[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole

The removement of the alcoholic tang from Ven's breath was much appreciated, as now she almost even more happily snuggled up to him! Shiva didn't even mind that he entered dreamland almost in an instant, she gave him a fond stroke over the cheek here in the darkness that he probably doesn't feel anymore, before rather soon she, tired and positively exhausted from the events of the Day, doozed off a few minutes later.



Onward to the next Day!~


Shiva's nocturnal sleep was pleasant and relaxing, mostly because she wouldn't let go of Ventus/her newly found love for the night and now that she had her battle against the Kimonogirls she doesn't have to get up when the sun was rising. When she woke up eventually and somewhat relucantly and sleepy rolled herself over until she was laying on her back and looking up to the ceiling of the room (EDIT: Given Ven's failed Hangover Roll he'll probably still wake up with the sun, but it'd be mean if he'd left the room or the B&B, w...would it?), she took a glance over to the clock of cell laying on the table beside the luxurious bed and rubbed her eyes before she sat upright in the bed and put her glasses back on. It was a few minutes after 8am. (Sorry Heart, but Shiva has no reason to get up early this Day - she'd love to see the Tea Ceremony once more, but to get up on time she'd have to set an alarm clock)

Regardless of what Ventus was doing - she'll reply to anything he'd say or ask her or do though - Shiva eventually got up, changed clothes to her usual attire in the bathroom, and prepared breakfast for all her Pokemon, today mostly cookies and simple but good and nutrious Dry Food. A few crumbles she gently placed on the surface of the water inside the fistank, happily watching as Luvdisc picked them up... Once she has finished, Shiva rummaged a tad bit in her stuff before she found a free Pokeball, and after showing it to that sweet heartshaped fish she registered this B&B's Luvdisc to it. It can still stay in the fishtank however, Shiva will only withdraw her when it was time to leave and return the roomkeys. Vulpix however was not present during this feeding, for her Shiva has something different in mind. Just when she turned away from Luvdisc after having given her a fond smile and some strokes with her hand through the glass, Cottonee demanded the attention of her sweet Master by chirping loudly at her, before she floated up from the ground to place another batch of her white fluff into her arms. Huh, Shiva has barely noticed that yet another week has passed, her fluffball must have shed her cotton last night! 'Last night'... Hummm, one thing was for sure, she won't forget the stay at Romantic Hills B&B, and mark it as the day where she and Ventus grew even closer to one another.

Because she didn't do so yesterday evening, now Shiva spent a little time brushing her hair in front of that mirror beside the bed, finishing it with tieing the bow of her outfit of a ribbon that resembled the ribbons a Sylveon sports. The weather forecast on TV brough rain, which she took with mixed feelings. Only sprinkles, but still.... anyway, guess that'll grant her time to do other things now that she concluded that she wouldn't find much fun running around in Cress City sightseeing while there'll be...rain....

Eventually, she'll carefully come over to Ventus to give him a dear and coy kiss on the cheek as a good morning wish, looking at him in an awaiting and a tad bit concerned manner. How heavy was his hangover she wondered, and how does he feel this morning? "Ven, dea...." Shall she adress him with 'love' as well? Uhm... She didn't knew, and didn't end the sentence due to growing meek, "H....how do you feel today after these drinks of yesterday? Any plans for the Day? I guess I'll....stay in today... Tomorrow I can still finish some business. How ready do you feel heading down to Mount Sentry in search for the Library, actually?

The next thing Shiva will do as soon as she and Ventus returned the roomkeys and stepped out into the fresh air of precious Cress City (she'll pay the graveyard a visit tomorrow, Ven, as you expressed interest in being a proper boyfriend and accompanying her on that trip to serve as the first defense line) was stopping by at the PC near the Counter of the Eastern Pokemon Center and withdraw dear Spritzee. Shiva didn't like it at all, but given how she knows it'll rain, she wanted to spend a little time outside regardless and Cottonee are a spezies that does not enjoy rain, she was soft-forced to place the fluffball onto the PC as she desired to keep Nightshade with her for a little longer.

