[Game] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure: Celadon City Vandel
(02-03-2018, 08:37 AM)Dragonstrike Wrote: "Archer.  Pleasure to see you again.  Last time was...I think the Saffron job."

Ah yes, the same job where Weavile snatched a Scope Lens and an Expert Belt for Reiner's other pokemon.  One from someone who'd just made a purchase at Silph Co., the other from a Black Belt from the Fighting Dojo.

That hadn't been the original mission, obviously.

"Anyways...Clair's no longer in the city.  She failed in her mission.  She won't be causing me any more problems."

It's a good thing Reiner's got that deadened calm.

"I still need to talk with Erika today.  Have that Balm Mushroom yet, or was the Blackthorn Gym Leader's unexpected appearence just THAT disruptive to the current operations?"

It's a REALLY good thing Reiner's got that deadened calm.  He's not in the mood for messing around right now.  He's got things to do still, and gosh darn it, he's gonna do them!

"Your most welcome. Yes..... Proton informed me you did well in accomplishing that mission,  completing it quickly without once being detected and escaping well before the alarm was raised. Most impressive, Mr. Arendse...."

After that perfunctory greeting/praise was conducted, Archer listed to your report with that characteristic detatched, analytical gleam in his eyes, before he minutely raised on of his eyebrows at you.

"That is a rather......vague and open ended explaination, Mr. Arendse, and do believe I asked for a detailed report of your activities, no a summation. Last reports indicated that the Gym Leader tried to persuade you into accompanying her back to Blackthorn, and you managing to calm her down and lead her to the Tea Shop for further conversation, before survaliance was lost and you regained contact with Team Rocket several hours later. Both Giovanni and all the Executives, including myself, wish for a complete recounting of event in the interval of time so that we can fully assess for ourselves the full ramification of Clair's unannounced arrival in Celadon, so if you would please clarify and expand on your statements....."

The sharply dressed gentleman, after taking a moment to give you an expectant stare, then continued without hardly missing a beat.

"I see your missions from the Boss hold the highest priority for you.....a most excellent thing indeed. It a most respectable and laudible quality to have such dedication, and I encourage you to cultivate. After all, you are soon to be the Boss' newest Executive, Mr. Arendse."

"Getting back on topic, we dispatch some Grunt to the location you indicated, and have indeed found and secure the areas. Management and harvesting of the various fields has commenced, and fortunately there were a couple of fully mature Balm Mushrooms ready to be picked. They will be sent once this meeting is conclude."

A faint but definitely genuine smile appeared on the Executive's face at this point, and a bit more warmth crept in his polite tone of voice.

" With this, Erika will be firmly and definitely placed under Team Rocket's control, moving the organization one step closer to fully consolidating our control and powerbase in Celadon City. A most monumentous occasion indeed, one that will greatly please the Boss...... I congradulate you for job done most excellently, Mr. Arendse. You've have and will have done Team Rocket a great service accomplishing your missions this week, helping further our goals of achieving complete and utter control of the Tohjo region. On behalf of the Boss, I thank you. Your tireless work and dedication will be amply rewarded, and I believe he couldn't be prouder of you, in my humble opinion....."

Well, seeing Archer smile was...weird.

It wasn't going to last long though, that's for sure.

"Not much of particular interest.  I attempted to have a nice chat with her, it then devolved into a battle which I barely managed to convince her to keep away from the city's population (and rightly so, since that explosion everyone heard was a couple of Z moves clashing with each other), and then I beat her in that battle and KOed her.  Took her pokemon and possessions off of her, made her disappear.  I'll finish my business with her at a later date, when I don't have a load of other things to worry about."

"I can tell you right now what the consequences of her not succeeding in her mission are, though.  You familiar with what a Wild Hunt is, Archer?  Because when Clair fails to return to Blackthorn with me in tow, that's what the Elders have planned next.  Dragon Tamers are going to be swarming the region, and they're all going to be looking for me.  We have maybe a week tops after the Flower Festival to prepare for that.  At best."

Your assumption was spot on, for soon after you reiterated the heavily censored and condensed version of events Archer once again had a neutral expression, though this time it appeared more thoughtful than.....analytical.

