The white haired lady comes over to teach you how to play Triple Triad and you can do some games with her with your new cards.

Ahahaha how imcredibly droll, Shiva got a freakin' CLEFABLE! It's just a card, and it's not a Fairy but somewhat 'colorless', doesn't matter, it's the sweetest thing ever. Same with that Marill. <3 Actually, she's rather satisfied with the haul, now after the lady has explained the rules, it itches Shiva to trial-test the real game. Just once!

Let's say, a deck for Triple Triad consists of 4 or 5 cards: Shiva chooses, Koffing (Psychic), Surskit (Water), Marill (Water), Poochyena (Dark) and Furret (Colorless) as her batch for this game. We'll play without keeping.

Uhm... K, and what to do now, how do we start this, Iron, and what am I supposed to post from my side when it's my turn?

We aren't going to actually play on a grid, because that would require statting up each card. Nor is it necessary to go turn-by-turn.

We're just going to roll off with Insight + Knowledge + Gaming Science, + a flat bonus (+0 for mostly commons, +1 for mostly uncommons or better, +2 for mostly rares, +1 for each legendary). So you need 3 uncommon cards before you get any mechanical benefit.

If your cards are overwhelmingly super effective on your opponent, every (1) becomes (6).

The lady introduces herself as Manna. Her deck is Ivysaur, Charmeleon, Wartortle, Spearow, and Metapod. Therefore her bonus is +1.

Shiva's roll: (3)(2)(1)(2)(6)(3)(3) + 0 = 1 success.
Manna's roll: 3 Insight + 3 Knowledge +1 Gaming Science (she's going easy on you). = (5)(5)(3)(2)(1)(6)(3)+1 = 4 success.
Victory for Manna.

So it's going to be very simple in this thread.

In real life, you take turns placing a card, trying to capture your opponent's squares. You can actually play it in Pokemon Insurgence, along with the usual games like Voltorb Flip or Slots.

You guys play games into the night. Ventus is training. Valder returns from adventures on the high seas.

And Heart is heading to the Cathedral for one final encounter. In the candlelight, lots of shadows move, and Heart and Hypno are very jumpy.

After a bit of searching, Heart leans against a downspout. Suddenly, a pebble falls on his head, and he looks up to see one of the gargoyles move! Could it be?

It is! That gargoyle is definitely a Pokemon!

Heart was very much deligh to see Ventus in such mood and wave his hand to him. "Indeed I am my friend! Sorry about the delay in give you the pokedollars my friend. The jewel job take a while to be finish it and I was having some other things to do, like the Ceremony. I unfortanely have loose that battle sorry heh." Heart was a little embarassed about that. "Perpaps let Koa fight against a female Umbreon was not the mostly bright idea I ever had. Talking about battles yesterday I have a enjoyable pokemon battle against Shiva. You should have see my friend! The way she fight against my pokemons, the prediction about what kind of pokemon each one of us would use, the twist and turn tables. In the beggining I was having the upper hand, but in the process my pokemon got hurt or faint, and Shiva turn the table with her two pokemon of her: Cottonee and Spritzee. It was with no doubt the mostly difficult, epic and awesome battle I ever had! Even more than the one against Dagny."

And as a result in the battle, Percival have evolve too!" Then Heart release the pokeball showing the big, bad and stronger Lairon! "He is now a powerfull Lairon my friend! A enjoying and happy ending in the battle! You should have see: That last Iron Head and in the same Aron showing the silver light of evolution...that will be a moment I will always carry in my memory for the rest of my life." Then Heart give a pat in the big head of Percival. "He even leave begind his old armor shell with his mask. And I give to Shiva as gift about her grow and develop. She deserve after that awesome battle."

"And I of course I find that Hypno I have told you. I gonna wait for later this night to take a look in the Cathedral. Both because Hypno was interest to me there today and because I didnt give up in my searching for that Gargryph I have heard when we was in Star City." Then Heart stop talking. "Heh, sorry if I take so long talking and talking. I ready to trade my friend! And here the money I have promise my friend." Then Heart give the money in the hand of Ventus. "And I still have good money with me. I must remember to give Shiva some money to help us find that "place"." Heart was referring about the library but he didnt out loud. Never know when the worse type of person might hear. "Lets go make the trade."

*Flashback!*

"No worries about the delay Heart, for I believe neither of us was in a rush or urgent need to conduct the trade pronto! (...) you've certainly be productively busy since our stay in Cress, my friend! My deepest consulations about your lose against the Kimono Girls, but as you mentioned sending Koa against them was an difficult challenge for the drake not to succumb to their natural charm, so I'm glad they still had enjoyable time regardless. I'm also impressed with you battle with Shiva, as judging by your description it must have been a intense and close struggle throughout it all! Its regretful I had to miss such a spectacular fight, but alas business called...."

"*Gives Percival an impressed smile at their new form, before transferring it over to Heart* Well, that just makes your victory all the sweeter and gloriously memorable for you and Shiva! Congratulations on Percival's evolution, my friend!"

"Hmm....investigation the Catherdral at night for.....Gargryph (You could see Ventus mystified by the mention of this Tandorain species) and appealing to Alphonse's desire to investigate? I wish you all the luck in your endevour, and pray that nothing amiss happens as you while you explore the place of worship!"

Ventus nods his head at both their other comments, happily accepting the money and going over to the Trading Machine with Heart to finish the transaction!

I'll simply assume that Vulpix gladly eats the blueberries this young man offers to her out of his cupped hand, mostly because it's stated that she eats a lot and she may cotton on that this person is a good person from the way Master reacted to him.

