Sorry for about that, mate..... I just wanted to convey how badly Memento messed Ventus up, and I suppose I went overboard with it. I hope to hell Nathan didn't/doesn't hear him scream, though, or that will make things.....awkward.

Windos, you're wondering whether Nathan has heard your screaming... I guess it's slightly more imortant that Shiva remained within earshot, but I guess she won't openly comment if Ven expresses not wanting to speak - she'll just be concerned and stick even closer to him.

Windos, you're wondering whether Nathan has heard your screaming... I guess it's slightly more imortant that Shiva remained within earshot, but I guess she won't openly comment if Ven expresses not wanting to speak - she'll just be concerned and stick even closer to him.

Apsis will be with him at all times for awhile as he slowly recovers from this, and he'll likely add Raphael to the Pokémon that's out with him by the next encounter. Not so fun having your mind/souled being ****** and having the caustic lye + gasoline and spark that Pure Hopelessness inflicted upon you, especially if you have enough demons to populate a smaller circle of hell within you....

Ventus would appreciate the company, but he wouldn't be at ALL willing to talk about what happened. You can decide whether or not Shiva hears the screaming, though, so make of that what you will. Of course, with Apsis around your character will have to overcome her fear of Poison types to get even remotely close to Ventus, and the regal snake is going to be VERY defensive/protective over her master due to being ************ by the now deceased Chandelure.

Shame, I wanted to capture it, but Ventus sure as hell wouldn't want it any other way that dead.

I don't know exactly how much farther along Nathan is or how good the acoustics in the cave might be, so whether Nathan heard all that is debatable...

...but I think it's reasonable that he definitely FELT that, given how powerful those emotions were and how closely bonded he is with Ralts...

Hey, its entirely your choice to ruin Nathan + Ralts good mood and cheer, since OOC wise you could have just ignored it and let Ven cover it up the best he could before returning to the party. I may have written that reaction, but it was clearly only meant to be his own, and not share/force it on others.

In fact, I wanna ask something @Iron: Could Nathan and Ralts actually feel and pick up that emotional outburst from the current distance they were at, and if so would they have felt it at THAT level of intensity? The reason I ask is pretty simple: if its a no, I don't want either Nathan or Ralts good mood ruined because Ventus decided to be gung ho in dealing with a potential threat IC. If its a yes, I still don't want Ven's near Witchout affecting Nathan or the rest of the party all too much since the group has reasons enough to worry and panic over the problems they already have without being burdened with his own.

Point is, if its at all possible, could you intervene or moderate the fallout of that scene, so that not everyone else in the group ends up depressed/miserable because of it? Memento is only supposed to be single target and non-infectious, not a Spread Attack Plague!

For reference, I'm kinda treating it as something similar to what happened with the fortune teller back in Ginger Town.  Except more intense.  FAR more intense...

I'll get to type something up now, I hope you and Ven will like it! Can you wait until further posting in GameThread concerning the Chandelure until then please? That's a good moment for Shiva's desire to be there for Ven being stronger than the fear of his Arbok.

True, I don't want some good mood within the party being ruined now because of how Ventus' Encounter took an (how I think) interesting and dramatic turn, good call here Iron! Neither do I think it'd be that fair if Ven in-chara would be asked questions now or have to reason himself (by none), actually. Going mad when he or those he cares for are threatened is a trait of him, it's that simple?

Also, now I'm actually a tad bit relieved that 1. I haven't joined the Chandelure Encounter although I've been pondering about it and 2. Shiva has not, by Reshiram's holy name, taken on the Chandelure Encounter alone. If she'd be plaqued with Memento, + she's low on Willpower ( = at 1 Point) and frightened by the sight of the Ghost Type anyway, she...

...would likely give in to the hopelesness felt, fall into despair right on the spot as her depressive issues get intense, and continue the trip through Mount Sentry with a self-inflicted -2 Pain from cutting herself to feel again.

Eh... That wouldn't be appropriate for the campaign though, I think.
