Crustle is not going to be scared after one hit KOing your Pokemon, no matter how good your roll. It does seem willing to battle 'fairly' to see who gives ground. Perhaps this is how they do it when two Crustle meet in tunnels not wide enough to admit them both.

The well-traveled researcher recognizes this as a Mega Stone, unpolished, and presumably Sablenite. He knows it will not work unless polished (a simple $300 task) and linked up with a Keystone.
Ven's eyebrows shot up as he took the Salenite from its mimic nameshake, a look of utter fascination + surprise on his face as he rotated the Mega Stone in his hands. ".....I was expecting gemstones from Mr. Finder's foretellings, not a Mega Stone, least of all your current form's Ditto! Hmm.....ah! How about you hold onto this and show it to Nathan latter, my friend? With how......ill disposed towards me he is currently, gifting him this myself would not be as well received as you doing so in my stead, so what do you say?"
If yes, Ditto will be holding on the Sablenite and show it to Nathan ASAP! If not, Ven will keep a hold of it until the boy comes back to collect Ditto/his allotment of wealth, where upon he'll reveal it and ask if they want it (presumable with their characterisitic flourish of pulling it out of their sweater's sleave!)! Regardless, he'll give the metamorph a pat on the head for a job well done thus far, before ordering them to resume the dig and getting back to work himself.
Ditto gnaws on the Sablenite, but even teeth made for eating gems are unable to damage it.
The digging team is making good progress. Survival+Alert checks for number of gems - Ventus gets +1 for having Sableye.
(4)(2)(1) - two tiny rubies
(2)(6)(3) - one tiny garnet.
They're rough gems, but they will net you a total of $2400 profit/$800 each.

Nathan raises an eyebrow. 'Looks like he probably has Rivalry for his ability...and he's not gonna make friends very easily...'
"Unfortunately, Shinx, I'm not going to leave just because you roar and growl a little at me. Not going to work against everyone. How about we have a little competition, then? I'll send out one pokemon, you fight them. You win, you'll have proved your dominance, and I'll back off. I win, and I'll have to ask that you come with me."
Shinx agrees!

Out comes the goat that's loosely based on a bicycle! Let's see those initiatives. Got a nifty +8 for Nathan now.

*held back cursing* K, the moment these worked stone walls moved inwards without merci was the moment fear awoke. No fear of failing, but fear of actually getting trapped down here when the trip has just shortly started. There are a ton of things Shiva does want experience in the life that lays before her, and her future looks bright, no way she'll risk ANYTHING here! The time where the tunnel has become so narrow that another failure will make it unable for her to return, she'll stop and return to the group. Please no chara-death for Shiva when it can prevented, I wouldn't take that well.
Hmm... If Gothitelle has any potential to help her in case, she's summoned to please do so. A Solrock is possible, but a Diancie is just as possible and this particular Pokemon feels worth depicting in a stone puzzle as well. Now then... if there are clear hints of symmetry on these cubes, we'll go for another attempt of putting a Solrock together. If there aren't, we'll go for Diancie, assume that she turns the cubes many many times to get a good look at all of the sides to minimize the risk of another wrong picture.

If it's a Solrock, Gothitelle will give you +1 dice.
(4)(3)(3)(4)(2)(2)(1) + (5)? - 2 or 3 successes. The walls are closing in! Shiva whispers to Azu in her Pokeball to be ready with Huge Power.
(3)(1)(4)(6)(3)(5)(6) + (6) Ding! That looks an awful lot like a Solrock. Every edge line is against another reasonable line. Every possibly symmetrical part looks good. And Gothitelle, when swapped in, has made one correction to make the picture more celestial. Taking a deep breath, Shiva swaps out for Azumarill in case she's wrong, and successfully shunts the entire iron ring aside! Whew, that took a long time.

The Crustle lumbers into view, its square shell taking up 95% of the tunnel, with only tiny glimpses of light beyond the cube. You can see multiple layers of Mt. Sentry in there - magnetic ore, fossil limestone, the shifting clay of so many tunnels, even a little fertile topsoil.
It's already hostile! Snip, snip!
(Typhon would like this place)
Heart become very careful about that Crustle and quick give some important order to Gustav. "Gustav my friend, be careful. Even with the typing advantage as Water/Ground (thanks to Earthpower) we need to be very much careful. That Crustle look very much strong, so lets finish him with our mostly powerfull moves. Use Water Pulse 4 times. Lets see how much that Custle can handle a empower STAB and Super Effective moves against him! Go get him Gustav!" Gustav prepare the cannon, more than ready to fire the torrent of Water cannoballs! "And if you got too much hurt (around 3 HP or less) I shall use a Potion! And after the potion use Aura Sphere instead of the fourth Water Pulse! (That would be count as fourth attack)"
Water Pulse Accuracy: Dex (3) + Fight (3) + Canalize (3) - Actions (4/5/6/7) = 5d6/4d6/3d6/2d6
Damage: Power (2) + STR (3) + STAB (1) + SE (1) = 6d6+1
Effect: D3 to confuse the foe.
Water Pulse 1
(1)(4)(4)(3)(2)
(5) That super effective attack dealt only 2 dmg! And Crustle looks a little big for his kind. 10/12hp -1 pain.
CD: (4)(2)(5)
Crustle brings its claw out from its shell, revealing a thickly packed ball of mud. It fires this at the Clawitzer with all the force of a cannon! This battle is bringing out the heavy artillery!
Rock Wrecker 1
2 Dex + 4 Fight + 4 canalize -1 acc -1 pain -2 actions = 7d6
(1)(1)(4)(5)(2)(2)(3)
4 Str + 6 power + 1 STAB - 3 vit = 8d6!
(6)(4)(5)(5)(4)(4)(3)(6) Clawitzer takes 7 dmg and faints! Crustle cracked him like a boiled lobster, and immediately started making another clay ball.
What a damage roll, wow.
Note that Crustle was holding back the lethal damage, however - otherwise you would have a dead Pokemon on your hands!
After KOing your Pokemon, Crustle waves his claws, trying to intimidate Heart into backing off - yet Heart already knows there is not very far to go.
Edit: Still some time for one more Water Pulse!
(4)
(5) +1 Crustle takes 2 dmg 8/12 hp -1 pain
CD: (6)(1)(6) Crustle became confused!
Never let it be said the Eremite never did anything for you.
Don't forget to keep track of your hit points (we're far from a Pokemon Center!) and your Potionized Pokemon (Only the first Potion per day is fully effective! Then half HP after that.)
(Still change changing for Rose and to continue the scene with Rose and etc)

Oh yes, and you now can hear that Pokemon approaching from beyond the hole! Dizzy manages to prepare a Future Sight, but before that goes off, a Golbat appears, attracted by Starmie's light. It manages to poison one of your Pokemon of your choice - Gothitelle, Azu, or Starmie - before Future Sight KOs the foe.