Once she ate every last berry and even faintly licked over Ven's hand in thankfulness, she let out a delighted yip over the attention she received, even wagging her many tails over the foreshadowing of 'recording some information about her', whatever that may mean she doesn't know. But it sounds like fun!

"I highly doubt the Ace Trainer I traded with caught this Vulpix here in Chreshire, Ven. That'd amaze me, much! Sure you can study her once if ya like, I'd be happy to get to know what you've found out then. But...haha, thank you for the congrats!" She dearly and shyly links arms with Ventus for the rest of the way, mostly because he called her....'love'. Awww! She has to get used to that at first, but she nevertheless appreciates it.

Ventus chuckles a bit as the cool air bathed his hand and when the Alolan Vulpix licked his hand, before giving it a small pat on the head and letting them return to her master's side. From what he recalled the Kantoan Vulpix line were friendly and outgoing, and it seemed to him that quality was mirror in their frosty counterparts! He briefly wonders if they share the same omnivorous/carnivorous diet too, but he decided to put that thought to the side for now as he replied to his blessed girlfriend. There would be time enough to explore that possibility when it was time to hunt with Yena, and he rather focus on less gruesome things like his upcoming trip and exploration of the card shop!!

"Since you are the one that meet and traded with this individual, I'll take you word wholeheartedly then and defer to you judgement. Still, I concur that finding such a adorable and rare species is a great boon for all of us indeed! My thanks for giving me the opportunity to study her in depth in the future, and I'll make sure to share any research I collect on her my dear!"

He doesn't flitched away or act bashful when the mystical lash links up with him, opting to give her a calm, sweet, and accepting smile before they both focused on getting to the shop in a timely manner!

Valder didn't have any other plans, so he would indeed return Natu at the end of the day.

(Already tracked down the particularly Stats for that Scyther last night, but thanks for effort regardless!)

Once Valder returned to the Center and entered the lobby, Ventus greeted him with a smile and a fist bump (should he accept it, that is), glad to see they (him and Haziel) were happy and a in a whole piece from their adventures around the region. He promptly handed over his mercenary's Pokémon back to him and received his prophetic bird in exchange, thanking him once more for the Evolite, reminding them of their plans to return to the Candelabra tomorrow morning, before wishing him a good night and departing from their presence.

The researcher next stop was the PC, where he retrieved and added Azrael, Hanael, and  Lilith back to his party along with Apsis and Malphena, delighted to once again have a full team of his family members with him again! Afterward he departed from the Center and Teleport over to Stair in order to locate and purchase a Sandstorm TM (preferably not at the Dpt. Store , but otherwise he'll buy it from their if that's the only place its available for $2800 Poke) and a Potion,  before making the return trip back to Cress and, upon finding a table in the Center's lobby, recorded a voice message and sent it to Nathan. It sounded as follows:

"Nathan, could you meet me in the East Pokémon Center lobby? I have something I wish to discuss with you, so please make haste as soon as you can."

Order: Go to Stair to purchase a Sandstorm TM and Potion for $2800 Poke, before returning to the Center's Lobby, sending a text to Nathan to meet him up there so they can surprise him with it! Time to knock out another deal and make Malphena that much more potent of a powerhouse, and give Forthright mastery over the shifting, scouring sands!

The starter decks should be effectively equal in power so there's no bonuses.

I may publish a rarity list in a bit, but generally in a typical 3 stage line, it will go common-uncommon-rare (starters) or common-common-uncommon (early route Pokemon). Lapras and Magmar and such are rare. Two stage Pokes like Weezing are common-uncommon or occasionally uncommon-uncommon.

(A rarity list would be great so I don't have to arbitrarily guess!)

Huh.  Yeah, a Fire/Water versus a Grass/Fire ended up being pretty equal in the end...despite having several of the powerful cards that the box only had a single copy of, Nathan ends up losing the 3 duel match overall.  "Heh...guess I have a little practicing to do if I want to get into this at all...well played, Shiva, well played."

It's nice to just relax and play a card game, look at the cards' cool artwork...Nathan probably spends a good portion of that time putting them in card sleeves.  Yeah, he shelled out that extra $100 for the lifetime sleeves coupon thing.  Might as well, right?  He also makes sure to grab an extra one, just in case he decides to cut out that picture of the Skarmory card later.  Might not be tournament legal, but eh.  Still looks reeeaaallly nice.  Definitely must have cost quite a bit to get that picture copied...

I am hoping this is the rarity list. 1 = common, 3 = rare. Legendaries and mythicals you don't need a list for; they're just a subtype of rare that is even better.

The empath is a little surprised as Nathan quickly responds to his message, and becomes intrigued when they declared that they something themselves to divulge to everyone. Curiousity now piqued, Ventus waits in the lobby for everyone else to arrive, this time with Azrael  in his lap as he passed the time feeding them blueberries and apples while cuddling them, much to the blind drake's delight! A daughter always likes caring attention from their papa, after all!

When Heart notices the big gargoyle Pokemon, his heart almost go out of his chest. It is...yes! Indeed it is! The rare pokemon who even rare in his homeland in Tandor, Gargryph! Finally! His search around the Cathedral payoff! But how he going to make the gargoyle pokemon join with him? Yes he could battle against the noble guardian, but this would not help increase the bond between them. Heart then think and think and finally decide to aproach to the noble pokemon. But not before he return Hypno to the pokeball to calm the might pokemon. Even more since Heart did remember the Gargryphs know the move Explosion so a friendly aproach it would be the better line of choice. "*Ahem* Good night, guardian pokemon. Sorry to interrupt your slumber and invade your home. I dont come here to cause trouble or pain. I would like to talk a bit."