Is there any place in Cress City where Shiva can calmly stay for some hours outdoors while still being protected from the sprinkles of rain, Iron? A comfortable and roofed park bench or similar, where she can interact with her Pokemon and read in peace.

A whispering noise comes from Nathan's pack, a little muffled by the random threads of creepy spider silk now wrapped around the stone.

"Beh-spr-teh, beh-spr-teh, beh-spr-teh...."

The weather report for today says it will rain every few hours, just for short sprinkles.

Aye yai yai...is it going to do this EVERY morning?  Well, better write down the phrase it's saying again...he was going to get to the bottom of this at some point...

Rain in the weather report...awesome.  This sounds like a great opportunity to coach Furret on accounting for a pokemon's specific needs and wants...

Well, plans for today:

- Send a quick call/text to Dagny mentioning Atheneum is what Valder thinks the library is called and that might help narrow down the search.  Worth a try, right?

- Do some research into finding some writing/word spelling materials that might be suitable for a Slowking to handle.  Maybe something like Scrabble tiles would work?  Something that can be gotten slightly wet/damp without ruining the material.

- Spend some time with Solomon writing out what it is he wants to say about Sarimanok and the Royal Trio, letter by letter if it must be done the slow way.  Probably won't take as long if task number two works out well.

- Do some training with Charmeleon for the gym battle, Forthright on learning Weather Ball, Solomon on practicing his watery techniques.  Some practice in the light Rain showers sounds perfect.  Charmeleon gets to work on his non-fire techniques (it's not heavy rain, and the practice will probably do him some good.  Nathan will find a proper battle for him soonish.  Probably), Forthright gets to experiment with how Weather Ball interacts with actual Weather, Solomon gets some much needed practice in general...Nathan will also talk with Furret about how varied weather makes the Castform species happy, and about some of a Carvanha's needs, like plenty of Biting practice, careful care of their Rough Skin, lots of water for them to swim around in...

- Following up, looking for things that can help with caring for Carvanha.  Things like durable gloves, maybe a portable pool of some kind...stuff like that. (Actually, this is probably done at the same time as getting writing/spelling materials for Solomon if Nathan can find something that looks like it will work)

- Visit the museum again.  Let's go look at...Prehistoric Pokemon, Captain Bridge, Creshire International, and Pokedex.  Slightly shorter trip today. If Shiva (or anyone else in the party, for that matter. Remember, the museum doesn't take an encounter to visit!) is here at the same time, Nathan might end up visiting different/more exhibits instead, though.

- Then swap Solomon for Swiftfire and Emolga for Yule and do some more training with the two of them and Ralts!  (Pay Day practice for Swiftfire since she thinks the move is fun to use, some playful tackling/coin chasing from Yule [much to Swiftfire's dismay], and Ralts just having fun with the both of them)  Swiftfire should be able to make that cool once per week $1000 since she was with Nathan during the entirety of Route 05, right?

If anything happens along the way, I'll respond accordingly!

Dagny sends a text back. There are a few facts about a mythical Atheneum, which is never found in the same century twice, and contained all the knowledge needed to set up the first Kingdom. No one has been talking about this legend in recent times at all, though. These are all old archived stories from when most stories were told orally rather than being written down.
She'll keep looking with these new minor leads.

You make some, making them oversized for the clumsy paws of Slowking. He's not nearly as good at writing as he is at reading, but he manages to spell out some relevant things. Nathan has to help by trying to guess what Solomon is about to say, and arranging some tiles for him to read. This helps him keep track of where he is in a sentence. He's also got your journal for reference.

