[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
(Sweet. 2 for 2, now. Awesome. What was that you said about working on Solomon's disobedience, Heart? ;P )

Nothing. Absolutely nothing that Nathan couldn't have learned elsewhere. Just a shameless plug from Almanac saying how great they are, not what they really do and how they established themselves in Creshire.

For something so great, you'd think that employment percentage would be higher.

This does nothing to improve their image in Nathan's eyes. Thank goodness this was a short visit. Nathan can't blame everyone for being uninterested. Nothing of any note here besides how purposely dull everything is.

--------------------------------

Seeing Furret getting so excited gives Nathan an idea. "Maybe we can take a trip to the Clay Pit at a later point, Furret. Or maybe the Gem Mine. Maybe both. Could probably stop by the Candelabra again, too, if we swing by the gem mine...sounds like it might be a fun day to me. But we should wait for the egg to hatch first, I think, before we consider traveling too far from Cress."

--------------------------------

Well, ironic that he shares the name of the legendary Champion of Kanto's Pallete Town. Which member was he again? 3, or 4? Hmmmm...Nathan can't quite remember right now...he obviously knows the first two well enough, considering they're in the Elite 4 related media aaaallll the time...

...

...he wonders if his dad could have potentially made this list, to be honest...probably would have, if Hayes and Latias hadn't proven to be too much for him to handle...

...on a lighter note, it's always GREAT to see Keni Morgusi's name. Heh, what a guy...heck, there's probably something relating to him in the art exhibit, now that Nathan thinks about it...

-------------------------------

Ah, the Skull Ruins. The dread place that nobody, and I mean nobody, enters unless they wish to experience something life changing...or ending. Could go either way, really.

Five levels of depth...literally thousands of ghosts, pokemon and supposedly actual spirits alike...treasure galore if anyone ever gains the bravery and skill to power through the most horrible experiences in Creshire imaginable...

'Ere man descends to layer four...I should mention this to Solom...'

That train of thought is interrupted by a *bam*!

Followed by another one!

"Whoa whoa whoa, Solomon, calm down. What's the matter?"

A point and a head shake later, and it's obvious to Nathan and Ralts that there's something up with the stuff concerning Landorus and the Royal Trio.

"Hmmm...what part of that passage specifically is bothering you, Solomon?"

Heart vs Shiva Round 4

Slight panic awoke within Shiva, which was visible in how she gave orders to her Pokemon in a slighly more hasty manner. Kyuu, being a Psychic Type controlling immense psychic power, must have somewhat picked this up as he charged forward immediately, ready to outright SLAP that flaming monkey before giving them ALL  a GLARE.

Mach Punch 1
(6)(6)(2)(2)(1)
(4)(2)(4) Kyuu takes 1 dmg and is forced to retreat from the battle. Brilliant use of priority.
Meowstic is seething as he leaves the field.

Dragon Dance 1
(1)(2) Koa makes a misstep and waits the rush of power to no avail.

Psyshock 1
(4)(2)(6)(6)(3)(3)
(5)(1)(4) Rose takes 3 dmg 5/8hp -1 pain. The monkey is slammed back by the force of the psychic attack.

Dual Chop 2 and 3
(3)(4)(4)
(4)(6) 2 hits.
6 dice without DD = 2d6 dmg each
(5)(6)
(1)(5) Braixen takes 3 dmg  4/8hp -2 pain.

Braixen's fires blaze up almost to their fullest! Just short of that white-hot incandescence when he's on his last legs.

Close Combat 2
(2)(2)(5)
10d6 with black belt! = 6d6, better hold back. This move is really a bit too strong for a no-faint battle.
(5)(1)(5)(5)(6)(3) Braixen takes 2 dmg 2/8hp -2 pain.

Ember 2 on Infernape, who is only dodging psychic attacks.
(1)(4)(3)
Also 10d6 with blaze! 11d6 with CC debuff = 8d6-1, only near-max damage will faint so I'm guessing you won't hold back.
(6)(2)(3)(1)(5)(5)(3) Infernape takes 2 dmg 3/8hp -2 pain.

