[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins
K, @Iron, now with the Magnemites hatched from their Eggs and gemstone-discussion wrapped up, it seems like a fitting time to ask for your ruling and thoughts on something that I've been wondering for some time now but held back so far. Let's see...

1. Concerns Ally Switch on my Kabrabra, a move I've been somewhat looking forward to have. You already hinted to me once that this move can be used outside of battle to have Helios switch places with something like a Pokemon up on a hill, sounds very useful when there's something Shiva wants to obtain that is out of her range. But what about using this move in battle, does it really allow me to switch Helios with a different Pokemon in the middle of the Round, since that's what I understand from the description in Corebook?

2. I still have that Pineco I caught, missed to offer it when trading Beartic away, but I'll just keep it now because I like the moves it has and maybe it worth it having a Pokemon that can blow itself up with Selfdestruct if huge boulders or similar are blocking the path, clearing the trail this way. It doesn't like Shiva, she doesn't either, but it isn't disobediant. However, Pineco has Study Ability, which allows it to not faint the first time it would faint, which it does by using Selfdestruct. But if Sturdy has not yet been 'activated', would it survive with 1hp or faint regardless?

But it felt very in-chara for Heart in my view, and he expressed outta chara that he's tired of things. Plus, it's pretty late in-game, after midnight, and there's departure from Stair City planned when the morning dawns.

Maybe.  But it doesn't solve anything.

Besides, Nathan had to say what he did at some point.

Sturdy is fine!

Another fellow night owl, I see! Well, I happy to see you no matter the time of day, so I all can say is cheers, mate!

Thanks! Now, Dagney did mention Mt. Molten as a prime choice to evolve Magnemite, but will the little thing be able to lead him to a spot that can actually preform the job?

Yes, all it takes is a magnetic field of large enough size. Any magnetically sensitive Pokemon could do it.

The way this is worded, it works like a non-damaging Volt Switch. You could switch in the middle of the Round, but your new Pokemon wouldn't be able to receive any orders until a new Round begins. I should probably rule that the opponent can't make any new orders either, so this would be a good way to bring in a Pokemon with Flash Fire or something to receive a fire attack.

I'll also let you use it to switch places with an ally Pokemon who's already in battle, for purposes of taking cover or whatever.

Selfdestruct is going to bypass Sturdy just going by common sense. As an expensive Surprise you could change that though. Pretty niche.

Spirit.  I said Nathan was going to bring this up previously, that he wasn't going to sideline it if it wasn't mitigated somehow.

*does her best to ignore yet another near-meltdown* I won't post a thing in GameThread until Windos comes by, as I'm somewhat waiting for his reactions and decisions.

Alright, thanks for answering my questions, Iron, I'll papernote it as usual. Hmm, none of my Pokemon so far has Flash Fire specifically, but Vaporeon can be brought into an expected Water Type move, Tropius into a Ground Type move, Yena into a Psychic Type move etc. ...a useful move if played correctly, I guess.

Eh, nope, I'm not really feeling like training Pineco until he has accumulated enough XP to not faint when he uses Selfdestruct, so I'm fine to agree with the common sense ruling.

Hmm... @Spiritmon, would you actually be down to take at least Shiva (Ven can of course join if he wants to evolve his Magnemite too) to the place you trained Tynamo at during our way through Mt.Sentry to Cress City? I'd be happy to evolve freshly hatched Magnemite into a Magneton right away, as GM confirmed there that this is doable at this spot. Maybe as a second Encounter? Please let me know, as your answer determines whether I'll put Magnemite onto Bill's PC before we departure or not.