As Ventus awoke in the early hours of the morning, the lingering after effects of all that alcohol leaving him somewhat mused/muddled and l a slight acrid taste in his mouth, but no hangover of any sort, to his dull surprise as he tried to rise up and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. He figured getting sloshed on the hardest drink imaginable and then some after abstaining from drinking for so long would have had a more severe impact, but no, he was more of less in perfect health. 'I don't know whether its my immense constitution or Reshirim taking mercy upon my soul that left me without a pounding migrane, but I am thankful regardless......'

Further thoughts were halted as his ascent was prevent by heavy weight on his torso, causing a momentary sense of confusion as he tried to comprehend what was prevent him from getting up. 'Hrmm....did Apsis release herself to sleep with me last night? No, she only does that while we are out on the road. Raphael? They never released themselves, though, so I don't imagine them doing so now just. Errrr, damn this alcoholic haze clouding my mind! If it wasn't for it I could think more clearly and discern the cause of.....wait a moment, why was I drinking in the first place......?'

It was at that moment that empath blearily opened his eyes to stay down at the source of his impendment and found it to be none other than Shiva herself, triggering the return of memory. His sleepiness and remaining mental inhibitions were cleared in an instant as his eyes widened as he stared down on his sleeping beauty resting her head on his chest as he remember every little detail of last night flashed by before his eyes, from the drinking to them snuggling together under the covers. Ventus face slowly turn a bright crimison red as he processed everything, and he had to muster his self restraint not to begin figiting uncomfortably, least he rudely wake his most blessed friend while he had several realizations.

Shiva was his girlfriend now.

He was Shiva's boyfriend.

They were a couple now.

That was the metaphorical sound in Ven's head as his panic rised to the forefront of his mind and start to make a mess of things, sending feelings shocks of embarrassment, shyness, fear, and...well, shock throughout his consciousness, forcing him to get himself together and spend the next hour or so waging a viscious battle of control over his emotions. Far longer and much more effort than it would normally take him, but since he had to also carefully moderate his physical reactions and had the very source of his panic sleeping peacefully right on him , he could forgive himself for the delay. Eventually, though, the sociologist prevailed against his raging malestorm of nervousness, panic, and anxiety, tearing them to pieces and completely banishing them from his mind, no longer feeling like he was going to suffer a breakdown. Taking a deep breath, he let it out in a silent, heavy sigh as he took final stock of his situation, closing his eyes and laying prone on the bed as he did so.

'.....Yet again I have made a fool out of myself- I will never get drunk on a date again -, but this time I believe.....I believe more good than ill has come from it. ....I'm now beholden to Shiva as her suiter, she is behold to me, and together we are a now I couple. Even thought I made such a commitment while in an alcoholic stupor, I....I don't regret the choice I made. My....feelings.....my love for her......all the wonderful qualities she so effortlessly embodies.....the moment we have shared together on our journey.......being there for each other when we needed it most....none of that is invalidate by my inebriation. I'm embarrassed that I act so.......forward , and I still find myself highly wanting and unworthy of being her partner, but those are my concerns and failings alone, and bears no impact on her asking me to be her boyfriend.'

*Sighs*

'.....By the Tao Trio, I love her so much, but I'm.....I'm so afraid. That I'll ruin her. Destroying what make her so beautiful, and make her as ugly as I am on the inside deep within..... No matter how much I dread making my problems her own, I will not allow my own fears and self loathing paralyze me for any longer. If she willing to love me warts and all, to still pursue me even after I kindly turned her down, and accept a fraction of how awful I am, then I will no longer deny her or myself the care and affection she rightfully deserves. I will not sacrifice my feelings for her, and instead embrace them. For her shake....and my own....'

With that last plea sent towards the heavens, Ventus spent the morning in bed with his most blessed girlfriend as he awaited for her to awaken. He gazed upon her slumbering form with uncertainty and not the least bit trepidation, yet by the small smile the lite up his face a sense of comfort and fondness too. It would quite some time before he would fully come to grips with and wholeheartedly/unreservedly embrace his love for the woman before him, but damn him to Kyurem's frosty domain if he wouldn't make the effort like she has done. A relationship takes two people, and he was going to do his part to uphold it to the best of his abilities, whether he found them wanting or not....

