you have some kind of mirabolantic strategy to do something about it Mr.

Yeap, he can certainly do that if Nathan expresses interest in adding more Fire types/Pokémon to his team! That can easily be set up in the lobby, and we can also use that time for him to tell the group when he's going to challenge the gym (So that they can go see it if they wish), talk about 'Researching' Solomon's Hidden Power some more, and bringing up the information found at the Scimitar base! Or Ven can just casually bring up Pyroar and Charmeleon to him before he leaves for work, and have Nathan pull him into a conversation about that. Your choice, really!

Ix nay on the being overly hostilely nay, Spiritmon. Like Iron said, its fine to play out our character's feelings towards each other in game, but we should TRY our best not to let such things get to us as well. Ventus and Shiva may not like Orthros all that much, but we/they more or less accepted he's not going anywhere and have dealth with in their own ways peacefully by this point, even if their view of Nathan has lessened to varying degrees because of this, for example.

Point is, we all have our own views on the various things our characters have fucked up in, but by now we've already clearly and subtly explained them to DEATH , and only continuely bringing it up will create toxicity and an environment of bitter unpleasenetness. So please, just......stop it for now. At least wait until Nathan does something particularly offensive before bringing up this topic again, or address it in a less provocative and hostile way and offer more constructive critisim.

We've aired our grievances amply on this topic, so let's not keep doing......

Yes, I would very much like it if Heart apologized to Nathan for insulting Kirlia and then walking off before Nathan had a chance to respond right then and there. Expect Nathan to do something in response to that soonish if that's not remedied.

Casually mentioning Pyroar and Charmeleon sounds like a good way to go. I'll have Nathan meet Ventus and Shiva in the lobby again so he can tell them he's challenging Dagny for his first encounter slot. As for returning Forthright and Starmie...well, guess that can be on the evening of Day 47 (dang simultaneous posting!). Lemme just type something up moderately quickly here...
