[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
(02-23-2018, 02:46 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: Nathan scoops up the pearl and deposits it in his bag, then scoops up Ralts and gently hugs him.  "Thank you for always trying your best, buddy..."

Then he looks at Valder.  "Don't go anywhere.  I need to speak with you about some stuff when we get back to the GPC."

Next on the list...speaking to the birthday party's host...birthday party...why is that thought bothering him?  Hmmm...well, Swiftfire's is coming up...but no, that's not quite it...eh, probably doesn't matter right now.  Anyways...back to talking to the parent!

"Sorry about the webs, sir.  Need me to help clean them up?  And how was the battle?  Did we overdo it, or...?"

Valder suggests a 'Ghost Five' to Haunter, considering they do have hands. "Good work". He calls Haunter back and puts the ball in his pocket. He looks down at his pocket weirdly and a question mark appears on his face.
Then he thinks about other things and faces Nathan, "Thanks for the battle. But what stuff?" He gets nervous when people want to inquire. That and he doesn't know what GPC means. Cops maybe?

Valder will head to a center as soon as he can to heal. When he does he'll tell Theo how awesome he was to defy the opponent in such an overpowering way. Blush
(all the xp has been given to Mamo). Valder will also congratulate Frogadier on his development, and, when there's space around he'll give Mamo a tempature fitting hug.

(Coincidentally, the GPC is the Grand Pokemon Center.)

Nathan smiles.

"As someone whose first pokemon was a Ralts, I think it is an excellent choice.  Really hard to find since they dislike conflict, but they're great friends.  Take good care of them and make them happy, and they'll be the most loyal companions you could possibly ever have."

"Though if I may make another suggestion, I think Ponyta isn't a bad pick either, so long as you don't get on their nerves enough to burn ya on contact.  Forgive the business plug, but Warren Ranch always has a few looking for a home, and they're generally well mannered.  Just tell Marta that Nathan sent ya if you want to explore that a little.  Not something I normally suggest, but I think I can make an exception this time.  I actually started my journey with both Ralts and a Ponyta that's since evolved into Rapidash, and I think it's been a great experience for us all.  I actually have Swiftfire on me right now, in fact, so I could show her to Timmy as well real quick before I head out if ya like.  Might help him decide if he might like to have a Ponyta or a Ralts or maybe explore other options."

"...speaking of other options, you could always check the Shelter for Disobedient pokemon as well.  Not all the pokemon and pokemon eggs they carry there actually start out highly disobedient, so it might also be worth checking.  No Ralts nor Ponyta there, though. It can also get a bit pricey depending on the pokemon or egg, but I think the cost can easily be well worth it."

"...those are just my suggestions, though. I think Timmy's opinion is probably what will matter most here, since it is going to be his pokemon and all when he gets it."

"...oh, and if you decide to go with a Ralts, it might be a good idea to get them a year or two before any kind of journey or serious battles. They're kinda difficult to raise to start with since they only know Growl at first when freshly hatched, but the extra time helps them bond and grow stronger. I've had mine for a little over a year now, but we only started our journey almost two months ago."

"Nothing to worry about.  Just need to update you on something important.  GPC is short for Grand Pokemon Center, by the way."

Even KOed, Ralts is still super sensitive to emotional changes around him.  Tongue

The weather is clear in eastern Creshire! And just a little chilly - which is perfect for those crisp clear nights.

(Of course she doesn't know that, lolz! All a Nurse Joy has told her once is that back then Pokemon Battles would probably be illegal, gruesome and often to death, somewhat I connected this with no Healing Machines.)

Hours have passed like minutes during all that buying of healing items, finding a pleasant spot to calm down, typing of message, feeding Nightshade and watching her consume all the sugar and nutrients, so relatively soon Shiva picked up Helios and Marill from Nurse Joy again. It was a slight pity that she had to place sweet Marill and Nightshade onto Bill's PC to have room for her Kadabra and Tropius, but such was the matter of it...

Once she has given Potts a call that she'll be on her way then as well as - EDIT! "I'm sorry that I have to come back to it, but...well, eh, it'd be helpful if I could indeed borrow one of your stellarcharts as well. Please! I know I said I have a few, partly selfdrawn, but checking on them I figured they all depict the Unovian nightsky. But the stars in Chreshire's nightsky are unique and different, so much I know!" Maybe this added a lot of excitment - it probably did. But how could she forget that in the first place?!