Timeskip to Late Morning

When Ventus felt Shiva stir from he slumber and roll off and unpinned him at long last, he heaved a slight sigh of relief as he fully lean up and let out a yawn. Much as he enjoyed cuddling with his fae fancy, being swaddled by her for hours on end with nothing to do was beginning to become a bit uncomfortable physically speaking (his inner turmoil has already been discussed in great detail, but suffice to say it was slightly relieved too at her waking up), so having the opportunity to stretch his muscles was greatly welcomed. Eventually he too slipped out of bed to conduct his morning rituals, for the time being remaining silent and letting her set the pace of their post coupling interactions. The researcher had a wealth of when it came to courtship, and knew that rushing could potentially trigger a panicked fit of jitters for his often times meek friend, so he choose to hold his peace for the most part, save for shooting her a couple of nervous smiles. After he had finished dressing he proceeded to feed his dark angel a healthy breakfast of apples and blueberries, chuckling as he shared some much more easily forthcoming cuddle from her, before did his routine stretches while abscent mindily listen to the weather. Even though he had long ago regained his former Vitality and limberness from his journey through Cheshire, it never hurt to start the day with some light exercise!

The good morning smooch his blessed girlfriend shouldn't have really startled him, as he meekly looked away with tiny smile on his face at the gesture, but never the less it did. Her questions, however, prompted him to set aside his feelings of unease and contemplate on how to answer that highly loaded question, before he simply decided to that the best approach was simply being straightforward. "I'm feeling remarkably fine, actually. Not certain exactly how that was the case, considering the potent drinks I ibibed on, but far be it from me to complain about a lack of a hangover. As for my plans for today and the future, I'll be meeting with Valder later on to discuss an endevour he's currently assisting me in, among other things. Assuming all goes well and we experience no other interruption, I should be fully prepared to explore Mt. Sentry in a couple of days from now at least, or a week at most if things become....difficult. Hopefully that will not be the case, as I've come to enjoy these peaceful day......especially since I have you to share their their splendor with me."

Order: Host the All Day Training Session for Haunter, Mamo, Theo, and Froakie after Ventus eventually exits the B&B, in exchange with the Evolite upfront from Valder. His merc will also be handed over a Potion and Haziel for the day to do with as he wishes, as per our deal OOC. The training will be held in the Center's training gym area, with Froakie, Theo, and Haunter getting a more skilled/technique based instruction like refining fighting stances and combat styles, the second Training Encounter will have Mamo, Theo, and Froakie endure some intense training to further Strengthen them to more ludicrious levels, and the Final Training Session would be with Mamo, Haunter, and Froakie, and had them practice their Moves and Combat Manuevers in order to get a better feel for them. If their is time in between these Training Session, assume that Ventus manages to tag along wit Nathan to the museum out of curiousity. Wheh, that was a lota words, but it was worth all the effort and more in order to set sail Ven's and Shiva's relationship! Now, time for some well deserved rest~!

Shiva's stroll through town eventually led her to Relic Café, the place where not too long ago a pleasant lunch has been shared with Professor Mallorn. Haha... Simply thinking back to this quality time magiced a small smile and a held-back chuckle in amusement over how laid-back he actually was beneath all the knowledge and work dedicated to Pokemon and research, as well made her think of the uniqueness of her Special Poochyena he explained to her.

Once she found a free table at the side from where she can view over the townstreet, she ordered a latte for herself and a black tea without sugar for her Pokemon, before summoing Spritzee - because it was about time to work with her on widening the scents she could produce -, Lilith - because Shiva grew to enjoy the presence of a Pokemon controlling strong psychic powers - and her new white Vulpix- in order to introduce herself to it - to keep her company.

