[Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole
(04-05-2018, 03:11 PM)Iron Wrote:

(Sorry for annoying about XP again! I put that before I made a PM for you and forgot to delete it, so forgive for that!)

Once Apsis had thoroughly worked out all the pent up, coiled, and burning WRATH with her upon against Chandelure for nearly destroying her master, she slithered away from the now heavily Statused Ghost with an consterned yet somewhat content look on her muzzle. Her grudge against that fiend would never be completely sated unless it died a long, drawn out, horrible, and agonizing death by either her fangs or her master's hands, but at least she could take some small measure of comfort out of severely crippling it, using it as a (un)living stress toy, and the thought it would be left with lasting trauma from its near death experience.

Now, if it was her decision she wouldn't have restrained herself at all in tearing the lamp fixture to scrap, but alas that was no to be by the still baffling grace of her master. It had better be EXTREMELY grateful for his mercy and her restraint, as it was equally undeserving of both  in her esteemed opinion, *Hiiissss.......*

Ven made sure to give his sister a gentle, thankful caress for tolerating his sudden roundabout on their revenge plans (as again, he well knew of her frustration) as she returned to his side, before he lobbed and subsequently capture Chandelure, letting out a long *Siiiigh* of sullen relief as he sent it off to his PC, his quest for recompense now concluded. He still had the task of finding someone willing and capable enough of caring for an dangerous Ghost like it for a reasonable price -'No doubt I will have to make another trip to Corsage to accomplish that.....'-, but the worst of his involvement with it was now over.

The candlestick spirt now gone, his attention/focus/sharp sense were free to notice the changes in the Candelabra and the atmosphere, and soon he cottoned the apparent reason behind it (Ven's Ultra Insightful now, but he's not clairvoyant; Can't tell if what you wrote is something Ven could actually intuiate, since he really wasn't paying too much attention to the Candelabra's origins). Normally such things would either mystify him or raise his guard, but he positively relished the peace of mind the place now gave him and his family, taking in a deep breath and letting it all out with a small, sad, but none the less genuine smile.

'Before, I felt my penance to be an orneous task, but now.....now I think truly begin it anew...'

A little bit after this thought, Ven approached his banshee and made sure to give her a fond head rub/hair tonsle and a great big smile for her hard work, glad she was not only mostly alright from her battle against Chandelure, but that she quite enjoyed it as well. He couldn't indulge her desire to take Chandelure on as his own -not with the history between them and the pressing needs for additional funds, but taking her on similar types of hunting trips in the future and later rewarding her with some Honey once they arrive at the Center? That was something he could easily arrange, and perhaps more still in the future.....

With every and all things wrapped up and accounted for, he recalled Malphena to her Pokeball and bid his mercenary congradulations and farwell, before making his way towards Stair, its Pokémon Center, and Corsage later on.

Time Skip

Finding someone willing to purchase Chandelure in Corsage was easier said than done, but eventually he found a Breeder willing to pay $7750 Poke for them, at which point he had his much trusted and valued Haziel Teleport him back to Cress, where he entered into the East Pokémon Center to unwind after that harrowing Encounter with Malphena. During this time he decided to check on his messages to see if anyone had tried to get in contact with him since he left in the morning (his sister happily enjoying her sticky sweet treat in the mean time), and found that his girlfriend (That still sounded out to him.....) sent him a text!

Quote:@PhantomUnderYourDesk

Ven, my love, hi. Uhm... I hope you're doing fine. I wanted to let you know of a thing, followed by asking you something, after our talking yesterday it feels wrong to me to not let you know.

Thing is, I'm about to finish my crafted Cleanse Tag. Finally!~ <3 And, well, I'd like to try it's effect out, so I'm planning to make a trip to Cress City's cementary late night alongside it, my Poochyena trained to bite Ghost Types into oblivion and Furret in order to identify them with his Foresight to beta-test things, and....well....... Would you want to come with me? Mostly as a back-up, and company, and to keep things safe - for both our sake. Will you have time today? We can meet up at the entrance of the Eastern Pokemo Center and head to the cementary together then.

