[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

Arbok took lethal damage, so she did learn something from that battle even though it was pretty easy. She gains 2XP. Ventus and Shiva each gain 2XP.

I think Arbok would shed her skin just about every day she is in a battle. Can definitely do some crafting with that.

(Ventus and Nathan just posted conflicting accounts, at the same time, of how the Pokemon get back to Nathan. Maybe you two can decide who edits.)

Ventus' egg is getting pretty close to hatching! He thinks it will be someday this week.

Heart's Pokemon gain 1XP. None of them have any breakthroughs. As usual, it takes some chiding to get Nidorino to obey.

Heart was kind tired of the training. "Welp, I think this is enough." Them Heart decided to go to another place. He wander though Star City thinking about what to do. "Hmm, man what I should do...I do not feel in the mood to find another pokemon battle...what to do hmm...." Then Heart pass though the Shellter once more. "Huh. Well, I guess it couldnt hurt to work a bit here. Lets see what I can do around here." 

After walking around, he decided to take some information. "Excuse me, could you help me with something? Some friends of mine: Shiva and Ventus work here and I would like to ask if I can work here for a while. Is there some vagues to work here or anything as a volunteer?"

Evening of Day 47

As Nathan is napping when Venttus knocks on the door to Nathan's room, Kirlia's the one who opens the door and greets Ventus.

Forthright immediately bursts out of her apricorn and heads over to Nathan to snuggle. Between her and Orthros (who Nathan is hugging in his sleep, and which Ventus can clearly see. It's also one of those rare moments where Orthros is sleeping too), he's got plenty of reason to be sleeping peacefully.

Kirlia motions to stay quiet, takes Starmie's pokeball from Ventus as well as the Blue Fitted Apricorn, and then gives Ventus a quiet, thankful nod.

And if Ventus has nothing to say to Kirlia or anything 'urgent' to ask of Nathan while there's an opportunity, that probably concludes this little interaction.

Morning of Day 48

Nathan's definitely not the first one in the lobby today. When he comes down, he gives Ventus and Shiva a tired looking wave when he sees them.

Well, he's stopped sneezing every thirty seconds, so that's good. Sleeping the cold off seems to have helped a great deal.

Nathan grabs some orange juice and some pancakes and sits at a table for breakfast. If anyone wants to ask how he's doing and what his plans for the day are, now's the time to do so!

Forthright's very happy to be back with Nathan. She refuses to stay in her apricorn. Starmie's out and about as well. Kirlia's smiling, very happy with the current situation.

"Oh yes, we love volunteers!" says the receptionist. "Yesterday, those two were training a Charmeleon! Today, I'm going to have them try to cheer up a Grumpig. If you want, you can work with our Skull Ruins Pokemon. We have a Lunatone, a Solrock, and a Baltoy who wandered in from the Ruins. Director North said he needs someone to build them a mini-ruins in the yard. Do you like building?"

Flashback: Evening of Day 47

Upon giving Kirlia both of Nathan's Pokémon back, Ventus gaze is drawn towards were Nathan sleeps when their own child goes flying over to sleep with them......and then witnesses the sight of the boy slumbering with Orthros in his embrace.

The researcher's eyes widened, and he takes a half step back at seeing.....feeling such....such peace and comfort emanating from the strange and unlikely duo. Despite being asleep and in extreme proximity to that nightmarish abomination of a dog, the boy wasn't in any discomfort or in the throws of some horrid dream; in fact, the exact opposite effect to be taking place. What....what in Reshirim's name was he seeing?!

'This....is this reality? Nathan and that....beast, so closely connect to one another, bonded tightly.....yet nothing foul or insidious is occurring.....? That....that shouldn't be possible, not with that thing , but......my senses are not deceiving. How.........why? Why? Why.......?'

Numbly staring at Nathan + Orthros, another vision comes to him unannounced: his own sister, happily and blissfully snoozing away with her own pet Lillipup in her arms, totally unaware of her brother checking in on her for the night........ A vision which Kirlia, if he was paying attention at the time, could see/share if he choose to.

Ventus visibly flitches badly as this vision/comparison, and Kirlia in that instance saw several things flint across the empath's face, thing most rare for the individual in question: Fear , Unease, Uncertainty, Anxiety, Hurt, Sadness, Sorrow, Pain, Understanding. The young psychic doesn't get to see much more, though, for the researcher started to swiftly backpeddle out of their master's room, before practically bolts away to their own, as if something was chasing after him.

Perhaps there was.

Kirlia's taken aback by that memory of Ventus's.

...he doesn't know how to react.  It hadn't been what he'd been expecting.  He'd been prepared to reinforce himself for the...usual reactions, not...that.

...he quietly shuts the door after a moment of stunned silence when Ventus flees the scene, then heads to the other bed in the room.  Nathan has all the comfort he needs right now, and there's no more space in his friend's bed anyways.  

...if Ventus has something to say about this, it'll probably come up later...if it does at all...

...but regardless of whether it does, Kirlia couldn't deny that it seems to have made an impact.  Positive or negative, he couldn't quite fully tell...what Ventus was feeling was all such a jumbled mess, strangely...