Sweet Spritzee receives a stroke under her beak and is very allowed to sit on her Master's/mother's shoulder while hiding between some strands of her hair, Gothitelle can stay by her side or take a seat herself while watching the rain and what Shiva does, while she herself brings her attention Vulpix, fondly smiling to it and letting it sniff on her extended hand before she spoke up in a soft tone of voice. "Well, hello, dear one. People call me Shiva, and from on I will be your owner and caretaker, making sure that you're healthy, happy and pretty. Your former owner has traded you over to me for a dragon I caught, but you may already know this. Haaahhh... Now to think about it, it's probably a bit sad that when trades between people are agreed, the Pokemon itself is only rarely asked what it thinks about this, whether it agrees as well. So, ehm, how do you feel? Would you accept me as your new Master, are you willing to try it with me? At first, how about having something for breakfast, hm?"

At that point, Shiva slid over the black tea and offered a portion of the spicy Pokemon Food from Arrowroot Village from her hollow hand to the white fox. It's not Rawst Berries, but at least something of a smiliar taste!


Once Vulpix has reacted to this and hopefully consumed the food, Shiva offered a thankful look to her (to Vulpix I mean, it's a female exemplar), before she reached into her backpack once again and drew that book about the rasing of a Spritzee and Cottonee's shortly shed cotton to place both onto the table, making a gesture that Vulpix can gladly examinate this white stuff that was just as fluffy as she herself looked. She then left the white fox alone at first, letting it set the pace of getting to know each other and calmly and slowly paged through the book to learn about how a Spritzee can be conditioned to a new scent - if Vulpix expresses being fine around her, Shiva may even read a few passages aloud to get the fox used to her voice.

Mechanics:
Before we'll get to some Training, we'll have to learn about what to do with Spritzee at all, as well as start things slow with Alolan Vulpix before asking her to show Shiva her skills with Snow Warning. I'd like to have a good start with this super-rare fox because it's something special and the chances that she'll become a frequently used member of the Team are high, a tad bit inspired of Lillie and Snowy.

As said, Shiva will stay here at the Café with these three Pokemon out for quite a while, if anyone from the party would like or need to approach her, they can do so.

Okay, one edit to the museum plans.  If Ventus is joining Nathan there, and Shiva accepts an invitation to join in (even if it's only for a short time) since she's hanging around the area (i.e. if both Shiva and Ventus are also visiting the museum exhibits), I'd like to also visit the Art and League exhibits.

And if Shiva's joining, regardless of whether Ventus joins, visiting the Medicine, Nature, and Telperion stuff can go on the list too.

Whew...busy day for Nathan. We can wait for Shiva to finish her training sessions before we get to this, though.

If this is too many exhibits for the allotted time combined with what I originally had on the list, then we'll postpone my original choices for another day and just visit all these ones instead.

Hmmm...well, any leads are better than none.  It wasn't going to be easy to find this Atheneum, it seems...containing all the knowledge needed to set up the first Kingdom sounds in line with an expansive library though.  Hopefull Dagny finds some more info before they head back into Mt. Sentry...

Alright, good, the big, wooden letter tiles seem to be doing their job...he'd have to work with Solomon on improving his 'writing', but he can definitely do it.  Given enough time, Solomon could probably spell as well as any human...

...but that's thought after Nathan's processed what Solomon is trying to say.

Ironically, using fire in the rain is good practice too, so Nathan doesn't complain at all when Charmeleon purposely tries to be difficult.  Forthright seems to be doing okay with weather ball now.  She's shaping the clouds into a sphere, now, and they seem to be taking on a damp, stormy appearance with the weather...now she has to work on launching it into the air to properly turn it into an attack.

Well, getting Yule to pay attention to what's going on around him was proving to be...interesting.  But hey, Swiftfire seems to have actually made some usable 'money' with Pay Day this time!  Maybe she'd decided that plinking it off of random wild pokemon every so often was a good idea...not that Nathan's going to complain about making $1000 just by having her around.  Cha-ching!