It was indeed no problem for Tropius to fly Shiva up to the top of Vapor Falls, even with the additional load the burrowed telescope was. If it's a refractor type mostly used to view the moon and planets/stars, she knows how to set it up and adjust it for a good view. But before she'd get to that at all, all of her current Pokemon on hand are summoned to be present this night:
- Cottonee is self-explaining, it's her dearest companion and will probably take the same role Spectral had and has: Accompanying Shiva to the stargazing trips because they'll follow her wherever she goes.
- Tropius because she used him to fly up to Vapor Falls, will need him to get down and arrive at Pott's place quickly to give telescope + starchart back.
- Braixen is a future Psychic Type that will be able to see the future in his burning tip of stick, said burning stick can also provide some light to the scene.
- Helios and Kyuu mostly because they're Psychic Types, Types she enjoys to have around her currently.
- Her main focus for this scene however.....
....is elusive Gothitelle.

Before Shiva even adjusts one thing on the telescope, before she even looks through it, before she actually does ANYTHING, she herself looks up to the nightsky - what could be seen with the bare eye?

(Oh, she's also wearing that Ranger's Cloak since it'll be a little chilly - means her current Vitality is locked to 3.)

His brother's happy agreement brought out a equally delighted smile from Ventus, as he returned their nod with one of his own. "Thank you, Lucifer. I deeply appreciate it, and I hope you too will share the same feelings as I once we've completed the ritual," the empath responded with in his typically happy/serene tone of voice, before he down the bowl of Yellow Apricorn dust on the table, and with both hands gently plucked his tiny drake off his shoulders and placed right beside it (the bowl), earning him a bit of a startled reaction from them as he never handled them like that before!

Once placed on the table, he hopped back and forth in place a bit to re-adjust his balance to the flat top, before looking up at his master as they pick up the bowl once more, giving them a curious but eager *Screech* as they fluttered his wings. He's ready to begin this funny Bonding Ritual, and become closer to master than ever before, *Screech!*

Such playful reactions earned them a fond look and chuckle from the sociologist, as he slowly and carefully dipped his fingers into the dust to collect the first pinch, feeling the course, dusty texture as he mentally rehersed his poem that spanned his entire relationship with his brother. "Eager as ever, I see! Well, I best not keep us waiting in suspense any longer, hmm? Let us begin The Bonding Ritual......"

With that said, Ven pulled his fingers from the bowl of Apricorn dust and with utmost grace, delicacy, and solumenity began to sprinkle it over Lucifer, intoning his poem as he did so.....

"Let us this good day
Re-affirm our happy times
Creating many more

Pledging ourselves to each other
Becoming closer
And strengthen our joyful bond......

.....

In the town of trees
Our paths crossed that fateful day
Pokémon researcher and gold loving drake

We meet playfully
You curious and cheerful
Me fully enthused

Together, we were happy
So we forged a bond
And thus became family

Thus our grand tale started.

We have journied through Cheshire
Myriad things done
Fighting, Exploring, Treasure Hunting
And plenty more!

Raiding an underground base
Facing Zubat Swarms
Tearing into them with a fury
Helping save us all

Discovering artifacts
Braving the rough Great Divide
Endured its riggors
Surviving Beartic's cold

Most dangerous......but worthwhile.

Huge feats accomplished
Exciting, never a bore
Grown strong from it all

Becoming true brothers
Fierce and playful, like the wind
Sweeping through the land

....

I love you Lucifer
With all my heart and soul....."

....

"Do you feel the same?"

(I'm going to go ahead and skip to the GPC entrance now while waiting on any potential responses concerning Timmy's eventual first pokemon.  Also, the thing with updating Valder will be handled via PM, so as not to clutter the thread with a drawn out flashback.  He'll be caught up on the Genesect situation afterwards for sure.  If Ventus and/or Shiva wish to react to Nathan's entrance, feel free to do so at some point.  I'm willing to flashback to this scene again if necessary.  So, without further ado...)