Please let me know of things soon, counting on you!

He smiled at the news that his mystical lass Cleanse Tag project neared completion, but that expression was wiped off and replaced with raised eyebrows at the her decision to immediately run it through its paces and her extended offer to him. Truth be told, after today's and the day before's events, the only Ghosts he wanted time spend any length of quality time with were his mischievous spirit and Valder's Haunter, so the empath was initially hesistent to accept her request. However, those hardship also granted him the wisdom/revived his concerns about the dangers of dealing with the dreaded specter type alone or not, and he was certainly not going to let his lover have to suffer through those leasons herself! At least not alone and a whole lot of effort on his part to prevent such deliriously bad circumstances, anyway!

So with a small *Sigh* and a glance over at his ghostly sister, Ventus recorded a message to Shiva, and sent it on its way. Its sounded as followed:

"Shiva, my dearest sweetheart! Tad worn out from all the ongoing business I've been conducting these last few days, but I'm delighted to say I've finally accomplished those odious tasks, and have been greatly compensated for my hard, diligent work. More than enough to cover my portion of Mr. Finder's Finder fee, plus his various expenses if they are not too costly, in fact! I'm thrilled you've neared the completion of your Cleanse Tag, and no doubt have already finished it by the time you receive this message! Less so about you putting it to use immediately afterwards, however. Ghosts are.......serious threats Shiva, as I've told you so long ago about them in part, and going to a veritable hotspot for them to blind test your newly wrought charm seems.....not fully thought out. You could first test it by seeing if it has any effect on Melphena, Heart's Phantrump, of Valder's Haunter, or take it to a Medium of some sort to ascertain if the Tag holds any true warding power."

"Those only my suggestions, however, so if you prefer to ignore them in favor of your own plans then I would be more than willing to assist you in your endevour. I can't very well let my lover face the supernatural alone, now can I? I'll be bringing along Malphena, Apsis, and Azrael as my primary aid, as the former to are adept and highly competent in facing fiendish creatures like themselves, and my child could use the experience. I'll be waiting at the East Pokémon Center for you, unless you want me to meet up with you at the Graveyard, in which case I'll depart for their ASAP. Regardless, I will see you soon, my love. Stay safe, and stay well....."
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.

Tanuki smiles. "You've come to the right person. Tips for navigating Mt. Sentry? Well, you know that trick where you put your hand on the left wall and just follow it, even through dead ends, and it leads you through every path? It would take weeks and weeks to explore all of the maze as it exists now, but it could help you get out of a tricky dead end. However, there are two things to be aware of with that trick: sometimes Mt. Sentry has nested loops, and that trick won't get you out of there. And of course, Mt. Sentry is shifting all the time."

"Bring digging gear or a Pokemon with Dig. A few balls of kite string wouldn't go amiss. Buy climbing gear. Pitons are useful - those are little metal pins you can hammer into stone. Not only can you climb them, you can leave them to mark a trail you've already gone down. The Pokemart in town sells these metal nets designed to work with pitons to hold back rockslides. Gear up!"

"I know of Mr. Finder but I couldn't tell you anything about him you don't already know. However, if he operates based on smell..."

She calls Zigzagoon over and palms his held item. Then she gives him another item, which he delivers to Nathan. "One of my other Zigzagoon once picked up this little shard of pure black rock. No runes or anything, but I immediately recognized that it was no ordinary rock. I warn you, I don't know for certain it's a Relic Stone, but it's something you could investigate by finding the larger stone this pebble chipped off of."

Nathan can't sense anything supernatural about the stone, but it does match the color of the Relic Stones in other regions. And it has a slight smooth curve to it on one side.

"I'd like that back when you're done with it. Zigzagoon likes to hold it, and he has a keen eye for that kind of thing. We found it quite deep within the mountain, west of center. There are cave paintings and Old Unown writings all over the place in Mt. Sentry, but I didn't see any relating to books or Genesect or gauntlets. This little stone was near an FTS painting of a forest, I think, filled with some kind of giant hairy Pokemon. By the looks of it, anyway."

