[Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins

My campaign has special rules for HMs, but if you somehow obtain one through the movelist, it will just follow the move's normal description in the rulebook. It's also possible for a Pokemon to inherit a weaker version of an HM move from a parent or mutation.

You know, I really want to get started on the next day so that Ven can get started with his own plans/business today, and so that Heart can look around and maybe find someone that can cut his Sableye Garnet/Nathan and Shiva can do what they need to do!

I think we're indeed ready for that, since half of your characters are asleep and Shiva can flashback.

Let me wrap up my encounter with Professor Mallorn and that weird package first if possible, please... Feels too important to leave it standing. Dinner's in the oven now, in half an hour or such I can actually reply.

Out of curiosity, I decided to just list all the pokemon that could potentially learn these weaker Hms somehow, just based on the data in the games.

The aforementioned list

Cut: Kartana's the only pokemon that learns Cut through level up, making it its signature move in gen 7.  Lol.

Fly: Salamence, Rayquaza, and...Drampa(?!) all learn it through level.  At rather high levels, to boot. There's also technically Balloon Pikachu, I guess...

Surf: HM/TM only in ALL of its appearances.  Surf's quite special, it seems. Pikachu on Surfboards are fun too on the off chance they show up.

Strength: Machamp's signature move in Gen 7, learned upon evolving!  (and thus, all Machamp are pokeride candidates in Alola because they're the only ones with access to the move there)

Flash: Volbeat, Morelull, and Shiinotic get it at very low levels!  Though considering Illuminate or a well trained light emitting pokemon can probably do what a weakened Flash could anyways...

Whirlpool: Lots of pokemon learn this one since it didn't have a tutor for it in gen 4, unlike Dive.  Shellder, Mudkip, Wailmer line, Clamperl line, Piplup line, Buizel line, Finneon line, Manaphy and Phione, Alomomola, Dhelmise (the only non-water type not named Smeargle that can use it without the HM), and Tapu Fini get it through level.  Lapras, Omanyte, Chinchou, Barboach, Basculin, Tirtouga, and Wishiwashi (USM only) can potentially get it as an egg move.

Waterfall: Goldeen and Seakings' signature move since Gen 1!

Rock Smash: Sawk, Pikipek line, Crabrawler line, Passimian, and Golisopod.  Level up stuff.

Dive: Level up for the Seel line, Wailmer line, Huntail and Gorebyss, Relicanth, Phione and Manaphy, and Wishiwashi.  (Carvanha likely has it listed as ? thanks to that gen 4 tutor.  Sharpedo are also known for being some of the fastest Surfers around, courtesy of gens 6 and 7, which is another interesting thing to note)

Defog: Ducklett line, Rufflet line, Vullaby line, Tapu Fini, and Kartana get it through level.  Can also be bred onto...Pidgey, Zubat, Scyther, Hoothoot, Seedot, Tailow, Drifloon, Chatot, Archen, Rowlet, and Fomantis.

Rock Climb: Venipede line, Scraggy line, Ferrothorn, Druddigon, Rockruff line.  Breedable for Sandshrew, Geodude (Kantonian and Alolan), Onix, Rhyhorn, Gligar, Zigzagoon, Bidoof, Gible, Drilbur, Sandile, Joltik, Ferroseed (doesn't get it through level, unlike its evo), Bouffalont, and Durant.

Hey Iron, is there any place in Cress that sells Honey or sweet fruit? I plan on adding Lilith to the party soon, and I need to fulfill my promise of sweet treats in exchange for their help in summoning Primal Alteria! That, and to simply engraciate the birdpent even more to my oddball researcher!

Sweet fruit, yes. Honey, no. Prices for the fruit will work like apples, which I didn't write down but must be in the thread or in PMs somewhere.

Meeting up with Bill and asking him about the mechanics of the Pokemon Storage System feels like a good opportunity to give Shiva the first of maybe three points in customized PC Science Speciality, @Iron, I doubt he'd give her an insight on hacking though, would he? Maybe something like how to program a Box, how to maintain it and such would be more natural so that it wouldn't be simply theoretical knowledge/listening and replying for her but also a bit of practical experience C: Possible?

Oh, and please calm down everyone, Shiva would tell the others about both him and Professor Mallorn in town in the morning of the next in-game Day in Lobby, if everyone doesn't run away right away (I'd like to have her open that package first before she'd pick up her injured Pokemon, then meet the others). The earliest she would actually go to meet him would be the evening of that Day, as until then exploring the city and everything was what she wants to do. Your people's call, can be done when everyone is free.

When did Ven want to secret-return to Mount Sentry for revenge on Chandelure again and how many Encounter Slots will it take?

Last time I checked it costed 140-150 Poke, so I guess I can shop around for that!

Wow, the occult bazaar has all sorts of neat stuff, though any of the Items that require a dice roll to function is a big no no for me. The dice screw me and everyone else over enough as is, and I'm not going to buy the chance for them to do even more harm! Ven probably wouldn't go within a mile of the place unless he knew it had something he couldn't elsewhere, and he'd be pretty grouchy about it.......

Ventus is not going to linger around in the morning, as he has place to be and plans to enact, but he'll receive any text messages you send him. Remember, he's not that personable at the moment, and rather he'd be alone for the most part unless given a good enough reason not to be. Ven should be free in the evening, though!

It will be at least a day before Ventus is ready to go after Chandelure, as he has plans and prep work that needs to be done in order to ensure that the next time he goes after it will be the LAST......