"No offense, Mr. Arendse, but I politely disagree. Any intelligence was can gather on the various Gym Leaders in the region is a boon for Team Rocket, as the more we know of them the great degree of control we can exert on them when able, and how to appropriately subdue them in a worst case scenario. With that being said, would you kindly recount your conversations in full with Clair in the Tea Shop to the best of your ability? I'm sure you can agree that 'knowing thy enemy' is critical in almost all situation, so I would like a complete report of it so that we (The Executive and The Boss) can pour over it later, and make our own determinations and decide upon the right course of action."

He then made gave you a respectful nod of his head towards you, and briefly flashed you an half smile for a job well done of 'taking care of' Clair.

"Regardless, taking down and disposing Clair is accomplishment that deserves all the praise and recognition it deserve, so once again you've done an Excellent job and great service to Team Rocket, Mr. Arendse. Out of respect and deference towards your familial relations with her, I'll leave the matter of handling her Pokémon to you, as well as let you tie up any lingering business she had by yourself, unless you or the Boss requests otherwise. Hmm.....Perhaps you could install yourself as the new Gym Leader of Blackthorn once you become an Executive and conquer it? Its just a suggestion, from one Executive to another, though one that has quite some merit to it in my humble opinion. At the very least, their is a certain sense of poetic irony about the exiled forcibly reclaiming his birthright despite your people's best efforts to deny you it, no?"

Archer let out a small, friendly chuckle as he said this, looking bemused and pleased at his.......idea, though you think he didn't mean anything offensive by it; at least not intentionally so, anyway.

Bringing up the Wild Hunt, however, soon wipes all traces of mirth and camaradence of the chief Executive's face as both his eyebrows were raised into his hairline, until his expression twisted in frown of distinct charign and he clicked his tongue in distaste at the news.

"......Indeed I am, Mr. Arendse. Tsk, those troublesome, meddlesome Elders.......they just don't know when to give up , do they. *Sighs* If they going to as prompt in desires to reclaim you for themselves, then I suppose you'll get the chance to launch a counter offensive against them and Blackthorn sooner rather than later. With you as an Executive and your experience with the city and your culture, the Boss will no doubt feel much more motivated to curtail that isolationist clan you hail from and bring it under both your heels, especially if they are making designs to take you away from him and Team Rocket. Nobody tries to steal from him and get away with it. Well, unless the persons and peoples are on an express trip to the afterlife. He's very much inclined for them go there."

Somewhere far away from all chaos and issues concerning either Dragon Type Gym Leader or near-death due to a run-in with a Pokemon...

Mina let Emily explore the studio for the full half an hour as much as she wanted, and as it didn't look at all like she'd be up to 'accidently' snatch something from her art supplies - sometimes, Mina wondered about why one or two pencils got missing if she's not visiting this room for a day, she suspected mischievous wild Fairy Types or Ghost Types that live between the walls of the building - she allowed her to touch every art supply Emiliy wanted to touch. It was actually rather entertaining and amusing to watch her being so IMPRESSED by a room that was nothing too special for Mina, she had her silent fun watching the smol artist with the sunglasses and gloves while she herself loafed on the bed and stroked over the purple snout of Momochi, who has soon laid her head into her dear Master's lab.

When Emily has finished her selfguided tour and sat herself onto the edge of the bed, Mina gave her a smile that was expressing both appreciation and embarrassment over how much she seemed to value being here. Almost a little...too much, haha, but Mina decided to not mind that too much. That smile and her expression developed into a thoughtful one while she listened what Emily had to say to her, and how she seemingly felt comfortable enough to open her heart towards her concerning art...

"First of, ya don't need to adress me with 'Miss', Emiliy. 'Mina' is just fine, actually, but if ya want to keep that title for...respect", this faintly awed Mina, "then just do so~ Eh, and, well, nice to hear ya're enjoying this mess of a room so much... I can do what I want, but it always ends like this sooner or later, duh. But if I can find the things I'm looking for when I need 'em, it should be fiiiine!~"

