Alright, Nathan and Heart run into each other on the street in front of Tanuki's modest gym. There are a bunch of Zigzagoon digging around in the little trash cans outside the gym, which have somehow lost their lids. You can see the Zigzagoon working hard to rearrange the trash and recycling into homey spaces.

Awesome!  Forthright's now able to use Weather Ball (20 exp spent)!  She's having fun playing 'catch' with Furret now that she can properly use the move.

"You read my mind Nats. Yeah, I have come to challenge the Gym. After the battle against Dagny and Shiva I feel a little more confident and excited to challenge the Gym Leaders. I may need to remember challenge other previous Gyms when got the chance. I may need fly around with Onix. I think I forget to tell ya, you not anymore the only one with a Delta variant my friend. I have a Deltamon too. A Delta Onix to be more precisely. Rock/Flying to be more precisely. Very much disobedient but I will find a way to make him less disobedient (I hope). Also Nathan, you by chance know where I can I find the HM-fly? I might want to teach Delta Onix that move to fly with more great speed."

Heart thinks for a second. "Well, to be honest I dont know. Perhaps some desigh with Persians and Miltanks maybe? I dont know, I just hyped something more...impressive." Heart dont even try to hide his disapointed.

as if the precious-toxic plant was dying in front of her if she wouldn't opt to do anything to ease it now. "Ven, dear, excuse me if I'll be blunt with things that I'll tell you now. Forgive me that I had NO IDEA that these actions at the Tusk and at the exit of Mount Sentry have hurt you, made you worry for me, or put me in danger that you didn't want me to be in... It IS HURTFUL from the way you speak things out. Much. Especially when I myself do not share your viewpoint on these actions. Not...completely, that is... I'm not sharing your fear and paranoia for the arcane and the magical, and I likely won't ever will. You cannot ask me to let go of my interest for the occult, natural magic, herbology, or seperate me from my Fairy Types... That'd be not very fair."

"At the Tusk, you people were doing I don't know what, and I was simply curious. I didn't feel fear or such of the Eremit. I felt that he didn't mean harm..... Though I agree that after seeing what curiosity has done to me - it trapped me in the Nightmare World of these.....dogs - I should be more careful with such things."


"Facing what was a predator to the Furret of Mount Sentry is something I HAD to do alone, Ventus, the Furret that is now registered to me asked me to deal with it in order to gain its favour. I'm not quite sure if it'd joined me or would like me as much a it does if I'd come to you people with the plea to help me facing what turned out a Druddigon + minions."

A small break followed, where she gathered more words.

"Ven, I cannot promise you that I won't do similar actions again. I simply cannot as I do not know what may await us on our further traveling... I don't want to give you my word now and then nevertheless more or less accidently do something that be dangerous for me or hurtful to you, you see? ...Do you know how people grow as a person? ...By facing hardships. By SOLVING hardships. If there's a magical easy way to do so, I'd love to hear about it. ... I CAN promise you that I'll take good care of myself from now on in particular to that issue, and try to keep the risks minimum for me and my Pokemon, BUT ONLY if you do the same. ...Alright?"

Shiva didn't even await an answer though, as she had one more thing to add in an almost sad and not-almost low voice: "Have you thought that I'd begrudge you because of you caring for me enough to so openly speak with me about what was troubling you? Fool... I don't know what YOU'd have to do to get rid of me, but WAY more than this." Next, she leaned over further to place a kiss directly onto his lips to by all means SHOW that she means it - she still does not move, but she'll keep the contact longer than a few moments, or in particular until she'll be out of breath or he withdraws.

-Ventus is shocked by the sympathy and concern that Shiva shows him right after his lecture, but swiftly returns to his current miserable baseline after she expresses partial disagreement with the points he was trying to make, albeit he doesn't begrudge her from feeling as such.

-He is taken aback by the sudden inclusion of their diametrically opposed views on the mystical and arcane, as his discussion with her was ONLY about her recklessness and taking steps to correct such behavior, and NOT trying to dissuade or condemn her interests, fascination, and pursuits in those areas. He explains as such to her, in addition to apologizing for accidently implying that and/or his words giving off that impression.

-Her justifications for her actions with the Eremit and Druddigon respectively earn her a unhappy and disappointed frown, as he naturally disagrees with her. He then gently chides her and offers counter arguments to persuade her to rethink her stance, taking care not to be angry or look like he is.

-For her justification regarding the Eremit, he offers this rebuttal: " 'Curiosity killed the Delcatty' and 'First impression and appearances can be deceiving,' are two saying you should keep in mind, dear. Remember, we knew nothing about that 'Eremit', so going up to casually greet it was still extraordinarily risky, no matter what you felt about them. I'm heartened to know you are learning to repress such rampant curiosity, but I wish you didn't have to learn how under such.....unpleasant circumstances."

