[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

Any other trainer would have surrendered.

Unless you have Dagney succesffuly dodge Nathan's hit, then have Excadrill lay into Starmie with a couple of EQs . That be one way of turning the match over to her in a sudden upset!

It's possible but unlikely, since Excadrill is at -3 and has less dex than Starmie (though you don't know how many ranks in Evasion she might have).

About to head to class in 15 Minutes, so if Nathan ends up talking to Ventus post match just Auto him Iron to act normally/non hostilely (Though acting nervous/unhappy around him if Orthros ends up summoned is more than justifiable!). Sorry guys!

Congratulation for winning your Gym battle, Nathan! Sorry for being somewhat completely silent/not-posting during it, life kept me busy and forced me to rest.

But...during outta-chara reading through the Rounds and the general feeling of the battle against Dagny, I somewhat got almost certain that Shiva would fall spectacularly if facing if Dagny keeps such a pressure and strength, ergo doesn't hold back on what she can do... (her not doing so is not at all a wrong thing though, it wouldn't match her personality and I wouldn't either with my own Pokemon) Though she seems to adapt herself to the skill of the challenger, so there's...hope?

She'll use different Pokemon, but her dice pools will be the same.

Oh right, on the mentioning of 'different Pokemon' *hope intensifies*... Dagny hasn't used that Steely Type-Delta Porygon during this battle! I guess with its hinted unique capabilities and Shiva's general dislike against Delta Pokemon it'd be interesting for her to face that one.

Phew, that battle was HARD...

And if there's any advice I have for you after that battle, Iron, it's to watch those weather effects more carefully, and I'm not just talking about the end of round damage that both Orthros and Starmie dodged. That Probopass would have been a LOT more difficult for Nathan to take down if it had gotten the +2 Defense from the Sandstorm since it's part Rock type. A 7 Defense Probopass would have been...blegh. Bubblebeam would have been doing 1 D6 +1, Hydro Pump and crit Night Slash, 3 D6 (+1)...was totally expecting that Probopass to be the most difficult pokemon to bring down on the team.

Everything else was either just fine or accounted for already (except Earthquake CAN be evaded if we want to get into the nitty gritty of the rules. It's classified as an area attack, not a battlefield one. But yeah, GM discretion and all that. Getting off the ground to avoid it entirely is probably able to be interpreted as super duper difficult). I'll make sure to redo my notes for Me First in both campaigns now that you've pointed out the slight text difference that I had overlooked. That was a very good battle, and I enjoyed the challenge!

Never underestimate a good weather team!

Duly noted, thank you. I'd probably have built Dagny's team differently if I'd remembered that, since fighting a 7 vitality opponent is boring.

You can dodge an Earthquake, you just need a good excuse. So Dagny's banter is appropriate but not 100% accurate.

Ready to challenge Dagny and probably face her Delta Porygon? Or is that getting delayed?