Ventus woke up at the crack of dawn with a bright smile on his face (As usual), and gently/carefully got out of bed without waking his fae friend. The sociologist noticed from looking out the window that the rain had finally abated, causing him to perk up a little morning at the though of foul weather no longer ruining the days of the myriad citizens in Stair, nor make anyone else ill! After this brief insight, he completed his morning rituals, getting got and headed downstairs to grab breakfast for the both of them, and headed back to their room, and then went over to shake Shiva awake.

"Dear....dear......its time to awaken. A new day dawns, and so to should you if you want to complete your work at the shelter in a timely manner! Breakfast is on the table, so let's dig in, shall we?"

No bad dreams during the night for her, as Shiva feels like it's indeed true that time, distraction and feelings of having achieved something that day that she thought she couldn't (Charmeleon) can heal wounds to some degree. Scars remain, visible ones or not, that's the way it is.

When Ventus removed himself from being an alive pillow to cuddle upon in the morning, Cottonee instantly took that place by shoving both that Snivy-Plush and then herself into her sweet and still peacefully slumbering Master. When that slumber has been disturbed by both the fact that it's a beautiful day outside and Ven awaking her with the sentiments of breakfast and more work at the Shelter, Shiva at first rather relucantly expressed not wanting to get up, but eventually exactly these sentiments won and made her leave the comfort of the bed and take a drowsy look outside of the window while putting her untidy hair back into place by hand after having given Vaporeon - seemed like she was enjoying the place on the windowsill - a pet over the forehead. It earned her a lick over the hand.

.......No rain anymore. It's a pretty day, seemed like the weather will be nice, leaving a feeling of joy dwelling in the city streets. Reminded her on peaceful afternoons during spring in her homecity's Central Park, feeding Pidove and taking some of the freshly-hatched Grass Types on walks... Sweet and innocent memories. Now, if reminding herself on the issues she silently struggled with, it made her faintly wishful and melancholic. There was no shadow waiting behind her back then.

Keep yourself together, my dear, stay positive today, alright?

*turning away from the window* "How sweet that you're always bringing breakfast up here, Ven. Thanks! Before we head to the Shelter, I'd like to pay the Department Store a visit, as there was no time for that yesterday. I...ehm... eventually brought Skrelp into Professor Mallorn's care, and there's something I'd like to buy for the money he sent me in return... You can come too if you'd like, or progress to the Shelter."

To somewhat express joy and love, she deliberately tied the bow of her outfit out of a ribbon resembling a Sylveon's ribbons in contrary to an Umbreon's one, which she hasn't for a quite a while. Hopefully today Shiva will find the courage to ask Lil' Freedy if he'd be down for a friendly battle after the workshift at Shelter.

It wonders her a little that she was able to sense that happiness coming from his Kirlia, Starmie and Castform without having to concentrate her senses, but she didn't show that on the outside - must mean that he's indeed doing well. Neat!~

Kirlia casts a brief glance at Ventus, then turns his attention back to Nathan.  He wasn't going to worry about it too much so long as it didn't cause any problems.

"Plans?  Uuuhhhh...well, probably going to challenge Dagny first thing after restocking on Potions and the like...and then...*sniff*...I don't know.  Maybe spend a little time wiith Starmie later.  Been awhile since he's been in the party...counting on it just as much as Calam and my fire types for this gym battle...hopefully it's not too out of practice..."

Hmm, seems like the cold was still causing issues, he wasn't out of the woods yet. Didn't matter, it got better, it only can get even better if not overworking oneself. Nevertheless, Shiva mentally shook her head before drawing another small unused package of tissues from her belongings, before handing it to Kirlia with the words "Here, you two can keep these as well. Make sure your Master doesn't overdo it today, alright?" This tissues depicted multiple Roselia, dancing gracefully in breezes of petals.

"Good luck then on your Gym Battle. I'm sorry that I cannot watch you battling - you know, work, but I'll have my agreement to obtain Gothitelle - Lilith - by noon tomorrow. (^v^)☆ Yes, Ven, my dear, I know - but this name has an astrological meaning that I'm enjoying connecting her with, I'll make sure that it doesn't cause confusion when both your....what was it again... Quetzoral and Gothitelle are outside of their balls. A-Alright? Oh, I'll probably have her outside quite often... "  "B-Back to topic. I'd be, eh, happy to know what Pokemon Dagny used and how your battle was later then, Nathan... To know whether I can... I mean, to estimate how my chances to win are standing. I...I know it'll be hard probably, but....hmmm... ANYWAY, doesn't matter!" >_<


"I would like to ask you one more thing before we all depart to conduct out respective businesses, Nathan." Shiva got visibly more serious once she had spoken this out - she observes the floor for a little while gathering her thoughts, thinking about how to phrase the sentiment and whether he'd share... But... Now she finally faces him again, after having casted a glance over to the dark oddball of sociologist beside her to gather the courage to speak it out. "What do you actually know about Relic Stones? What do they have to do with sweet Celebi, and what does Chresire have to do with both?"