When Emiliy opened up she...wanted to...be like...her, Mina faced her, blinked a few times in confusion, before delightfully chuckling and reaching out to ruffle Emily's hair for a little (if she lets her, that is). "My my, yar surely havin' plans as big as a Wishiwashi in School Form, have ya? Well, it's nice to see that you have such dreams, and you're still young, so GO AND CHASE 'EM WITH FORCE AND PITCHFORKS!!!" On that words, Mina determined raised her fist in the air, as if this was a personal rebellion and revolution and they two were on the front line, even Momochi raised her head as if she wanted to show that she's ready to fight for their belief. "Ehm , well, how I came to art is a long story... But to make it a bit short and not bore you with unecessary details, I've been drawing since being a preschooler, after I've realized that that weird colorful stuff called 'paint' and these sticks called 'pencils' can leave lines on white paper, it was not too hard to keep me occupied if given these materials. A keyevent was certainly when Olea, a pet-Snubbull at my parent's house, once accidently shredded a drawing of a meadow of flowers I made and showed to her... Hehe, I've certainly been sad over that believing that my art was not good enough, and eventually desired to get better. Now, Alola knows me as an excentric artistic Trial Captain with a faible for Fairies and not even a Trial until lately, hehe." She rubbed the back of her head in embarassment over this status of her in her home region.

"Oh, and that drawing of Kyubei starring at the moon from the window has been inspired by me once seeing an wild Alola-Ninetails casting a shining Moonblast at night at another wild Pokemon that has likely entered its territory, chasing it off that way and then returning to watch and howl at the full moon. Ya know, where I'm comin' from, Ninetails are not like Kyubei at all - they're white, Fairy and Ice Type, and were believed to be incarnations of female deities. Cool, isn't it? Eh, for how I create art and stuff... Well then, how about you hand me that sketchbook over there - yes, exactly that one, thank you - and summon one of your own Pokemon?"

"No, they don't know when to give up, stubborn old fools that they are.  Which is why Clair was trying to come up with a compromise.  Naturally, I have my reasons for not wanting to return to Blackthorn.  Things got heated when I wouldn't agree to her offer.  She upturned a table and threw it at the wall, staining it with the tea that had been sitting on it.  I suggested we take the imminent battle outside, to a quieter, more remote location where nobody would get caught in the crossfire.  That enough detail for you?"

Somewhere far away from all chaos and issues concerning either Dragon Type Gym Leader or near-death due to a run-in with a Pokemon...

(...)

Being the sharp and perceptive little miss that she is, Emily was quick to pick up your slight unease at being idolized, and for a moment looked a tiny bit worried/nervous she was being too overbearing, before your expression turning warmer and more introspective becalmed her. Whew, for a second she thought she had offended you with her eagerness!!! You first responses towards caused the smol artist to blink a couple , before a big, wide, and bright smiled appeared on her face she vigorously nodded her head and said: "Okay, Ms. Mina!!!  (...) Uummmm......but I don't think your room looks dirty and wierd, though. If everything in it is exactly how you like it and where you want it, then how can it be a mess? At least, that's my opinion. If it one, its the most prettiest one I've ever seen, so please don't worry it Miss!"

When you reached over to fondly tussle her hair , Emily happily lets you with the most adorable, heart melting eyes closed smile you've ever darn seen, leaning into you touch as she did so. The little miss' hair had a strange yet nice fluffly, fuzzy, and silken feel to it, almost akin to the feather of a Bird Pokémon. Huh! Your subsequent passionate approval and Momochi dead serious support, though, sent the little miss over the edge, as she couldn't contain the delighted and excited giggles that erupted from her, causing her to roll around and eventually collapsed on your bed with a happy, slightly breathless *Siiiigh*. "Hehehehehehehehe, okay! I'll make my dreams come true, no matter what!! Nothing's gonna stop me from making art that will make EVERYONE happy, or keep me from becoming a super great artist like you Miss Mina!!! I won't disappoint your or Mister, I promise!!!"

Once she had regained her breath and this moment had passed, the odd but adorable girl sat back up and listened to your Artist Origin Story ® (All Great and Inspiring artists have one!) with rapt attention despite how plain and innoculous you made it out to be. After you finished, it took a few minutes for her to come back to reality and think over her what she wanted to say in response, and her tone of voice when she did finally speak up was a mix of awe, fascination, and ponderous feeling. "Your pet Snubble eating your artwork helped you become a world famous artist....? That....that's so amazing, and funny too!!! I guess they were a ruff critic of your early work, huh? Hehehehehe!"

".......You know, I didn't want to be an artist at first," Emily abruptly said, after she had finished laughing herself silly for the second time in so many seconds. " I didn't know what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I liked to doodle in the past, but me becoming an artist? Nope, didn't even think about it! That changed a little when I meet and captured my......Smeargle *A Pained look flash across her face, before it was quickly gone* , though. She painted all sorts of pretty and lovely pictures, and was always eager to show me her work when it was finished. Whatever she created always made happy and curious how she could do it, but I didn't make me want to make art like her."