Infernape is struggling to move this quickly while in such pain. But Braixen could go down to any hit!
Mach Punch 3
(4), held back
(4)(2)(5) Braixen is out of the battle too.

E4 battles are cloaked in secrecy and are not in a 100% set order (it changes year to year), but Nathan has heard of Merle, the infamous dragon-taming E4 member who has stopped many a challenge.
And losing to the Champion is pretty much traditional at this point. You still get max honors in the Hall of Fame even if you lose to him.

Solomon gestures angrily at the whole thing!

(@PhantomUnderYourDesk, whenever yor ready for the violet tent stuff...)

Nathan's waiting outside the entrance, looking very, very relaxed. Ralts looks happy, Grid's out and about (and covering a veeerrry smooth stone in golden, sticky threads), 'his' Furret's bein' a Furret...

...oh, and there's an Emolga sitting on Nathan's shoulder, happily chittering away. Nathan laughs as Grid looks up, slightly jealous of the flying squirrel. That used to be HIS spot, you know!

It's all in good fun, though.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Museum, Part 2!
Well, interesting to see what the current status of known HMs is...he knows his dad's Skarmory can Fly, but it certainly can't FLY from what he remembers. That's the kind of flight that makes most any Flying type capable of lifting most anything, if Nathan remembers correctly...
...shame Rock Smash had to be the one they busted. Why couldn't they have busted Fla...oh, right. they probably weren't in posession of it at that time...
Well, Furret's reaction is semi-distracting. "Hey, it's not to say Carvanha and Sharpedo are used exclusively for that purpose, Furret. They're just frequently used for that because they do it so much better than many other pokemon. That's all. They're actually good at a lot of other things, too. Besides, people raise pokemon for different reasons, raise them in different ways. Pokemon too. I'm still gonna ask that we work together with raising Carvanha when its egg hatches. You're doing a wonderful job with Forthright so far. She's really grown to like you, ya know, and it's only been 2 days so far."
Solomon's interest doesn't surprise Nathan. He seems to know much that few alive in this day and age do, after all...
Ralts's reaction is surprising, though. Nathan doesn't comment, but he can understand what Ralts might be thinking...it's only a replica, but even that has a sort of...aura of power to it since it's unlike anything else they've seen so far...
--------------------------------
Hmmmm...so it talks about why Deyo Flowers grow and what the meteorites do to the environment around them...
...that's probably not why Ralts is so interested in them.
That part about 'varying effects', though...what kinds of effects? Nathan might have to look into this if the exhibit doesn't specify.
Reply
The exhibit has just a tiny bit of detail. Effects like who is drawn to them, what side effects the meds have, little things like that. Everything in the Museum is set up with the layman in mind.
Back here in the heart of the exhibits, Nathan also sees the new "Tomb of the King" exhibit, which contains replicas of the sarcophagi of Sarimanok and his line. Sarimanok purchased debt to create a caste of indentured servants who worked on his great works, like the Palace.
Oh, right, THAT'S the dragon tamer's name! Man, that's a hard one to remember for some reason...well, the lack of publicity for 2 of the members certainly doesn't help...
...though Red's probably arguably far more mysterious. There's almost no information out there on that particular member of the E4 that Nathan could find, even by their standards. Their Cress City origin is news to Nathan for sure.
--------------------------
Wow. Okay, so...
"...they've got what happened wrong entirely, then? Hmmm...well, admittedly, most of it is guesswork and assumptions based on what little we think we know..."
...
"...why don't you spend some time later telling me your thoughts on it? Not here, no, this isn't a suitable location or time at all...we'll need lots of time and privacy to do what I have in mind...spelling out what you want to say, letter by letter. Maybe sometime tomorrow. I'm definitely interested in hearing some of your thoughts. Sound good, Solomon? It'd be faster if you could write with pen and paper yourself, though...I might have to look into a way to help you with that...get suitable writing utensils for you and give you time to practice if need be and such..."
-----------------------------
Hmmm...still not convinced Ralts is interested in them because of some cosmic event. That focus is too...intense, to put it midly.