-For her justification regarding the Druddigon: ".......Forgive me for saying this, but that Furret was NOT worth the great peril and danger you put yourself in on its behalf, and never will be. You could have acquired one in any number of other ways FAR less deadily, least of all trading for one at some point in Cress, and you should have known this. *Sighs* Shiva, your life and wellbeing is paramount and should be your top priority in ALL matters, as if you are unwell or dead  it will have massive impact on everyone connected and beholden to you. If you were hurt greviously by that Dragon, you couldn't have taken care of your Pokémon while you recovered, everyone in the group would have been extremely and adversely affected, and your parents worried sick if they found out. If you had died......you family, your Pokémon, and our friends would have been devastated. You already know how I would take your death, but I imagine the boy would be traumatized beyond belief , and both he and the collector would beat themselves up endlessly. Thus: my point remains as it was: you should have come and got help Shiva. If doing such would have offended or made the creature unimpressed by such precaution, it would not deserved your kind and generous help, much less a spot on your team. Needless to say, putting yourself in grave danger so unnecessarily is just unwise, dear...."

-Ven's distressed and extremely disheartened by her plainly refusing to keep his promise, but ultimately understands why she made the choice she did, and accepts it with a heavy heart, with the thought 'The love of my life, forever boldly striving forwards into the unknown, and perhaps one day to her untimely doom. All I can do now is do my utmost to mitigate the fallout of her missteps, and catch her when she stumbles and falls in her given course. Oh my love I understand why you will not bind yourself to promises you may not keep, and your desires to face adversity and grow, but I wish you didn't have to do so at the cost of all else....'

-However, her counter offer manages to generate a MASSIVE turnabout in his emotional state, making him much more happy and light hearted and hopeful as he readily agrees to this promise, as while its not what he exactly wanted, it was FAR better than he ended up expecting by the end. Hey, a compromise is better than nothing, right?

-The researcher is so surprised by Shiva's heartfelt declaration and earnest kiss that he ends up passing out due to a combination of stupor, too much stress and shock to the system, and because he literally ran out of breath. He ends up getting a good night's sleep regardless with a mostly cleared conscious, so alls well that ends well?

I may need to remember challenge other previous Gyms when got the chance. I may need fly around with Onix. I think I forget to tell ya, you not anymore the only one with a Delta variant my friend. I have a Deltamon too. A Delta Onix to be more precisely. Rock/Flying to be more precisely. Very much disobedient but I will find a way to make him less disobedient (I hope). Also Nathan, you by chance know where I can I find the HM-fly? I might want to teach Delta Onix that move to fly with more great speed."

Heart thinks for a second. "Well, to be honest I dont know. Perhaps some desigh with Persians and Miltanks maybe? I dont know, I just hyped something more...impressive." Heart dont even try to hide his disapointed.

Nathan shakes his head.  Ralts laughs.  "No, I just paid attention to what you were saying last night."

Nathan listens to the Delta Onix stuff...

...shrugs.  "Cool, I guess.  Just work with it a little bit, and you'll be fine, I'm sure."  He's not as impressed as Heart might have been expecting.

When asked about Fly, though...

"...uh, HMs aren't just something you 'find' usually, Heart.  They're FAR too powerful to be so commonplace.  They're not the same weaker, mass produced imitations that you're used to seeing around the world...and I know I'm a historian, but I have no idea where any of the HMs are, with the exception of Surf.  League has a copy of that one, and just like with Key Stones, they don't let just anybody use it. Best I can tell you about Fly is the last known sighting of someone using it was around 5 years ago. Nobody who might know where the HM is has said anything about it, though."

Nathan shrugs again at the gym design stuff. "Normal is a plain type. Most gyms that feature it are designed that way, too. Whitney in Johto took a more decorative, cutesy approach with flowers. Norman in Hoenn has a really simple one with banners on the walls and doors and not much else. Cheren in Unova has a gym that is part of a Trainer School. Lenora's was a library before she stepped down from the position. None of them are all that fancy and impressive, really."

"Arceus dammit. I may need to find another way to move more freely. If there is any kind of crisis, I think I already know what I gonna ask: The HM fly. No offence Ralts, be able to teleport from place to place is awesome too, but require too much energy, and a pokemon who use that feel tired after teleportation depending of distance and how much times it is used as long the level of mastering. Also it cant change the feeling of flying around the skies in the back of a giant stone serpent. This would be enough to turn some heads on!"

"Well, at least Norman in Hoen have a little more cool Normal-type Gym like some kind of Dojo witch is awesome, although simple. With remind me: Do you by chance know who is the Elite Four in Cheshire? Since there is a Gym Leader system, there might be a Elite Four system along with a Champion."