"If you're gone too long, I'll come in looking for you next time I'm training in there. But it could take weeks or months for you guys to find that Library, so bring plenty of food. A good tip is to store it in Pokeballs. Pokemon that can summon food or water are handy. I know of Tropius, Snover, Grotle, Shuckle, Paras, Combee, and of course Miltank and Chansey, my rare Normal type friends."

"Oh! Another thing to note if you look for the source of my black rock. I saw a lot of Slakoth and Slowpoke there. Hope some of that helps!"

Nathan smiles and nods, carefully packing the stone away.  "Thanks.  I'll keep that all in mind and make sure the rock gets back to you once we're done with it.  Shiva has a Tropius, I have a couple Combee...and a male Skiddo, but he doesn't know Milk Drink yet, unfortunately...I'll tell everyone to stock up on supplies and prepare for the journey ahead.  Hopefully we find Atheneum relatively quickly...I hope we don't need you to come fetch us, but we'll all be very grateful if you do show up and we happen to be lost, I'm sure."

Nathan trails off, thinking for a moment...

"...there is...one other thing.  I'm almost certain the Scimitars are in Cress City too.  They might be hiding their gauntlets.  Some of them don't even have gauntlets at all.  The ones that do though rely more on their gauntlets than their pokemon.  And..."

...he hesitates another moment...

"...*sigh*...well, this next part is a little...grim, to say the least.  I and my pokemon were threatened by a trainer a couple weeks ago.  As in, he threatened to kill us.  The trainer escaped, but his Pinsir didn't.  His Pinsir was sent to the Shelter for Disobedient Pokemon in Stair, and then returned to his PC when they discovered the bug was still registered under that trainer's OT.  I don't know if the Wineberry authorities released it or not, ufortunately.  All the shelter staff would tell me is the trainer lives in Cress City."

"...what bothers me about that are two things.  One, when the trainer escaped, it was through a hidden door at the bottom of a pond.  A door which I'm reasonably certain leads into a Water Scimitar base, based on some sort of locking mechanism found on it and another entrance I know of.  Two...his Pinsir was a Mega-Pinsir.  He had a Key Stone somehow.  He also said something about needing a pokemon with the right move, and mentioned Cress City to his Pinsir as well.  Cnsidering he wanted the Honey my combee were gathering, he might have been looking for a Heracross or something...anyways..."

"...I asked Dagny about who has League approved Key Stones in Cress.  She got me two names and their addresses:  Fernando Marlfox and Jerry Sensen.  Happen to know them?  Have you seen anyone using a Mega Pinsir lately? Or maybe even just a normal Pinsir that is rather...zealous about battling. I got the impression that Pinsir likes combat a lot, regardless of how 'safe' that combat is."

"Oh yes, I do know them both. Jerry's lived here most of his life. Fernando was accepted for his work on the emotional connection between Pokemon and Trainer vis-a-vis Keystones. I wouldn't have described either one as violent. I don't know what Mega stones they each have."

"Guess I'll have to visit them both to find out then...maybe I can get them to demonstrate their Mega Evolutions for me...hmmm..."

"...well, thanks for the help, Tanuki.  It's very appreciated.  Be careful while the Scimitars are out and about.  I'll probably be challenging you to a battle when we get back from searching for Atheneum, so I hope you're looking forward to that."

If Tanuki has nothing more to add, then it's time to move on to the next task.  @Spiritmon, is Heart still waiting for Nathan at the gym's front doors?

It was probaly already dusk when Shiva would receive that message from Ven, the whole time after her finishing that presumed Cleanse Tag of hers she has been lounging around here in Celebi Park doing various casual and non-tirering activities, like doodling constellations and Pokemon, reading in the book about raising a Spritzee properly, cuddling with her Pokemon, grooming her Pokemon, listen to Braixen chant and trying to follow the melody with her thumb harp, such things. She didn't feel like crafting another plushie from Cottonee's fluff just now, neither would she appreciate lacking a suitable table while crafting - in the end, she'd accidently leave needles in the grass that innocent Pokemon may find! All were things that somewhat distracted her from the...unknown issue about why her creation was not giving any hint of being filled with life now, as well as ease her mind for the exciting and no doubt stressful and even dangerous venture down into Mount Sentry with the others and Mr. Finder.