The flowers mean something to Ralts personally. Nathan's just not sure what that might exactly entail...
Well, those 'Tomb of the King' artifacts/displays look kinda cool. Let's investigate further!
It wasn't only her Meowstic who was seething as he trotted back to his owner after he had to take a Mach Punch from that flaming monkey only a second before he wanted to slap him with his paws (with sharp claws drawn), somewhat completely catching him off-guard - Shiva herself was somewhat put on edge by that crossing of her plan, so when she kneed down to welcome Kyuu back on eye-level and stroke his cheek in apology and comfort before she'd withdraw him, she couldn't help but to give Heart the GLARE that her Pokemon failed to give him. Kyuu joined in this and crowned it with a sharp hiss for Infernape - he, a noble Psychic Type, defeated by the fists of Fighting Type, that just CALLS for revenge! Of course Shiva doesn't mean it personally to Heart, anyone who'd catch her with an unexpected turn in a battle - or simply corners her - could have received such a reaction from her despite her usual sweet and calm temper.
When she got up again, she tossed another Pokeball containg a Pokemon Heart has already seem - small Spritzee, who immediately floated the surrounding in a pleasant scent. This smell of lilacs and freshly cut grass did a fine job soothing Shiva's nerves, banning the instant anger into a far corner within herself while she took another deep whiff of it.
Now, she was also capable of actually soft-praising Heart for what he did. "W...Well done, Heart, defeating my Psychic Cat although I've been sure he would have given Inf- Rose a taste of his powers  before he's been forced out. Now then... let us move on then, shall we...?" In her voice when she spoke that out, was a clear hint of discouragement if paying attention as if it has lost a small portion of its softness - sure, she had her fairy and her last Pokemon with the hope of turning this friendly battle around once more, but she felt like things would have looked different if she'd made other choices for Pokemon to bring in, and Heart still has a batch of Pokemon clearly pained but capable of doing one last call.
Shiva stays at the Pagoda until the whole battle between Vaporeon and Furfrou has ended, enjoying the tea sample and clapping to the winner of this graceful matchup. Rather soon, she noticed how different her Vaporeon was from the Kimonogirl's one - this one had a swiftness and pictorial representation that her waterly Eeveelution can only dream of, in return hers had a mischievous playfulness despite being an adult Pokemon that the Vaporeon on 'stage' was lacking - it was a trait Shiva was enjoying on her Vaporeon.
Eventually though, as the viewers made their way to their own business again, Shiva followed as one of the last people who left the Pagoda alongside her fae rabbit, starring up to the sky occassionaly in silent pondering and anticipitation. Once she has reached the Center, she thankfully accepted back all her Pokemon that have been healed up by Nurse Joy, not knowing what she'd do without the Healing Machines. At the neaby PC, she switched around in her party once again until she was satisfyed with her choice of Pokemon on hand, before she'd make her way to the Violet Tent again alongside the same Pokemon she visited this precious place yesterday. (Means, Lilith, leader-Furret and Cottonee trotting of floating beside her). That Druddigon is also on her hand now. That nasty dragon - Shiva took one look at the Great Ball he was contained in, then packed it away in a silent huffing noise. She just wanted to get rid of it. (Not in that way Ventus would though, lolz)
Even from afar she already spotted Nathan neatly waiting for her already at the entrance of the Violet Tent, it was easy for her to pick up his relaxed and somewhat happy state. It wonders her a litte which was expressed by a tilted head into his direction, but very soon this confusion faded and she just felt well that he was able to be in such a positive mood.  That EMOLGA on his shoulder though caught her somewhat off-guard, as she well knows that these flying squirrels are already rare home in Unova, she wouldn't have expected to see one in Chreshire, least of all in the ownership of one of the members of the traveling group. As soon as she was within its range, Shiva couldn't help but to gently offer a pirsif berry cookie from her stock to it, accompanied by a softspoken "Such a cutie!~ I won't even ASK where and how you got that one, Nathan but congrats that you did! Now then, uhm, give me a moment please..." *rummaging sounds as she searches for something in backpack* "You also wanted to ask me  s.....something, right? What is it, you want to tell me while I'll pin this up?" Eventually, Shiva has found what she was looking for, and attatched it somewhere near the entrance of Violet Tent, either directly at the fabric of tent or a signpost showing its opening times.