Nathan walks into the GPC's lobby and heads over to Nurse Joy's counter.  Deposits Grid, Solomon, and Ditto for healing.  Any of the party members present in the lobby at this time will notice there's no Kirlia to be found.  Instead, there's an unconscious Ralts that Nathan's gently and affectionately holding in his arms.  How odd...

Anyone listening carefully might also hear this being said to Nurse Joy:  "...no, I'll hang on to him for tonight.  I want to be there when he wakes up.  First time he's fainted in over a year, so I want to personally make sure he's okay."

Heart when taking notes in his journal, could see Nathan enter the GPC. This wouldnt make him look up from his journal, but then he see him holding a Ralts a little familiar. This was enough to make Heart raise a eyebrown. "What? I tough Ralts was rare in Cheshire, and Nathan already have a Kirlia. I think..." Heart raise a chin. "Is he trying to find a couple to evolve? Hmm...but this kinda a good opportunity I guess."

Then Heart Viktor Pokeball. The little ghost tree come close to his master and hug Heart head. "Haha, thanks Viktor. I have a special mission to you." Then Heart take a letter and show to Phantump. "This a letter I would like to you to deliver to Nathan. Since me and Nathan dont get along very much to each other, I need your help to deliver to him since you have a better hang out with him. Could you give to him?" (Insert Viktor reaction here) After that Viktor take the letter and levitate in the direction of Nathan. He wave his tiny hand to greet him (You can make your reaction and reaction of Ralts here @Dragonstrike). Inside tje letter there was a message and some notes Heart make.

"Howdy. I remember you was curious about the subject of Delta Pokemon Nathan, and since myself have a certain close experience with that I made a copy about some notes and drawings of Deltamons I have meet during my travels in certain regions. I dont know if you interest, but I give to you anyway since you are problably one of the few people of the party of dont see as negative way the Delta Pokemon. Maybe this notes about the notes help you somehow in training of Orthros (since Heart already have see Orthros during they first pokemon battle) or not. And because I like to share some information. If you have questions, you can send Kirlia or another pokemon to send a message about that questions. Or you can ask yourself. The choice is yours. Assigh: ArcHeart. PS: I have add a more recently notes about the last deltamon. You might find interesting to show to Kirlia. Lets just say he might feel...Inspired."

Then along with the message theres a copy of the last few pages of Heart journal, regardless about the Deltamons (Its a copy of Heart post about the Deltamons expect the last one).

"That'd be great, if Timmy and his friends could ride your Ponyta!"

'Ponyta' is loyal enough that she would let kids ride her without harm if Nathan commanded it.

Yeah, sure, why not?  Nathan has a strong urge to correct the error in what pokemon species Swiftfire is...but just quietly sighs and tries to let it go instead...it's not doing any harm right now...besides, his mom will give 'em an earful of an education on THAT topic if it's brought up again in front of her.  Not the first time someone's mistaken a Rapidash for a Ponyta...

Not exactly Swiftfire's idea of fun, but fine, she'll do it...

Lucifer instinctively grabs Ventus' finger as it passes overhead with the final sprinkles of powder. There is a mild flash of light, somewhat similar to the light of a Pokeball coughing up a Pokemon, but dull and ineffective. Ventus' empathy picks up the jolting feeling of a tangible bond between Lucifer and Ventus. It fills both of you with happiness and loyalty to each other. Your ability to pick up each others' thoughts is permanently heightened - and you notice that Lucifer is not even thinking about gold or apples right now. He's thinking about his brother, Ventus Zachariah. In the bat's mind, you're like a big older brother bat Pokemon with no wings.

The ritual complete, Noibat sneezes and leaps to your shoulder for an uncharacteristically warm cuddle. Since Noibat partook of the ritual voluntarily, he gains +1 Happiness and +1 Loyalty. The negative effects of trading him away from Ventus are doubled. Ventus can feel Noibat's will hardening, resolving not to be separated or turned against his brother in any way. A support move targeting Noibat will have a much lesser effect on Ventus, good or bad: usually about 3:1 dice. For example, if Noibat somehow used Belly Drum, Noibat would gain 3 Strength and Ventus would gain 1.

For the next couple hours, Noibat wants to stay out of his ball, and he does a little wriggling happy dance the whole time whenever he thinks about the oath Ventus made.

Ventus also gets 1XP for the great poem! That really feels like Mamo style.