She was just inweaving some found flowers into her magical fox's red fur by his ears as a familiar jingle hinting to a new message on cell soft-disturbed the lil' group and caused Shiva' mind to return to the current planet.

Playtime was over - back to business, my dear.
Fine....

Hesitantly and somewhat forced, Shiva gave Braixen another fond stroke over his cheek, before she averted her gaze and withdrew cell from her stuff to check who was writting her there - actually, it could only be one person whose reply on a particular issue she was waiting for.

Indeed, the message was as expected and hoped from dear Ventus!~ The way he adressed her there in his familiar and liked voice allured a soft blush and a very timid smile that auto-raised her cuteness by 50%, but of course only her Pokemon could see and feel that. Listening to his message twice, Shiva pondered about his word, his sentiments and a proper response for some minutes, before she allowed herself to fall backwards into the grass again to type it up and send it to him before she'd pack all her stuff and head towards the Eastern Pokemon Center to 1. swap around in her party again to have matching Pokemon on hand, and 2. wait in front of it for him.

Heart balance his head. "Unfortunately it can't. Maybe it is because it's a Delta variant with the flying typing. And even it could, it is very much unlikely to obey. He is very much disobedience." Then Heart stop for a second than talk again, holding the a pokeball. "Nathan, did you...have problems when you caugh Orthos and make him a member of your team? I mean, I already meet Delta species before, but I never own one to me. Is there any tips you could give to me?"

"Also I may try again fight against Tanuki. This time a little more prepared. And I would want to ask if you by chance know where is Shiva. I would to ask her to make a trade with me to help Viktor finally to evolve." Viktor sit in Heart shoulder. "I plan to use him in my next Pokemon battle along with Patrat. Since normal don't effect Ghost. She might have a few Dark Moves but I still want to try my luck."

It wasn't before to long that Ventus received a reply from his most blessed of friends, which caused him to smile fondly as he read the concern she felt of over his financial situation and the pariaty involved in paying Mr. Finer. 'With the payment I received for Chandelure, I believe Poke cost will not be a pressing issue for awhile, bar unusual circumstance or further expenses for our expedition into Mt. Sentry later, so her worries are not completely justified any longer. Still, I appreciate she cares enough to caution me regardless....what a wonderful woman,' he thought as his mind lingered over the first two paragraphs, before he moved on and scanned the rest of her message. He was a bit distressed at her insistence heading over to the Graveyard, and her doubts over the power of her Cleanse Tag did his mind no comfort, but never the less he let out a small *Sigh* and nodded to himself. 'If she desires to face the supernatural, then she will not do it alone. I just pray we Encounter no Ghosts or similar beings like Chandelure, or worse still....'

That unsettled but still resolute though in mind, the researcher got up and went over to the PC to rearrange his party into the following line up: Raphael, Apsis, Michael, Malphena (Who was still out and was now hover beside her master post Honey Consumption Bliss), Lucifer, and Abaddon. That line up not only consisted of his most powerful family members (bar Ao Gaung, who was still a liability to use around others), but also had powerful support capabilities between them all and sustain/bulk that would prepare them for almost ANY form of adversity/situation. In other words, perfect for not only rendering aid to his dear girlfriend on their hunt, but also for the upcoming expedition into Mt. Sentry in search of Anthenum....

Oh, and he made sure that Lucifer and Malphena received their Wide Lens and Evolite back respectively, much to their great joy!

Ventus then exited the Pokémon Center and waited for Shiva, silently greeting her with a wave and a smile with banshee by his side.

(Alright, I'll leave you to do the intiation and testing out the Cleanse Tag on Malphena, while I wait for you to transition us to the Graveyard. I rather keep conversation to a minimum/on the way/in the Cementary, as I want to get the next day started ASAP so that we can FINALLY go after the Secret Library in earnest!)