Turned out to be a trade request she has prepared. It reads as following:
Quote:Hi! I'm not quite sure whether this is the correct way, but I saw how Pokemon are sold here, causing me wanting to try my luck as well.
[Image: druddigon_by_xous54-d3fozdv.png]Thing is, I have a Druddigon not to sell, but to trade. I've caught it inside Mount Sentry after a Furret hinted me into its direction, before I came and dealt with it is was a predator of these furry Pokemon. Now, I hope that the Furret can continue their lives without in fear of it.
It's a male exemplar contained in a Great Ball, having Rough Skin Ability and knowing Bite, Scratch, Leer, Chip Away, Superpower, Dragon Rage + Claw, Hone Claws, Scary Face and dangerous Crunch and Slash. He's rather disobediant and gets agressive relatively easily, so I'd like to ask anyone interested to know what they do with him.
In return for I'm mostly interested in very rare Ice Types or a batch of exclusive Held Item for my Pokemon. Occult-related ones are very welcome, but please nothing dangerous or edgy! If seriously interested in a trade, please meet me in roughly two hours here at the entrance of the Violet Tent to discuss a trade and eventually head to a Trading Machine together. You'll recognize me by being accompanied by a Gothitelle wearing a tinfoil hat and a red rose in my hair.
Regards, and 'till then!~
Shiva A.
A slight smile formed on Shiva's expression as she took a look at that trading request - yesterday she has spread the word of such a worthy Pokemon being up for trade while being in disguise, now she's starting to become curious whether this will prove to have an effect on the amoun of people being interested in a trade. She'll wait and see, as before the trade she wanted to visit Mr. Finder with Nathan, followed by the Medium together with her own Psychic or future Psychic Types. (That's what the mentioned two hour gap is for.) If there's still time, take a look at that book about the raising of Spritzee to emit various scents and search for a Herbologist to find out more about these pink petals from the two Nuzleaf.
Heart couldnt help but feel a little intimidate by that glare coming from Shiva. He both enoying but taking too serious this battle. But he feel bad because this supose to be a enoyable pokemon battle and Heart think Shiva is not enoying that much. He also notices Shiva dont feel very much encourage to continue. "T...thanks for the compliment! It was because, w-well, I was a little concern about Kyuu use Fake out again, like did in some previous round. So I kinda need to finish off the more quick way possible. Priority Moves is something to take care. Even more the ones who can stop a adversary to move. After my battle against Dagyny, I kinda learn to be more careful. That battle kinda help to sharp mine and Rose instics to have focus in the battlefield." Then Heart decided to reveal that battle. "Both Rose and Koa gonna stay in the battlefield. Rose still able to continue fighting, and Koa still excited and pump up to fight against your fairies. No need to hide that strategy."
Emolga swoops in to grab the cookie as soon as it's clear it's being offered to him.  And then he thankfully chitters at Shiva in response when he returns to his perch.  Nathan chuckles.  "Careful.  He'll talk your ear off if you let him.  Not that I mind that, myself, though.  I think it'll be fun to have him around."
Nathan patiently waits for Shiva to put up that trade request.  He packs up that smooth stone Grid was covering in threads in the meantime.  Definitely interesting to see how a spider pokemon reacted to it...
Nathan looks just a tad sheepish as he starts asking what he needs to.  "Yeah, that...so...that move tutoring thing you do?  Would it be possible for you to...demonstrate what you do for me?  I'd kinda like to get into it a little myself to help my pokemon learn a few moves, but...the books I've read don't exactly detail the process very well...and I'd rather not be a bother every time I need to teach a move...*ahem*...I've got a move you could teach to speed things along a little, too...if you could demonstrate by teaching Electroweb to Porygon-Z, that'd be...great.  It's actually also gotten a bit better at using Conversion recently, so that would help increase its type variety too..."
For reference, Nathan's probably not gonna say much while the Mr. Finder thing is going on. He's there to primarily listen, as he said, so Shiva gets to lead that conversation.