"One day, though, my class was going on a field trip to art museum, and since Smeargle urged me to after I told her about it, I decided I wanted to go and see what made those paintings so special and good that people made an entire building and made people pay to see them. So I went, and when the art made by you and Mr. Burgh.......it just clicked with me. Suddenly, I could see why my Smeargle and people like you poured so much effort in making paintings and pictures and sculptures and exhibits and lots or other art forms: you wanted to express yourself, to show everyone how you feel about the things, and share it with everyone so that they could experience it too. Artist made their work to be appreciated, not 'cause they wanted to all the Poke in the world or something. After I came home from the trip, I went to Smeargle and asked her teach me how to make pretty paintings like her......and I guess that's when I become an artist myself."

She went quiet after recounting her own Artist Origin Story ® ,  a happy yet.....melancholy smile as she cast her thoughts all those years back. It (the smile) looked rather worn and bittersweet for such a little miss like her to have, but it was hers. Her expression changed to one of faint curiosity as you explained the deviations between Kyubi and Alolan Ninetales, before she nodded her head at your request and went over to retrieve that sketchbook of yours. Emily then casually (yet carefully) released her Porygon on the bed, who briefly startled at the unfamiliar surrounding it was summoned in until its master calmed them down. They got a good look at you and the lucky dragon (who was doing her own discrete analysis of the digiduck, just in case), and tilted their head and made a warbling sound. Looks like they didn't know quite what to make of you or your dragon yet, so the first impression is still yours to make!

The chief Executive could only nod his head in agreement with you concerning your stance with the Elders, and winced a little when you mention how Clair nearly turned the tables and made a right mess of things.

"How.....brutish. I've heard tales of Clair's severe temperament towards those unfortunate enough to earn her ire, but that's........a bit much for someone of her 'esteemed' position. Well, since she's been dispatched by you, we no longer have to worry about her lashing out at all of us, hmm?"

"I do have one last question, before I'll be sastified enough that I can make a complete and accurate report to the Boss Mr. Arendse: Do you happen to know what caused that massive explosion? From our plants in the law enforcement agency and city council, they're treating this another unexplained, freakish disaster that has descended upon the Flower Festival, but have no idea what was the source of it or why it happened in the first place. Your thoughts?"

"...she'd been preparing herself for years to hunt me down.  She has a...special kind of anger saved exclusively for me.  And if I hadn't stopped her, it would have consumed her and probably destroyed a good chunk of Celadon in the process.  The pokemon she brought are THAT strong.  And just as unruly as they are dangerous.  I need to hang on to them due to safety concerns."

...

"Just one of the attacks one of Clair's pokemon launched against me and my pokemon.  Nobody got seriously harmed, thankfully, but it DID send everyone sprawling, including Clair and her pokemon."

...

"I need to speak to Petrel at the soonest opportunity, Archer.  He was looking into something before all this chaos with Clair started, and I need to know what he learned.  If he's not available now, have someone text me when he is.

Archer kept himself expressionless as you bluntly told him would could have been the fate of Celadon City and the Z-Clash, though you could imagine the gears in his head churning as he proceeded  this not so little tidbit. In the end, the sharply dress man only nodded his head.

"Well put, Mr. Arendse. I don't believe the Boss would have objected in hanging onto Clair's dragons for awhile to 'break them in' to the Team Rocket lifestyle, but now he has more than sufficient reason for you to keep them as a safekeeping measure until a method is found to fully pacify them. So conclude your report, unless you have anything else you might add that might be of relevant interest to Team Rocket?"

The chief Executire once more raised his eyebrow at you request, as if he just remembered something thanks to your prompting.

"Investigating something , is he now? So that was the reason he request a day off for 'private but non-Rocket activites' , and burden Proton with his workload. That solves the mystery, I suppose. I find myself curious now what has caused him to drop everything to focus his undivided attention on it, but I'll refrain from bothering you with the details. Petrel....doesn't appreciate when people poke into his business, so I'll just inform him to call you for a meeting as soon as he's done. Hopefully it won't take too long and keep him from his responsibilities....."

He let out a *Sigh* as he said this, as your buddy's tendency to ignore his tasks and/or vanish off to do......things is well known by all of Team Rocket by now (Even Giovanni doesn't know all he's up to!), much to their resigned aggrevation. Why couldn't that man just do his given tasks without giving everyone a headache in the process.....?
